Setting: Beach

Silver: Hey, Y/N. You know, there's something I've been wanting to ask you for a while.

No, this isn't about Kris. Just listen up.

Why did you let my old man join our team for the PML?

You know whom I'm talking about, right? The black-suited guy with the Mewtwo.

What's with that look? Did you not know that all this while?

[Choice selection]

⁃ I knew.

So you should already know about how I feel about him.

⁃ He's your father?!

You seriously didn't know? Man, you really don't know your own teammates very well.

Silver: Yeah, anyway, you do know that he's a bad guy, right? And you seriously let a bad guy join our team? Are you out of your mind or what?

[Choice selection]

⁃ He promised to change!

⁃ Brock, Misty and I are keeping an eye on him.

Silver: Hey, I've known him for over a decade, and I know what kind of person he is. Do you seriously believe that he will change just because he says so?

You want me to just tell you my story or what? It's going to be long, but don't you dare fall asleep while I'm talking.

A long time ago... we used to be a happy family of three living in Viridian City. My old man was the Gym Leader of the Viridian Gym. He was also a successful businessman who ran a Game Corner in Celadon City.

Our happiness didn't last long, though. Mother died when I was little, and her death took such a toll on my old man that he completely changed since she left us.

He withdrew from everyone, and even closed his Gym for an extended period after Mother's passing. When he finally came to, he was but a shadow of his former self.

He became obsessed with things like DNA cloning, money and power, and did not mind resorting to criminal means for them. That was when he started the infamous criminal organization known as 'Team Rocket'.

He also constantly told me that he was the strongest Trainer ever.

I was still little at that time, so I didn't care for what my old man was doing with his organization, but I believed him when he told me he was the strongest and aimed to be like him one day.

However, one day, he was defeated at the hands of two kids who had been to his Gym for their final badges.

He then announced to the whole of Team Rocket that he was disbanding their organization from that day on, and tried to run away from everyone.

I chased after him when I saw him leaving the Gym, and confronted him for being weak and pathetic, and running away just because he lost to two kids.

He told me some stuff that I could never understand to this day, but I'm certain he had just been using them as excuses for his weakness.

I then resolved to myself that I would be a strong Trainer all by myself, without him or anyone else. I hate the weak, and did not want to end up being a weakling like him.

That was how I ended up escaping to Johto, and stealing a few Pokémon throughout my journey.

Looking back now, I am ashamed of my own actions, as I had become the very person I did not want to be like.

Meeting Ethan and Lyra throughout my Pokémon journey, I eventually learned to care for my Pokémon and love them, regardless of whether they are strong or weak.

Then, here on Pasio, I met Ho-Oh, which decided to become my partner. I could have never believed that I was a pure-hearted Trainer, but Ho-Oh's decision showed me how much I have changed since the start of my Pokémon journey.

On the other hand, my old man... he hasn't changed at all! Just look at him in the eyes and tell me you don't agree!

I hate weak and pathetic Trainers like him.

...Humph. I spoke a lot, but it's not like you're going to do anything about him either way, right?

I wonder why I even bothered telling you all these...

Whatever. Since we're here on the beach, you want to do something fun? Like... building sandcastles?

Hey, don't laugh at me. Building sandcastles isn't just for little kids.

My family used to visit the beach often to build sandcastles together. But... it's not like those times can ever return again.

Still, who says I can't make new memories of building sandcastles with my friends right now?

Hey, get your partner Pokémon to help out. I'm getting mine to help us too.

[Choice selection]

⁃ Alright!

⁃ Let's do it!

Heh, that's the spirit. Let's get on with it already.

(Silver and Y/N worked together with their partner Pokémon to build a large sandcastle on the beach.

Once they were done, Y/N happily grabbed her Poryphone and readied her camera for a picture of the sandcastle.)

Silver: Hey, if you're going to take a picture, we might as well be in it. You don't want someone else taking the credit for building this sandcastle, do you?

[Choice selection]

⁃ That's a good point.

⁃ Let's get into the picture then!

Silver: Over here! Go change your camera to the front camera. Yeah, this angle should be fine. You have longer arms, so you take the picture.

(Silver and Y/N are standing close together to the right of their sandcastle while Silver's Ho-Oh is flying behind it, and Y/N's Pikachu on her shoulder. She takes a few shots on her phone.)

Silver: Those pictures weren't bad at all. Send them to me later, okay?

...Humph, it's always disappointing having to leave the sandcastle behind on the beach after all the effort we spent on building it.

Hey, why don't we write our names in the sand so that whomever sees this will know who made this?

I'll write my name here. Now it's your turn. Go on, take this branch and write your name in there too.

[Choice selection]

⁃ Alright!

⁃ Sure!

Silver: Huh? You look like you want to say something...

What?! You say this is what couples do all the time?

...Humph, and so what if that is the case? That has nothing to do with us, right?

...What are you staring at? Just leave me alone already.

(Silver had a slight blush on his face as he bashfully turned away and walked off with Ho-Oh.)
