Mariana nervously shut the door behind her, not knowing what to expect. She looked around and noticed her former boyfriend was putting some stuff away in boxes.

"You're moving?" She asked, surprised. She knew being in San Diego was difficult for him, but thought he was going to a halfway house.

"Yes. I'm leaving town soon."

"Want me to help you?" She asked, feeling a little awkward around him since they haven't spoken since Bayfest when he broke his parole to make sure she's okay.

"Of course." She got to work, carefully putting pictures of them together in a box next to her. It was before all the craziness that happened back when they were happy when Mat wasn't a problem. Feeling guilty for continuously lying to him about all the other times she cheated on him, she tried not to cry. "Where are you going to go?"

"I'm not sure, but I'll be fine." The girl instantly started crying as Nick went over to his ex and held her in his arms with her head on his chest. "It's okay, Mari."

"No, it's not. I should have never cheated on you."

"Listen to me. Most of this isn't you're fault. It all started before I met you, so you couldn't have done anything to stop the abuse I got from him or everything he said." She cried for a few minutes before it stopped. "No matter what, you will always be my first love." He replied before pulling away and looking at her.

"Mat didn't mean anything to me other than a friend. It was over the second I realized I don't want to go backwards with him." She told him as he nodded. Mariana really did mean it and helped him with the rest of the stuff which didn't take long.

"I know I'm not supposed to be seen with you, but right now I don't care." She told him.

"Want to go for a drive? No one will notice my car as long as we stay on this side of town and don't go anywhere near your house or the school."

She nodded and they left the house, going down the highway before getting on the exit and driving on Oak street. "Stop the car!" Mariana yelled, looking at the flames and smoke which reminded Nick of when he burned down the warehouse. She had her phone in her hand.

He pulled over before Mariana got out of the car and started running towards it.

"The window." He replied, seeing a figure through the glass.

"We have to do something." She replied before he gently grabbed her arm. "You can't go in there. Why would anyone be in that house?"

She looked between him and the window before pulling out of his hold and running towards the door which was burning on the frame, dropping her phone. "Mariana!" He yelled, worried as he picked up the device. "Lena, it's Nick. I know your family isn't fond of me right now, but I need you to come to the San Diego hospital near Oak Street."

The girl went into the house and tried to get to the kitchen through the smoke. Barely able to see, she found the blond 17 year old unconscious. She picked her up and tried to carry her out of the house, but couldn't see through the smoke. Coughing, she tried to run while keeping the other girl from falling at the same time while the fire was getting bigger and more difficult to get through.

Outside Nick was calling the 911 for help with Mariana's phone. "I'm on Oak Street and a house is in flames with two people inside of it. Neither of them have come back outside while one of them went in a couple minutes ago to help the other person trapped within it. I need an ambulance out here, now." Once he was told the ambulance, fire department and police would be on their way, he felt a little bit better.

When the former two arrived, he told the paramedics everything he could while the firemen went inside and tried to find his ex girlfriend and her best friend. A little time passed until Mariana and Cassie were both brought out of the house while the other firemen started putting out the flames.

"Do you know anyone we could call for either of the girls?" One of the paramedics asked.

"I already called Mariana's mom, Lena, but I don't know about Cassie Blake's family." She nodded.

"Maybe I could check her pocket for her phone." He suggested before the two girls were placed on gurneys. "They are both going to the same hospital right?"

"Yes." He pulled out her phone that was attached to a holder on her side and looked through her contacts. "I'm going to see if she has an emergency contact on her phone." He said, scrolling through. When he found a contact with ICE next to it, he called it.

"Cassie?" The girl asked.

"Melissa."

"Nick, is that you?" She asked, confused and shocked.

"Listen to me, Cassie is going to the hospital in San Diego close to Oak Street where her old house was in San Diego." He hung up and put the phone back before turning back to the paramedic.

"Are they going to be okay?"

"Considering the blond was in there longer, she passed out from smoke inhalation."

"What about Mariana?"

"I think her condition is unstable since was inside when the fire got bigger."

"Two females, one is 17 years old, 5'3", blond and blue eyes. The other is dark haired female, brown eyes and about 15 or 16." The third paramedic said into a walkie talkie on her shoulder.

When the ambulance arrived at the hospital, the paramedics rolled the girls into the emergency side of the building.

Melissa called everyone else, explaining the situation. They all met up and left Chance Harbor, getting on a plane from Washington to San Diego.

"What the hell was she going there?" Jake asked, worried, looking at them.

"Probably causing trouble like always. First she goes after Adam then Jake. Who's next? Nick if he was around?"

"Faye, shut up." Melissa said, wondering why someone with his voice would call her. Is it possible he's still alive? Why? How?

Darkness.

That's all Cassie and Mariana saw since the former was passed out from smoke inhalation and Mariana's condition wasn't confirmed right now.

Both girls were put into a room side by side and hooked up to monitors. Awhile later, Melissa and the others walked inside the waiting room.

"Cassie Blake and/or Mariana Adams Foster." The doctor said.

The circle and Lena, who just walked in, looked at her.

"They girls passed out from smoke inhalation, but it seems Cassie has it worse since she was there since the beginning of the fire. Mariana showed up to help her get out when she went down Oak street in a car."

Everyone nodded. "We will let you know when one, the other or both wakes up."

"How long will that take?" Lena asked, worried about her daughter.

"It depends how much smoke was in her lungs and the same goes for Cassie. I will keep you all updated. Any family I can contact for Cassie?"

"No." Melissa said, suddenly pissed at Diana more than ever due to her leaving them behind. The doctor nodded and walked away.

Lena was on the phone while the circle was talking to each other.

"Thank you for helping my daughter. I appreciate it and I'm sorry about Stef's attitude towards you." She said, grateful before she listened.

Hours went by slowly, so the circle and Lena were all anxiously waiting for some news. Eventually the doctor showed up. "We lost both of them due to suffocation, but was able to revive them." She said with a frown. "They are now in stable condition, but unconscious. 2 Visitors each at a time and don't stay too long."

They all nodded. Melissa and Jake went to see Cassie while Lena got on the phone, calling Mariana's ex.

"Hey, just thought I'd update you on Mariana's condition." She told him

"Is she okay?"

"She died due to suffocation, but they were able to bring her back. She's stable, but unconscious."

He stayed silent as he processed that information. The thought of almost losing his former girlfriend he loves more than anything was worse than her cheating on him. She means everything to him and that will never stop.

"You there?" Lena asked, concerned about him due to recent events.

"Yeah. Keep me updated."

"Of course." She hung up before she went to Mariana's room which she shared with Cassie, so Jake and Melissa was in there as well.

"I still wonder what she was doing in San Diego." Melissa said, worried about her friend.

"Me too." Jake replied, looking at the blond girl he fell in love with.

"We can ask her later. Are you okay?"

He nodded, knowing that he was anything but. He was in love with Cassie and almost ruined his friendship with her when she found out he was a witch hunter. He almost lost her once and he did for a brief time this time. Nick's gone, his parents are gone and all he has left is his circle and grandfather.

"What about you?" He asked.

"Cassie and I weren't that close, but she did try to save me in the bathroom during the Fire/Ice dance. She's a good person and has lost so much within a short amount of time."

"I know she is." Jake replied.

"You know I never blamed her for anything that's happened since she arrived. It's not her fault her mom died, you were a witch hunter, Nick died, Blackwell came back to kill us or any of it." She whispered. "Did she unintentionally and unknowingly bring a demon out of Heather that possessed me before it killed Nick? Yes, but none of us were really careful. Diana and Adam knew, but didn't warn her or anything. Cassie and the rest of us just wanted answers about what happened 17 years ago." She looked at him. "Cassie will be okay, Jake." He nodded.

Mariana's twin brother walked in and stood next to Lena.

"How did this happen?" He asked her.

"From what I heard, she went in her," Lena nodded to Cassie. "old house to save her from a fire. The doctors said they were briefly dead before they were able to be revived."

He sighed and nodded. Melissa and Jake left and went out into the hall waiting.

Eventually, everyone was back in the waiting room without talking or anything, "Why didn't you call Diana and tell her Cassie's situation?" Jake asked, raising an eyebrow.

Faye scoffed. "None of us called you when Nick died, so why should we do the same with Evil princess number 2 about Cassie?" She asked as if it was obvious.

"Who the hell does she think she is?" Melissa crossed her arms. "I know that we all need a break and she had a lot to deal with, but she isn't the only one. Besides, we are the only family each other has. We need to stick together."

"Melissa is right." Adam replied.

"Uh, guys?" Melissa asked. "Who will be leader in Cassie's absence?"

Everyone looked at each other.

Hi, everyone. I may go back and edit these chapters since I'm trying to make this a good crossover instead of abandoning it. Let me know what you think. Melissa has made some good points about Diana acting like she's the only one who has gone through something and about someone else being leader while Cassie is M.I.A and Diana apparently doesn't care..
