Tamriel, Province of Skyrim | Helgen | Sundas, 8:00 AM, 17th of Last Seed, Year 4E 201 (3rd Person POV)

When Brandon's consciousness came back to him, he was suddenly met with a splitting headache "Ugh, my h-" He tried to say, only to cut himself off when the sound of horseshoes clacking on stone filled his eardrums

He then began to open his eyes, only to be met with a very blurry vision. It took some time, but eventually his eyesight adjusted, giving him a clear view on what was going on "...Head?"

He was currently sitting in some sort of wagon, and sitting with him were three men in binds.

The man sitting right across from him was a man with long blonde hair and a white complexion. He wore a blue cloth that wraps around the armour underneath it with leather belts fastening around the torso. There were also hints of chainmail underneath the quilted part of the armour for extra protection

This was Ralof, a solider of the Stormcloak Rebellion

To the left of him was man that had a slightly darker complexion with darker blonde hair. He wore dirty, and worn out rags along with foot wraps that didn't provide that much protection from the weather

This was Lokir of Rorikstead

And finally, sitting in-front of Lokir was a man that was more muscular when comparing them to the other three in the wagon. Like the others, he had a white complexion and dirty blonde hair. He word a grey fur-trimmed coat, with a leather chest-piece underneath. He also seemed to to be wearing metal bracers with carings of a bear. But what stood out the most was that the man was gagged with a piece of cloth

This was Ulfric Stormcloak, the leader of the Stormcloak rebellion and the Jarl of Windhelm

Brandon looked over to his left to see another man. This time however, the main was wearing silver armour with hints of leather and red cloth. He was also riding a horse that was pulling the wagon that they're sitting on. He continued to look around, trying to pinpoint where he was.

The wagon that he was sitting in was going down a cobblestoned road, being surrounded by boulders, towering pine trees, cedars, along with clumps of snowberry-bushes and other shrubs that grew various flora such as Nightshades and Deathbells. Snow clung to to all the flora and to the shaded areas under the trees, between the rocks, and covered a majority of the bushes

He looked up to see that the sky was mostly covered in grey clouds that extended over a nearby mountain range. Brandon looked farther ahead of the driver to see two more wagons being pulled by horses that had more of the armoured men riding on its back. The wagons also carried more men, but they all wore the same outfit as Ralof and were all bound in the same manner.

There were more soldiers riding on the back of horses on each side of the cart. They had their bows out, presumably making sure that no one could escape or at least die trying

Suddenly, the sharp pain in his head returned, causing Brandon to snarl...but not like a man, but like an animal

'Wait...snarl? How am I s-?' Brandon thought to himself, as he tried to pinch his temples to ease the pain, to see that he was bound in the same manner

But what took him off guard was that he hands were completely different. Instead of being covered with tan, human skin, this hands and arms were now covered in green, scaley skin and had defined claws on his fingers

Panicking, he tried to reach for his head only for his hands to bump into something sooner than anticipated. Confused, he opened his bound hands and did a slight pat-down on what his hands struck. After a few seconds of patting-down, he realized that his hands were actually touching a snout, complete with scaley skin, sharp teeth and two nostrils on-top

He whipped his head around his body to see that the rest of his body was covered in the same green scales as hs hands and snout. Not only that, he was also wearing the same dirty, ragged clothing and footwear as the brown-haired man just to the right of him.

He looked down to the side of him to see that he had also gained an extra appendage in the form of a long tail, the waved up and down. He was about to panic until he realized something

'Oh great...I'm having one of THOSE dreams again!' Brandon thought to himself 'That shock must've knocked you out or something...you should be waking up any minute n-!'

"Hey, you. You're finally awake" A voice said, catching Brandon's attention. He looked up to see the blonde-hared man that was sitting across from him was speaking "You were trying to cross the border, right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush, same as us. I tried telling those Imperial soldiers that you weren't with us, but they grabbed you and that thief over there" He said, as he looked over towards the direction of the said-theif

"Damn you, Stormcloaks" The said-theif gritted through his teeth "Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was nice and lazy. If they hadn't been looking for you, I could've stolen that horse and been halfway to Hammerfell" He said, then looked towards Brandon "You there...you and me, we shouldn't be here. It's these Stormcloaks the Empire wants"

'Stormcloaks?' Brandon mentally questioned

"We're all brothers and sisters in binds now, thief" Ralof said

"Shut up back there!" The driver of the wagon said with annoyance, but fell upon deaf ears

Lokir turned towards Ulfric, who now realized that he was gagged "What's with him?"

Ralof glared towards the Lokir "Watch your tongue! You're speaking to Ulfric Stormcloak, the true High King of Skyrim!"

"Ulfric, the Jarl of Windhelm? You're the leader of the rebellion. If they captured you..." Lokir trailed off, as his eyes widened with realization "Oh gods, where are they taking us!?"

As Lokir was panicking, Brandon didn't even flinch at the mention of possible death. To him, this was nothing more than a dream. However, there was something...off to him. He could feel the cold air of the atmosphere, but simply shrugged it off, thinking he must've left the window open before he passed out.

"I don't know where we're going, but Sovengarde awaits" Ralof said in a solemn tone

"This can't be happening! This can't be happening!" Lokir panicked

"Where are you from, horse thief?" ralof asked, in an attempt to calm his down

"Why do you care?" Lokir asked, with skepticism in his voice

"A Nord's last thought should be of home" Ralof explained

Lokir was skeptical at first, but he slightly calmed down and answered his question "Rorikstead, I'm...I'm from Rorikstead"

Ralof then turned towards Brandon "And what of you, Argonian? You're clearly not from the Black Marsh...so where are you from? Not to mention, you also look young...how old are you?"

This entire time, Brandon has been staying quiet able the whole thing, still thinking that this was just a dream

'You know what...just play along. I've done role-playing before in Word of Warcraft so...' Brandon thought to himself "I'm from an island that's just east of here. And, I'm fifteen"

Ralof scoffed "Now the Imperials are out butchering children! The Empire has truly lost its way for those damn elves!"

"I said shut up back there!" The driver of the wagon shouted once more, as it neared the entrance to a walled town

The entrance was that of a large gate, along with a cobblestone wall. The overhead of the gate was being patrlled by various Imperial soldiers who had their bows at the ready

"General Tulluis, sir! The Headsman is waiting!" One of the soldiers shouted, as the gates to the walled town opened, allowing the various wagons to enter

As the gates opened, various Imperial soldiers were waiting on the other side. One of which was different from the others.

He was a Redguard with shirt grey hair. He wore fancy leather armour with golden highlights with the symbol of a dragon in the centre. Along with that, he wore a short red cape.

This was General Tullius

"Good, let's get this over with" General Tullius said

"Shor, Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Akatosh. Divines, please help me" Lokir prayed out-loud. But no one was coming to save him

As the wagons entered, Brandon could see the entire village in all of it's glory. It appeared to be a large military run that was dotted with many military towers that had archers at the ready. The homes and huts themselves varied in shapes and sizes appeared to be made out of stone, wood, straw, with a small hint of metal.

"Look at him. General Tullius, the military governor" Ralof spat out. Then he noticed another figure with him.

The second figure was a High Elf woman with light yellow skin and hair. She wore a black leather robe that extended down to her legs with golden highlights, along with a violet shirt underneath, along with a matching set of gloves and boots

This was Elenwen, the Ambassador of the Thalmor in Skyrim

"And it looks like the Thalmor are with him. Damn elves, I bet they had something to do with this!" Ralof spat out

As Ralof finished, everyone in the wagon began to eaves drop on their conversation

"I'm sorry, that's just not possible. It would cause far too many problems" Tullius explained

"You're making a terrible mistake!" Elenwen gritted "Your emperor will hear of this! By the terms of the White-Gold-Concerdat, I operate with full Imperial authority!" Elenwen said, clearly irritated

"Wow...what a bitch" Brandon said, causing Ralof to chuckle "But...what is this place?"

"This is Helgen" Ralof explained "I used to be a sweet on a girl from here. Wonder if Vilod is still making that mead with juniper berries mixed in" Ralof said, as he sounded rather fond of those memories "Funny...when I was a wee little boy...Imperial walls and towers used to make feel safe..." He said in a solemn tone

As Ralof finished, Brandon began to look around the village and it's architecture. As the wagon made its way closer to tis destination, Brandon spotted a boy and what he presumed was his father watching them from their home.

"Who are they. papa? Where are they going?" The boy asked, standing on the porch of his home

"You need to go inside, little cub" His father ordered, knowing that this was something he didn't want his son to see

"Why?" The boy asked "I want to watch the soldiers"

"Inside the house. Now" The father ordered sternly

"Yes, papa..." The boy said as he turned away and walked into the house

"Yeah, that was probably a good call" Brandon muttered. But he couldn't help himself but to keep at looking at the father, who went inside as well. In a way, he was reminded of his own father, some happy memories began to flow throughout his mind

Eventually, the driver of Brandon's wagon had parked alongside the other wagons and were starting to push the Stormcloaks out of the wagons.

By the time all the wagons parked, a Redguard solider with heavy armour marched up towards the wagons "Get those prisoners out of the carts, move it!"

"Why are we stopping?" Lokir asked, with a hit of fear in his voice

"What do you think?" Ralof asked "End of the line" He said as everyone got up from their seats and made their way off the wagon

"No! Wait! We're not rebels!" Lokir pleaded his innocence as he got up from his seat

"Face your death with some courage thief" Ralof said as they all stood in line

"B-But you've got to tell them! We weren't with you! You said it yourself! This is a mistake!" Lokir protested. but his words reached deaf ears as the remaining prisoners hopped off the cart.

Soon, all of the prisoners were off the wagons and gathered in one spot in the form of multiple lines

"Step towards the block when we call your name" The captain instructed harshly

The solider who rode behind them stood to her left with a list in one hand, and a small quill in the other. The man was also a Nord, however he had brown hair. He wore light Imperial leather armour with traces of red cloth and chainmail underneath, along with leather arm bracers and boots

This was Hadvar, an Imperial soldier

"Empire loves their damn lists" Ralof muttered in distaste

"Ulfric Stormcloak. Jarl of Windhelm" Hadvar said, checking his name off the list

"It has been an honour. Jarl Ulfric" Ralof said, in an honourable farewell

"Ralof of Riverwood" Hadvar named, as he checked his name off the list...but his tone change into resentment, almost as if he knew him

Ralof nodded as he walked towards the block, along with the others

"Lokir of Rorikstead" Hadvar named, crossing his name off the list

"I'm not a rebel! You can't do this!" Lokir protested, before he shoved both of them with his body and ran for his life

"Halt!" The captain yelled

"You're not going to kill me!" Lokir protested

"Archers!" The captain ordered

Two archers pulled back their bow strings as they fired two arrows that pierced into the back of his skull and spine, killing him before he could get that far

Brandon had told himself many times that this is just a dream. He could feel the cold, but shrugged it off as leaving a window open before passing out. He could smell the smoke coming from the torches, but only shrugged it off as one of his neighbours burning on the barbecue

But, he could also feel the roughness of the wood on the wagon...maybe he passed out in an awkward position

"Does anyone else feel like running?" The Imperial Captain dared the prisoners as she turned towards them, waiting for any excuse to have them dead sooner than later

Hadvar turned towards the last prisoner of the wagon, Brandon. However, Hadvar had a look of confusion on his face. He didn't look like a Stormcloak rebel and from what he heard, he was just trying to cross the border into Skyrim.

"Wait. You there. Come here" Hadvar said, causing Brandon to step towards the two Imperials before stopping right in-front of them "Who...are you?"

Brandon was about to answer with his own name, but he didn't want to break character, still thinking that it was a coincidental dream about the game itself "My name, is Shin" Brandon said, still playing along

"Are you a relative of one of the Riften dock workers, Argonian?" Hadvar asked

"No" Brandon/Shin said, still playing along

"Yet, you're a long way from Black Marsh, what brings you to Skyrim?" Hadvar asked

"I was going to visit some family friends" Brandon/Shin said, still playing along

Hadvar turned towards his captain "Captain, what should we do? He's not on the list"

"Forget the list, he goes to the block" The Imperial Captain ordered

"By your orders, captain" Hadvar said to his superior. He then turns towards Brandon "I'm sorry, but we'll make sure that your remains are returned to Black Marsh. Follow the captain, prisoner"

Brandon/Shin nodded as he followed the Imperial captain towards the block, where General Tullius, the Headsman, a Priestess of Arky, and various Imperial and Stormcloak soldiers were waiting.

By the time he arrived, Brandon/Shin saw that General Tullius was speaking towards Ulfric "Ulfric Stormcloak. Some here in Helgen call you a hero. But a hero doesn't use a power like the "The Voice" to murder to murder his king and usurp his throne"

'The...voice?' Brandon/Shin thought 'Must've been some serious metal!'

Ulfric tried to say something, but instead was met by muffled gags

"You started this war, plunged Skyrim into chaos, and now the Empire is going to put you down and restore the peace" General Tullius finished

"RROOOOOOOAAAAR!" Suddenly, an otherworldly sound echoed throughout the mountians, startling a few. Whatever this was, this was something no one has ever heard before

'Was that a roar?' Brnadon/Shin thought to himself

"What was that?" Hadvar asked

"It's nothing" General Tullius dismissed "Carry on with the execution"

"Yes, General Tullius!" The Imperial Captain saluted. She then turned towards a priestess of Arkay "Give them their last rites"

The Priestess of Arkay nodded as she raised her arms towards the sky in some form of prayer As she spoke their last rites "As we commend your souls to Aetherius, blessings of the Eight Divines upon you, for you are the salt of the salt and earth of Nirn, our beloved-!"

Suddenly, a bound Stormcloak rebel cut her off "For the love of Talos, shut up and let's get this over with!" He shouted, prompting her to stop say her prayers as the soldiers pushed him towards the chopping block

"As you wish" The Priestess said with a hint of annoyance in her voice

"Come on, I haven't gotten all morning!" The Stormcloak soldier said, with no hint of fear in his voice

As he was lead to the block, he was pushed down by the Imperial Captains hand, then used her armoured boot to push him down the rest of the way and kept his still. Despite his current situation, the rebel smiled as he looked up at his executioner "My ancestors are smiling on me, Imperials. Can you say the same?"

Those were his finals words as the headsman brought his axe over his head, and slammed it down onto the Stormcloaks neck, decapitating him. Blood began to poor out from his neck, as his severed fell into the basket

His execution had caused a mixed reaction from the crowd and the prisoners

"You Imperial bastards!"

"Justice!"

"Death to the Stormcloaks."

"As fearless in death, as he was in life." Ralof said in respect

The Imperial Captain pointed towards Brandon/Shin "Next, the lizard!"

"RROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAR!" But before anyone could move, the otherworldly sound was heard once more, echoing throughout the mountains. But this time, it was much closer than it was before

"There it is again! Did you hear that?" Hadvar asked

'Shouldn't someone go and check that out?' Brandon/Shin thought

"I said, next prisoner!" The Imperial Captain ordered

"To he block prisoner, nice and easy" Hadvar said

Still thinking it was a dream, he started to slowly walk forwards towards the block 'When they...do that, I'll just shoot up in my bed...even though I hate it when that happens' He thought to himself. However, there was a part of him that hesitated, a part that considered that every wasn't a dream '...God! why am I still hesistent!?'

Brandon/Shin made his way towards the bloc and knneled down. The Imperial Captain pressed her armoured boot on his back, keeping him in place for the headsman. He turned to his left, facing the headsman and the headless body of the executed Stormcloak rebel

But what took him by surprise...was that he could smell a strong scent of iron coming from the mans blood. But as the headsman raised his axe over Brandon/Shin's head, he saw a massive black shape just flying over the distance

"RRRRRROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAR!" The otherworldy sound returned once more, this time it was far closer to Helgen than it was before...and finally made it's presence known.

"What in Oblivion is that!?" General Tullius asked out of a mixture of horror and shock

"Sentries! What do you see?" The Imperial Captain shouted/asked

"It's in the clouds!" One of the Senties answered, not even fathoming on what they were seeing

Soon, what was in the clouds finally revealed itself as it landed on the tower, the impact shaking the ground, as everyone saw it in its terrifying glory, and even causing the Headsman to drop his axe

The monster was covered in twisted, spiked scales that were black as the void itself. It had a pair of dark, lethery wings that clung to the stone walls of the tower with it's hook-like claws. It's head looked like that of a demon, it's horn grown backwards, bending in then out. It's eyes were malevolently red, the same colour as blood...almost as if it was promising them a slow and painful death at its claws.

Brandon/Shin looked at the creature with a mixture of shock, awe, and horror. This was a creature from the stories his father used to tell him 'Wait...is that a-!?'

"DRAGON!" A Stormcloak rebel shouted in fear, ansering everyones question

The massive, black dragon reeled it's massive head and neck back as it then fired a concussive blast from it's massive maw, sending a sonic boom that was louder than cannon fire, knocking everyone to the ground. Many began to stumble and were reeling back from the pain their ears.

Brandon/Shin began to yell out in pain as he closed his eyes. He began to squirm on the ground, trying to free his bounded hands to block the noise in his ears. It felt like his eardrums were about to burst from the sonic blast caused by the dragon. By the time he opened his eyes, his vison got all blurry as he could only hear a high pitched ringing in his ears

The sky was blanketed with dark clouds, swirling above the village of Helgen like a hurricane. But instead of rain, balls of fire began to rain down from the clouds, almost as if Hell itself began to fall from the sky. He looked around, seeing General Tullius shout something, but was only replaced by the constant ringing in his ears

The soldiers drew out their bows, pulled back their strings and fired a barrage of arrow at the dragon, only for the arrows to bounce of of its scale-like armour hide

While all of this was happening, the Imperial Captain shook her head, breaking out of her state of shock and looked around the now-burning village of Helgen, as the ground exploded from the impact of meteors. She looked up, as he eyes widened in horror at the sigh of the large black dragon setting the village ablaze

As the archers continuously firing arrow after arrow, the dragon swopped down at one of the watchtowers, grabbing and crushing the archers with its claws before flinging their lifeless corpses to the ground with a loud splat

'Someone else can deal with this!' The Imperial Captain mentally shouted, as she ignored her Genral's orders and picked up her sword. She began to run towards Helegen's gate, intending to escape and leave her comrades behind. Unfortunately for her, Karma had another idea as the Imperial Captain didn't see a meteor coming straight towards where she was running

She could only look back in shock as the burning rock struck her down where she stood, making the ground tremble as her charred remains flew throughout the block.

The Imperial Captain's charred, and severed arm flew towards Brandon/Shin and landed right in-front of him as he slowly got up. As he got up, he felt something drip down the side of his head. He lifted his bound hands to see that it was blood flowing from his ears, and began to drip on the ground

He began to hyperventilate as his body to shake in fear at the sudden realization...this wasn't a dream

He didn't want to believe it at first...but everything made sense. He could feel the mixture of the cold atmosphere and fires dancing right beside him. He could smell the constant fumes of smoke all around him...the smell of iron coming from his blood...and even the smell of the Captains charred body, forcing him to gag

Whatever was happening to him...wasn't a dream...it was real! Everything is real!

"Hey, Argonian! Get up!" Ralof shouted, shaking him back to reality. He stared at Ralof with wide eyes out of fear, as he was crouched down, hoping to avoid the fire "Come on, the gods wont give us another chance!" He shouted as he pointed in the direction of a neaby tower where the door was opened for them

Brandon/Shin slightly nodded as he slowly got up, his legs wobbling out of fear. He slowly while quickly making his way towards the tower, with Ralof right behind him.

"Inside! Come on!" Ralof shouted, as he and Brandon/Shin ran towards a nearby tower, with Ulfric holding the door open. As the two ran inside, Ulfric slammed the door shut just before another meteor made impact right outside their door, shaking the entire structure as flying debris struck the outside walls of the tower

Feeling safe for now, the two of them looked around to see others in the tower with them besides Ulfric himself. In the middle of the room were three Stormcloak Nords. One man and one woman were groaning in pain with bloody wounds and scorch mark covering their bodies, with their comrade tending to their wounds

"Jarl Ulfric! What is that thing!? Could the legends be true!?" Ralof asked with trepidation

"Legends don't burn down villages" Ulfric answered, looking around at his current situation

"Well, this one did" Brandon/Shin muttered

"We need to move, now! Get everyone out of here!" Ulfric said

Ralof nodded as he turned towards Brandon/Shin "Up through the tower, Argonian, let's go!" He directed as he began to run up the stairs

As they made their way halfway up the tower, they overheard another Stormcloak who was trying to remove the fallen debris that was blocking the rest of the way up "We just need to move some of the rocks to clear the way!" The Stormcloak rebel shouted as he moved pieces of rubble out of the way

All of a sudden, the black dragon's head bursted through the towers exterior, the debris or rocks flew and crashed into the rebel, killing him instantly as his body fell all the way down to the bottom of the tower. The two that were running up the stairs halted in shock

"Everyone back!" Ralof shouted

"Yol..Toor..Shul!" The dragon roared as he breathed a stream of fire into the tower. It's flameswere so hot that it actually began to melt the stone, creating a small stream of molten rock. Soon, the dragon creased its fire, retracting its claws from the wall before flying away to continue its attack on the rest of Helgen

That was their cue to walk back up to the tower with caution until they reached the hole that the dragon made, leading towards the outside of the tower and into a nearby inn, with its roof exposed from the fire

"See that inn on the other side?" Ralof asked as he pointed towards the burning inn "Jump through the roof and keep going!"

"What about you?" Brandon/Shin asked

"Go! We'll follow when you can! We'll meet again soon!" Ralof said "Now go!"

Brandon/Shin nodded as he took a few steps back before jumping out of the tower. However, as he landed on the second floor, the wood gave in with the combination of weight and the fire that was burning away at the wood, causing him to crash on his side on the ground

"Alright, now I have to get these off!" He groaned as he slowly picked himself off of the ground with his hands still tied. He began to look around the burning inn, trying to find something to get his bindings off. After a few seconds, his eyes laid upon a small patch of embers among the raging fires

"...This is gonna hurt" Brandon/Shin muttered as he ran towards the small patch of embers that was getting bigger by the second. He lifted his bounded hands by the open flame, as it started to eat away at the rope. Unfortunately the flames were starting to burn his scales as well.

He gritted his teeth in pain as the fire began to burn his skin. His body was telling him to pull away, but he had to fight through the pain if he wanted to at least stand a better chance at living. After a few more seconds, the rope suddenly snapped, causing brandon/Shin to pull away his hands from the open flame, freeing his hands

He began to rub his wrists, trying to ease the pain. However, before he could move, he heard a series of cracks from above. He whipped his head up to see that the ceiling above him was about to collapse right on-top of him.

"...Shit" He muttered as he ran out of the burning inn, just before the ceiling finally gave in, causing the entire structure to collapse and creating a plume mixed with dust and fire

Knowing that he wasn't safe just standing around, he began to run, while also looking for a place that looks safe, and stay there until the dragon passes. After a few seconds of running, he suddenly stopped when he saw a group of Imperial soldiers that were retaining some distance between a boy who was staying by his fathers side, whose legs were inned under a large wooden pillar

"Dad! Get up!" The boy cried, trying to pull his father from the collapsed pillar

"Haming, get out pf here!" Hadvar shouted, trying to usher the boy to safety

Suddenly the sound of wings flapping that could easily be mistaken for thunder was getting closer by the second. It was only a matter of time until the dragon finds them

Haming was just about to look up, only to be stopped by Hadvar "Don't look up, just focus on me! You can do it!" Hadvar encouraged, but Haming was still trying to pull his father "Just come towards me"

"Get off the road, boy!" Gunnar shouted, as he crouched behind a nearby pile of rubble

"Get up, Papa! Get up!" Haming shouted, tears running down his cheek as he still tried to pry his father out

"I'm done for...little cub" The wounded father said "You...need to get out of here...you need to be brave"

"B-But, I can't!" Haming cried

"Yes you can!" The father argued "You need to stay strong...please!"

"Haming, you need to get over here. NOW!" Hadvar shouted at the boy, still trying to get him over to safety. Haming then stood up, turned around with his eyes closed and tears still running down his cheek. Listening to his father's final wish, he ran with reluctance towards Hadvar "That a boy, you're doing great!"

"That's it son...make me proud" The father weakly smiled as he closed his eyes, welcoming his fate with open arms, knowing that his son was alive and well

Just as the boy made his way towards Hadvar, the black dragon landed on the dirt road, shaking the very earth as it landed and causing the others to stumble to the ground

Noticing the man in-front of him, the black dragon reeled it's head back as fire began to drip from its mouth

"By the Gods..." Hadvar muttered, before turning back towards his men "Everybody get back!" He shouted, causing all the soldiers to take cover behind some nearby debris

"Yol..Toor..Shul!" The dragon roared as it released the flames of Oblivion itself from its mouth onto the road. The fire consumed the father, burning his clothes, cooking his flesh and organs, incinerating his bones, and boiled his blood...not a single trace of the father remained, not even ashes

The black dragon closed its mouth, ceasing its attack. It flapped its massive wings, accumulating dust, ash, and embers as it took to the skies once more with the intent of destroying the rest of Helgen, along with every living thing

With the threat of the dragon gone for now, everyone got out of their hiding spots. Hadvar let out a sigh of relief, as he looked behind him, only to see the Argonian hiding behind some nearby debris

"You're still alive, prisoner?" Hadvar said "Just stay close to me if you want to stay that way" He said, more of a statement than assumption.

As much as Brandon/Shin wanted to stay clear of one of the people that wanted him dead...he had no other choice "A-Alright..." Brandon/Shin said with slight reluctance

Hadvar then turned towards Gunnar "Gunnar, take care of the boy. I have to find General Tullius and join their defence"

"May the Gods guide you two" Gunnar said, as he guided the Haming to safety

The Imperial and the Argonian went out from behind the ruined building they were hiding behind, running past the charred corpse of the father. The sight and smell of it made Brandon/Shin feel sick to his stomach

"Stay close to the wall!" Hadvar shouted as they ran towards a small alleyway, with a small overhang being the only cover they had.

But by the time they made it, the black dragon landed on the wall, shaking it in place as it it unknowingly landed above them. Neither of them dared to move, not even usher a word les if they had a deathwish

"Yol...Toor...Shul!" The dragon roared as it spewed a stream of fire from its mouth upon an unlucky Imperial soldier. He screamed in pain before he was quickly silenced, leaving nothing but a charred body behind.

Thankfully, the black dragon didn't notice the Imperial or the Argonian as it retracted its claws off the building and flew off to continue its rampage

Both of sighed sight in relief, as Brandon/Shin continued to follow Hadvar throughout the burning town

"Quickly, follow me!" Hadvar shouted as they ran up a small set of stairs, running past another charred body.

The Imperial and the Argonian ran throughout the burning town until they they ran upon what was believe to be the town square, with a gat just right in-front of them. Unfortunately, the dragon had knocked over one of the watchtowers, blocking the gate and trapping Helgen's civilians

Legions of Imperial soldiers all had their bows drawn, trying to at least stagger the dragon, but just as before, the arrows only managed to bounce off of its scales. The Battlemages began to cast fire from their palms, but their attacks didn't even leave a scorch mark behind

"It's still coming!"

"What does it take to kill this monster!?"

"Come on. Give me your hand, I'm getting you out of here"

"I've had enough of you!"

"How does it move so fast!?"

Voices began to shout out, only to fall upon deaf ears as they were drowned out by the constant chaos that surrounded them. Among the group of soldiers, stood General Tullius, leading his men to fend of the dragon or at least keep it distracted fro everyone else to get to safety. Unfortunately, things weren't going well as the dragon was constantly wiping out multiple platoons of soldiers with its fire in an instant

"Hadvar!" General Tullius shouted after seeing his colleague, along with another face" Into the keep soldier, we're leaving!"

Hadvar nodded as he turned towards Brandon/Shin "It's just us now, prisoner. Stay close!" Hadvar shouted as he guided him away from the battle

But just as Brandon/Shin followed the Imperial, he suddenly stopped when the black dragon spoke in an unfamiliar language "Hinn sil fen nahkip bahloki!" ("Your soul will feed my hunger!") It spoke in a deep voice and guttural vice

"D-Did it just-!?" Brandon/Shin tried to say

Before he could finish, a meteor suddenly struck the ground beside him. The impact of the burning rock of sent him along with debris from the ground flying across the keep. If he was just mere inches closer, he surely would've gotten severe burns, or would've been crushed

Brandon/Shin picked himself off of the ground, only for Hadvar to quickly run back, grab one of his arms, and threw it over his shoulder

"Prisoner! Stay close!" Hadvar shouted, as he ran closer towards the keep. Once he reached the door, he opened it, and quickly gestured him in "Through here. Let's go!" He shouted as Brandon/Shin ran past the doorframe, causing Hadvar to slam the door shut and locked it behind them

Helgen Keep, Southern Entrance (My POV)

Just as the man slammed the door shut and locked it behind us. However, my vision was still a bit blurry from the sudden meteor strike, so I walked to the nearest blurry object which turned out to be a bed. I was finally able to sit down and properly process everything that happened.

At first, I didn't want to believe it, thinking it was nothing more than just a dream! But I felt and smelt everything! Everything I saw is real, even the dragon! I was in the world of Tamriel!

Images began to flow in my mind. First, was the horse thief who got shot in the head...then the guy who got his head chopped off...then were the people who were being burned alive by the dragon

That was a dragon...right? But it looked more like a demon! I saw the look in its eyes, it was enjoying what it was doing! Not caring for anyone or anything that got in its way. That thing was like Ghidorah, but with only one head, and call me crazy, but I could've sworn I heard it speak! Not in English, but in some unknown language

And...to top everything off...I've been tuned into an Argonian!

.

.

Wait...

As I slowly got my vision back, I did a small pat down on my new body, noticing that I had purple spikes traveling from my head, down my back, and all the way to the tail...that exact same design I used when creating this avatar...did I do this to myself?

And...surprisingly, I'm not freaking out as much on this as I thought I would. I mean sure, when I realized everything wasn't a dream, I started to freak out...but I didn't have a single panic attack, I didn't even faint when I saw someone die!

As my vision started to clear, I saw what kind of room we were in. We were in some sort of barracks that was complete with rows of beds on either side with chests in front of each one. There were also cabinets and drawers that housed leather armour and iron weapons. The only thing that was lighting up the room was a series of torches and candles.

I looked at a nearby water bucket, and did some various expressions 'Huh, looks like not everything changed' I thought to myself, as I could still smile, snarl, glare, basically every expression I could make when I was still human

"Looks like we're the only ones who made it, but we should check the other rooms for survivors" Hadvar said

His name was Hadvar...right? That's what I heard everyone called him when we were running

"But, was that really a dragon? The bringers of the End Times?" Hadvar said, with a small hint of fear in his voice

"It looked like one" I said "But...it looked like a demon"

"We better get moving, can you keep going?" Hadvar asked

"I...need to sit down for a bit" I said, trying to catch my breath from the constant running

Hadvar nodded "Aye, I'm still trying to wrap my head around this" He said as he looked around the room "Take a look around, there should be supplies and plenty of gear to choose from pri-...Shin was it?"

My eyes widened with slight surprise 'That's right! I gave him my avatar's name instead of my real one!...Okay...until I can get proper grasp on what's really going on, I think it's best to use my nickname...or in this case, my avatar's name instead of my actual name'

"Yeah" I said "And, you are?" I asked with slight faked arrogance

"Hadvar" Hadvar introduced

"Well, it's nice to meet you...but I do wish it was under better circumstances..." I trailed off with a slight glare, remembering what was going to happen before the dragon attacked

"I'm sorry" Hadvar apologized "I don't blame you for being angry about it. I would be, too, in your shoes. But it was all a mistake. You weren't supposed to be on that cart with those Stormcloak traitors"

Actually...this might be a good time to get some questions answered

"The...Stormcloaks?" I asked

Hadvar looked at me with his eyes widened "You mean...you don't know!?"

I shrugged "I don't really pay that much attention to current events. All I heard is that they were traitors, right?"

I mean, every side has a story. From the looks of it, The Empire thinks that these "Stormcloaks" are traitors, and vice verse.

Hadvar nodded "Right, Ulfric Stormcloak, the leader of the Stormcloaks. They claim to be fighting for Skyrim's freeom, but the war is really about Ulfric wanting to become the High King of Skyrim. He founded the Stormcloaks years ago, as a sort of private army to advance his ambitions. He's always used the ban on the worship of Talos to stir people up against the Empire. He never succeeded in getting much support, so a few months ago he murdered the High King! That got the Empire's attention"

"Wait, why was the ban of Talos banned?" I asked "Isn't he one of the nine divines?"

I mean seriously, Talos is the THE hero-god of Tamriel! Why would they ban his worship...not that I'm religious or anything but...

"I guess it wasn't such a big deal elsewhere in the Empire, but here it's caused a lot of resentment. Native son and all that. Even I'll admit it hasn't been the Empire's finest hour" Hadvar answered

"But, then why go through with it?" I asked "I may not be religious, but even I know that it is an important part of everyone's lives"

My grandmother used to take me to church every Sunday, even though I found it boring to just stand, kneel, and sit, it made my grandmother happy, which made me happy...no one likes a sad grandmother

"It wasn't like the Emperor had any choice, did he? If he hadn't signed the peace treaty with the Thalmor, they would have destroyed the Empire - then where would Skyrim be? That's the part that Ulfric's supporters always conveniently forget about. Unless the Empire stands together, the Thalmor will destroy us all" Hadvar explained

"RRRROOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRR!" But, just as I was about to ask another question, we could hear the dragon's roar from all the way in here...and was causing the entire structure to shake as dust fell from the ceiling and various swords fell off of their racks

Actually...those questions can wait

"So...if we're done then, we should keep moving" Hadvar said "There should be some armour in that chest over there"

I nodded as I got up from one of the beds and ran over to the chest and opened it, revealing a set of light, brown leather armour with hints of chainmail and red cloth. By the time I slipped everything on...I realized something

...It feels like I'm wearing a skirt...

"You better give those swords a few swings, too" Hadvar said, as he pointed towards the rack of iron weapons

I nodded as I walked over to the rack that was filled to the brim with iron swords

I mean sure, I never swung, let alone wield a sword before, but how hard can it-

.

But as I grabbed onto the swords hilt...something "washed" over me. I can't really describe what I felt...but...it feels like I've wielded a sword before, even though it's my first time touching one...was my mentality altered as well?

If my mentality was altered...along with my new body...does that mean...?

I walked over to one of the wooden beds, and stood it up on one of its sides

Hadvar looked at me with a look of confusion on his face "What are you do-?"

Hadvar's question was answered when I brought the iron sword down onto the stood-up bed, instantly cutting it in half as splinters and fur flew throughout the small area

I looked at the iron sword 'I was right, it looks like my new body has been accustomed for sword-fighting, muscle memory, possibly other skills too...I wonder what else I could do?' I thought to myself as I looked towards my new appendage in the form of my tail, which appeared to be more versatile, similar to that of a snakes 'And, I'm guessing that will come in handy soon'

I looked back towards Hadvar who had a look of confusion on his face

"Sorry" I apologized "I was just...testing the sharpness of the sword"

"You could've done that on the training dummies over there" Hadvar said, pointing at one of the training dummies

"Oh..." I muttered "We...should get going" I said, trying to change the subject

Hadvar nodded as he walked over to a wooden gate and pulled a lever that was right next to it. The sound of rope and the strain of wood echoed in the hallway, opening the gate and allowing us to walk further into the keep through a hallway

This hallway let to another room, this time there was a large wall with another wooden portcullis that was blocking the way, with a wooden lever on the left side of the wall

"We'll meet again in Sovengarde, brother" As we came closer, both Hadvar and I stopped as we heard the voice of someone around the gate. But, the voice suddenly went silent, meaning whoever was there knew that we were coming

"Be careful, it could be anyone" Hadvar warned/whispered, as he slowly made his way towards the lever, careful not to make a sound with each step.

As he reached for the lever with his left hand, he lowered his right hand towards his sword, unsheathing it, making sure he was ready for whoever was there

As he pulled the lever, the wooden portcullis slid upwards, causing the wood to creak. Hadvar went in first, taking the lead with caution.

Helgen Keep, Central Room (3rd Person POV)

"AAAAHHHHHH" As he passed through the archway, someone yelled out a war-cry, giving Hadvar a warning to raise his shield before the blade of the axe met his head. Hadvar's shield absorbed the blow as the war axe made a noticeable crack in it. Hadvar then placed his shoulder behind the shield and thrusted it forward, shoving his would-be-attacker backwards, making the attacker stumble backwards while also giving Hadvar and Shin a good look at who he was

'Wait...isn't that R-?' Shin mentally asked

"Ralof, you damn traitor!" Hadvar shouted "What are you doing here!?"

"We're escaping, Hadvar. You're not stopping us this time" Ralof spat, as he quickly glanced towards the Argonian "I see that you made i-wait...why are you wearing an Legion uniform!?"

"It's the only thing they h-" Shin tried to say

Ralof cut him off, his teeth gritting "You...JOINED THEM EVEN THOUGH THEY TRIED TO KILL YOU!? YOU BLINDLY FOLLOW THOSE SLAVE MASTERS! I'LL KILL YOU!" Ralof shouted with anger as he charged towards the Argonian with the intent to kill him

However, Hadvar managed to block Ralof's attacks before he could reach Shin "We. Are. Not. SLAVES!" Hadvar shouted back, as the two warriors clashed in a fight to the death

Their blades clash, sparks were sent flying across the room each both of their blades met each others.

"YOU SENT IN THAT DAMN MONSTER TO FREE ULFRIC AND KILL MY COMRADES, DIDN'T YOU!?" Hadvar shouted, accusing Ralof for the attack on Helgen.

Hadvar swung his blade at Ralof, only for him to duck under that attack, leaving Hadvar open for a punch to the jaw "THAT MONSTER KILL MORE OF MY BROTHERS THAN IT DID YOURS, YOU BASTARD!" Ralof shouted, as he lifted his axe over his head.

But Hadvar had managed to drop his shield, using his free hand to grab Ralof's wrist that was holding the axe, and push-kicked him away

As the Imperial Soldier and the Stormcloak rebel fought back and forth, Shin was slightly lost with everything that's happening

From what Shin knew, Ulfric, the man who was on the same wagon as him had killed the High King of Skyrim, basically starting a civil war. But from the looks of things, neither Hadvar or Ralof had anything to do with the dragon, they were just as surprised and shocked as everyone else was.

What he did know however was that none of this fighting would solve anything

Shin mentally sighed as he saw a random iron war axe on the ground. He picked it up with his left arm, dual wielding an Imperial sword in his right hand and an iron war axe in his left hand

Just as Hadvar went in for another strike, Shin blocked the oncoming attack with his sword and push-kicked Hadvar away

"W-What are you doing!?" Hadvar shouted in shock

Just before Ralof was about to go in for another strike, Shin elbowed him in the stomach, making him crouch down in pain as he pushed Ralof to the ground. Just as Hadvar charged, Shin brought the tip of his sword towards Hadvar's neck, causing him to stop and raise his arms in surrender

Using his left arm, he brought the iron axe towards Ralof's neck, ensuring that he doesn't going to get up. Shin didn't want to kill them, considering he didn't want murder on his conscious

'Let's see how all of that role-play in World of Warcraft has payed off...' Shin thought to himself "We...all just survived a dragon attack and you're already back to killing each other!?"

"This was all of their fault from the start! They brought the dragon here!" Ralof accused

Shin turned towards Hadvar "Did you know about the dragon?"

"No, of course not!" Hadvar defended

Shin then turned towards Ralof "Did you know about it, uh...I don't know your name"

Ralof shook his head "No, and my name is Ralof"

"See? None of you had anything to do with the dragon. And I highly doubt your superiors had to do with it as well" Shin clarified, as he turned towards Ralof "Also, to clarify, this was the only thing they had available. Do you think I like wearing a skirt?" Shin asked, referring to the Light Imperial armour he was wearing, causing Ralof to chuckle "Listen, I was about to get my HEAD chopped off for no reason at all, only to be attacked by a god-damn dragon...and to top it ALL off for me, I've been turned into an oversized newt!"

Both Hadvar and Ralof had shocked expressions after hearing what Shin had said

"Wait...what was that last part?" Ralof asked, thinking he might've misheard them

"Look, the point is, after everything that has happened, I've miraculously, mostly stayed calm...all I ask is for you to do the same before you start pointing fingers, alright?" Shin asked, keep his blades up, and ignoring Ralof's question

.

.

"Aye...the lad is right" Ralof sighed, causing Shin to lower the axe in his left hand

"...Well, I'm willing to agree to a temporary true" Hadvar said, hesitantly, causing Shin to lower the sword in his right hand "Agreed, Ralof?"

"Aye...until we reach Riverwood" Ralof relented, as he got up "And...I'm sorry as well, I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions...tensions were high" Ralof apologized to the young Argonian

"It's alright...no point in holding grudges now" Shin reassured, while sighing a breath he was holding in, relived that the two would at least not kill each other until Riverwood

'...Wait...where is Riverw-?' Shin thought to himself

"RRROOOOAAAAARRR!" Suddenly, the sound of the dragon's roar was heard, more dust began to fall from the ceiling as the stone wall started to shake. The sheer force of the dragons roar, caused the very structure to shake, bringing the three back towards the task at hand

"Right...we should get going" Hadvar said, after picking up his shield. He then walked over to the iron-bar-door with Ralof and Shin following right behind him "Let's see if I can get this open" He said as he pulled a key out, and unlocked it

Helgen Keep, Jail Room (3rd Person POV)

The trio stayed close together, forming a small "knot" group as they walked around the halls corridor, a series of torches being the only source of light they got. They eventually came across a big chamber wth iron cells on both sides, and what appeared to be other survivors

"RRROOOOOOOAAAAAAR!" But the trio only managed to take a few steps before they heard the dragon's roar once more, causing all of them to stop as the chamber's ceiling began to shake and crack

"Look out!" Ralof shouted, as the ceiling in-front of them suddenly collapsed right in-front of them, a series or rocks and boulders blocking their path, casuing everyone to stumble backwards from the impact

"Damn...that dragon doesn't give up easy" Hadvar commented

"Let's go through there!" Ralof suggested, pointing towards a nearby cobblestone archway on their left, which thankfully wasn't blocked off by the rubble "I saw an opening on the other side. Let's hope it's clear"

Hadvar and Shin nodded as they started to follow Ralof towards the archway and down towards another hallway, following a series of torches being their only source of light

Helgen Keep, Storage Room (3rd Person POV)

After only a few seconds of walking down the cobblestone hallway, following the series of torches mounted on the walls, they eventually came across another room

"Hey, look!" Hadvar said, as they walked past a small archway and into another room. The three of them were now in Helgen Keep's storage room, where they kept potions, food, and other upplies in-case of an emergency

The room was lit by a series of torches and candles that dripped wax on the ground. The room was filled to the brim with tables, chairs and storage cabinets that was filled with various ingredients. On the other side was a row of barrels along with wooden boxes that were stacked on-top of each other

"What is this place?" Shin asked

"It's an old storeroom" Hadvar answered "There might be potions in here we can use. Let's see if we can find any"

"While you all do that, I'll be checking the pantry" Ralof said as he walked over to the pantry

The trio then broke apart and walked off into different parts of the room. While Hadvar and SHin walked over to the various barrels, boxes and cabinets for potions, while Ralof walked over to the cabinets to find food

However, as Ralof was looking for food in the pantry's, one question lingered in his mind. It was what the young Argonian had said before: 'and to top it ALL off for me, I've been turned into an oversized newt!'. It could be true that he might've misheard him...but for some reason, something at the back of his head was telling him to ask him that question

"Hey, lad?" Ralof asked

"Hmm? Oh, uh, yeah, what is it?" Shin asked

"Is it true?" Ralod asked

"Is...what true?" Shin asked

"Is it true...that you've turned into an Argonian?" Ralof asked

The moment those words left Ralof's mouth, Hadvar stopped moving and turned towards Shin, who had stopped moving as well. Shin was about to answer his question...but he had to choose his words very carefully. Like, how to explain it, or how to prove that he was telling the truth.

Still, it would no doubt leave them with more questions than answers...but if Shin really wanted to know what really happened to him, then this might be the very first step to figuring it out, and eventually to get back home

"Y-Yes...everything I had said, is true" Shin said, trying to place his words carfully

"No offence young lad, but I find that...far-fetched" Hadvar said, with Ralof silently agreeing with him

"Well, I found dragons to be far-fetched, but there's one flying above us at this very moment" Shin said 'That...and I'm in the world of a video game'

"Besides, can you tell em the last time you saw an Argonian do this?" Shin asked, as he did various facial expressions, from smling, snarling, and even glaring. None of which was something Argonians could do

Ralof's eyes widened. Back in Windhelm, he would occasionally visit the docks, often talking with the sailors and constantly tell tales towards one another. However, he would occasionally speak with the Argonian dock workers. Even though they weren't capable of making expressions, they showed their expressions through their voices and tone. But, standing in-front of him was a young Argonian, that was making various expressions like a Nord, Redguard, or any other human could make

"H-He's right. I know a few Argonian workers by the docks, and none of them could do that, let alone smile" Ralof said

"But...something like this seems...unnatural" Hadvar commented "Seems to me that this is the work of the Daedra! You must've done something to anger them"

Shin was about to protest...that is until he thought about it more; to him, it made sense. The Daedric princes like Molag Bol, who turns his subjects into vampires, or Clavicus Vile, who forms pacts with his subjects...only for them to pay the price.

But, that leaves the question, which one? There are fifteen Daedric princes in Tamriel, so who knows where they are. So, this needs some further investiagtion...whenever there's time of course

"But, the thing is, I don't even know what I did!" Shin said, as he pried one of the barrels open, revealing a set of apples

"Well, you can always visit the Hall of Vigilants" Ralof suggested, as he dug through the pantry "Maybe they can help"

"How can they help?" Shin asked

"The Vigiliants of Stendarr are a group of warriors, priests and nomads that have dedicated their lives to the worship of Stendarr" Hadvar explained "They were founded after the Oblivion Crisis to hunt down Daedra and Daedra worshippers, maybe they might know something that can help"

"Hmm..." Shin pondered, tapping his chin. There is a slight chance that they could help...but there is also a chance that they no know anything. But if the Vigiliants of Stendarr are experts when it comes to the Daedra, then it might be worth it "Alright, where is the Hall of Vigiliants?"

"It's just south of Dawnstar" Ralof said, as he opened various drawers

"Maybe, when I'm in the area, I might as well drop by..." Shin trailed off, as he opened another barrel. This time, there were two potions at the bottom. One minor healing potion and one minor magicka potion respectively "Found some"

After scavenging for what they were looking for, the three of them gathered around a candle lit table to show what they found. Laid out on the table were a total of: six minor healing potions, two minor stamina potions, one magicka potion, three pieces of bread, five apples, and an iron dagger

"Hmm..." Hadvar pondered, trying to figure out how to split what they had found "All of us should carry two healing potions, one piece of bread, and two apples. Ralof and I will take one stamina potions and Shin should carry the magicka potion and the dagger"

This prompted everyone to grab their own respected piles. As Ralof and Hadvar placed their respected items into their pouches, Shin did the same as he sheathed his newly acquired iron dagger

"Looks like that's it here. Let's get moving then" Hadvar suggested, prompting the other two to follow behind him

But before Shin followed the two, he halted when his eyes lad upon a small shelf that had various ingredients such as salt, deathbell, and even a nightshade. He grabbed them, and shoved them into his pouch, figuring that they might be useful when making potions

Helgen Keep, Torture Room (3rd Person POV)

By the time he finished, he caught up with Hadvar and Ralof, they eneded up on the other side of the storeroom. Upon opening they door, they were relived that their path wasn't blocked by the rubble, seeing as most entrances were blocked off like the other locations of the keep

As before, the walked down the candle-lit hallway, eventually leading the group to a set of stairs that led down towards another room. As they entered, all they could see were a series of cages that were big enough to fit at least three people.

There were more cages, however they hung from the ceiling and were only big enough to fit one person and among the room's walls, were wall shackles, some of which were holding a human skeleton

"Troll's blood, a torture room!" Ralof breathed

"Gods, I wish we didn't need these' Hadvar said, with grimace in his voice

Hearing the words "torture room", made Shin feel extremely uneasy, almost to a point where he wanted to find a different route. But, he didn't really have much of another choice, considering the only other exits were rather blocked off or non-existent.

But to everyone's surprise, they weren't the only ones in here "Well now, looks like the General has brought me more guests to entertain. How thoughtful" A voice said, with a sinister tone

Hadvar, Ralof, and Shin tensed up as they turned their heads towards the source of the voice, revealing it to be an older man wear light Imperial armour, however instead of a helmet, he wore a hood instead

But before the old man made a move, Hadvar stepped in between to defend them "I did not bring these two here for your amusement. We're getting out of here"

"Oh? And why's that?" The torturer asked

"Haven't you heard!? There's a dragon attacking Helgen!" Hadvar shouted

"A dragon" The Torturer scoffed "Don't make such nonsense. Although come to think of it, I did hear some odd noises coming from over there" He said, pointing towards a hole in the wall, possibly another exit

"As ridiculous as it sounds, but it's true! A dragon is flying over our heads as we speak! We all need to get out of here before this entire place collapses right on-top of us!" Shin said

"You have no authority over me, boy!" The torturer gritted

"Didn't you hear us!?" Hadvar shouted "The keep is under attack!"

But before Hadvar could continue, Ralof placed his hand on Hadvar's shoulder, telling him to stop "Come on, Hadvar, let's just leave the old man alone"

"Oh? And what makes you think that you are going anywhere, Stormcloak?" The torturer asked, as the spell tomb "Sparks" began to form in the palm of his hand

The sudden action made everyone tense up, grab and unsheathe their respected weapons

"I don't we need to tell you that you're outnumbered here" Shin said

But before anyone could make a move, another figure came out. Like the torturer, he wore Light Imperial armour, but without the hood "Come on, old man, just forget about it and let them go"

At first, the torturer was going to ignore him, then he knew that both of them weren't trained enough for dealing with armed intruders. The torturer sighed in defeat as he deactivated his Sparks spell from his palm

"Even if the keep is under attack, we'll be fine where we are" The assistant reassured

Shin sighed in relief, grateful that none of them had to do anything drastic. He may need to adapt in this world, but he's not ready to take another persons life away. Considering back where he's from, killing someone is unforgivable. Ralof on the other hand, looked disappointed, considering that most of the bodies in the hanging cages were those of his comrades

"Wait a second" Hadvar halted, looking at the three large cages "Looks like there's something in this cage" He said, as the three walked towards the set of large cages

The one that Shin chose, had a dead body of a mage, wearing hooded robes. To the side of him was four gold septims, a minot magicka potion, and a Spell Tomb: Sparks

"See if you can get it open with some picks. We'll need everything we can get" Hadvar said

"Don't bother with that" The torturer dismissed "Lost the key ages ago. Poor fellow screamed for weeks

Shin turned towards Ralof "Do you have any lockpicks on you?"

"Here, I've carried my own" Ralof responded, as he pulled a number of lockpicks from his pouch and handed it to Shin

"See if you two can get it open" Hadvar said "You're going to need that gold when we get out"

"Sure, take all my things, please. I insist" The torturer said in a sarcastic tone

"If he says one more word..." Shin gritted, as he kneeled down

"Don't mind him" Hadvar said "Just focus on picking those locks"

'Okay...time to see if my theory is right' Shin thought to himself, considering he never picked a lock. But...as he fiddled with the lock, it felt like he did this before...but couldn't remember when. After a few second, he turned the keyhole with the picks, until a slight click could be heard

He then took picks out from the lock, slid them into his pouch, and opened up the cage. But as he stepped in, he hesitated, considering he was about to loot a corpse, he was basically grave robbing. Sure he did it before...but not in real life!

But, knowing that he would need it more, he began to remove the mages robes and grabbed the septims and the minor magicka potion. The last thing he picked up was the Spell Tombe: Sparks. But, as he opened the book, it immediately dissapeered in his hands in a puff of smoke

As the book disappeared, he suddenly got a minor headache...but in it's place, was an clear understanding how to use the Sparks spell, as small sparks of lightning formed in his palm

'So, it is like the game! With my new body, it has given me a new variety of skills that I couldn't do before. And once I opened a Spell Tombe, I immediately learned that spell!...I just need to figure out how to access and use them' Shin thought, as he got up and moved out of the cage 'Now...all I need to do is how to access my inventory'

"Is that everything?" Hadvar asked, causing Ralof and Shin to nod "Good, let's keep moving"

Ralof and Shin nodded as they followed the Imperial solider through another exi, which was a crumbling hole in the wall, leading into a cavern. But before Shin passed through, he caught something out of the corner of his eye. He turned around to see a small stool that had a satchel, a steel dagger, and a book titled "The Book of the Dragonborn"

'Well...if I am going to live here, I might as well learn as much as I can' Shin thought, as he grabbed all the item on the stool, and surprisingly...the satchel fitted every item Shin had in his hand 'A...magic satchel...okaaaay?' He thought, as he ran towards the "exit" and caught up to the two men

But as the three of them passed through, it revealed a dimly-lit hall with rusty dungeon cells

"There's no going out that way" The torturer said, but they all ignored them

The group went down the darkened path around a ruined corridor where they walked through another extension of the torture room. It was a long hallway that was lined with rust cages that hung from the ceiling, only small enough for a man to fit inside with his leg hanging out. While some of those cage were laying on their side on the cold stone floor

Within most of these cages, contained rotted corpses that were way to decomposed to be identified, revealing rotting flesh and bone. Others, had corpses that looked like they recently died, with flies flying all around them as their decomposing flesh emitted a very vile odour

As Hadvar and Ralof continued walking with slight repulsion, Shin on the other hand, was trying his best not to vomit due to the odour that surrounded the area. Thankfully, the smell didn't trail off towards another corridor. This time, it led them into a cave that was dimly lit with torches and with holes in the ceiling shining natural light down upon them

Helgen Keep, Lower Chambers (3rd Person POV)

After a few minutes of walking, the group came across a pathway that led them towards a small drawbridge with a large lever on the ground

"Let's see where this leads too" Hadvar said, as he walked up to the lever and cranked it with both hands

A sudden click could be heard from the other-side of the drawbridge as it suddenly fell forwards, allowing the group to continue their path out of Helgen

They quickly crossed the small drawbridge, various cracks in the wood could be heard from their combined weight

"RRRROOOOOOAAAAAARRRR!" But as they finished crossing the small drawbridge, they all heard the dragons roar despite them being deep underground. The cavern started to shake slightly as pieces of the ceiling broke off, blocking the way they came and broke the bridge into tiny splinters.

The group looked back towards the rubble, relived that they weren't directly under it

"Well, there's no going back that way" Hadvar said

"We should consider ourselves fortunate that it didn't come down right on-top of us" Ralof added

"I agree" Shin said "And thankful that it didn't fall much sooner"

Meanwhile, Hadvar scouted up ahead, checking more of the caves surroundings. His eyes eventually laid upon a passage, with a small stream of water flowing down from it "Let's see where this leads to" Hadvar said, pointing at the passage

Ralof and Shin looked towards where he was pointing, seeing the small stream of water flowing down through the cavern. They all then followed the small stream of water, hoping it may lead them towards a river outside of the caverns. As the followed the stream, the trio had passed a skeleton lying next to the passage

Right beside it was an iron dagger and a coin purse. Shin noticed the two items, while he was hesitant, he took the two items from the skeleton and sell them once they got out. After a few seconds of more walking, the group stopped when they saw that the stream of water was coming from a small opening in between the cracks of boulders that were intertwined with vines

"Damn..." Shin muttered

"Hmm...that doesn't go anywhere" Ralof said, with disappointment in hs voice

"How about over there?" Hadvar asked, pointing to another passageway

Ralof and Shin followed Hadvar down towards the passageway, hoping that it may lead to some sort of shortcut or even another possible exits. But with every blocked entrance and exit found, hope started to dwindle, some thought they may not find a way out of these endless caverns

But, as they went further down, further underground, the passage way interior suddenly shifted to one covered in some sort of sticky thread

"I have a very bad feeling about this" Shin said, chills going up his spine

"Please don't jinx it..." Ralof said

After a few seconds of walking through the white-thread covered passageway, they came across a large and open room. The group then all realized that the whole chamber was covered to the brim with spider webs. There were visable egg sacs poking out of the webbing. But what stood out was that there were two decomposed bodies hanging by a single thread on the ceiling

One body was that of a Skeever rat, while the other was a fully grown human. And if spider's did in-fact make this much webbing...where are they now

"Nope!" Shin whispered, as he backed away "Hell to the nope!"

"What's wrong?" Ralof asked

"Dragons, I can put up with! Spiders on the other hand, hell no!" Shin said/whispered "Especially big ones!"

"We should be fine" Ralof reassured "The dragon must've spooked them off. But, tread with caution and don't touh the webs" He said as he slowly brought out his iron axe, causing the others to do the same

One by one, each one of them jumped down into the spider web-filled chamber, while also being careful not to make a single sound. As the group slowly trekked their way through the chamber, they suddenly stopped when they heard the sound of a "clicking" nearby that echoed throughout the cavern, making it hard to pinpoint where it was coming from

The group stood back-to-back from one another, trying to locate the source of the clicking. They whipped their heads around the chamber, that is until Shin looked up, his eyes widened as two large spiders as big as a bear began to descend from the ceiling, each of their legs twitched as venom dripped from their fangs

"ABOVE US!" Shin shouted

Ralof instantly ducked as he whipped his head towards the ceiling, the caves light only revealing two large arachnids as they dangled from the ceiling

"Frostbite Spiders!" Ralof shouted, causing everyone to pull out their respected weapons

It was three against two large Frostbite Spiders, but those numbers suddenly changed when more Frostbite Spiders, these ones being the size of wolves began to crawl down the walls of the chambers. One of the smaller ones made the first moves, when it shot a glob of venom at Shin, who barely managed to dodge to oncoming attack

A the two bear-sized spiders made their way down the chamber, the smaller wolf-sized spiders made their way towards the ground and surrounded the group. Ralof, Hadvar, and Shin backed into one another, making sure not give one of the spiders an opening.

Ralof was the first one to act, striking one down with his war axe, but suddenly turned and slashed another one before it managed to pounce on him. As another one tried to shoot an glob of venom towards Ralof, he blocked the attack with the blade of his axe, before bringing it down by splitting its head open as green blood stained the once white webs. Another spider pounced on Ralof and pinned him to the ground. But before the spider drove it's fangs into him, he managed to push the spider off and onto its side and brought his axe down on it, cutting it in half

As Ralof was dealing with the smaller ones, Hadvar and Shin had to deal with the larger Frostbite Spiders that made contact with the ground...much to Shin's dismay.

As one of the giant Frostbite Spiders made the first move towards Hadvar, he blocked one of the spider's front legs as it went for a strike, shoving it away as it stumbled backwards. As the spider quickly recovered, instead of attacking with it's front legs again, it bared it's fangs out as it lunged towards him. Using that opportunity, Hadvar side stepped as he brought his sword over his head, before bringing it down on one of it's many legs, cutting it off.

The spider screech in pain, backing away as blood began to "spit" out of it's stub. Taking another chance, Hadvar charged towards it with his blade out. The spider saw this and tried to counter the oncoming attack, but it was too late. Hadvar brought the tip of his sword down onto the spider's head. The spider struggled and spasmed as it's movements became slower and weaker...until it was no more, Hadvar has killed the larger spider

Shin on the other hand...had no such luck. Ever since he was little...well, littler, he was and still is terrified of spiders. He doesn't know where the fear came from...maybe it came from an old Japanese monster movie. Regardless, unlike Ralof or Hadvar, Shin wanted to keep some distance between him and the bear-sized spider

The giant Frostbite Spider made the first move by crouching down and lunging towards him with its fangs bared. Panicked, Shin ducked and jumped out of the way before the spider's attack could make contact. The spider quickly moved, preparing for another pounce. As it did, one of it's fangs managed to break Shins skin and punctured his flesh. But before the spider went in for another strike, Shin managed to use his tail to pull out an iron dagger and drove it into the giant Frostbite Spider's abdomen, making it screech out in agony as it backed off.

Shin started to breathe heavily, he held his arm in pain as a mixture of blood and green venom began to drip down his arm. Thankfully, his newly-acquired Argonian blood made him resistent to poisons and other diseases. But as a precaution, he drank one of the healing potions, as his wound began to close up almost instantly. As he recovered, Shin noticed that the iron dagger was still in its abdomen. This gave him an idea as he summoned the Sparks spell, sparks forming in his palm

'Physics...don't fail me now!' Shin mentally shouted, as he fired small sparks of lightning from his palm and towards the dagger.

As the sparks made contact with the dagger, the spider began to screech out in agony as the constant flow of electricity flowed throughout its body. It's innards began to cook as its blood began to boil from the constant heat coming from the sparks. Eventually, it's eyes started inflate like a balloon from the constant steam throughout it's body. Its eyes grew bigger and bigger, until...they suddenly popped out of it's eye sockets. The Frostbite Spiders cooked body fell to the ground as its corpse began to emit steam, due to the cold air in the chamber

It was after Ralof killed the last wolf-sized spider by bringing his axe down on it did the battle finally end. Everyone began to collect themselves as they started to take deep and slow breaths

"What's next, giant snakes?" Hadvar muttered

"Please don't say that..." Shin said "Tiny spiders were creepy and scary enough as it is! And now they're even more terrifying!"

"Aye, I'm with you" Ralof agreed "Even I can't stand the sight of them. Too many eyes, you see"

"They alway were a...loathsome nuisance in Skyrim" Hadvar said

"Glad to see that we're all in the same boat.." Shin trailed off "I can't stand those fangs...and those legs...ugh!" he said, shivers going down his spine

"Then, let's not linger here any longer" Hadvar suggested, as he wiped spider's blood off of his sword "I'd rather not stay here to see if there are more coming"

"Yeah...let's go...please?" Shin said, as he followed Hadvar with Ralof trailing from behind

As the exited the spider-filled chamber, they walked down another passage with a single lit torch on it's walls. And next to it, was another iron dagger and another minor healing potion.

'What's with the iron daggers?' Shin thought to himselF, as he knelt down, took the two items, and placed both of them into his satchel

Helgen Cave (3rd Person POV)

After a few more minutes of walking down the passageway, they went into another area of the cave, where there was another creek running down the ridge to their right. The air was also considerable much more breatheable than in the other chambers, meaning they might've been close to an exit

As they began to follow the creek upwards, Ralof noticed an abandoned cart that had a wooden long bow, a quiver with iron arrows, a huge coin purse, and three bottles of aged wine

Ralof chuckled "Don't mind if I d-!"

"Wait!" Hadvar whispered loudly to Ralof and Shin, while also pulling Ralof down to a crouch. Shin crouched down as well, wondering what Hadvar saw

Ralof turned to him with an annoyed glare "What is it now, Hadvar!?"

"Look!" Hadvar whispered, as he pointed to the other side of the cave

Ralof turned around, as Shin looked over Hadvar's shoulder, only to see a fairly large Cave Bear sleeping under a small hole, bathing in the sun's light in the corner of the cave

"There's a bear, just up ahead!" Hadvar warned

"Seriously!?" Ralof said with surprise "There are three of us here. I'm sure we can take her down"

Hadvar shook his head "I don't really feel like tangling with her, especially after the spiders!"

"Oh, come on, grow a spine, would you?" Ralof insulted, as he looked towards the wooden bow. An idea popped into his head, as he turned towards Shin "Hey, lad, why don't you use this bow. Might surprise her, though"

Shin shook his head "I agree with Hadvar. Besides...I don't think one arrow is enough to take it down. But I will take the bow" He said, as he took the bow from Ralof's hands

"So, what do we do now?" Ralof asked

"I say we sneak by" Hadvar suggested "But, we'll need to stay close to the wall, take it slow and watch our step"

Ralof and Shin nodded in agreement as they began to slowly move across the cave. Still crouched down, the followed Hadvar and stayed close to the caves wall, hiding in the darkness as they carefully watched their steps. Each one of them had to hold their weapons across their chest, considering it would make too much noise if it scrapped ascross the stone wall and the ground

Unfortunately, Ralof wasn't watching where he was going and stepped on a small twig, making a crunching noise that echoed throughout the cave. The sudden sound made everyones heart sank as the bear started to move. Everyone began to hold their breath, worrying that somehow the bear might be able to smell them. But thankfully the bear only shifted to lay on it's side, its back turned towards them

Everyone let out a small sigh of relief and they continued to sneak their way past the Cave Bear. After several minutes of sneaking, they finally made their way out of the Cave Bear's view

"That was close..." Shin said

"Hey, look!" Ralof said, pointing right behind them

Hadvar and Shin looked where Ralof was pointing, only to see light shining at the end of the cavern. They were now near the exit of the cavern! The cold air of the outside rushed throughout the cavern, confirming where they were

"That looks like the way out!" Shin said in a relived tone

And not wanting to stay any longer, Hadvar, Ralof, and Shin decided to run the rest of the way out!

And all of that...was just the beginning. Brandon, a boy from Earth was transported into the world of Tamriel through mysterious means and was turned into his avatar, an Argonian that goes by the name "Shin". It may not seem like it, but there is more to him than meets the eye. The many tales of the boy-turned-Argonian have only just begun!

But, in-case you couldn't tell, this story is an adaptation on my most recent play-through of Skyrim, with a few added tweaks to the story such as dialogue and additional actions. Some quests will be mixed up with one-another, while some mods that will add lore to the game will be included

For now, here's a small list of mods I'll include in the story:

- More Draconic Aspect Mod

To be honest, Dragon Aspect was kind of underwhelming. This mods adds a little bit more to the shout, which includes growing a pair of ethereal wings that can make you fly!

- Disenchant Anything Mod

You know one of those items that has a REALLY good enchantment, but is on a really bad weapon, well this mod is for you! You can disenchant ANYTHING, including Daedric artifacts!

- Dragon's Blood Castle (Player Home)

I do like the Hearthfire DLC, but when it comes to designing a player home, your options are slightly limited with how much you can actually put in. So, I included a mod that gives a better home for your avatar, including an armoury, kitchen, bedroom, follower's room, and even an outdoor deck

However, the player home won't make an appearance until much later on, during the Dawnguard arc

- Limitless Enchantments Mod

I know that this mod seems a little overpowered...and you're right! But the catch is, you need to get your enchanting skill to level 100

- Thunderchild: Epic Shouts and Immersion

This mod will introduce over TWENTY-NINE new shouts to the game!

Now, I may include other mods in the future. But for now, I'm satisfied with the list

I see that most of these fan-fics usually include Imperials, Nords, or any other human character as the main character/Dragonborn. So, I wanted to do something different like..."a man's soul trapped in a lizards body". It's not reincarnation, but technically is...kinda

However, with Brandon (or Shin now in Skyrim) he's still partially human. So expect him to do things that other Argonians can't, such as facial expressions and more versatility with his tail like a snake. This is so that way he "stands out" more

Also, to keep track of his progress, I'll be including a small "perk" and "inventory" card at the end of each chapter, if there are any major changes
