The sun peered over a posh suburban landscape. Houses formed by decades of families both noble and unknown served as walls on either side of the road. Along the sidewalks roamed man and machine, with men being represented by joggers while machines had their representation via the ever-searching animatronics. Some of these robots slinked around in the alleys, digging strange gunk called "remnant" for their owners. Others hid away from the delivery truck, eying it from their spots of choice. One in particular, however, stuck to the main path. Its lower jaw bobbed moved up and down, as if muttering to itself. If any jogger wanted to slow his pace and get a better look, he would have heard the voice-box faintly sound out a name: Penny.

While this strange morning scene played out, Penny sat at her desk and prepared for the hour ahead. She picked up her taser and carefully tested it. A bluish speck of lightning sparked to life, only to die out seconds later. Penny nodded in satisfaction, set her "weapon" down, then turned her attention to the neon clock. The hands showed two minutes to 6. "Just enough time to check on Octavia," she thought as she turned her attention to her phone. She powered on the phone and unlocked the official Fazbear Delivery app. Her finger was just about the hit the home button, but a message popped up on the top of the screen. "Good morning," it greeted with a smile symbol. "Are you ready? He's almost there."

Penny switched to the messaging system and double-checked the name. Yep, it was Octavia all right. "I'm ready as I'll ever be," Penny responded quickly. "Is the custom notification all set?"

"You'll have to stay on the app to find out," Octavia answered, adding a winking grin emoticon. "Let me know when you've got him."

"Sure thing," Penny replied. "Text you soon."

Before Octavia could add any last-minute quips, Penny returned to the first application. Much to her surprise, the time was already 6 AM. But where was the Springtrap? Did it get lost somehow? Or, worse, stolen? Her eyes focused on the blue-tinted map and waited for any word. One minute. Two minutes. Three, then four...

Then the image of a rabbit face appeared. It slowly inched towards the house, obeying the traffic rules even though it didn't have to at this hour. While Penny processed that intriguing sight, she watched as the icon hurried to the front yard. "Looks like this robot doesn't have a proper GPS installation," she shrugged. "In my situation, that might be a good thing."

Down below, the Springtrap marched straight to the porch and raised its hand to bang on the door. Its eyes widened and its posture slumped. "No," it mouthed as it shook its head. "Wait for the signal, the ring the bell. That's how it should go..." It raised its head and leaned back. Now all it had to do was wait.

In the meantime, Penny's patience was finally rewarded with that promised custom message. "𝚆𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚋𝚎 𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚎?" the notification read. "𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚒𝚜 𝚘𝚗𝚕𝚢 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚛𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚊𝚗𝚜𝚠𝚎𝚛…" Despite the almost out-of-character opening, the message served its purpose well. Penny shivered at the words, but shook herself out of it. "Fighting an animatronic a few minutes after 6 AM?" she asked herself as her finger hovered over the 'Welcome Home' button. "If this isn't the exact opposite of the old

Fazbear stories, then I don't know what is." With this as her last pre-fighting remarks, she tapped the huge red button without a single flinch.

This single button press triggered a quiet alarm for the Springtrap model. Its eyes flashed red and white lights before shutting them off. As footsteps echoed inside the house, the robot straightened its posture and pressed the doorbell twice. It waited, putting an ear to the door and listening for any more footsteps. When only creaking wood greeted it, it cautiously turned the knob.

Penny leaned over her staircase railing and peered into the floor below. Her heart stopped as the door swung open and a towering figure stepped into the foyer. Even though the early morning darkness made it hard to see, she could easily spot the stitched-on broken heart symbol and the tear streaks thanks to some pulsing LEDs embedded into the suit. She stared in wonder as the creature scanned the area. "It's as if the design fused with the robot," she thought as she subconsciously backed away from the railing. "Should I be terrified or amazed?"

Her question was swiftly answered as Springtrap craned its neck to meet her gaze. "It is time," it growled with bright white eyes. It shuffled further into the room as its target fled behind a nearby door and slamming it shut. The rabbit halted its trek in front of the stairs, issued a guttural sigh, then began its assent up the staircase.

Inside the office, Penny grabbed the taser and tested it again. The bluish sparks appeared and disappeared like before, assuring her that it was still working. She stood as metal footfalls echoed outside her door. Her eyes focused on the ticking clock. "In a few seconds, I'll be tossed into the strangest fight of my life," she noted as the thumping grew nearer and nearer. "I just hope I can remember what I'm supposed to do."

The eerie noises stopped right in front of the door. Penny faced the entrance and steadied her breathing. The door creaked open, but nothing seemed to emerge from it. Only the groans and clanging of the moving endoskeleton told her where to look. After a few minutes of this hide and seek, the Springtrap removed its invisible cloak. Its head twitched and its eyes now burned red. Penny quickly shifted her gaze to something else, mouthing "Red Eyes, Stare Dies" over and over. It was the only thing she could think of using to distract herself from double-checking by mistake.

Springtrap, meanwhile, vanished from sight. It waited until she was calm, then resumed its procedure. As it wandered around the office, it decided calculated the best position to charge at her. If it attacked from the south, then it would bump into the door and risk losing its balance. If it ran from the north, then there would be little time for her to dodge and make this a fair "fight". Now, if it snuck into the half-open closet and then pounced out when she least expected it... A low, rasped chuckle emitted from its voice box. Without any other hints, it clung to the walls and softly stole away into its desired hiding spot.

Penny, having no idea what was going on in her opponent's processor, tried to remain steady. Her eyes tuned for any metallic noises, but they caught nothing. All was still for a few moments. Did it leave? Or was it bluffing somehow? Can robots in this delivery service even "bluff"? She looked down at her taser and put her fingers into that habitual testing position...

Springtrap, sensing this as an opportunity, leapt out and returned to its visible form. It ran towards her with a desperate lunge. Thankfully, Penny took this as a cue to move out of the way before it could tackle her. It slammed itself into the desk, and rued the moment where it forgot to account the east side of the room. It hissed as it gripped its hand on the table. "You will not be spared," it sputtered hurriedly. "You will not be saved!"

"Are you talking to me or my furniture?" Penny half-smiled a few feet away. "Judging by the way this going, I'm betting it's the latter."

Springtrap grimaced. "I will make you suffer," it insisted, drawing itself up to its full height and staring at her with white eyes. "Suffer like so many of the others!"

"Would that be the chairs and tables from Octavia's house or do you mean the mannequins you tackled in some training room?"

Springtrap's eyes flickered from white to red. Its head twitched more violently. It struggled to wait for its opponent to look away, then prove itself by charging again. Unfortunately, this caused it to miss the second dodge completely and forget to stop before ramming itself into the closet. The rabbit fell to the floor on its lower back. It groaned in frustration as it rubbed its head. "I can feel the mirth in your breath," it muttered, blinking its eyes rapidly as if to correct its vision.

Penny raised an eyebrow. That wasn't a line in its script, was it? "I mean, you are acting a little ridiculous," she replied hesitantly. "Can you not see where you're going or are you just not an early riser?"

Springtrap struggled to its feet, then sniggered. "I misjudged your room, that's all," it answered casually, turning to face its surprised inquirer. "And now that I'm learning from both of my mistakes, ... your time is up." With this last sentence uttered, it vanished into the darkness of the closet and used the cloak to slip out undetected.

Although the realization that this model could improvise more sentences than the typical versions did have an effect on her, Penny was undeterred. She primed the taser and actually moved around instead of staying in one place. This was it. If what she read online was correct, then the next time he charged would be the time to strike. She followed a couple of steps from where the noise was coming from. Her fingers drummed on the weapon. Her heartbeat quickened. "Come out, come out, wherever you are," she called out in a singsong manner.

Now this taunt made Springtrap smile in spite of itself. Finally, this woman was figuring out what it was trying to accomplish. It kept the facade up for a minute or two, then uncloaked itself once again. It put one leg behind the other, let its eyes flicker from white to red, then raced towards her. A swell of joy overtook it before being replaced by an overload of panic. It watched in terror as Penny whipped out her taser and blasted a bolt of lightning at it. Suddenly, it stopped moving as the energy surged through its body. All it could do was lift its left arm and try to reach out. Then, everything went dark on its end.

Penny looked at her taser, then at the unconscious rabbit. "I'm sorry, whatever your name really is," she admitted as she put her weapon on the desk. "But I had to do it."

Of course, Springtrap couldn't say anything now. Penny placed a hand on her head as she fell onto her chair. She picked up her phone and immediately went to the messaging app. "I did it, Octavia," she announced. "I gave it a controlled shock and everything."

Thankfully, Octavia was quick to reply. "Congratulations, I guess," she answered. "I'm pretty sure I made it to where you didn't have to use the taser, though."

Penny sighed deeply. Of course. "Well, I guess I should have asked before following Fazbear policy to a T," she tapped with a scowl on her face. "Now what do I do? Stuff it in my closet until it wakes up?"

"You can try, if you want. I mean, he already had an encounter with it twice."

"...You watched the whole thing?"

"Of course I did! What, you think I wasn't going to see him off without one final goodbye? I even helped him not get lost on his way here!"

Penny leaned back in her chair for a moment. "...You know what, Octavia?" she asked. "I'm going to call you after I put him in the closet and eat my breakfast. Something tells me you've got a lot of explaining to do."
