Chapter 2

I'm sorry this took so long.

Five rangers ran to where a monster was attacking the city. Mick had called them when the attack had started and told them that he would try to get a hold of Preston and tell him to meet them there. The five rangers arrived at where the monster was attacking. "Ninja Spin!" they yelled in unison as they morphed and began fighting the monster.

"You rangers think you can stop me?!" the monster taunted as he was hitting the rangers.

Madame Odius stood on the roof of one of the buildings in the city. She was watching the battle play out and was waiting for the perfect moment to use her spell. She saw that the rangers were losing to her monster, and she definitely wanted to keep it that way. After letting the rangers fight for a few minutes, she decided that it was time to use her spell.

She cast her spell on the rangers and the rangers could immediately tell that something was wrong. Their ranger powers started failing and they all demorphed with their power stars landing a few feet in front of them.

Ninja Steel Base

"Preston! Preston! Come in!" Mick said into the communicator. He had been trying to reach the blue ranger since he sent the other rangers to deal with Madame Odius's monster. He sighed as there continued to be no response.

"Still nothing?" Redbot asked.

"No, and the others could really use his help."

The City

"Our power stars!" Calvin yelled and attempted to grab his yellow power star, but it shocked him. "I can't touch it!" The others also attempted to grab their power stars but ended up with the same result.

"That's right, rangers!" Madame Odius said as she came down to face them. "My spell will prevent you all from touching your power stars and using your ranger powers."

Madame Odius's monster grabbed the five power stars.

"You may have our power stars, but there's still one more ranger!" Levi countered.

"You mean the ranger that this power star belongs to," Madame Odius said as she held up the blue power star.

The five rangers gasped.

"She has Preston's power star," Brody said to the others.

"Then, where is he?" Sarah asked worriedly.

"Bye rangers," Madame Odius said as she and the monsters teleported away.

The five rangers went back to their base.

"Have you gotten a hold of Preston?" Brody asked Mick.

"No, I haven't," Mick said.

"Madame Odius already had his power star which means that she probably attacked him when he was on his way home to help his dad," Hayley pointed out.

"We have to find him!" Calvin said.

Brody, Calvin, and Hayley continued talking to Mick and Redbot on where Preston could be. Levi looked around and noticed that Sarah wasn't in there anymore. He figured that she must have stepped outside and decided to go check on her. His suspicions were right. He found Sarah right after he stepped outside.

"You ok?" Levi asked.

Sarah jumped a little and turned around. Hearing Levi's voice startled her a bit. She didn't expect any of them to come out with Preston still missing. "I'm fine," Sarah said. "Do they have any idea where Preston could be?"

"No, they don't," Levi said and then sighed. "But I might."

"What do you mean?"

"Preston lied earlier when he said his dad needed his help with something."

"Why would he lie?" Sarah wondered and then turned back to Levi. "And why would you know that he lied?"

"Because I know the reason he lied."

When Levi stopped talking, Sarah asked, "Well, why did he lie?"

"Because Brody asked you to the dance."

Sarah was confused. "Why would Preston care about that?"

"Because he wanted to ask you to the dance. He's been trying to ask you for weeks."

"He hasn't tried to ask me."

"Believe me, he has. Every time he wanted to ask you, you started talking about something else."

Sarah thought back on the last few weeks and how every time they were alone it looked like he wanted to ask something and every time she didn't really give him the opportunity to ask. "I-I didn't know," she stuttered.

"To be honest, I think he was kind of putting it off also," Levi tried to reassure her. "He was pretty nervous that you might reject him."

"Well, I didn't even realize he liked me."

"Really? It was pretty obvious."

"I guess I was just oblivious." She looked up at Levi. "He's going to be ok, right?"

"I don't know, but we'll find him. Why don't we go back inside?"

Sarah nodded and followed Levi back inside their base.

"Did you guys find anything?" Sarah asked as she and Levi got back inside.

"Not yet," Brody said.

"We have no idea where he could be," Calvin added.

"Try checking the woods," Levi said, and everyone turned to him. "I saw him walking that way when he was leaving school."

Mick began searching the woods for Preston where he managed found something that he believed could be the blue ranger.

"Let's go!" Sarah said as she was already heading out. Unfortunately, the alarm sounded.

Mick checked the computers and saw that Madame Odius's monster and Basher Bots were attacking the city.

"We have to stop them!" Brody said determined.

"But we don't have our ranger powers!" Hayley pointed out.

"But we can't let those monsters hurt any innocent people!"

"What about Preston?!" Sarah asked.

"I'll go find him!" Mick said. "You guys go but be careful!"

Four of the rangers nodded before heading out. Sarah stayed back for a minute. "Please find him," Sarah said to Mick.

"I will," Mick reassured her. "Now go! The others need you."

Sarah ran out to go catch up with the others while Mick left to go search for the blue ranger.
