Everyone stared at Mark in shock. "What do you mean you came from the future? We just got done dealing with the ramifications of time travel!" Cisco yelled out. Barry just stood there, stunned by what Mark had told them. "What war are you talking about?" Barry asked. Mark walked around them and looked at the screens showing the date.
Quickly, Mark turned to them. "How much do you actually care about your friends? Like Oliver or Kara?" Mark asked out of nowhere. Barry stepped forward. "Are you threatening us?" He spat out. Mark put his mask back on. "The date is May 24, 2017. " Thanatos started but Cisco interrupted, "What the hell does the date have to do with anything?"
Thanatos glared at them all. "You may have had your own problems dealing with Savitar or Grodd or whoever, but you aren't the only one's dealing with something right now!" He yelled before turning to Barry. "Right now Oliver is on his way to Lian Yu to save his son along with his mother. In the process the island will explode killing the boy's mother, putting Thea in a coma, and crippling John Diggle." Barry turned to Cisco and Iris, all of them stunned at this new information.
"So...what should we do?" Iris asked him. "Barry, call wally back. Cisco we need you to portal us when ready." Thanatos told them. Barry ran out. Cisco turned and walked out, getting his suit. Only Iris and Thanatos stood in the room.
Looking down, Iris asked him, "If you wouldn't have shown up, what would have happened?" Thanatos turned away as Barry, Cisco, and Wally came in. "You shoot Savitar, killing him. But the one thing that all of you forgot...is that the prison in the Speed Force must have a prisoner. With Savitar dead, Barry had to take his place." Thanatos replied.
Looking at the time, Thanatos groaned. "We must leave if we want to help. Now!" He shouted out. Cisco immediately opened a portal.
Without hesitation, Thanatos spread his wings and flew through the portal.
Quickly looking around he tackled Black Siren before she could use her siren call on Black Canary. Flash, Kid Flash, and Vibe came through after.
"Get to Oliver and help get everyone to safety." Thanatos told them before Black Siren blasted him off, making him hit a wall. Thanatos looked at her as she started walking towards Black Canary, their cries colliding throwing them back. With ringing in his ears, Thanatos slowly got up looking for Canary. He heard movement but saw that Siren found Canary first.
"You thought you could replace me?" Black Siren laughed, walking towards Canary. "That's cute." she finished before unleashing her cry at Canary. Thanatos jumped to her, wrapping his wings around her. This time prepared for it, the Siren Cry had no affect on Thanatos.
Out of nowhere, Black Siren was hit from behind. Thanatos looked up and saw that it was Detective Lance who hit her with a board. Thanatos helped Black Canary up. She shook him off and stared at Black Siren before turning to Lance. "You didn't have to do that." She told him. "Oh, I did for so many reasons." He responded before turning to Thanatos. "And just who are you?" He asked. Thanatos lifted a couple of feet off the ground. "Someone to change history I guess. Find the others and help them escape." He asked them before flying out.
Flash ran until he found Felicity. Before he actually got to her, he heard them talking. "I can if I was in Star City, but not on this tablet." She told a woman beside her. "Felicity!" He called out, gaining the attention of Felicity and the woman he didn't know. She turned to him and smiled. "Barry, I'm so glad you're here. This entire island is full of bombs ready to blow. Do you think you can do anything?" She asked with a hopeful expression. He nodded before turning and looked at the tower, hearing a man call unsuccessfully for Oliver.
Felicity gave Flash the tablet, showing him where all the bombs were placed. "Cisco, I need you to get here and get everyone off this island. It's rigged to blow and we don't have time to disarm all of them." Flash said on his comms. A portal opened up and Vibe stepped out. "What do we need to do?" he asked, smiling. "Is that Flash?" The man in the tower asked. Flash and Vibe turned to him. "So not the time, but I'm Curtis and I'd really love a picture with you." Curtis told them
Line Break
Oliver was fighting Adrian Chase, known in the future as Prometheus while Nyssa was handling Ninja's. Adrian kicked Oliver back, but Oliver rolled out of hit. He ran at Adrian sliding behind him before kicking his legs out from under him. He climbed on top of Adrian and punched him again and again, before Adrian was able to knee him in the ribs and jump up.
Adrian smirked at Oliver. "There's the killer we all know and love. Tell me. Do you miss being a killer?" He asked sarcastically. Oliver growled and charged at him and Adrian met his charge. Oliver had the upper hand though, and knocked him into a pillar. He picked Adrian up by his throat and threw him into another. "Where is my son!" Oliver yelled at him.
Smirking but not saying a thing, Adrian just looked up at Oliver. Oliver stood over him and punched him in the face, then kicked him in the ribs. Adrian spat out blood. Oliver yelled out, "Where is my son?" but again got no answer. Adrian threw a half hearted punch, but Oliver caught it and got behind him putting him in a choke hold and cutting off his air.
"Tell me where my son is." Oliver growled out. The way they were facing they were able to see Nyssa, Diggle, and a man with wings finish off the ninja's. Adrian watched his allies fall one by one. "Never." he whispered, slowly starting to pass out. "It's all over, but only if you do it." Adrian told him. Diggle, Lance, Nyssa, Slade, Thanatos, Dinah, and Rene all gathered and watched Oliver to see what he would do.
Oliver still had Adrian in his hold. "Do it, Oliver. Do it, and show everyone who you really are." Adrian finished. Everyone saw Oliver fight the decision to kill him. "No!" Oliver shouted out before dropping Adrian. He got up and unloaded a gun before tossing it to the side. Oliver started walking towards his allies, but stopped and turned back towards Chase. "That's who I was. That's who I was before! It's not who I am now." Oliver yelled at him as Adrian was getting air back in his lungs.
Thanatos slowly walked forward till he was by Oliver's side. "You can blame me for your father's death for the rest of your life." Oliver continued not noticing Thanatos beside him. "but I'm done blaming myself for mine." He finished turning away.
Adrian slowly got on his knees. " I knew it would come to this." He started. Oliver turned back to him. " Your son is dead." Adrian continued. Oliver stared down at Adrian while everyone behind him and Thanatos looked at each other sadly. Slade took off his helmet and kneeled down. Oliver on the other hand grabbed Adrian and put him on his knees. "I don't believe you." Oliver told him.
"I don't believe you because you are a liar. You're lying to me to manipulate me into doing what you want, but here's the thing. If you're telling the truth, if you killed my son, I am never going to be the person you want me to be. Not ever." Oliver told him, throwing him back on the ground. Suddenly him comms went off," Oliver...Oliver, do you copy?" It was Felicity.
Oliver looked confused. "Felicity?" He asked. "You can't kill chase or let him kill himself. Not before everyone is off the island." She told him. Oliver turned and looked at Adrian lying on the ground. "What are you talking about?" he asked her. "The guy rigged the whole island with explosives. They're remotely linked to some sort of dead man's switch." another voice told him. Oliver looked down at Adrian before the voice caught his attention.
"Cisco?" Oliver questioned. On the other side of the island Cisco was standing with Felicity and Thea with Flash already taking Samantha and Curtis to Star Labs via portal. "So not the time man. If that guy dies, then this whole island is going boom. Oliver, this guy WANTS you to kill him." Cisco informed Oliver as Adrian slowly got up, knowing that most of his plan has come to light.
Oliver steps towards Adrian, but he uses a flash grenade to disappear. "Hey! Guys are yall okay?" Cisco called out from the comms while Felicity was calling for Oliver.
"I'm fine." He told them while walking towards Diggle. "Can you find the plane and make sure that everyone's safe?" Oliver asked. Before Diggle could answer Thanatos stepped forward. "Already taken care of. Flash has gotten Curtis and the one named Samantha off the island and into Star Labs. As you could tell Cisco is with Felicity." He told them.
Everyone stood still while listening to Thanatos. "I think I ask this for everyone, but who are you?" Rene asked. "It doesn't matter right now. Just know that to me, this is history." Thanatos replied before turning to Oliver. "Your son is alive. Prometheus has him on a boat somewhere near the coast." Oliver stared down Thanatos before a portal opened up.
Felicity and Thea ran through and hugged Oliver. As that happened, Flash ran into the room. "I got three people into the pipeline at Star Labs, Black Siren being one of them." He told everyone. Oliver looked at everyone gathered. "Here's what we do. Cisco, open a portal and make sure everyone is safe. Barry, you're staying with me and helping me find my son. I don't know who this guy is" He said pointing to Thanatos," but I could use the help. Now let's go."
Nodding, everyone who wasn't named entered the portal that Cisco made, while Oliver, Flash, and Thanatos left to find his son.
They got to the coast and saw that Adrian was on a boat, just like Thanatos told them he'd be. " Thanatos, take to the sky and stay out of sight. Wait for a time to get the drop on him. Barry, when you see a chance...get my son." Oliver told them. The speedster and future hero both nodded and disappeared their separate ways.
Oliver ran into view of Adrian who just smirked and sped the boat up. Oliver ran, catching up with the boat. He jumped on it when it got right beside him, once he did he hit Adrian and threw him to the edge of the boat. "Where's William?" Oliver questioned him over the roar of the boat. Adrian just looked at Oliver, mockingly confused.
Thanatos flew above, watching the whole thing take place. While he had knowledge of the future, not everything was told to him when he came with the idea of time travel. Oliver stood over Adrian. "Where" punch " Is" punch "William?" Oliver questioned, punching Adrian after every word. "You really love that kid, don't you?" Adrian replied.
Growling, Oliver punched Adrian again before throwing him against the door that led inside the boat. Adrian climbed into the drivers seat and stopped the boat, then he sat down and looked at Oliver. Thanatos looked down at them confused as to what was going on. "For an absentee father your devotion is impressive." Adrian told Oliver still on the ground.
Continuing, he kept speaking while Oliver went to draw an arrow. "You're worried about your kid when everyone else you care about's on an island about to get blown sky high." Oliver just glared at him, keeping to himself that the island is empty of the people he cares for. "My friends and team can take care of themselves." he informed Adrian.
Adrian just laughed. "By using my plane to escape, right?" When he said that, Oliver froze because that had been his idea before Flash and Vibe shown up. "Their are other ways that I know of off this islands." Oliver told him, glaring down at his bloodied body. Adrian got up and moved to the door. "They won't make it in time." Adrian told him.
He opened the door and dragged a teenage boy out. "Besides, we're not finished here." Oliver quickly loaded an arrow and aimed it right at Adrian's head. Adrian brought the boy closer to him, using him as a shield. "Don't do that." he told Oliver, then smirked. "Even if you had a shot, you already told me you wouldn't kill me or have the circumstances changed? "
As he was boasting, Thanatos flew down and hit him from behind. Flash came and got William before running off again. Adrian was shocked as Oliver punched him into the door. He looked up and saw Oliver and Thanatos standing over him. "I got William to Star Labs." Oliver heard Barry tell him over comms. "Like I said, either way...I win" Adrian told them as he pulled out a gun and shot himself.
Thanatos and Oliver both turned and watched as explosion after explosion appeared on the island. A portal opened up on the boat and Barry stepped through, watching the island burn.
"It's time to go." Barry told them. The three of them stepped through the portal into Star Labs.
Line Break
After everyone got settled, all of Team Flash and Arrow were in the main lab. "All right, I think it's time we got some answers. Who are you?" Oliver qestioned Thanatos. Once again he took off his mask.
"I am Mark Danvers, the adopted son of Kara Danvers. I come from the future to warn you all of a war and the battles leading up to it that will destroy Earth." He told them. Team Arrow looked stunned. "So, that's how you knew to be there?" Felicity asked him. Mark said nothing, but nodded at her. Seeing her again wasn't something he ever thought would happen.
Oliver shook his head. "Exactly what is this threat that you are warning us of?" Once again questioning Mark. Instead of answering him, Mark turned to Barry. "What was that newspaper you told me about in the future? You told me you'd know if I asked you about it."
Barry paled while Cisco groaned. Oliver on the other hand looked confused. "The one where you go missing?" Oliver asked Barry. Barry nodded, and then asked," What does that have to do with anything?" Mark steps forward and puts a hand on his shoulder. "That is the start. A being called the Anti-Monitor will come. He will destroy Earth after Earth, starting with Earth-2. We all called this the Crisis of Infinite Earths" He responded looking at everyone in the room.
"A year before that though, another being will come here to test the heroes of this Earth. This being is named The Monitor. He will give something called the Book of Destiny to a somewhat pychopath in Gotham. After the Crisis though, we had peace. All the heroes on one Earth became stronger. No more were we only helping each other some times, but we formed a league that couldn't be beat." Mark continued. Felicity and Cisco looked giddy when he mentioned a league.
Dinah stepped forward though. "What is it that you aren't telling us?" she asked. Mark looked down. "Years later, I wouldn't say you got complacent, but a new threat came to Earth. Wave after wave, this monster sent his armies. We fought hard and we fought together, but the mistakes of your past had left you wanting. This monsters name was Darksied" Mark told them.
Cisco stepped forward while they digested this new information. "I understand the future was bad, but don't you realize that you coming here could make things worse? Did Barry not tell you about Flashpoint?" He asked while sending Barry an apologetic look
Looking around the room, he looked at every single person. "Of the people in this room, do you want to know who was the only few left fighting before I came back?" He asked, eye's starting to glow red. "Diggle, taken out by omega beams. Felicity, taking on parademons, giving your daughter time to escape you were shot through the chest. Oliver, died during the crisis. Dinah, getting people out of a collapsing building. Cisco, Iris, Frost, and a few more members that haven't joined yet, killed when Argus nuked Central City trying to kill Darkseid." Mark spat out looking at everyone he named. "I could go on and on, but I'm here to change that." He finished before he walked away.
