Mama had caught on quickly about his attraction with Ms. Mallard. I had explained to her about her and Launchpad, and that I maybe did find her to be a very pretty fowl. She had then asked that if this was true, why didn't Ms. Mallard refer to Launchpad as a contact of hers.

It got me thinking.

So, as casually as I could, I took off on my lunch break to find the pilot and settle the matter.

"You met Henna? Isn't she great!? We're planning a meet up soon so she could be a part of Beakly and I's Darkwing Duck remake! She has a few ideas of her own that I'm sure we could work in between chapters 12 and 13. You feel like joining us?"

Launchpad had animatedly drawn himself closer until we were nearly beak to beak. I honestly wasn't expecting him to be so enthusiastic, but as interesting it was to hear that Henna was an apparent fan of "Darkwing Duck," this wasn't what he came here for.

"I'm gonna have to pass. Sorry, but I was here just… wondering… if you and Henna were, together?"

"Well, she and I are friends." He sat back, thankfully giving me room.

"No. I mean, anything more?" Fenton didn't know if he wanted Launchpad to say 'yes' or 'no.'

"Uh… She's a good friend of mine?"

"No! I mean, anything more than just a friend?"

Poor man looked lost, Fenton felt bad for a moment.

"Now that you mention it, I guess she could be more. I don't know… I only just met Henna."

Oh god, they weren't together! They weren't together!

But they could be. Oh god they could be! What had he done?! Keep it together Fenton, this is Launchpad! Launchpad disserves a nice girl if he's found one! It's fine, you're fine, everything IS FINE!

"But, it's wrong to have two isn't it? Fenton, what do I do if I want more than one?!"

The large man was gripping on to my shoulders. I was gaping.

He shook me harder. "I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings! I'd never want to hurt anyone! Especially not my little buddy!"

"Little buddy?"

"Dewey."

"DEWEY!?"

"I know! He's been my best friend the longest!" he stood up abruptly, "I got it! I could be Henna's best friend! Then I could keep Dewey as my bestie! Ho ho! Genius Launchpad, crisis adverted. Ha!"

He sat back down, and then looked at me, somehow not noticing that he had been holding onto my head.

The pelican petted my hair. "Thanks for bringing it up Fentarino, if it wasn't for you then I would have hurt my new friend and my little buddy."

One would most likely assume that I would be happy after hearing from Launchpad, but I was conflicted more than anything. I couldn't lie to myself; I was scared that he would say that he was romantically involved with Ms. Mallard. I would by lying to myself that hearing him say her name didn't cause some rise of envy in me, how he could bring up her name so casually without flustering.

I liked her. I liked her a lot. She was beautiful!

But I liked Gondra first.

That's the real kicker, these newfound feelings for Henna were in direct conflict with my feelings with Gondra. Henna was a knockout no question, but Gondra was intelligent, efficient, and charming. On the other hand, Gondra is also working for Mark Beaks, and she only dated him in order to get to Gizmoduck. Henna met Gizmoduck already and she didn't care! However, he's only just meet her and he can't tell if it's really Ms. Mallard he falling for or merely her looks. He also doesn't wish to start anything when he and Gondra were already on good terms. Though, they've only been on a single date together.

He's still debating on counting it as a date.

"Oh blathering blatherskite, what do I do?"
