Eda and Luz drove through the city to Eda's home Luz looked out the window as she looked around the Boiling Isles. "So why do they call this place Boiling Isles" Luz asked.
"Well believe it out not kid, this city is famous for some hot springs in the forest and mountain area." Eda replied. "The founder Diana Terrance relaxed in the hot springs and decided to settled here along with the other settlers."
"So hot tubs in nature, cool." Luz said.
"Yeah it's a pretty good tourist spot." Eda replied as she looked at Luz looking sad as she looked out the car window and she sighs. "Look I know where you're coming from. I'm sorry about what happened to your mother. My parents died in a car crash when I was 24. I was placed in charge of Elixir soda."
"Wow that's some story." Luz said.
"Sure, I made some business mistakes, but I'm still standing with my business." Eda said. "But I have a feeling that your friends are going to miss you back home."
"I don't have any friends." Luz replied.
"You don't?" Eda questioned.
"I was the oddball at my old school, I made some weird choices like my model of a griffin barfing spiders, using sausages as guts for a death scene at a Romero and Juliet death scene, flipping my eyelids inside out and most recently, I brought snakes for visual aid for my book report and the back up snakes escaped." Luz explained.
"So you're a weirdo?" Eda said. "I was a weirdo too, mostly because of my skin tone. But look at me now, I'm the C.E.O of one of the best soft drinks on Earth. Who knows maybe you'll be a success one day."
The car drove up to the gates, the gates opened up and drove upwards to a cottage with a pale white brick with three floors, in the upper centre is a stained glassed window shaped like a circle, and a blue roof, with a cliff overlooking the ocean.
Eda parks the car in the garage, as the two exited the car, they enter the cottage. "This is where you live?" Luz asked.
"What were you excepting a mansion?" Eda asked.
"Yeah, I mean you're rich." Luz replied.
"Not every rich person lives in a mansion Luz." Eda said as the two walked towards the cottage, they entered the cottage and they see a pale pink-orange walls, a 75 inch big screen tv, a red couch, some lamps, and a coffee table. There are some paintings on the wall as well.
"Anyway, let me show you to your room." Eda said.
The two walked upstairs to the 2nd floor and walked passed two doors. "Door one on the right is the supply closest, second door on the left is the bathroom, and the third door on the left is your room." Eda said as she opened the door and Luz sees an empty room, a sleeping bag, pillow, and a stained glass window.
"You really love stained glass windows?" Luz stated.
"Yeah I sure do. I know this room isn't much, your arrival was pretty much last minute." Eda said.
"It looks homey." Luz said as she walked inside the room and placed her suitcase and backpack on the ground.
"Don't worry I ordered a new bed for you, it'll come in a few days." Eda said. "Along with your dresser and other furniture."
"Well thanks for ordering my things." Luz said.
"No problem kid. Listen I'm thinking about ordering out. You want pizza or Thai food?" Eda asked.
"I guess pizza." Luz said.
"What would you want on your pizza?" Eda asked.
"Some pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers." Luz replied.
"Good no pineapple." Eda said as she walked out of the room. "I think we're going to get along just fine." Eda said as she closed the door.
Luz walked towards the window and opened it, she sighs as she looks out on the city. "New city, new life." Luz said.
Later that night Luz is asleep in her sleeping bag, she's tossing and turning in her sleep. She then hears hooting and it wakes up Luz. Luz gets out of her sleeping bag, she begins to walk downstairs in her sleepwear which is a white tank top and purple shorts. She walks towards the fireplace and sees a owl near a clock.
"Shoo!" Luz said as she waved her hands at the owl, the owl hoots and flies away. When Luz turns around, she hears something opening behind her. Luz turns around and sees the fireplace has turned into a staircase that leads downstairs.
Luz walks down the stairs and as she walks down the stairs, once she reaches the final step she sees a lair. A lair has a training area, a cauldron, large books on shelves, shelves filled with bottles and jars with weird objects and liquids, a staff with an owl on it and finally a display case with a suit with a crimson red bodysuit, a black cloak and a mask.
"What is this place?" Luz asked as she walked towards the display case.
"So." Luz turns around and sees Eda wearing a plum sweater with amber cuffs, a stained, long, violet nightgown, and light yellow bunny slippers. "So you found my lair?"
"Lair?!" Luz questioned. "What are you talking about?"
"Luz, you are the only one to know this." Eda said. "I am the Owl Lady." Eda said as she looked at her costume.
