Mono's POV

The girl trapped in the basement, she had a thing for the music box she held dearly. Maybe it was a soothing help in the tough times she had been through? Mono did not really know yet.

He decided to destroy the door, with a hatchet he found lying on the floor.

He entered the room.

"Hey. It's ok, I won't hurt you. I'm a kid, like you." Mono says as he gestures towards the girl, his hand extended in a gesture of kindness.

The girl knocked him over and escaped the room.

"Figures." Mono mumbled to himself, preparing to go after the girl just in case something happened.

After a few minutes, Mono caught up to the girl, who was trying to pull down a ladder to get into the attic. She was too light. She took one look at Mono, and their eyes met.

"Hey, umm…could you help me with this?" She asked.

"Sure thing! Also, sorry about earlier. I understand that chopping the door with an axe probably scared you." Mono replied, rather chipper at having met another non-hostile being in this harsh world.

And so off they went, to look for the winch to open the door.

Interlude: The Nome in The Attic

Mono made it up the attic to search for the winch. He saw something scuttle by him.

"Hello? Is someone there?" Mono called out.

The pointy thing chirped and then revealed itself. It was a nome.

"Well hello there!" Mono said.

The nome chirped.

He guided it to its home in the attic.

And discovered the winch and a hat made of coonskin.

Alright Guys! Chapter 2 Done. So, the nome interlude is just my take on the nome's attic dlc. Anyway, the next chapter finally wraps up The Wilderness Arc! See you!
