Takeru "T.K." Takaishi was sitting in a coffee shop typing on his laptop regarding his first story of his adventures in the digital world. He was now 19 years old and getting close to being 20. He was wearing his signature black fedora, white t-shirt, a yellow vest, and black pants. The book was finally nearing completion of over a year of work. He still haven't shown it to anyone yet but a select few induvial. One who was already in the room and the other two who were on their way now. Next to him sat his partner Patamon drinking some ice coffee. These days everyone in the area knew about him and his Digimon so he didn't have to keep Patamon a secret. It was nice not having to hide his best friend all the time and his local celebrity status was kind of nice also. Ever since that fateful day 6 months ago when his brother lost Gabumon he's found himself having to pull some extra work to keep the city safe from wondering Digimon who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fortunately at this time his digivice hasn't shown any type of "separation clock". He was wondering when it would be his turn to feel that impending dread that most of his friends have experienced. So far it was just Izzy, Kari, Davis, Ken, Cody, Yolie, and him who still had their Digimon partners. T.K. discovered that Sora lost Biyomon shortly before Tai and Matt lost Agumon and Gabumon. Mimi and Joe were next loosing Palmon and Gomamon a few months later. T.K. felt sad for his friends but knew Izzy was working tirelessly with Gennai to find a solution to reunite everyone with their Digimon partners. He has also noticed that some kids were also starting to step up and ward away any lost and scared Digimon and help get them back home. He was grateful for the extra help as he knew at his age every battle he and Patamon went into could cause his digivice to show the separation clock so many of his friends have seen. Fortunately he's been able to get by so far in his battles by keeping Patamon at champion level to reduce the strain evolution had on their bond. Still one day he might have to have Patamon go ultimate and he truly dreaded that day.
His thoughts were interrupted by his friend sitting across from him with a "sorry I'm late" carrying her Digimon partner Gatomon. Being a few months older than T.K., Hikari "Kari" Kamiya, has just turned 20 not too long ago. Kari was wearing a pink sundress that actually worked wonders for her figure, oh so at least T.K. thought. Kari was also the only person to ever read T.K.'s book. Kari ordered some tea for herself and milk for Gatomon.
"How was class?" T.K. asked.
"Oh you know, completely dreadful, sometimes studding to become a kindergarten teacher makes you want to die." She jokingly mopped.
"Hey it's for a good cause, think of how happy your make the children" T.K. mused.
"Oh, well how about you go to college and see how fun it is?" she pouted back.
"And end up in debt for the rest of my life? Yeah hard pass." he shot back.
Kari blushed and rubbed the back of her head, "yeah you got me there" causing all 4 of them to laugh.
"So," Patamon said, "you should see T.K.'s newest chapter. He's on the part where he becomes popular with the ladies."
"Pa-Patamon!" T.K. yelled while blushing.
"Oh?" Kari said while pretending to give T.K. her best death stare. She knew Patamon was joking but thought she would join in on the fun.
"It's not like that!" T.K. shouted out.
"Suuuuuuuuure" Gatomon retorted.
T.K. just sighed in defeat.
"So really" Kari smiled at T.K. "lets see that new chapter."
Somewhere in the Digital word.
Gennai sat over looking a cliff in the digital world. Ever since the Eosmon incident he has worked nonstop to find a way to reunite Digimon with their human partners. He owned them that much, they sacrificed so much to save a world that wasn't theirs time and time again. He HAD to do something but still progress was slow. Even with the help of Izzy he wasn't sure how to obtain more potential for someone to get their Digimon back. On top of all this, with the sovereigns gone; he had taken up the mantle of protector of the Digital World. Over half the time he never knew what he was doing, he just hopped he was doing the right thing. However, what was currently bothering him was a mistake that he made years ago. He cursed himself for it, a mistake he'll live with for the rest of his life. That day years ago when he fell into King Drasil's trap. How King Drasil used him and cloned him and arguably created the greatest darkness the DigiDestined have ever faced. Not only that, his carelessness from that mistake also costed the digital word it's sovereigns. That is something he doubted he would ever get over. Still, this "man" was silent for years. Gennai hopped he disappeared the the deepest part of the digital underworld and was trapped for all of eternity. However, he knew he would not be that lucky. A cloaked figure approached Gennai's flank.
Gennai turned to the figure.
"Report" he said.
"Our spies have confirmed the worst" the man said solemnly. That the creature known as "Gennai" has returned. "There were screams of a woman," he continued "we believe her to be one of the originals."
Gennai swore under his breath.
There was little doubt about it, despite being missing for over 5 years, "Gennai" had somehow found Maki Himekawa. He shuddered at the thought of the torture she was enduring. Rescuing her could take time, one misstep and he'll be walking right back into the enemies hand like he did all those years ago.
He took a deep long breath and pondered his option. There was definitely NO WAY he would endanger a new DigiDestined, not after what he heard that "Gennai" tried to do to Sora. This would be a matter for adults to handle. However, this also proved to be troublesome. There were very few adults with relevant combat experience to go up against such a foe. On top of that, such a battle would greatly strain the already fragile bond between human and Digimon. There was a great chance that after the battle (or worse during the battle) the bond would break and the Digimon would be unable to see it's partner again. He knew he would need to train new DigiDestineds but that would have to wait until after this foe was vanquished. There was unlikely to be another shot like this, because he was sure that once "Gennai" completed his goals two things would happen. The first would be untold destruction on both the Real and Digital world, the second; he would be unstoppable. But still, why would he need Maki? BLAST there was just too much information he didn't yet have.
"I'm heading to the real world at once" he told the robbed figure. We'll need outside help.
