All Simon could see was ivory. Ivory walls as he was rushed through the corridors of the Creekwood General. Cal was the only thing on his mind. He couldn't make out all of the shouts he was hearing.

He had no clue how long he had been out, but he assumed it was a long time. This was because he passed his family as he was rushed down the hall. "Dad," Simon croaked. Jack stood up from the bench.

"I'm right here," Jack said.

"We need to get your son into surgery, Mr. Spier," the doctor said.

"Take care of him," Jack pleaded.

"We will," the doctor promised.

"Cal," Simon croaked. He was rushed into the ICU. The doctor put an oxygen mask over Simon's face. He was starting to lose consciousness. He wanted to fight to stay awake. At least until he knows if Cal is okay.

Simon noticed someone leave the ICU. It was clear the person wasn't a doctor. He was wearing a brown sweater and jeans. He wondered how that person managed to get back here. That's the thought that rocked him into slumber.

The next time Simon opened his grey eyes, it was almost a week later. He was in a regular hospital room. His arm was in a sling, and most of his body was covered in bandages. His chest had quite a few layers of bandages.

"Looks like sleeping beauty has woken from his slumber," Nick joked. He was sitting in a seat beside Simon's bed. Abby was sitting right beside him. Leah was standing on her left. On the other side of the bed, the entire Spier family stood. Alice was even there.

"How long have I been asleep?" Simon croaked. He remembered the night of the cast party. He remembered how he caught Cal cheating on him, and the conversation that followed. Then the crash that followed.

"About a week," Emily said. "Your arm broke neatly. You have a few broken ribs and a few bruised ribs. A few of your other bones were bruised. You also have some head trauma."

Emily began to break down. Jack wrapped his arm around his wife's shoulders. "I'm sorry," Emily cried. "We almost him."

"But he's awake now," Jack whispered. It was clear he was holding himself together barely.

"What about Cal?" Simon asked. The room went deathly silent. It took Simon to realize what the silence meant. "No."

"I'm sorry," Emily sobbed. "Cal didn't make it."
