The journey through the ground was absolute hell. Throughout it, Ash kept feeling as if he would drown in a sea of dirt. He emerged from the dirt, falling only a short distance before landing on a wood floor. Ash coughed out the dirt that continuously made it into his mouth and wiped the dirt off that stuck to his blood covered face.

Ash took notice of Cheryl coming through and caught her, falling into a bridal style carry.

"I gotcha."

Cheryl chuckled and jumped out of Ash's arms. Ash observed the area, which only had one noticeable direction, due to it being too dark. Even though the darkness seemed endless, Ash walked into a barrier that was invisible to his human eyes. He backed away slightly and touched the darkness with his metal hand. It was so bizarre. How was his hand getting stopped by nothing?

However, after a few seconds, a portal of green and grey, with white streaks, opened blowing a large gust of wind onto the duo. Ash placed his hands up, trying to keep himself stable.

Almost as quickly as it came, the wind came to a stop and single word gave Ash a glimmer of hope within the darkness.

"JEFE!"

Ash lowered his hands and noticed a familiar face. His good friend, Pablo, looked at him from within the portal, seemingly within Ash's airstream, but Ash had a hard time telling where he was.

"Oh, Jefe! You don't know how good it is to see you!" Pablo exclaimed.

Ash gave him a smirk. "It's great to see you too, Pablo. How's Kelly?"

"Oh, she's great, Jefe. Although she misses you a lot. Even after everything. Actually, she built a shrine for you, Jefe."

Ash squinted. "A shrine?"

Pablo nodded. "Yeah, you've been dead a while. I just figured you weren't really dead, so I did a bunch of research and with my powers, I found out where you were. So, I sent you a couple of gifts. Did you get them, Jefe?"

Ash showed him his metal hand and grabbed his boomstick with his left hand.

Pablo raised his arms in victory. "YES! It made it through!"

"So, uh, Pablo, how bout you get me out of here?" Ash asked, quickly growing impatient.

"See, that's the problem. Apparently, according to the Necronomicon, you've been sentenced for all eternity to live in the realm of the Entity. The realm is ruled by a power so large that it overshadows that big guy you fought. This is bigger than anything you've ever faced, Jefe. You're gonna need as much as you can carry."

Ash sighed. "So, you're saying that my destiny wasn't really my destiny, and this is my destiny?"

Pablo nodded. "Yeah, pretty much."

"Goddammit, I knew I should have stayed behind. Maybe I could have actually died in a way that I wanted to go."

Pablo moved his head to the side to look behind Ash; Cheryl had been observing the conversation and very confused as to what was going on.

"Who's that?"

Ash turned back and pointed at her trying to remember her name, but he couldn't remember.

"What was your name again?" Ash asked, not feeling sorry for forgetting.

Cheryl sighed and pushed Ash aside to get a better view at Pablo.

"My name's Cheryl. Cheryl Mason. I've been here for a while; having to do the same thing over and over again. Are you suggesting there's a way out?"

Pablo frowned. "Yes, but it's suicidal. Only one person has escaped the Entity, truly escaped, and that was an army veteran by the name of Bill Overbeck. He escaped the trials through a secretive hatch that the Entity was unaware of. However, after his escape, the Entity permanently sealed off this exit."

"So, what are you suggesting?" Cheryl asked, wanting Pablo to get to the point.

"In order to escape, truly escape, you need to kill the Entity."

Cheryl's mouth fell open as she tried to comprehend what Pablo had told her.

"Yes, I know how it sounds. I can't imagine what you've been through, but the Jefe has fought powerful gods before, so I have faith that he can do it."

Cheryl turned to Ash and then back at Pablo. "Him? This fat, old guy?"

"Hey!" Ash said sternly. "You take it back!"

"Guys! Now isn't the time to fight against each other. You guys are the only chance to actually beat this thing."

Cheryl sighed, rolled her eyes, and "eagerly" awaited Pablo's next instructions, while Ash continued to pout.

"The only way to kill the Entity is by starving it of hope and Ash does that already, because he's the chosen one and whatnot."

"Ok, I was only joking. Why exactly is he the chosen one?"

Ash chuckled. "That's a long story sister, a little too long."

Ash quickly turned his attention to Pablo. "So, what do we need to do to do that thing?"

Pablo thought for a moment, but he began to grow distressed as the world began to shake for Ash and Cheryl.

"It's found you, Jefe. There's nothing more I can do. Use what I've told you to defeat the Entity, otherwise, you'll be trapped there for the rest of your mortal existence."

Ash scoffed. "Thanks, Pablo. You're really helping."

The portal began to close and a loud growl could be heard from an unknown source.

"Only you can stop the Entity. Good luck, Jefe!" Pablo yelled, before the portal sealed forever.

"HOLY SHIT!" Ash yelled as he was flung from his current position.

It reminded him of his experience back at the cabin; the evil entity pushing him across the forest endlessly. It was hell, absolute hell. He couldn't tell if Cheryl was with him, but that didn't matter at the moment.

In an instant, Ash fell facefirst onto a brick walkway; his nose feeling broken.

"FUCK!" Ash exclaimed.

Ash placed his good hand up to his nose and snapped it back into place, gasping in pain as he did so. He could hear screaming coming from above him and he recognized it as Cheryl. As the teen fell towards the brick walkway, Ash quickly ran below her and caught her, once again in a bridal carry.

"Here we are again, baby." Ash remarked.

"Fuck off." Cheryl muttered, hopping off of Ash's arms.

Ash frowned. He didn't know why, but he actually started to feel bad as Cheryl turned away from him, angered at his constant immaturity. He looked down and approached her; her left shoulder constantly blocking her from seeing him.

"Look, I'm sorry, alright? I've been through some really bad shit as of a few days ago. I'm just trying to let loose."

Cheryl turned back to him. "But do you have to be an asshole about it? And a pervert while you're at it?"

"It's not my fault you're smoking, alright?"

"See, it's that. You keep acting like you want to fuck me, do you know how fucking perverted you are?!"

Ash stood agasp. He didn't know how to answer her question. Before he could, his heart began beating faster and faster. He knew that something else was close. He turned around to face his attacker, who stood tall holding a chainsaw.

Bubba "Leatherface" Sawyer stood before the duo, licking his lips as he favored cutting them both to pieces to add more ingredients to his soup. His chainsaw purred and his mallet clutch tightly.

Ash slowly drew his boomstick and held it tightly. He kept Cheryl behind him as Bubba began to approach him.

"Stay back!" Ash yelled.

Bubba was unfazed. He raised his chainsaw above his head and began to yell incomprehensibly. He charged towards Cheryl and Ash, all the while, never stopping his incoherent mumbles.

Ash fired his boomstick at Bubba; the first shot was a direct hit onto the cannibal's stomach, but it didn't stop him. As Bubba approached them, Ash acted quickly. He pushed Cheryl out of the way in a few bushes as the chainsaw cut him across the chest, causing a deep wound.

Ash fell to the ground, in extreme pain. He eyed a possible escape to his situation; he still had one shot left in his boomstick. He aimed at the ankle of Bubba's left foot and fired.

Bubba screamed and fell to the brick walkway; his ankle dislocated from his leg. Ash stood up, clutching his bleeding chest. Cheryl walked up to him, although still frustrated about the previous conversation.

"Are you okay, Ash?" Cheryl asked half-heartedly.

Ash simply nodded and looked towards Bubba, who appeared to be suffering from his broken ankle.

The sky began to swirl again and another portal opened in the sky. Ash smiled gleefully as he realized what was falling. Disconnecting his right hand, he leapt up at the right moment; the click of the chainsaw connecting to his arm only making his smile grow.

Ash landed a smooth landing (despite the bleeding chest) and approached Bubba, who was beginning to grow weary from blood loss. Ash raised the chainsaw above him and swung it down at Bubba's neck, swiftly decapitating the cannibal.

As soon as this happened, a large tentacle raised from the ground. Cheryl recognized it as the tendril of the Entity that had taken her life so many time before. She felt something buzz within her vest pocket; reaching, she pulled out the Seal of Metatron. Despite not really knowing what it did, she knew how to use it.

The tendril flung itself towards Ash, but the Seal created a sort of protective barrier around Ash. The Entity felt pain as it hit this boundary, causing the tendril to retreat under the protection of its master. Ash turned to Cheryl who was simply trying to understand what she had done. He smiled at her and nodded.

"Not bad, Cheryl. Thanks."

Cheryl gave him a small smile, albeit still frustrated.

Ash looked down at his chainsaw arm and patted it; the motor coasting along.

"Groovy." Ash said, aloud.
