CHAPTER 2

Many kilometres away, at the other side of the ocean, in the United States, James Vans arrived home after a hard day at work. He had spent hours trying to capture a wizard who was selling potions which altered the body control of the person who drank it, making them lost the equilibrium and have spasms.

"Teddy! I'm home!" he shouted just as he step out of the fireplace.

"It's not necessary to shout, Harry, I'm right here." said the teenage fifteen year old with electric blue haired who was lying on the couch in the same room, watching TV.

"Oh! I didn't see you there, I brought pizza." He said leaving the box that emitted a delicious smell on the atone table in front of the kid.

"Great! I'm starving."

"You prefer to die of hunger 'till I arrive with food rather than prepared something for yourself. You are too lazy Edward Remus Lupin." chided him the man with messy hair and emerald eyes.

Teddy simply shrugged his shoulders and started eating a piece of pizza. They ate in silence, watching an action movie on the TV. Only when they had finished eating the last pieces, Teddy broke the silence.

"Harry…" he started timidly. "I've been thinking and… I don't want to go back to Ilvermorny this year."

"What?! Of course you are going!"

"But..."

"No 'buts'! Ted, you are not going to drop out of school!"

"But, Harry…"

"No! You are going and that's my last word! End of discussion!"

"I WANT TO GO TO HOGWARTS!" shouted Teddy over Harry's voice, taking him by surprise.

"Hogwarts? Why?" asked Harry in a calmer manner.

"I want to go to England, I want to know my roots. I want to go to the same school that my parents went, that you went. I want to have adventures like you and my dad had. I want to walk by the same corners that you all walked by. I want to know if I'm a Hufflepuff like my mum or a Gryffindor like you and dad. I want to know the place that you talked to me so much about." –explained Teddy with a smile imagining the place that he longed to know.

Harry watched him for a few minutes. He knew that his godson deserved al that and much more, and he wanted to give it to him. The problem was that Harry had abandoned many years ago his life at that country. He really didn't want to go back and deal with everything he left behind. He didn't want people to recognise him and become once again "Harry Potter, the boy who lived, the hero of the magical world, the defeater of Lord Voldemort."

Little after the end of the war against Voldemort, Harry fled from all of that. He had contacted Andromeda Tonks-Black, Teddy's grandmother, and both had decided to raise the kid together in the USA. Andromeda had lost everything in the war, her husband, her daughter, Nymphadora Tonks, and her son in law, Remus Lupin, the only thing left was her baby grandson, that at that moment he didn't even had two months of life. Unfortunately, Andy, as they called her, had died ten years ago, therefore, since then, it has only been Teddy and Harry.

The moment they had arrived, Harry had changed his identity. Harry Potter was as well known in the USA as in Great Britain, and that was the last thing he wanted. That's why he had decided to change his name to James Vans, he also dyed his hair blonde, the muggle way, and he had bought brown colour contact lenses. And, the most important thing, his scar, at first he had thought about making another cut on top of the lightning bolt, but finally he had opted to put on muggle mascara every day on it. He didn't want to risk someone throwing him a Finite incantatem and his real identity being discovered.

"Okay." Harry finally concluded with a sigh. It was time to go back home.

"Really?" asked his godson trying and failing to control his smile.

"Yeah, you are right, we have to go back to England." Teddy threw himself at his godfather and gave him a tight hug.

"Thanks, Harry! You're best!"

"You're welcome. I only have one condition."

"Anything."

"I don't want to be 'Harry Potter', I want to stay as James Vans, understood?"

"Are you sure? Maybe it's time to be you again, I mean, this is also an opportunity for you, Harry."

"Teddy, this is what I want, please promise me you will respect my decision. You'll have to stop calling me 'Harry' because every little thing that escapes your mouth gives place to speculations. There are eyes and ears everywhere." Teddy look at him with a sad expression, he knew about everything that his godfather had gone through and he believed that it was time to close those scars, but he ended up accepting his condition, afeter all, Harry was doing all of this for him.

"I promise, James." He assured him with half a smile.

After that talk with his godson, Harry Potter started doing everything necessary to leave their house of fifteen years and go back to their native country. Even though he had lived their for so many years, he hadn't made any important relationship, being another person put a limit on himself, like he couldn't always be true.

A few days later, Harry and Teddy took a portkey and arrived at the old house of the Tonks family. Andromeda hadn't sold it, she had wanted it to stay the same as always in case they decided to come back home. The house was a little dirty but other than that it was in perfect conditions, still with the enchantments protecting it. Harry was happy to not need to use his plan B and having to go to Grimmauld Place.

"What do you think?" asked Harry to Teddy while they examined the house.

"I like it."

"Me too." answered Harry just as two owls entered by the kitchen window each one carrying a different letter. The first one landed on Harry's arm and the other one on Teddy's.

"Dear Mr. Lupin: We have the pleasure to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please, see the list of equipment and books necessary. Classes start on the 1st of September. We will be waiting for you. Cordially, Minerva McGonagall. Headmistress." Finished reading an euphoric Teddy. "I got accepted!"

"I told you they would, I don't know why you were so worry about it." Teddy had written a letter to Hogwarts days before to asked for a space at the school because he had lost the opportunity to take it in first year. He had been a little apprehensive that he could be rejected.

"What does your letter say?"

"They also accepted me, Teddy, you're looking at your new Defence Against the Dark Arts." Said Harry that, like his godson, he had written to Headmistress McGonagall a few days before.
