Wow! What a response to chapter one!
You lovely lot are absolute gems!
This time we get to hear from the boys in Edward's POV. I'm hoping to change it up every few chapters. We'll hear from Bella, then Edward, then back to Bella before going with Emmett. I hope that makes sense.
Normal disclaimers apply.
I absolutely hated moving, but alas it was a necessary evil. Emmett and I could no longer live in that pokey little apartment we had been renting. The walls were too thin and we were practically tripping over each other, making tensions run high. Also it didn't have a garden for our beloved dog Ness to be able to play in.
When I found out that my old college buddy Tyler was selling his house in a nice little suburban cul de sac, I practically jumped at the chance to snap it up.
Now here we are, four weeks later, new home and boxes absolutely everywhere.
While I was in a maze of boxes in the living room the front doorbell rung. "Em? Can you get that please?" I called out, diving into a pile of electrical cables once more.
"Dude, the chick next door left us a package!" He called back. "Sweet! She baked us some treats and supplied us with booze! Oh, it's wine. Oh well, I'll still drink it." I don't know if he was still talking to me or more to himself at this point. The sound of choking had me leaping over boxes in my rush to get to the kitchen. I couldn't lose someone else. Not again.
"Emmett?! Are you okay? What's wrong?" I located him head down in the bin.
"Damn chick next door is crazy. That's what's the matter." He croaked, rinsing his mouth out with some water. "Who in their right mind makes beef and ham flavoured cookies?!"
"What?"
He motioned to the gift box on the kitchen table. I looked it over and pulled out a note tucked into the gift bow. I read it over and immediately burst out laughing.
"You fucking numb skull." I cried, dragging in a deep breath between chuckles. "Those are dog treats!" My ribs ached from laughing so much. "The cookies would be these ones." I held up the cellophane bag and pulled one out, taking a big bite. Fuck me! These are amazing! Like every single one of my taste buds just had a simultaneous orgasm. "Em, you've got to try these! They're delicious." I said around a mouthful before cramming the rest in. My cheeks may have been bulging, but damn these are good. What I imagine heaven to be like in cookie form.
I grabbed another out of the bag and looked over the bottle of red. Nice vintage. Would actually pair really nicely with the rich chocolate treats. I popped the cork and grabbed two wine glasses out of the box Emmett was still unpacking. I poured us both a little wine and plated up more of the cookies.
"Come on Em. Let's go and relax a bit. You can finish this off later."
"Ed, I love you, but you know I can't just leave the kitchen this way. It's my domain and it needs to be perfect."
"A fifteen minute break is not going to hurt you. You've been at it all day." I forget how OCD he can be about his kitchen space. I guess being a high-end chef does that to a person. "Please Emmett. Just sit down and try one. You'll be banging her door down for the recipe."
Emmett sighed and ran a hand down his face before coming to join me at the table. "These better be as good as you say they are." He griped, snatching a cookie off of the plate and shoving it in his mouth.
I could tell the exact moment he fell in love with the treats. His eye's went wide and he forced two more cookies into his mouth.
"Told you." I smirked, sipping at the wine. The rich blackcurrant flavour flooding my mouth and complimenting the chocolate. "Girl's got taste, that's for sure."

"Ooh those look good. I wonder if they have your size." Emmett said over my shoulder, making me jump in my seat.
"How long have you been standing there?" I asked, spinning round to look at him. "I thought you were taking Ness for a walk?"
"Long enough to question why you're looking at women's court shoes. And I'm just about to take her now. Wanna come?"
"Sure." I closed my laptop and grabbed my hoodie, slipping it on over my grey wife beater. "So, why were you looking at women's shoes?" Em asked as we started walking down the street, stopping each time Ness did so she could sniff something new.
"I was going to buy some new ones for Bella. She broke her heels and I wanted to do something nice for her. A way to say thank you for the welcome gift." I shrugged.
"Good to know. I thought you might have taken up cross dressing or something." He grinned, bumping shoulders with me.
"I wouldn't give you the satisfaction of seeing my legs look that hot." I smirked, slinging my arm across his shoulders.
"Hey Bella!" He raised his hand in greeting as we walked past her front lawn. She was on her knees in the grass, floppy sunhat covering her head and small trowel in her hand.
"Afternoon gentlemen. Hi Ness." She cooed, making our dog wag her tail in excitement. I loosened the leash and she went charging across the grass and into Bella's arms. "Hi baby. Hi girl." She exclaimed, rubbing Ness' tummy and patting her flanks, earning herself a slobbery lick to the face.
"You've made a friend for life there." I smiled, removing my arm from around Emmett. "Thank you for the gift by the way. The cookies were to die for and Ness absolutely loved her treats, Emmett not so much." I laughed. "He ate one." I clarified at her quizzical look.
"Oh I see." Bella giggled. "Well I can assure you it was all one hundred percent organic, even the supplements for a healthy coat. You might not have liked the flavour but your hair is going to look amazing." She snorted. "I'll let you get back to your walk." Bella gave Ness one last kiss to her head and waved us off.
Yep. I was definitely going to buy her some replacement shoes.

Several days later I was planting some seasonal borders out on the front lawn, when I witnessed Bella having a very frustrated argument with a FedEx worker.
"I'm telling you, I didn't order anything so I'm not signing for it."
"I'm sorry ma'am, but you confirmed you are a Miss Bella Swan, this has your name on it so I need you to sign for it."
"Sorry Bella." I called, jogging over. "I ordered them for you. It's a gift."
"Oh. You didn't have to do that Edward. That's so thoughtful of you."
The FedEx worker huffed and thrust out the clipboard for her to sign once more. She quickly scribbled her signature and they got back in their van and drove off, leaving Bella with the box.
"I know you broke your other heels and you need new ones for work." I replied, rubbing the back of my neck.
"You're too sweet. Thank you once again." She put her hand on my arm and squeezed gently.
"You're welcome. I hope they fit okay."
"I'll let you know." She smiled, turning to go back inside while I returned to planting my perennials.
Wonder what type of shoes he chose for her. Stilettoes? Kitten heels? Will Bella even like them?
Find out in the next chapter.
Much love x
