Arc One: Mystery

Chapter Two: Goblin Out of Water

Time stopped right when that thought crossed my mind.

It all made sense, PERFECT sense, but I don't know how I should feel about it. On one hand, I'm like "I'm a pokemon.", but on the other hand, I'm like "I'M A POKEMON?!" I mean, I was a human before, at least I think I was, and like any human, I would wonder what it would feel like to be a Pokemon, and now I am, but under different circumstances. VERY different circumstances I didn't want to happen. Beggers can't be choosers, I supose.

"Hellooooooooooooo. You there?" Right, there's a Pichu on my head...what do I say to him?

If I recall correctly, I was a lone Lycanroc in my world. I didn't talk to people unless I had to. Not that I didn't like to talk to people, it's just that I wasn't very good at "breaking the ice", if you know what I mean. I just preferred to stay alone, but, secretly, also wanted to talk to someone to.

GAHHH! Why does my head have to be so scrambled?

I then heard the dark voice yell from behind me. "What the heck are you doing out here?"

"Will you stop acting like that?" The second voice called out. "He just woke up. He's beaten up, too. Give him sometime to firgue out what's going on."

The two then started to trade blows with one another. I wonder if they do this a lot.

"I know what you need." The Pichu on my forehead says.

I then feel him jump off of my head, but almost immediately he bounces straight back to his spot on my head. His face once again appears in front of me, but this time he has something blue and round in his paws.

"Here, eat this." He said as he dropped the thing into my hands, which I almost drop.

I sniffed the blue object. It smells pretty good. I am a little hesitant to take a bite out of it, though. Sure, they just saved my life, so I doubt that this is some kind of poison, but...what if it has a bad taste.

"Don't be scared." He says with a smile. "Oran berries will make you feel better."

With the big smile on his face, I give in to the Pichu's plead. Slowly, my mouth comes to the surface of the berry. One bite from it, and I felt energy from the berry beginning to flow though my body. It was like magic.

I found myself plowing though the berry very quickly. Not only do I feel better, but I also fill pretty powerful, and it tastes super good.

"See, what did I tell you. They do make you feel better, don't they?"

I nodded. Unfortunately, I forgot the Pichu was on my head, and he soon landed head-first on the platform that I'm sitting on.

"I'm sorry. I-" I started, but in a blink, he went back on both of his feet.

"No problem, it didn't hurt." He chuckles, while rubing his head.

I decided to look around to see who the two other Pokemon are. One of them was mostly black, but had some blue and yellow scattered on him, even had some red around his eyes and nose. Both his head and the end of tail both had a shape of a star, with the one on the tail yellow and the one on the head black and also worked as a mane.

A Luxray.

The last one had a big, long blue neck that towered over me. It's head had a horn in the middle of it's face, with two more horns, ones like a ram, were on the sides of her head. I then realized that the neck was connected to the platform I was on, no wait, it's a gray shell.

It must be a Lapras.

Great, I can name Pokemon off the top of my head, yet I can't remember why I'm one in the first place. I slap my face. STUPID MEMORY LOSS!

I then hear someone clear their throat. I turn around to see the Luxray slowly approching me. By the look on his face, it looks like he lost the argument to the Lapras.

"Sorry about...early. I shouldn't have asked you so soon, or spoken harshly to you as well." He says. He then looks back at the Lapras, who's sticking her tougue out at him.

The Luxray is bothered by it, but turns his attention back to me. "My name is Bolt, the Lapras' name is Melody, and it looks like you've met Sparks already."

I thank the three Pokemon. "Th-thanks for the rescue. I...don't know what would happen to me if you didn't come."

Sparks then put his paws on his chest. "That's what rescue teams are for."

Rescue teams. Never heard about those before. Come to think of it, where are the trainers? Shouldn't they be right next to them?

...

Oh no. A terrible thought just crossed my mind. I'm not a human-turned Pokemon in a human world, I'm a human-turned Pokemon in a Pokemon world!?

Please tell me that I'm wrong.

"So what's your name?" Melody asks me.

Of course, my name...No, no, no, I can't forget my name. Of all things, NOT MY NAME. Come on think, what was it?! My mind is in so much chaos, that I don't even realize that I just said something.

"...Red..."

I turn white. That can not be right, but it's too late now. Besides, it's not like I can remember it anyways.

"Well Red, we will arrive at the island shortly. So just sit back and relax until we get there."

Wait, an island, here, REALLY?! I can't wait. I fall onto my back. The sooner we get there, the sooner I can get all this weight off my chest.

"So Red," Bolt asked, "are you going to answer my question?"

"Wha?"

Bolt ingulfed himself with electricity. "What were you doing drowning in the middle of the sea?!"

You're not the only one who wants to know.

"Bolt! You're going to make someone jump off of me again. Apologize right now!" Melody demands.

Bolt complains. "I just did apologize."

"Well, do it again." Melody says with a straight face.

The Luxray looks very defeated. He may have the type-advantage, but the look from the Transport Pokemon says otherwise.

"...sorry..." I chuckled a little. It was pretty funny to see him get humiliated.

"So what happened?" Sparks said, "Did you fall off the cliff, or did you swim a little too far, or ma-"

"Don't be ridiculous. He's a Fire-type." The Gleam Eyes Pokemon said.

"Not all Fire-types hate water, you know?"

"All the ones I've seen hate it."

I need to say something, but I couldn't lie, right?

...it's better than looking like a fool, I guess. Besides, I think I liked swimming as a human, just not when my life depends on it.

"Yeah, I was taking a swim. I think a Pokemon attacked me and I fainted."

I mean, I was all beaten up. What do you think I should have said?!

"See, he WAS going for a swim." Sparks said to the Luxray.

He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Do you need anymore help or are you good?"

"No, I think I'm good. I just want to get back onto that beach."

The Lapras smiles, "Don't worry about it, just sit down and rest."

I took another look at the island. It looked very large, and was only getting bigger the closer we came to it. The beach had a huge rock wall on the side. The top of it looked almost like a Sharkpeedo.

That place looks amazing, and I can't wait to see what's on it.

"We're here."

I opened my eyes. I guess I must've fallen asleep. I look down. The first thing I see is the sand on the beach.

"Lllllllllllaaaaannnnnnnnndddddddddd!" Before I knew it, I had jumped off the Lapras' shell onto the sandy beach. Sure it hurt a little, and I was still a little wet so the sand was sticking on me, but I don't care. I'm on land again, and I make sandangels to celebrate.

"Well he sure is happy to be on the beach." The Tiny Mouse Pokemon says.

I quickly get off of the sand and wave goodbye to them. They desire it, after all.

"Thanks again for everything."

"Just be a little more careful next time, ok. We're not always around." Bolt yelled.

Soon, the three of them were nothing but dots, heading over to the side, and then disappeared. I breathed a sigh of relief. Glad that's all over.

...now what?

I didn't know what to do now besides to get the sand off myself. I could try to remember how I got into this mess in the first place. But one thought made my head hurt.

No, not right now. But what else could I do.

I then remembered that I had never checked what Pokemon I was. I had been so distracted with everything else that was going on that I guess I forgot about it.

I look at myself once again. I was still had black legs with red toes. It looked like I was wearing a black hoodies on with red sleeves. I looked up. I had two big white ears on top of my head.

I'm a Raboot...YES!

If there was a Pokemon I wanted to be, it was a Raboot.

I smiled. I was really happy. At least I turned into a Pokemon I like. I'd hate it if I was a Watchog. I hate them so much.

My stomach rumbled. Hm, I guess almost drowning makes you pretty hungry, but what do I eat?

I scanned my surroundings. I spot a path on the side of the clif leading up to what looks like a small town.

Perfect, now I just need to-

I trip over my feet and fall flat on my face. Raboot's feet are much larger than human's feet. This is going to take some time getting used to.

I crawled over to and up the stairs. I don't want to taste the sand or the hard rocks. Besides, no one is watching me...I hope.

When I reach the top, my jaw drops to the ground. There was a dirt path down the middle with tents that looked like different Pokemon heads on both sides. There were also flowers and trees along the path as well, making it look very peaceful.

I guess this is what happens when Pokemon live on an island all be themselves. I knew they were smart, but this is next level.

Then I looked at the trees again. One of them had a small apple hanging from a branch.

FOOD!

I go to run over there, but I trip again, this time causeing me to roll up into a ball and smash into the tree.

I hope no one saw that.

I then sit back up. The apple is still there, just waiting to be eaten. My mouth is watering. I couldn't wait to grab it.

"On hold." I think to myself, "I'm a Raboot. I can just jump up and grab it." I smile. It's time to see what I can do.

I move my body up and down, preparing myself to jump. And then, liftoff.

I underestimated how powerful my jump would be, as my forehead makes direct contact with the surprising thick branch. I then come crashing down to the ground.

I REALLY hope no one saw that.

The next thing I feel is something hitting my head. I can't catch a brake, can't I?

One look though makes me forget the pain. It's the apple I was trying to get. Victory! I immediately grab it and take a bite of it. The berry was good, but this apple...

THIS APPLE IS THE BEST APPLE I'VE EVER HAD.

I wolf down the apple as fast as I can. Before I know it, it's nothing but a core. I toss it over to the side.

...now what?

I start to look around. Pokemon were everywhere. An Eevee was talking to a two Kecleons in a Kecleon tent, a Sunflora was walking next to a Loudred, and a Ekans was chasing a Rattata around.

I then saw something on top of a hill. I could only something pink with white at the end.

Ok, now this I have got to see.

I look down at my feet. I then carefully start to move one foot after the other. The last thing I want to do is to draw more attention to myself.

As I get closer to the pink-white thing, I realize that I have to defeat my worst enemy that I had met not too long ago.

Stairs.

Crawling wasn't an option thanks to all of the Pokemon around me, so I had to try and walk up the stairs. Carefully I put my left foot ahead of me, then my right, then my left again, and then...

Before I knew it, I could see the object that had caught my eyes. I stumbled a little when I went off the stair, but thankfully I kept my balance. It was indeed pink and white, but those were just the ears. The rest of it was mostly pink with a white colored center.

It's a tent modeled off a Wigglytuff.

I start to laugh. It just so funny that I can't hold it in.

I then hear someone in the tent. "Come on, sweetie."

Oh no, someone's coming out of it. I dash over to a near by tree, but I didn't learn my lesson from before. Meaning that I once again trip over myself and form into a ball. I need to get better at walking before I start running.

"The sun will set soon. We need to get there while we still have time." A Wigglytuff says as it comes out of the tent. Thankfully, I had recovered from my tumble and moved behind a nearby tree. I don't think they saw me.

"I don't want to go, Mom." Another voice called out as it came out of the tent. It was as white as snow, sounded like a little girl, walked on all four, and had six lovely tails at the end.

It's not only a Vulpix, but an Alolan one, too. IT LOOKS SO CUTE!

"I had a dream again, so I don't want to go." She says.

The Wigglytuff turned around to face the Vulpix. I couldn't see her face, but it looked like she was trying to calm her down.

"Don't worry about that, sweetie." She said softly with a smile. "As long as I'm the Guildmaster and your mother, I'll let nothing harm you. You have nothing to fear."

Guildmaster? What the heck is a Guildmaster?!

The Vulpix looked down at the ground for a while, then lifted her head back up at the Wigglytuff.

"Okay. Maybe it was just a nightmare."

"That's the spirit." The Wigglytuff states. "Lets head over to the Apple Forest. We're running out of apples."

The two then headed past me down the stairs.

Now that I think about it, I could use some more food, and the apple I had was great, so why not have more? Besides, I think I'll need to get the hang of this body sooner or later. I decide to follow the two, but then I realize something.

Now I have to go DOWN the stairs.

Arceus, please help me.
