Chapter Two.

It's a busy night at the Hospital, there are doctors, nurses, and patients going about, one of the two nurses from earlier is in the hallway, carrying a clipboard, going over paperwork, the other nurse approaches them.

Nurse #2 - How is the patient?

Nurse #1 - Stable condition, he got lucky.

Nurse #2 - What was the cause?

Nurse #1 - It was a drug overdose, we also had to pump his stomach.

Nurse #2 - Alcohol?

Nurse #1 - Yup.

Nurse #2 - Like you said, he got lucky. Anything on him?

Nurse #1 - Nothing much, just a lighter, a pack of smokes, and a wallet.

Nurse #2 - Anything of interest in there?

Nurse #1 - Nope, just a few dollars, and an old college ID card.

Nurse #2 - What's his name?

The nurse reads the paperwork.

Nurse #1 - This can't be right.

Nurse #2 - What is it?

Nurse #1 - It says here that his name is Tai Kamiya.

That name rings a bell to the both of them.

Nurse #2 - The soccer player?

Nurse #1 - From the looks of it, Yes.

Nurse #2 - I remember him. It's a shame what happened.

Nurse #1 - Yup. An athlete that had a promising future.

Another nurse shows up.

Nurse #3 - What's going on?

Nurse #2 - Just going over paperwork.

Nurse #3 - Who's the patient?

Nurse #2 - Tai Kamiya.

The other nurse sighs.

Nurse #3 - Not this guy again. I'll notify Dr. Kido right away.

Nurse #2 - Dr. Kido? What does he have to do with him?

Nurse #3 - He's treated him before. Now get back to what you were doing.

The third nurse leaves, as do the other two.

In his office, Dr. Joe Kido sits at his desk, going over paperwork, known as being reliable, Joe started out with high expectations, trying to get out of the shadow of his father and brother, who are also doctors, in time, and with a lot of hard work, he had proved himself, and became one of the most successful and respected doctors in the city, there's a knock at his door.

Joe - Come in.

A nurse walks in.

Nurse #3 - Doctor.

Joe - How's the night shift tonight?

Nurse #3 - Busy, but that's not why I'm here.

Joe - What is it?

Nurse #3 - Sir, we have a patient that came in about a couple of hours ago, he was dumped at the front entrance.

Joe - Some people I tell you. How's the patient doing?

Nurse #3 - The patient had suffered a drug overdose, but he's stable now.

Joe - Good to hear.

Nurse #3 - Sir, the patient is Mr. Kamiya.

He sighs.

Joe - Oh lord, not again. Okay, Let me finish up here and I'll go check on him. Keep an eye on his room, make sure he doesn't try to escape.

Nurse #3 - Will do, Doctor.

Joe - Thank you.

The nurse leaves the office. Joe finishes his paperwork, and sighs, he knew this was going to happen again, he just knew, it began almost a year ago, one day he just happened to run into Tai, who had turned up after he had disappeared for a couple of years, he asked him for money, Joe complied, hoping that he'll straighten himself out, but he didn't, only turning up when he needs something, or if he wakes up in a hospital after a night of heavy drinking or drug use, never the less, Joe paid Tai's medical bills, hoping to gain his trust and try to help him, but he was now at the end of his rope, despite his second thoughts, Joe gets up from his desk, and leaves his office.
