Patrolling unknown terrain

BP stood outside the crashed Callisto Lancer, he sighed into his palm and walked towards it. He looked at the main cockpit, a massive tree branch had broken through the glass. It had also impaled him so already in a new world and he'd already had to respawn. Luckily the rookie hadn't taken any damage. Speaking of which…

"Sparky, need to talk for a bit"

His ghost appeared next to him

"Yes?"

"It's about the rookie"

"I'm guessing more about her origins than her actual skill"

"Yes, I guess so. I've never seen an Eliksni Guardian"

"I have heard of other species being able to become Guardians, just that it's a lot rarer for them to become guardians"

The two stayed silent for a bit. Looking up BP examined his ship

"Damage report, how's the ship doing?"

"Well, I got some good news, and some bad news"

"Good news first"

"Engines intact, so is the NLS drive, and the fuel tank is also good"

"And the bad news"

"Hull integrity is at 20% and our windscreen has a hole in it"

"I can see that"

"Other than that, it's going to take some time to repair the ship"

BP sighed "well, at least the important stuff isn't damage. About how much time do you estimate?"

"Well if I have the sufficient resources, then I assume….three months. Give or take"

"Give or take...and if we have the rookie help us?"

"That's what I based my calculations on" she deadpanned

"Oh. speaking of which i'm going to go check on her"

Sparky returned to his backpack. Re-entering his ship through the massive hole on the side he made his way to the back. Opening the door he noticed that the bed was unoccupied.

"Um…"

Then he felt himself get thrown on the floor. Before he could get up his arm was twisted behind him, instead of fighting back he waited a bit. Looking down he saw a hunter's blade and sighed.

"You done?"

"What" she asked

"I said, are you done?"

"What the hell do you mean by that?"

BP sighed

"Actually, I don't need to answer that" she raised the knife closer to his neck "Tell me where I am right now, and maybe I won't have to carve your neck out"

BP rolled his eyes "You hunters always jump to conclusions. First, we're on my ship and we crashed landed on an unknown planet"

"What? Wait, how do you know I'm a hunter?"

"For starters, that's the knife most hunters get when they finish their training. It's not until later in their career that they forge their own knife, or buy"

"Wait...you're a guardian as well?"

"Yup. Titan to be precise"

"Then why didn't you try and fight back?"

"Because, A) it wouldn't have done much to calm you, and 2) I would've won anyways….Mind getting off of me?"

The hunter let go of his arm and got off BP's back. Standing back up he noticed that the hunter was probably around 5'6" meanwhile he was 5'11". So there was an obvious stature difference.

"Alright, it's best if we start with introductions" BP stuck his hand out "BP-45, Titan."

"...Andromeda, Hunter"

"I thought you would have a name that ends with is? Most Eliksni do"

The hunter froze and stared at BP "you...know?"

"Yeah"

"And there's no qualms? No aggression towards me? Why?"

"Because, you're a guardian. There's no point fighting amongst ourselves if we have a bigger threat to face. Besides, you assumed I would attack you instead of knowing all the details"

Andromeda drooped her head a bit "Yeah, I kinda did...sorry"

"Don't worry about it. But there's an old saying, it goes 'to assume would make an ass of both you and me' "

BP heard andromeda snicker, walking out of the room he looked around his ship. The communications were probably up and running and thankfully the transmat beacon was still functional.

"At least we have a home base for now"

"Um, BP?"

"Yes Andromeda?"

"Are those new kinds of taken?"

"Wha-" BP looked out of the ship and saw multiple black wolves. They stood on their hind legs and were hunched over. BP noticed the bone protruding out of their back and face.

BP drew out Rose and reloaded it "How much kinetic ammo do I have Sparky?"

"Around 143 rounds, or 13 magazines"

"That should be enough"

Immediately BP leveled Rose and shot the closest wolf in the head, it took two shots before it's head smoked and it collapsed. The other wolves noticed their fallen comrade and howled into the air. BP expected a fight but instead they just looked around for a bit.

"That's...odd?"

Before he could do anything else a three round burst of bullets whizzed past his head and killed another wolf. Turning his head he saw Andromeda wield a Jian-7 pulse rifle. This time the wolves growled and charged at Andromeda.

BP raised Rose and shot two more wolves dead, 7, turning his head he saw andromeda miss some shots but was able to take out three more wolves. BP looked up and saw at least 10 more wolves. He raised Rose but was blindsided by a wolf.

"Dammit"

Kicking it off him, the wolf staggered and BP capitalised on it. Grabbing it by the shoulders he kneed the wolf twice. The wolf tried to fight back by biting him but BP headbutted it, cracking the bone mask. Strapping a pulse grenade on it he threw the wolf at a trio and the four were killed.

Looking over Andromeda he saw her struggling against a wolf, she had dropped her gun and was trying to outmatch the wolf with strength. It was obvious the hunter would lose, raising Rose he discharged three shots into its body and the wolf crumpled. Andromeda looked at him.

"I had it"

"No you didn't"

BP turned his head and saw the final five wolves, they debated what to do and decided to retreat. BP sighed and removed his helmet, his optics looked at the hunter as she approached him.

"I could've dealt with that wolf"

"It was obvious you were losing"

"And? I can be brought back"

"You Rookies and that mentality"

She removed her helmet and glared at BP "what is that supposed to mean?" she growled out

"Just because you can be brought back from the dead doesn't mean you're immortal. Better to win a fight than lose and be brought back"

She glared at him a bit longer until finally sighing. She ran a hand through her hair and looked up at BP "Fine"

Looking around the battlefield he noticed that the wolves disintegrated into black mist.

"That's odd"

"What? What is?"

BP walked up to the wolf and had Sparky scan it "normally, when we defeat an enemy our ghost's are able to synthesize ammo from it"

"Wait, that's how that happens" she extended her palm and from it emerged her ghost, it had a standard ghost shell but it was painted a navy blue and magenta "you told me the ammo just magically appeared"

BP turned his head and looked at the ghost "you know most ghost's are inherently snarky, right?"

"He has a point you know" her ghost said "names Glacier, nice to meet you"

"Nice to meet you too Glacier"

BP looked around the clearing, then he looked at the damaged ship.

"Alright let's set up camp for the night. Tomorrow we can try and find any forms of civilization"

"Yeah, ok"

As the moon rose and the stars glimmered in the sky, a small fire lit up a clearing. BP looked at Andromeda, the Eliksni was eating some rations provided by the vanguard, well more like his rations. But being an Exo meant that he didn't necessarily need to eat, he just enjoyed it.

"Um BP?"

"Yes Andy?"

The Eliksni looked puzzled, "Andy?"

"It's a nickname, andromedas to long to say so I shortened it to Andy"

"..It's nice. Thanks"

"Not very sociable huh?"

"When your entire race is known for killing, scavenging, and more killing people tend to shy away from you"

"I see...anyways you wanted to ask me something?"

"Yeah, how do Exo's eat?"

BP thought about it for a bit "Well, Exo's have synthetic organs that act similar to stomachs and stuff. The food is turned into energy and the waste is destroyed in the body"

"Ok, but you're not eating now. Why is that?"

"Exo's don't necessarily need to eat. We just do it for the pleasure of it"

"Oh. That's...cool?" she said unassured

"I think it's neat" with that BP opened up a small pouch, from there he drew a cigar box

"You smoke?"

"Nope"

"Then wha-" BP drew out a thin wax item, it's tip was sharpened and had some paper wrapped around it. Taking a bite out of the blue crayon BP chewed a bit and swallowed.

"Umm?" Andy said

"What? Crayons are good"

"But...it's made out of wax"

"So? They still fill you up. Besides, you don't see the value in having crayons on hand"

She smiled coyly and leaned back "I dunno, crayons seem kinda useless"

"That's inexperience speaking. Crayons can be used as snacks" he took another bite "means of communication, a weapon-"

"Weapon?"

"Yup, sharpen it and you got yourself a blade. Anyways, they can be used as a tool for torture"

"What-how? It's a crayon?"

"And hot wax hurts"

The hunter sat silently, nodding slowly at it "I...see"

"Yup, crayons are basically the swiss army knife for titans"

The two sat in a comfortable silence for a while, eventually andromeda decided to speak up

"how long have you been a guardian?"

"Hmm?"

"Like, you know? How long have you been a titan?"

"well...around...I guess 170 years"

"What!"

"yep...I think Zavala is close to 600 years"

"You've been alive for that long? Wow"

"What about you?"

"Oh um...don't laugh"

"I won't"

"20 years" she said sheepishly

BP simply nodded "That's not that bad"

"But you're a veteran, I'm just a…"

"Rookie?"

"Yes" she moped

BP stood up and sat next to her "There's nothing wrong with being a rookie. You've just started with your journey as a guardian, besides with the proper training and discipline you could turn out to be one hell of a hunter"

"You think?"

"I know"

The two sat silently for a bit, then Andromeda decided to speak up "Thanks"

"For what?"

"The encouragement"

"No problem. Now get some rest, tomorrow we got a long day ahead of us"

Andromeda nodded and stood up. When she was a good distance away BP looked up at the moon, the way it was shattered and the debris falling around it he sighed. Uncharted territory was a Guardians worst nightmare. Veteran or not he would have to get the needed resources to fix the ship.

"Sparky?"

His ghost appeared "Yes?"

"How much glimmer do we have?"

"Around 80,000"

"How much do we need to fix the ship"

Her fins opened and closed "around 250,000"

"Great, I think it would be best to save up some glimmer for ammo and other necessities. We can try and find the proper resources to repair the ship"

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. What about the hunter?"

"I can teach her some things but shes gonna have to develop about her class' abilities on her own"

BP looked at his hand and an orange glow emerged from it "I'm thinking of using solar energy for a while"

"Try not to let your pyromancies get a hold of you"

"Noted"

BP sat outside and took watch. Holstering his Rose he pulled out his salvagers salvo and cleaned it. He looked up into the night sky. Whatever the world held in store he would face it head on.

That concludes this chapter. A couple things to note, my Destiny lore is a bit rough around the edges, so if I get something wrong then kindly help me out. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you on the next one.
