mrclash123: Thank you, I will try not to rush it. I had to rush chapter 1 because I didn't know what to do.
Phantommore: Sounds about right.
Notes: Summer Rose is still alive. I'm going to use all of the small towns and islands from the Vale wiki (except for mountain glen) and then I'm going to use small towns from the US.
Chapter 2: First missions
Meanwhile with Ruby
Ruby slowly walked down the snowy path towards her house where her mom and dad were waiting with a far-off look on her face. One moment she was about to die and the next her attacker was brutally murdered. She told the authorities but he had a very large bounty on his head. At this, Ruby began to wonder what huntsmen and huntresses really do. Do they really do nothing but kill just to make a living? If so, she didn't want to be a huntress anymore.
Ruby got to her parent's front door just before sundown a few hours later and knocked on the door when she found it was locked.
"Be there in a minute!" Yelled her mom. She answered the door a few seconds later. "Ruby?! What on Remnant were you doing out so late?! Come in and explain to your father and me what you were doing." Summer dragged her inside.
They waited for Taiyang to sit down and he gave Ruby a hard stare. "Why didn't you come home when we asked you to?"
Ruby shifted uncomfortably on the couch seat. "Because...I had to report the murder of Rogan the Buther…"
"WHAT!?" Yelled Summer.
"Explain yourself right now!" Demanded Tai.
"I had no idea that the man I confronted was Rogan so I tried to fight him and he destroyed me. I thought I was going to die but I was saved by three people wearing black cloaks with red clouds on them. I didn't catch their names but they killed Rogan in a really horrifying way. I was late because I had to report it and I took the long way around so I could think."
Her parents' gaze softened when they heard their daughter's reasons for being late. They still weren't happy but at least she was okay.
"How did he die?" Asked Tai.
"They stabbed him in the chest, shot him in the head and throat, and cut him clean in half in under two seconds and I bet the sword that cut him and two was moving faster than me when I used my semblance. When I asked who they were they answered, and I quote, ``People you really don't want to meet."
Summer reached out and hugged her daughter. "Ruby…whatever you do, don't engage them. You wouldn't stand a chance."
"I promise I won't fight them. May I go to bed now?" Said Ruby.
"Yes, you may. Good night Ruby." Summer nodded and Ruby left the living room to do her nightly routine and go to bed. "Do you think we should report this to Ozpin?
"Yeah. If there's a group of people strong enough to kill someone like Rogan in seconds then he needs to know about it. However, what happens after could be our salvation or our damnation...just...know it…" Whispered Taiyang.
Summer hugged him and both of them went to bed for the night.
With Sasori and Deidara
Team Artist as they were called back in their homeworld was traveling through the giant forest to get to Lower Cairn where they heard a rumor about a giant grimm the size of a two-story house that was harassing the town and killing innocents. Sasori and Deidara quickly realized that this wasn't the best job for them but they were S-rankers for a reason. They would adapt.
A few hours later, they were approached by the gate guards who met them with suspicious gazes. "Tell us who you are and why you are here!" Yelled the guard on the left.
"We're here to take care of your little grimm problem." Said Deidara.
"I see. Come with us and we'll tell you everything you need to know." Said the one on the right.
The guards looked a lot like leaf chunin but with a light green vest and it had more symbols and logos on it. Black pants and combat boots and a primary and secondary weapon attached to them. They looked the same too. Twins maybe?
Ten minutes later, they found themselves at the bounty hall. The guards turned around. "This is your stop. A girl named Magenta will tell you everything you need to know."
"Thank you." Said Deidara. The guards nodded and left. "Well, Sasori, my man? Shall we?"
Sasori said nothing and entered the bounty hall with his partner. It looked a lot like the mission office if it was a building instead of an office. Various people at various desks and an entire wall dedicated to missions of all ranks. Deidara pulled the one about killing the giant grimm and lucky for them, it was a really big goliath. Or to them, an oversized elephant with severe anger issues and more bone than needed.
Deidara walked up to the counter and put the request on the desk. "We'll take this one, please."
"O-okay. Everything you need to know is on the back."
Team Artist left without a word.
A few minutes later
Sasori and Deidara were hiding in the trees while they stalked their prey but ran into one slight problem. There were 10 of them. They knew they could kill them all and not break a sweat but they didn't want to give Vale a new lake.
"Does poison work on these things?" Asked The Mad Bomber. Sasori uses his puppet to throw a poisoned needle between the ribs of the one leading the pack. It didn't do anything but piss it off. "Okay. Just because poison doesn't work, doesn't mean sharp objects won't."
Sasori removed a summoning scroll and opened his left chest compartment; letting the hundreds of chakra stings take control of the one hundred puppets. "Red Secret Art: Performance of a Hundred Puppets!" The ten goliaths didn't hesitate. They attacked blindly and were cut down in minutes. Sasori didn't lose a single puppet.
"Welp, let's go get someone to verify our work." Said Deidara as he turned around.
"Wait, Deidara. Look." Said Sasori. Deidara looked at the former battlefield and noticed that the bones didn't disappear. "Any ideas?"
"I don't know. The older they get, the more likely they are to drop loot, I guess."
Sasori grunted in disapproval. "Collect them. We are returning."
Deidara grunted and did as he was told.
As they walked back, they noticed the forest was way too silent. They wondered if it was they killed the overgrown demonic elephants but it's rarely that simple. That kept them on alert until they returned to the station where others were hanging out and relaxing. All in all, there seemed to be a rather cheerful mood in the building. But it was all ruined when Team Artist walked in. Everyone went silent and eyed them as they walked towards the reception desk.
Magenta looked at them in awe. 17 huntsmen had taken that job and none had ever come back. But these people came back without a scratch and a trophy to boot. The tall and blonde one used a sharp bone to pin the request to the table. "O-oh! You're back?"
"Did you not expect our return?" Said Deidara with a smirk.
The woman sputtered out excuses before deflating. "No…"
"Don't worry about it. It's not the first S-rank I've had and it certainly won't be the last." Deidara looked at the reward money and his pupils turned to lien signs. "We'll be taking that reward now. All $1,000,000."
"Y-yes." Magenta went to the safe with an empty, 0lb duffle bag and came out with a 40lbs duffle bag loaded with Ozpins. [Ozpin is going to be the face on the $100 bill in this ff.] "A little help here." The young woman was clearly struggling and the entire crowd couldn't take their eyes off Deidara when he grabbed the bag with one hand and started doing curls with it. "Please come again!"
Team Artist left the bounty hall with smirks on their faces. 'Oh don't worry. We most definitely will.'
With Zabuza and Haku
Zabuza and Haku were visibly unhappy. The grimm population seemed to be unusually large and everything seemed to be dead or dying. The tree leaves seemed to be a dull green instead of a vibrant one and the wood looked half eaten in some places. Telltale signs of grimm and judging by the affected area, a big one. Nevertheless, Team Assassin continued tree running for a few more miles.
Minutes later, Zabuza sensed two very small presences. He signaled for Haku to stop. "Stop." They stopped. "Whoever's hiding should come to us before we come to you."
Behind a tree, a young boy's eyes widened considerably. 'How did he know I was here?'
"5...4...3...2…-"
The young boy gave up and slowly came out of hiding with his hands in the air. "I'm here, sir."
Of all the things they were expecting, a young boy was not one of them. And if this boy was trained assassin, then he was a damned good one. Nonetheless, Zabuza pressed on. "And your other friend?"
"Her name is Nora and I would like you to leave her alone." Said the boy in his young, yet strong voice.
Zabuza laughed. "Relax. If we wanted you dead, you wouldn't even notice the blade flying at your necks until it was too late. What is your name, boy?"
"Lie Ren, sir."
"Right, now then. You clearly know what just happened so tell us what we can expect."
Zabuza made it sound like demand but Ren stood his ground. "Only if you promise to come with us."
Zabuza chuckled evilly. "I like you, kid. Come, and bring your friend." Zabuza's expression turned dark and evil. "We're going hunting." The young girl slowly came out of hiding and followed behind them.
A few miles later
Team Zabuza stumbled upon a ghost was no one in it and all the inhabitants were gone. The chinese style buildings were run down and looked like the town hadn't seen life in ages. Unknown to them, that was not true. A grimm creature known as a Nuckelavee had killed and then sucked the life out of the town and would soon be upon them.
The ninja sensed it before they saw it and Zabuza told Haku to kill it. Sadly, the bastard saw it coming though it didn't get off scot free. The senbon lodged itself in the monster's back left knee joint and wouldn't come out. The beast screamed in pain but only the kids were affected. Zabuza and Haku remained unfazed as normal exploding tags were louder. Hidden Mist's demon narrowed his eyes as he and Haku dodged a few more rapid swings from its arms.
Haku put two between its eyes and it started flailing in pain and confusion. Without being able to see, it was no longer a very large threat. Zabuza was about to decapitate it with his sword when he felt the negative emotion known as revenge coming from behind him. 'Well, well? If a man wants revenge then he has every right to get it.' "Haku! Pin him down." Haku did as he was told but used kunai to pin its arms and feet.
Zabuza smirked. "Hey brats! I can feel your thirst for vengeance from here." Zabuza pulled out two kunai and tossed them at Ren's feet. "Well? This was the monster that took everything from you. I think it's time to return the favor."
At first, Ren was hesitant. But the moment he held those two knives in his hands, he knew what he had to do. Zabuza grabbed the grimm by the neck and pulled him down to Ren's level. Ren took a deep breath and swung. "For my mother!" He cut off the left arm and it screamed in his face but he didn't even blink. "For my father!" He severed the other arm and the same thing happened. "For my friends!" Zabuza had to move his hand so the kid could cut the bastard's throat open and when it tried to scream, it was quieter this time. "AND FOR ME!" He titled both kunai, put both kunai in a reverse grip, crossed his arms, and then uncrossed them to sever the Nuckelavee's humanoid head. It fell to the ground and started dissolving into pitch-black smoke. Leaving only the horse head behind that was put in a bag by Haku.
"Bravo, kid." Said Zabuza
"Thank you, sir." Replied Ren.
"Enough of the sir stuff. My name is Zabuza and he is Haku." He turned around. "Come, Haku. We must go." The two former assassins turned and walked away.
"Why are we walking?" Whispered Haku.
"Wait!" Said Ren as he and Nora tried to catch up to them. "Please take us with you."
"That's why." He looked at the kids. "I thought you might come. Haku! Put them in storage scrolls. We need to leave."
"It's okay. To you, only five painless seconds will pass." Said Haku. Even though he had her intimidating mask on, it seemed to calm the children because they willingly went into their scrolls.
With Itachi and Kisame
Itachi and Kisame had a different assignment compared to the others. They were to go to the City of Vale as spies and gather everything they could about the kingdom. Everything from classified intel to what the king ate for breakfast the day they arrived.
The City of Vale is a very big city. Yes, it had a residential district but it also had many larger shopping districts, a lot of recreational areas, and even a private sector. On the outskirts was the Hunters' Association building and everything after that was walled off to keep the grimm out.
Itachi and Kisame hid behind an AC unit on a large skyscraper where they could see almost the entire city. "What should we do first?" Asked Kisame.
"We observe them." Answered Itachi.
"Isn't that what we're already doing?"
"Yes, but we must come to them as they will never come to us." Kisame smirked and jumped off the edge, ignoring Itachi's calls to stop. He landed on his feet with a thud and for some strange reason, no one seemed to notice or at least they didn't care. Either way, no one noticed them until they started walking down the street. People were rightfully wary of them and gave them a wide berth even though they didn't really need it.
Itachi looked around him and observed the systemic racism in the middle of the street and frowned. Such things were beneath him but he couldn't help but feel bad for them. No one deserved to be discriminated against unless they committed some horrible sin like murdering an entire clan.
"Ow, that hurts. Please stop it!"
The Akatsuki members saw some bullies picking on a girl with rabbit ears for seemingly no reason. Kisame put his hand on his sword but Itachi held him back. "No, Kisame, you can't kill them."
"Fine, but Leader did say to act like normal teenagers and teenagers do a lot of dumb shit."
"I can't say I disagree."
Kisame walked over to where the crime was happening and grabbed the loser's hand before he could do any more damage. "If you want to keep that hand, I suggest you knock it off."
"Oh? And what are you gonna do about it, freak."
Kisame smirked and broke his wrist with ease. The mad let go with a scream and ran backwards when Kisame let him go.
"Get him!"
His three cronies tried to 3v1 him but he beat the ever living shit out of them and slammed their heads into the pavement for safe measures. He even crushed their shoulder joins and tore the ligaments so they would never be huntsmen again. Kisame looked at the terrified bunnie fanous. "Relax. I was here for those three and as you can see, they won't be bothering you anytime soon."
"Thank you."
"Don't worry about it. I must be off now." Kisame started to walk before he stopped and looked behind him. "And do try to defend yourself more often. If they refuse to respect you, then make them fear you."
He walked back to Itachi, leaving a very confused and conflicted fanous behind. "Was that really necessary?" Asked Itachi.
"I would say so. If word gets out that the Akatsuki are anti-racist then we'll have an easier time dealing with the fanous."
"I see." They kept walking when they sensed several presences.
They hid their surprise as they noticed both the police and military pointing their guns at them. The leader stepped forward with his SMG pointed at their head. "Halt, Akatsuki scum!"
Itachi and Kisame turned around slowly and dramatically but not before Itachi activated his sharingan and Kisame had his chakra at the ready. Itachi looked at the captain but showed no emotion. "Yes, yes, yes, now what do you want."
The man didn't seem to take it so well. "I want you to surrender in the name of justice and the king of Vale for aggravated assault and murder!"
"Oh? And where do those charges come from, exactly?"
"Doesn't matter. Come with us or we'll shoot." This caused Itachi to close his eyes slowly and activate his Mangekyou sharingan, making the leader pale in fear. "DON'T LOOK INTO HIS EYES! IF YOU MEET HIS GAZE, YOU'RE FINISHED! I don't know how I didn't see it but this man is Itachi: The Ghost and the man next to him is Kisame: The God of Water." He paused. "...I'll have to do this alone."
Itachi didn't seem fazed by how much they knew about him. After all, it's not that he kept his genjutsu abilities a secret. "I'm surprised that you know so much about us. As a reward, allow me to demonstrate my power." Suddenly, a burst of water came spewing out of a fire hydrant and into the men behind him, leaving him all alone with 13 passed out and maybe dead teammates.
The man was lucky enough to dodge but made the fatal mistake of looking into Itachi's eyes. "Tsukuyomi!"
Inside Tsukuyomi
The captain opened his eyes and noticed he was no longer on the street but tied to a cross in the middle of a desert under a red sky and a black sun.
"Welcome to Tsukuyomi." Itachi stabbed him a few times and let him believe that he was dead for a few moments.
"What? I thought I died."
"No you did not. This place is my world. I can control space, time, and even life and death. You will not die until I allow you to die. But if you can survive this world for 72 hours, I'll let you go." Itachi continued to torture him as as the Tsukuyomi hours went by, he cloned him once to make it more painful. The man screamed in agony and begged him to stop but Itachi only made it worse.
Three days passed and Itachi stopped to deliver the news. "Congratulations. Only 71 days, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds to go."
"Three….days...is only...one...second?!"
"Yes. But I've decided to let you go because I have places to be and things to do. Do not mistake my actions as any form of kindness." The illusion ended and the man's eyes glossed over and fell to the ground in a coma that he probably won't wake up from. Right as that happened, reinforcements arrived in the form of Headmaster Ozpin and Huntress Glynda Goodwitch.
"What have you done?!" Demanded Glynda
"The dudes with rifles or the one with the SMG?" Asked Kisame.
"All of them!"
"The rifle dudes are fine but Itachi mind-raped Mr. SMG." He drew his sword. "Well, Itachi? Shall we cut off a few limbs?"
Itachi turned around. "No, Kisame. No matter how tempting it is, we're not here to start a war and we got what we came for. But if you could give us an exit, that would be great."
"Water style: Tidal Wave Jutsu!" Kisame took a deep breath and exhaled a miniature tsunami that forced Glynda to use her semblance to protect them but it also blocked their view of Itachi and Kisame.
When the wave subsided, Glynda fell to her knees in exhaustion and Itachi and Kisame were nowhere to be found. "What was...that…?"
"That was Kisame: The Water God and his partner, The Itachi Ghost. We're lucky Itachi didn't get involved or we would've ended up like Captain Price over there. He's known for either toying with his opponents with his illusions then killing them slowly or metally torturing people until they fall into a coma they won't wake up from. Remember hearing about how Professor Snow from Atlas tried to kill them but froze for one second, and then fell into a coma?" Said Ozpin.
"Yeah...why…?"
"That's the last thing we got his his partner's body came before it was destroyed and everything else was corrupted. We did a brain scan and lo and behold, it was turned to mush. He's in a coma and will probably never wake up, even with aura." Glynda put one arm on Ozpin's shoulder for support and they started walking back. "We tried everything but it didn't do anything."
"So what will happen to Price and his men?" Asked Glynda.
"His men will be fine. They're beat up but otherwise fine. Price himself might as well be dead. Hell, I'd kill him right now as a mercy if it wasn't illegal."
Glynda didn't say anything and listened to Ozpin make phone calls to various people. She sighed and looked at the ground in sadness. She waited until he got off the phone to speak again. "Ozpin...am I weak….?"
"Glynda Goodwitch, you are a lot of things but weak is not one of them. Those people are a cut above the rest and very few people come close to their level. Even I couldn't fend off both of them at the same time. Come, let's get you back to bed."
A few hours later, Ozpin's office
Ozpin's office looked like the inside of a giant clock but with more windows and more office parts. In his office was Glynda Goodwitch, James Ironwood, Qrow Brawnwen, and Professor Port and Dr. Oobleck.
Ozpin looked at all of them. "I won't bore you by telling you what you already know seeing as you all watch the news but I want to know what your opinions are."
Oobleck was first. "I think we should seek to ally with them. Those two were attacked first and with a good enough lawyer, could claim self defense and get off with nothing more than a small fine. We're better off trying to seek their approval rather than their ire."
"I must agree with the good doctor. Even Raven: The Hunter Killer would have a tough time against one of them and she might not survive two." Said Prof. Port.
"I disagree. If we find their headquarters and invade them, they won't stand a chance." Said James.
"James...of all the terrible ideas you've gotten, this one has to be the worst. Have you ever heard of the man the people call the Orange Haired God? He has the power to wipe out an entire army and won't hesitate to wipe out yours as well." Said Ozpin with a groan.
"I am...on the fence…" Said Glynda.
"I see. Then you can form your opinion as time goes on." Said Ozpin. "That's all." Everyone but Qrow left and then Ozpin got an idea. "It's a dangerous mission but I want you to find their meeting place and spy on them. If you are caught, your actions are your own and you will be considered a rogue huntsman. Understand?"
Qrow took a long sip from his whiskey flask. "Yeah…" He hung his head. "If I don't return...tell the girls I was killed by a grimm…"
"...I will…Goodbye Qrow..."
Qrow turned into a bird and flew out the window fully prepared to die.
Well? How is it? It's not my best work but it's one of my longest. Remember to leave a review.
