25 years have passed since Peeta Mellark emerged the sole Victor of the 74th Annual Hunger Games. Now, one year remains until the 4th Quarter Quell. Who shall emerge victorious in the beginning of a new epic?

2. SYOT Intro, Rules, and Template

Hey y'all,

New to fanfic, but I've loved the Hunger Games since I first read it when I was in middle school. I have grown a lot since then, but my tastes have remained similar to my younger self.

I like a very realistic and human approach to my writing, so please write in a way that's appropriate to both the age and circumstances in which your tribute has grown up. I'm also not a petty asshole, your tribute's survival isn't dependent on reviews or whatnot, though I do appreciate them.

Now, on with the rules

1. No "guest" or review tributes. I will only accept tributes submitted via PM (personal message)

2. Diversity in both sexuality and race is highly valued. However, Panem's social construction of those terms and ideas will vary based on my studies and predictions so expect that to be reflected in the writing. (Ex. District 2 and 12 will place an emphasis on masculinity, so write your characters with that in mind). "Heterosexual" should still be the majority.

3. Mary Sues and Gary Stus are not welcomed (obviously).

4. Make names somewhat "common" based on what we've seen from the books.

6. Make physical descriptions "common" based on what we've seen from the books.

7. Careers only come from career districts unless you provide a strong reason otherwise.

8. No "bloodbath characters". All characters are potential bloodbath. Even those who die at the beginning of the games deserve to have their stories told.

9. All characters shall have "personality flaws", for example: a "just" character might still be violently racist or homophobic. These are all human beings living in a society that has raised them with certain social norms. Write them as such.

10. All tributes will be subject to my story telling. While I will give credits to their creators, there will be no "dice roll" I will determine tribute actions based on the descriptions you provide.
