After Ahsoka told Jason her name, he started asking questions Ahsoka was more than happy to answer. She also had several questions in her mind but Jason wasn't sure if he should tell her about his people and where they came from just yet.
Ahsoka could sense his hesitation to answer her questions but she also sensed that he had good reasons. But there was something about Jason that she found both strange and interesting. Every time she tried to use the Force on Jason, it didn't seem to have any effect on him. It was almost like he had some kind of natural resistance against the effects of the Force.
"How is it possible? No one's ever been able to resist the Force before," Ahsoka thought.
Jason noticed Ahsoka's suspicious look but let it aside because he thought she was just thinking who they were.
"Look, I know you don't have any reason to trust us but we have no intentions to harm you," Jason said.
"It's alright. I wasn't even suspecting that," Ahsoka said with a smile.
Jason couldn't help but get lost in the dream world because Ahsoka's smile and beauty kind of had a hypnotic effect on him. This didn't go unnoticed by Ahsoka who giggled at Jason's reaction. She did receive all kinds of reactions from boys through her beauty in the past but never anything like this. Luckily her giggle took Jason out of his dream world but felt really awkward now.
"I... I'm sorry. I don't what got into me," Jason said while running the back of his head.
"Don't worry, I understand," Ahsoka said kindly.
They were suddenly interrupted when Jason received a call through his comm-link. Jason let out a sigh before answering the call.
"Connor here," Jason said.
"Connor, it's Sheppard," Sheppard said.
"Do you need me for something, sir?" Jason asked politely.
"Come to the lab. There's something you should see," Sheppard said.
"Understood, sir. I'm on my way," Jason said.
After he turned off his comm-link, he turned to Ahsoka.
"I'm sorry but I've got to go," Jason said.
"It's okay. I'll be fine," Ahsoka said with a smile.
Jason gave Ahsoka a sweet smile before leaving the infirmary. After he left, Ahsoka couldn't help but blush when she thought about Jason. But she suddenly stopped when she realized what she was thinking.
"What is wrong with me?!" I just met that man. I can't possibly have feelings for him this soon, can I?" Ahsoka thought.
In the Lab
After Jason got into the ship's lab, he noticed that Jake along with Sheppard and Rodney were also there.
"You wanted to see me, sir," Jason said.
"Yeah, Rodney has something he wants to show us," Sheppard said.
Jason nodded and joined them to watch what Rodney was doing. But when he saw what Rodney was working on, his eyes widened. In front of them were two stone fishes, another looked like a hammerhead shark while the other looked like a normal fish (Aktirak and Martag from Atlantis the Lost Empire). But what caught his attention however was that the stone fishes looked more like some sort of vehicle rather than statues.
"What are those?" Jason asked.
"A little souvenirs we picked up from Malachor," Rodney said.
"Luckily your lab was big enough for them to fit in here," Jake joked.
"Oh, I'm sorry but I had no idea that I would get comments from a rookie," Rodney said feeling insulted.
"I'm just saying my opinion birdbrain," Jake said showing Rodney his tongue.
"What?! You just insulted my,-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. I think we're getting off the topic," Sheppard said calming them down.
Luckily it prevented the argument from getting worse and Rodney went back to checking the stonefish vehicles although he was still a little mad about Jake's insulting joke. After he was done, Rodney turned to his teammates.
"Alright. As you probably figured out, these stone fishes we have here are actually vehicles and not statues," Rodney said as he pointed at the vehicles.
"Yeah, we kinda figured it out," Jason said.
"Anyway, the point is that these are not just any vehicles. They were made by the Ancients," Rodney told them.
"No offense Rodney but they don't look like they were made by the Ancients," Sheppard said.
"That's understandable because these are the earliest versions of the Ancient vehicles," Rodney explained.
"You mean the Ancients used these before the Puddle Jumpers?" Jason asked as he pointed at the stone fishes.
"Exactly," Rodney confirmed.
"Which brings us to the question, how do they operate?" Jake asked.
Rodney picked his tablet from the table and showed the images from the scan to his teammates.
"Well, from what I was able to get from the scan. It seems that the vehicles don't have any power source in them," Rodney explained.
"So?" Sheppard asked.
"So, they're probably activated or turned on by some other means," Rodney explained.
"Such as?" Jake asked.
Rodney walked to the table and picked up a couple of blue crystals and showed them to everyone.
"I think these crystals are used as kind of keys to turn on the vehicles," Rodney said as he showed the crystals.
"How exactly?" Sheppard asked.
"All you need to do is put the crystal in the hole and turn, which will activate the vehicle's systems," Rodney explained.
"Kind of like a car?" Jake asked.
"Yep, except the energy from the crystals activates the systems," Rodney explained.
Jason took one of the crystals and examined it. It looked like an ordinary crystal except it seemed to have energy floating inside it. But it wasn't surprising that even the Ancients used the crystals as power sources because many races back home still used that method to power their ships.
"You want us to test if those vehicles still work?" Jason asked.
"Not yet I'm afraid. I still have to run some scans and we also need to find a perfect place to test them," Rodney said.
"I'm sure you'll figure something," Sheppard said as he tapped Rodney's shoulder.
Jason smirked before he gave back the crystal and left the lab with others while Rodney stayed to work on the vehicles they found on Malachor.
Meanwhile in the Star Destroyer
After the rebels rescued Hondo from prison, Governor Tarkin discussed the increasing rebel threat with Admiral Konstantine and Agent Kallus.
"With all due respect sir. I think Governor Pryce is overestimating how organized the rebels are," Konstantine said.
"I know from experience that it is not wise to underestimate the rebels either," Kallus reminded Konstantine.
"But there has never been any evidence of a larger scale galaxy-wide operation," Konstantine said.
Their discussion was suddenly interrupted when two officers entered the bridge.
"And I would like to keep it that way."
Everyone turned to the newcomers who turned out to be Governor Pryce and Grand Admiral Thrawn.
"Governor Tarkin," Thrawn greeted respectfully.
"Grand Admiral Thrawn," Tarkin said.
"Grand admiral?" Konstantine asked not believing what he just heard.
"The Emperor recently promoted me after my latest victory against the rebels," Thrawn said.
"Civilian casualties outnumbered the insurgents at the time," Kallus said not feeling very happy how many civilians died in the battle.
"Acceptable losses, Agent Kallus. But there are no longer rebels in that sector," Pryce said.
After they were done talking about Thrawn's latest battle, they began to discuss the rebel threat. It turned out that with the info Hondo provided, the rebels of the Phoenix squadron were planning to steal fighters for their fleet from the starfighter reclamation plant the Empire had in the Yama system.
"I trust you have a solution," Tarkin said.
"I do but before I began to explain my plans. I'd like you to meet someone," Thrawn said making everyone confused.
After he said it, the door behind them opened revealing a human figure who started walking to them. The man who walked to them was wearing a black coat and his face was hidden behind a black hood (Organization 13 coat from Kingdom Hearts).
"Who is this?" Konstantine asked.
"My name is Khan," Khan said with a strange voice as he introducing himself (he has the same voice as Anubis does).
"Khan?! As in Khan, the separatist agent and weapons designer from the clone wars?" Konstantine asked not believing what was just revealed.
"I am no longer a separatist. The only thing that remains is my name," Khan said with anger in his voice which made Konstantine take a few steps back in fear.
"You should show some gratitude, Khan. It wasn't easy for me and Thrawn to convince the Emperor to let you rejoin the Empire after your banishment," Tarkin said.
"The only reason why I returned was that I believe I will get something valuable in return," Khan said.
"And you will. As long as you succeed in destroying the rebellion," Tarkin said.
"As you wish," Khan said.
Even though he would get something valuable from his services, Khan knew that the Emperor would never share any of his power with him because of their history. But Khan wasn't a fool, he has been hiding from the Empire ever since it was formed. But there was more.
During his years of hiding, Khan met someone. Someone who showed him the true meaning of power, knowledge of the universe, and most of all, the path to immortality. While the imperial officers were talking, Khan remembered what his 'mentor' once told him.
"If you want power, you must do anything to achieve it."
Khan simply smirked at the memory even though he was now only a form of energy inside his suit.
"I will do anything to get power. But I won't make the same mistakes as you did... Anubis," Khan thought.
Meanwhile onboard Daedalus
Ahsoka has been waiting in the infirmary for a while now. She was still able to meditate but her connection to the Force was still weak because of her battle with Vader two years ago. She tried to use the Force to figure out what these people were hiding and they seemed so different but she couldn't because her connection wasn't strong enough yet.
"I still need more time to heal," Ahsoka thought.
She was suddenly interrupted when there was a knock on the door.
"Enter," Ahsoka said.
The door opened revealing Jason behind it. Ahsoka wasn't sure what Jason had in mind but she trusted him enough to know that he meant well for her.
"Is there something I can help you with?" Ahsoka asked politely.
"Actually, I came here to help you," Jason said which took Ahsoka a little by surprise.
"Help me?" Ahsoka asked.
"Yes, but first I want to know how long have you been trapped on that planet and for what reason," Jason said.
Ahsoka hesitated at first but she eventually decided to tell him because she trusted him. After all, he and his team 'rescued' her from Malachor.
"I've been trapped on Malachor for two years. And the reason why is because my former master tried to kill me and left me stranded," Ahsoka said with sadness in her voice.
Jason could see the sadness Ahsoka felt. He may not fully understand why she felt it but somehow he could sympathize. He walked next to her and offered her a hand.
"I think it's time to tell and show you, where my people and I truly come from," Jason said with a smile.
Ahsoka blushed a little at Jason's kindness but she quickly got over it put her hand on Jason's and he helped her up from her bed. After they got out of the infirmary and went to the briefing room, Ahsoka saw everyone from Jason's team there along with Caldwell. She wasn't sure what they had in mind but she could tell that they wanted answers and were willing to give answers to her as well.
"What is going on?" Ahsoka asked.
"I told you in the infirmary. We have decided to tell you the whole truth," Jason said.
"About your people's origin?" Ahsoka asked.
"Kind of, but there's more to it," Jason said.
Ahsoka nodded and took a seat along with everyone in the room. When they took their seats, they began telling each other everything they knew.
Later
It took a while but the team was able to explain everything to Ahsoka and she was able to explain everything to the team. Ahsoka couldn't believe what she was told. The people who rescued her came from another galaxy and have been exploring two different galaxies, including their own.
While Ahsoka was getting used to the new revelation she just learned, the team processed all the intel Ahsoka gave them. What she told them about the Empire reminded them a lot about the Goa'ulds, except the imperials were actual people, not hosts possessed by the symbiotes. They also considered going back to Pegasus galaxy and give this intel to Atlantis and SGC but it still would take a week to get there.
Jason and his team also thought they should stay at least for a while to learn more about the galaxy and what they were up against. But they had to do it carefully because they came to explore, not to fight a war for the locals. After they made their decision, they turned to Ahsoka.
"We have decided to stay for a while and learn more before going back to Atlantis," Caldwell said.
"Thank you, colonel," Ahsoka said.
"But remember, we're not here to fight your war. We're here only to explore," Caldwell added.
"I understand," Ahsoka said.
She did wish that the crew of Daedalus would help the rebellion but she understood why they didn't really want to.
"So, do you know where we should go at first?" Rodney asked.
"Well, the only place that comes to my mind is the planet Atollon where my friends' base is," Ahsoka said.
"You mean the rebels?" Sheppard asked.
"Yes," Ahsoka confirmed.
"But is it really a good idea to go there? We just got here," Jake said.
"Not to mention the rebels could also be hostile," Caldwell added.
"I understand why you're unwilling to meet them but they're good people. They won't harm you," Ahsoka told them.
"How do we know that for sure?" Ronon asked with suspicion.
"They won't attack you if I tell them not to," Ahsoka said.
"But aren't they thinking that you're dead?" Sheppard asked.
"Yes, they believe that I'm dead but it will change if you let me talk to them," Ahsoka said. "Besides, you need a safe harbor and the rebel base is a good place for it."
The team looked at each other for a moment before they made their decision.
"Alright, but this better not turn into a battle," Caldwell said.
"It won't," Ahsoka guaranteed.
After that, Caldwell ended the meeting and they headed to the bridge. When they got there, Ahsoka told the coordinates and Rodney put them on the navigation computer. When they were ready, they entered the hyperspace and headed towards the Chopper base.
While they were in the hyperspace, Ahsoka asked if Jason could take her to the walk, and as a gentleman, Jason said yes. They walked around the ship and chatted a little until they reached the deck where they could see outside into space.
"I have been in hyperspace before but never anything like this," Ahsoka said feeling impressed.
"Yeah, it wasn't easy but we were able to gather all kinds of technologies to build this ship and everything on it," Jason said.
"Wait? You didn't invent this hyperdrive technology?" Ahsoka asked.
"I'll explain later," Jason said.
They stayed quiet for a moment until Ahsoka decided to ask what's been bothering her about Jason for a while now.
"Can I ask you something?" Ahsoka asked.
"Of course," Jason asked.
"How are you able to resist the Force?" Ahsoka asked.
Jason was taken back by Ahsoka's sudden question but he had some sort of answer even though he wasn't entirely sure why he could resist the Force.
"I'm not sure but I think it might have something to do with my Ancient gene," Jason said.
"The Ancient gene?" Ahsoka asked.
"The one that is needed to use the Ancient technologies," Jason explained.
"Why do you think the gene gives you the ability to resist the Force and its effects?" Ahsoka asked.
"To be honest, I don' really know. It just came into my mind," Jason said.
They were suddenly interrupted when Caldwell called them through the radio.
"Connor, do you read?" Caldwell asked.
"I'm here sir," Jason said.
"We'll soon come out the hyperspace. I want you and miss Tano to the bridge," Caldwell said.
"Understood sir," Jason said.
After he turned off the radio, he and Ahsoka headed to the bridge.
Meanwhile in the Chopper base
Things went as they always did from day after day. The rebel troops were doing their daily works while the rebel officers were making plans on how to strike the Empire, especially Hera Syndulla along with Kanan Jarrus and Commander Sato.
While they were making plans, they were also a little concerned about Ezra and the others who went with him. Not only because Hondo was with them but mostly because of how Ezra has been behaving recently.
Ever since he and Kanan came back from Malachor, Ezra blamed himself for Ahsoka's death and Kanan losing his sight. This changed Ezra so that he always took any mission they could give and he completed it successfully but it was reported that he has become merciless. Every time Ezra has killed stormtroopers and acted without mercy which brought questions about his loyalty and ability to do what is right. But Hera and the others couldn't fix that right now because Ezra was on the mission to steal some old fighters for the rebellion.
While Hera and the other officers were making plans, they were suddenly interrupted when a rebel trooper ran to them.
"Commander," the trooper said.
"What is it?" Sato asked.
"The sensors picked up a ship. It just came out of hyperspace," the trooper said.
"One of our own?" Hera asked.
"Negative ma'am. It's not sending any signals in our frequency," the trooper said.
"Bring it on the holo map," Sato ordered.
"Yes sir," the trooper said.
He showed the image of the ship on the holo map to Hera and the others. They were a little surprised because the ship wasn't anything like they've seen before and it was definitely not imperial.
"Hera, what do you think?" Kanan asked.
"I don't know, Kanan. I've never seen a ship like that," Hera said.
"That coming from you, it must be serious," Kanan said.
Suddenly the radio started beeping.
"Captain, the ship is contacting us," the trooper said.
"Open the channel," Hera ordered.
The trooper nodded and opened the radio.
"This is Captain Hera Syndulla. Please, identify yourself," Hera said.
Nothing was heard for a minute until someone answered.
"We read you loud and clear captain."
"Who is this?" Hera asked.
"Colonel Steven Caldwell. Commander of Daedalus," Caldwell said introducing himself.
"How did you find us? This planet isn't on any maps," Hera said.
"I told them and before you ask, I did it for a good reason."
As soon as they heard a feminine voice say that, everyone in the command center froze because they recognized that voice too well even though they haven't heard it for two years.
"Ahsoka? Is that really you?!" Kanan asked.
"Yes, Kanan. It's me," Ahsoka said.
Everyone was filled with happiness at their friend's return.
"Thank the Force. We thought you were dead," Kanan said.
"I survived the battle with Vader but I was stranded on Malachor for two years," Ahsoka explained.
"I hate to break our reunion but who are you traveling with?" Hera asked.
"Don't worry. We'll explain everything if you let us come to your base," Ahsoka said.
"Of course. You're welcome to do so," Sato said.
But after he said it, seven beams of light appeared in the base and then revealed Ahsoka along with Jason and his team. Everyone felt like their mouths fell on the floor because they had no idea what just happened.
"How... how did you do that?" Hera asked after she recovered from her shock.
The team looked at each other and then smiled awkwardly.
"I guess we'll have to explain everything from the beginning," Jason said while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Indeed," Ahsoka agreed.
