Chapter two

Just getting started.

For a long while the six of the family members stayed put resting. Leni was still resting her head on Lincolns lap while Lucy is resting her head on his left shoulder. Before that they were talking about what Lincoln said about the sun not moving. When they realized he was right the girls were spooked by it. The sun stayed right at the same spot not moving at all. This caused Lana to have a little bit of a panic and start to ask questions so fast that nobody could keep up. Luna went over to Lana and kneeled on her knees and said that she needs to calm down. But Lana still kept going at it while looking down not listening to her. Luna reached for Lana and hugged her saying to her that everything will be alright and they will figure this out. At least she thought they would. Lana hugged her back and started to have tears on Luna's night wear and relaxed. After that they both rested sitting against the tree while Lana is on Luna's lap. After the other three was done watching Lynn went to another tree not too far away and leaned against a tree with her shoulder facing away from them. Lucy and Lincoln looked at each other for a moment. Lincoln patted his left hand on the rock for Lucy to sit down next to him. Lucy did just that and looked at the sky without saying a word. For a bit Lucy her self-started to get tired and wanting to rest on Lincoln's side. Lucy leaned her head on her brothers' arm and closed her eyes to ease her mind. Lincoln wanted to rest as well but didn't mind letting Leni and Lucy rest on him. Lincoln's mind was hoping that all of them can find a way back home. But knowing that the sun is not moving he thinks they're not on earth anymore? But Lincoln thought that was crazy. How could they not be on earth anymore? None of this was making sense to him, and that's what scared him the most. Leni and Luna were hurt.

"How can this get any worse?" Lincoln whispered.

Things can and will get much worse, much-much more…..

After they got their rest, minus Lincoln, they had to get moving. Which will be little tuff do to the fact that Leni's leg is still hurt. Lincoln had to support Leni's left side to help her stay up. It will slow them down, but this was the best that they can do. Luna, Lynn is taking the lead while Lucy, Lana is sticking with the other two. The path that they were taking seemed like it was going nowhere. There was so many trees that looked the same and it didn't help because they couldn't really see what was up ahead. For what seemed like forever, because of Leni, they notice they were slowly going up a hill.

"This is good, maybe now we can get a view of where we are," Lynn said.

"Yeah dude, and it looks like the trees are toning down too" Luna said a relief. While she was walking up, she looked back behind her and looked at how many trees there are. Soo many that you can't even tell which one is the main. It was making Lunas head hurt just by looking at it.

Leni and Lincoln were having a hard time keeping up with them. It was hard enough when they were walking on flat ground, but now they are going up, it was a greater challenge. Leni will sometimes wince from having her left leg move to much. Lincoln was getting tired from having to keep Leni up but he had to push himself to keep going.

"I'm sorry Lincoln," Leni said with quiet sobs.

Lincoln looked at him with a smile "don't be Leni, you are my sister." While walking keeping her steady, he quietly said "you would have done the same for me." Him and Leni smiled warmly at each other and heard Luna shout.

"Hold it!".

Lynn was looking at what Luna was seeing. The other four was confused, for a moment until they saw something familiar, more bear traps. They were scattered around the hill that the Louds were going. Except that these ones aren't hidden like the first one Leni encountered. These traps seemed more of a threat because they seem fresher and not rusted and they also hooked to the ground. The bear traps weren't as close to each other, which means if they careful they can pass by. But there was one big problem, Leni. They would have to go one by one to get through. Which mean Leni would have to go by herself. With her leg like that she will have a hard time keeping her balance and the risk of falling in to one was far greater.

Lynn not taking her eyes off the traps said to Luna, "still think that bear trap was not meant for us?"

Luna sighed not saying a word to her. She thinks Lucy was right what she said about the traps were meant for them. She did fall in a trap herself, and look what it did to her hand. Luna felt her left hand being grabbed. Looking down to her left she saw a scared Lana

"Do we have to go through that Luna" Lana said with a frightened tone.

Luna looked at the others and they all had the same expressions, except for Lucy. She knew it would not be a good idea but what other options were there? She looked down the hill and saw nothing but trees and crystal dust orbs? In the sky distance she saw what looked like shiny orbs. Everyone else wondered what she was looking at so they looked to the distance as well. All of them had no clue of what it was? It was pretty looking, dancing orbs going everywhere. It was like a wall.

Lincoln was the first to speak "what is that out there?"

"It looks like some kind of dust orbs?" Lucy said.

But Leni was the only one that noticed something that scared her. When the smoke orbs reach some of the tree branches it died less than a second. But it was going so slowly you couldn't really tell from the distance. "Is it killing the trees?" Leni said with worry.

Lucy wondered what she meant by killing the trees? Lucy right hand moved her bangs out of the way revealing her right eye so she can look closely. When doing so she slowly saw one of the far distance tree branches being eating away by the orbs. Lucy let go of her bangs and looked at the others. "Leni's right, it's eating the living trees."

As Lucy said the rest of them knew what she was talking about. Whatever it was out there they did not want to find it if it reached them. Lynn was the first one to move and was looking for something around their area. Lincoln was confused at Lynn and asked her what she was doing? Lynn told them she looking for anything they can use to disarm at least some of the traps. Luna said that was a good idea and told Lana and Lucy to find anything around here that was strong enough to trigger one of them. After they searched, Lynn found one rock and Lucy found two, but Luna and Lana could not find anything to use. The area was just mostly grass up the hill with some trees but the body was too long to climb on. Lynn grabbed Lucy's rocks and said she will be the one going first while disarming some of the traps along the way. The rest agreed with her and said be careful to her. Lynn took a breath to relaxed and started to make her way. She would only use one of the rocks if it looked like a tuff spot to get around. As Lynn was carefully stepping by the traps, she saw one in her path that was way to close to each other. With that Lynn tossed her first rock at it and flinching so she won't get hit in the face if it splattered. And as she thought it did, the rock hit the trap and caused it to trigger. It smashed the rock into pieces with no problem. The others had a scared reaction as it happened. Lynn took another breath and moved on her way. Lynn made sure to go where it was the easiest way to get across without having to worry much. Lynn found yet another bear trap that was too close to another one. Same thing as again she tossed it and looked away as it disarmed while smashing the rock. Lynn thought she was doing a decent job finding a path for them. When she reached the three rows of bear traps acrost the hill each one of these were close as possible this time. She wanted to disarm the middle one so they can just step over the first and the second without having to jump over two. Lynn put the rock in her right hand and tossed it to the middle and shielded her eyes. The rock hit the middle of the trap and smashed it but something happened that shook Lynn. When she looked at the trap again it was still open like before. But Lynn noticed that these last three rows of traps seemed more advanced than the other ones below that. These ones were black as the others there were sliver looking. Lynn stood there for a bit thinking how were they going to get across? She looked at the others told them those ones reset themselves. Then after that Lynn thought of jumping it. But this will not be easy. Having to jump over three while it's slightly up the hill was something that would be risky, but no choice. Lynn can hear Luna saying "come back" but she ignored it. Instead, she cursed herself to do it and took a stance and went for it. Lynn Jumped and launched herself sideways going over the first two but the third one went off. Not catching her skin, but instead catching her ponytail and cutting it off with no struggle. Lynn landed and quickly crawled back away while breathing heavy. The others were shouting at either saying "Lynn are you ok!?" "Are you crazy Lynn!?"

"I made it didn't I?" Lynn said with a shaky voice.

Luna yelled at her angry "dammit Lynn you could have bent caught!"

Lincoln sighed with relief and said "Luna she made it, that is what matters."

Lana was still scared at the traps and was hoping she wouldn't have to go. "Now what Luna?" Asked her while holding on to her.

Luna was not sure now if she should let the others go? Lynn did find a good path way, but in the end it would be risky. There was no way that Leni herself can make that jump. But maybe Luna can help her get over that somehow? Luna looked at the other four and said she will help Leni with this one. Even though she is hurt herself she was able to still stand. Luna told Lincoln that he will help the little ones when it's their turn. Luna and Leni went on the same path that Lynn took only going a lot slower than Lynn did. Luna had to keep Leni calm because she was panicking from what those things did to her. When they both reached Lynn they stopped to take a breather. Lynn asked Luna of how were they going to do this? Luna looked at her right hand. She was still able to use her arm just not her hand. That means she can push Leni up while she jumps with her good leg while Lynn catches her. As Luna told them the plan Leni was not wanting to do it.

"No, no Luna please no I can't do it!" Leni in fear having tears coming out of the side of her eyes.

"Leni, I need you to trust me," Luna said while holding her up.

"What if I fa-fall in?" Leni now started to cry not wanting another leg being caught.

"I'm going to make sure you don't Leni, Lynn will make sure you don't as well."

Leni looked at Luna with fear and looking at the traps. "Promise Luna?"

"Promise." Luna knew there were risks but they had to do it if they were going to make it home.

Over a minute has past Leni now trusting Luna by her word. Luna asked Lynn if she was ready and she said yes with a little worry. Luna then asked Leni if she was ready and it took a bit to answer her.

"Y-yes."

With that Luna and Leni got as close to the edge of the traps as possible making sure not to lose balance. Leni had to stand on her hurt left leg and cause her to welp in pain while the other is on Lunas left hand. Lunas good arm is on Leni's back ready to pushed her up while Leni jumps forward. They both took a deep breath and relaxed getting ready for the real thing.

"Alright Leni, on the count of three you're going to jump towards Lynn." Luna saw Leni nodding as she was shaking. Luna took her stance and was ready. "one, two, three!"

Luna lifted Leni up with all of her strength while clenching her teeth. Leni did what she was told. She jumps off of Lunas hand going for Lynn. When Leni was going over the traps her sister Lynn was ready to catch her. Leni did not go far enough but lucky for her Lynn caught her over the traps with her arms. Lynn stumbled backwards with Leni in her arms and fell on her back losing her breath. Luna sighed in relief that she made it.

After they caught their breath Luna got ready for her turn. Luna made it with no problem. That kind of surprised Lynn for a moment. Lynn had to launch herself to get across, was it the size different? When they called out for the other three, they had a rough time keeping Lana cool. Lincoln had to hold Lana while Lucy did fine on her own. When they reached the end, Lincoln had to throw his little sisters across. Lana was scared but knew she had no choice. Lincoln did not have a problem throwing Lana to Lynn, she was only six so not that heavy. Lana did get spooked by being that close to the traps. Lucy was a little bit heavier; she was eight but not much different. When it was Lincoln's turn, he had the courage to do it. When he jumped for it, he landed at the edge of the end and Lynn caught him before leaning back. After they all made it, they went up just a bit further up just to get away from the traps so they can sit down and relax.

For a while they were glad that they were ok and no one was hurt. All of the Louds were resting on the hill while some were looking at the orbs in the distance. Lana was resting on Lunas's lap and Leni resting her head on Lincoln's lap again while Lucy and Lynn sat next to each other looking at the strange dust orbs.

"It's getting closer, am I right?" Lynn asked Lucy.

"Yes, yes, it is."

"What do you think it is?"

"I haven't seeing anything like this before, not even the books I read."

"Fuck" Lynn mumbled.

Lucy looked at Lynn's hair seeing that her ponytail is now gone by that metal beast. "Did it hurt when it got your hair?" Lucy asked in curiosity.

Lynn took her eyes off the orbs and looked at her sister. "No, it cut my hair like butter." "I didn't even feel it when that happened."

"The jaws teeth had to be extremely sharp for that."

"No fucking shit!" Lynn said while having an angry tone. "Just what the fuck is going on Lucy?" "We wake up to place that apparently has a lot of these stupid traps everywhere and no one else is here but us." Lynn wanting to know why would anybody place this many traps like that on a fucking hill?

"I wouldn't know Lynn." Lucy said trying to hide her fear.

"Lunas's hand is fucked and so is Leni's leg." Lynn getting angrier. "I mean how is this even possible?" "We were at our house and everything was fine."

Lucy didn't respond to Lynn. Instead, she hugged her knees to her chest looking at the orbs.

Lynn looked at the ground with a sad look forming on her face away from Lucy. "I just want to go home." Lynn said to herself quietly.

They didn't rest long do to the fact that they needed to keep moving because the Louds didn't want those orbs to reach them. Once again Lincoln helped Leni while Lynn Luna was taking the lead like before. Lana, Lucy was in the middle this time. Their feet were starting to hurt by being bare footed and sometimes stepping on hard surfaces. At least it wasn't cold. When starting to reach the top there was a bit of trees at the top so they will have to go near the end at the other side to see wear there are. Lynn, Luna was ahead of them by a minute so the other four had to catch up to them. Once they reach the top, they had to meet Luna and Lynn at the other side. Leni's leg was getting better but not so much that she can walk herself sadly. Once the four found were the other two were they saw them standing not moving looking at something. Lincoln thought maybe they finally knew where they are now. Lincoln called out to them as they were walking to them, but they did not respond back to him. When Lincoln was about to call out to them again, he stopped his words as he got closer to them. When they stopped beside them them, they saw a view that none of them could imagen. There before them was a sight that they can't even explain if they tried. There was like four different layers of land, each of them looked like they were ten miles long. The first land was a burned up looking forest with fog on top of the dead trees. At the end it just cuts off like a wall leading to the next land which looked like a desert with a big large pyramid. After that they see in the distance was like a city that looked worn down and abandon leading to the next which is, water. That last of the layers was just water leading something at the end that none of them can make out. What they also notice the sides of the land including the one they were just at was filled with bear trap. Those looked more freighting because this time they looked red color. It's like to make sure they don't go around.

"Holey shit dudes." Luna said while trying to think straight.

"What the fuck even is this Luna?" Lynn said while putting her hand on her head.

"I think it's pretty clear that we are not at earth anymore." Lucy said with a shaky voice.

Lana started to breath rapidly and freaking out. "What are were going to do!?" "Why is this happening to us!?" Lana put her hand to the side of her face while curling up on the floor. "I want to go home; I want mom and dad!" Lana started to cry out loud.

Luna quickly sat down next to Lana and grabbed her setting her on her lap while trying to calm her down.

As that was happing Leni and Lincoln did not say a single word or make any noise. They both just looked at a world that they thought could never exist.
