Hey readers/writers. So I decided to actually split the last chapter. For the record, my future chapters will be about 2K to 3K long. I just had some really poor judgement here. Anyway, just enjoy the story (hopefully)
me own nothin'
Percy breathed in the fresh, salty air as he stood on the beach. His shoes were discarded so the golden grains of sand could run between his wiggling toes.
He'd had a long day. He enjoyed his archery but moved on soon after. He went by the cabins, met Luke (who was thankfully much nicer than Annabeth), Katie Gardner and a bunch of other demigods, spent time with Grover and just exploring the camp in general as well as collecting information.
Now he was just enjoying the ocean that lay before him.
He felt drawn to the water, like a small voice in the back of his head that nagged him to head to the nearest water source. He walked a few more steps towards the ocean, until his feet were submerged and felt the connection instantly.
Now that he was aware of his special connection to water, the connection felt even stronger. He could feel every ripple in the water, all the rocks at the bottom, every sea animal. It felt like he found a part of him that he didn't know was lost.
He reached out to the call of the ocean, tried to get in touch with his father. He waited and waited for a sign. Every second that passed he reached out to the sea, every second that passed making him more tired.
After 5 minutes, he felt like collapsing, but then a blob of water rose out of the water and floated mid-air.
All traces of exhaustion gone, Percy looked at the ball of water for a few seconds before he tried something.
"Um... Mister Sea God? Are you my father?" he asked. He felt stupid talking to a floating ball of water but it was a response to his calling so he would try anything.
He watched as the water twisted and separated until it formed words.
Yes, I am your father, Poseidon. God of the sea, earth shaker, storm bringer and father of horses. I've been waiting for you, Percy.
Percy didn't even register the titles, focusing on the last line he read.
"No you haven't." he stated simply and calmly, "I lived with my mother and that disgusting pig of a step father for 12 years. You don't care about me. How much you want to bet that you just want me to give you a good name." Percy said, his voice raising with each word. Luke had warned him about the Gods. How they claim they can't interfere, but if they want something it doesn't effect them. He felt like he was overreacting a bit, but this frustration built up inside him for 12 years so he thought he was allowed to let it out.
The water quickly turned into a different set of words.
No no no.
We, as in the Gods, are restricted by the ancient laws. They stop us from having contact with our children or mortal affairs.
Percy was observant. He knew Poseidon deliberately avoided the question so he asked again.
"Do. You. Just. Want. Me. To. Give. You. A. Good. Name?" Percy asked slowly, battling to control his anger. His father was alive, yet he did nothing to help him. And here he thought his father was a hero.
Well of course you're supposed to give me a good name, but-
Percy spoke before the water could form its next words, "But nothing. You just want to use me. The ancient laws aren't stopping you now. There was water around me. Mom and I would go to the pool every month but you didn't do anything!" he was shouting by the end.
Perseus
You are being unreasonable. You have to follow me. You have to-
"I don't have to do anything for you! You are a bastard. How could you and the rest of the Gods just abandon your children. Some of them don't even have cabins to stay in! I'm sure the almighty Gods can do small stuff like give their children a place to stay! You Gods are just idiots." Percy said, and started to walk away.
Just as he was going to reach the grass, a wave of water crashed onto him. He landed in the floor, but quickly turned around and faced the water.
"So now you attack me!" Percy yells.
I, Poseidon, hereby disown Perseus Jackson.
After Percy read the statement, the effects were immediate.
He could feel a part of him being taken away. Like a part of him was being ripped out from within. It felt like his stomach was being twisted in all different directions. But through all the pain Percy pulled the part that was leaving back. He pictured it leaving, then imagined it coming back to him.
A couple of campers that were walking by saw him writhing on the ground and ran to get help.
A few minutes later Clarisse showed up with some of her burly siblings.
"Out the way punks!" Clarisse bellowed. Everyone cleared out of the way instantly.
"Prissy! Calm down punk! We need to help you!" Clarisse shouted.
Percy just continued writhing.
5 minutes later, a passed out Percy lay in the infirmary, on a bed.
Will was reporting to Chiron on how Percy was doing.
"He is physically drained and will need to rest. He'll probably wake up tomorrow." he said. "And no, Chiron, I don't know how this happened. The campers say they were just walking by and they found him in the middle of a wet patch of grass and sand, writhing on the ground." Will answered Chiron's unasked question.
Thanks for reading, review please :)
Sorry about the short chapter, but I'm quite sure that my future chapters will be around 2k to 3k long.
