Anagi nodded and looked at Fischl looking right into eyes."You know the deal right, see you soon" he said, jumping down to the temple in a beeline for the unaware water Abyss Mage.
Nagi led with his polearm striking the surprised mage right in the chest as he stood on his staff riding the abyss mage all the way into the wall on the other side of the coliseum. "Hello creatures of the darkness and friends, I hate to break up this little party but you're disturbing the peace so go on get out of here" he said, shooing the monsters away as the mitachurls looked at each other and grabbed their axes .
"Ok so not much for talking huh welp" he said, taking out his weapon from the belly of the abyss mage and throwing it into an eye of the storm knocking it down from its place in the sky.
"Come get em guys I'll handle the small fries "he said running and grabbing the spear sliding under the mitachurl who swung his axe just a bit too high.
Lumine slid down and made her way straight to the two ice abyss mages who had shielded up and were raining down ice all over the battlefield. As this was happening arrows of lightning were raining down over the hillichurls making it even easier for Nagi to dispatch them.
He raced through them taking out hillichurls with kicks and swings of his polearm. He caught a hillichurl with his spear pinning it to the ground and using the momentum to swing himself above the larger shielded mitachurls bringing an electric hand down on its face, helping it meet the ground a lot faster.
As he and Fischl were thinning the herd, lumine was dodging around the abyss mages' ice spears before blowing away one of their shields. She was about to finish it off before an eye of the storm rammed into her. It then created a wall of wind trapping Lumine and Paimon away from their team.
Anagi saw this and threw his spear toward the eye, logging it in its thick rock covering. "Hit it fisch" he screamed as a lightning bolt came down on the spear electrocuting the eye and sending it down the ground where a rock drop from Lumine would finish it.
With the hillichurls mostly gone and the eye's of the storm defeated , Fischl came down as well, running straight for the abyss mage who was trying to reform its defenses. She slid under a blazing axe that would soon be dispatched by Anagi. As she lined up her shot and got the abyss mage right in between the eyes.
This left just a single Abyss mage left. They all cornered the lone survivor letting Lumine take the lead. " Ok now tell me why are you here " lLmine said as the mage laughed." Do you really think that you're that much of a threat? After all I know you would never go against you-" it said before a sword would be sent into its shield breaking it in one hit.
The abyss mage fell to the ground as lumine grabbed it by its collar." choose your words wisely, i'm a lot meaner than Aether could ever be'' she said as Paimon looked at her worried. "Um Lumine relax ok let's talk this out" Paimon said putting her little hand on Lumine's shoulder.
Lumine took a breath before throwing the mage to the ground. Fischl looked at Lumine worriedly before Anagai took over. "Well if he wont talk I think I have an idea" he said pushing his polearm into the abyss mage's neck scarf pinning him to the ground.
"Now I can tell when someone is lying ok so if you just tell us the truth i'll let you go " he said kneeling down smiling" So why are you here" he asked as the mage struggled looking around at the people surrounding him.
He sighed " Ok ok we were trying to converge as much energy here as possible to pleas-" he said as anagi's spear sent a shock to him causing the mage to scream in agony.
Paimon hid behind lumine seeing this "wow he sure does take after Lisa" she said as the abyss mage nodded."I'm sorry we needed to power something here to speak to the god that rules over this domain" he said as the spear gave no shock showing that the mage must be telling the truth.
" You seriously think Barbatos would listen to you" Lumine said before looking away thinking that maybe he would. " No no listen we need the power of" he said before screaming again as Fischl looked at Anagi.
He grabbed his spear pointing to the black and purple ooze that came out of the mage."yeah that wasn't me" he said as the mage fell over dead. "Ok so someone doesn't want us knowing that" Lumine said looking around knowing someone must have been watching them.
" Well as the d-darkness plunges into the denizens who were birthed from it we as well must return to our place of origin" Fischl said noticeably shaken as Anagi put his arm around her shoulder. "Yeah lets report this but not to Jean" he said walking back as lumine took one last look at the mage before burying him in a pile of earth.
As they walked back Paimon spoke up " shouldn't Jean be the first one to know" she said as Nagi nodded "Not in this case I love Jean to death but she isn't at a place mentally where she can help considering she has a whole town to look after. Plus I have a better idea" he said, walking into Mondstat and heading directly to the Angel Share tavern.
They walked in seeing Diluc at the bar before Nagi tapped on the bar 3 times then asking for an Angels brew. "You're still not old enough to drink yet" he said as he handed him three glasses colored red with liquid.
"Everyone the angels share will be closing early today, sorry for the inconvenience" Diluc announced as the tavern cleared out. " Ok so what is going on now must be pretty bad for you to not even want to tell Lisa''
Nagi nodded to him relaying the information to him. " Hm I see, well i'll keep an eye out for you and be careful, you're strong but not invincible" he said as Anagi smiled
"I know trust me Mom tells me the same all the time." Lumine sighed and sipped her drink as she looked at Paimon." hm maybe Inazuma has some answers, we plan to go there after all" she said getting a strong stare from Anagi.
"Excuse me why are you going there" he said as Paimon gulped "Well we wanted to speak to the archon to see if she knows anything about the abyss." he sighed as he stood
"Do you have a way there" he asked as Lumine shook her head. " well I can help you get in there. I just need a few days ok. Go to Liyue and find Ganyu. Ask her about Zola and he will get you to Beidou who can get you on the island. We will meet back up there in 4 days" he said as Lumine nodded.
They walked out of the tavern as night had set on mondstat. Anagi sighed looking at Fischl "Fisch I know what your thinking but ill be fine ok" he said at the silent girl walking beside them
"The princezin is simply concerned for her most loyal partner" she said as Anagi looked at her" look I know you want to come with but it's too dangerous for you plus there is no way your parents will be ok with that."
Fischl huffed as she started her posing "I am the master of fate and the Prinzessin der Verurteilung I do not fear such mortal dangers" she said as a loud voice boomed over from an open window. A tall Blond woman was standing in the window looking down at the group .
"Amy it's dark. I know you want to spend more time with your boyfriend but your dinner is getting cold, oh you can just bring them in if you want" she said smiling as Fischl went bright red.
She got even redder when she looked at the smug faces of Lumine and Paimon. "No thank you mom ill be right there" she said running into her house as Anagi chuckled" By sweetie see you later" he said as Fischl closed the door.
"So um you and Fischl aye" paimon said as a gloved hand clasped itself over paimons head " Cute together aren't they. I just wish she could get him to come home at decent hours of the day" Lisa said smiling angrily at him
" Welp that's my cue see you guys in 4 days " he said walking toward the library as Lisa waved goodbye to the duo sending a small bolt of lightning toward Anagi. Lumine and paimon sighed before heading out to sleep at their camp, something that Lumine loved to do despite the insistence of Jean for them to get lodging.
When morning hit they were already on their way to Liyue. When they made it into town they were happy to see that Ganyu was already out and easy to find as she was hanging out at the adventurers guild. She was talking to a blue and red haired boy with slitted pupils that reminded them of a certain nun.
"Hey Ganyu glad you're here we-" " You should spend more time here you know that we're concerned for your safety" Ganyu said as the boy looked away embarrassed. " Momma relax, I wasn't even gone that long this time and I even sent a few letters" He said as Ganyu grabbed his ears before waving to the traveler.
"Oh hello sorry I just need to impart the wisdom of contacting his poor mother sometimes" she said as Paimon blinked "Does everyone have a kid we don't know about?!" she said as Ganyu laughed letting him go. "Oh sorry I thought I mentioned him. This is my son Zola"
She said elbowing him in the side as he bowed "Nice to meet you traveler i've heard a lot about you" he said before folding his arms " I would love to stay but I have to speak to a certain consultant about why the jade chamber is gone and then I have to make an apology tour afterwards so I will have to go" he said walking past as Lumine grabbed his wrist
" Wait your the person Nagi told us to talk to. We need you to get Beidou to get us to Inazuma'' she said as Zola stopped before looking back at an upset Ganyu. "I'm sorry traveler but my Son just got back. He is not leaving again, especially to that wasteland."
she said as Zola looked at his mom softly starting to even look like her. " I'm not going anywhere. I promise ok I'm just gonna help them out. Plus I don't have a choice as I kinda owe the guy" he said giving his mom a kiss on the cheek as he gestured for them to follow before Ganyu huffed
"You had better be back before nightfall ok or else i'm sending Yanfei after you" she said before walking back to her job. Zola held up a thumbs up as he made his way to the funeral palor.
Lumine didn't know if she was ready to see Zhongli as she nervously looked around the city. Maybe she should let the conversation wait and focus on the business at hand." So why Inazuma there is nothing there but sadness and purple" he said as Lumine explained to him her issues
'' Oh I see khanri'ah aye hmm well when you get back tell me what happens I have a few leads that can help but first. " he said knocking on Wanshengs door. The door flew open hitting Zola right in the head and onto the floor.
"Chaka your- oh it's just you if your looking for Zhongli he isn't here right now" The small director said before seeing the traveler "Oh hello were you finally interested on that two for 1 special"
Paimon quickly shook her head'' What is up with you and death" she said as Hu Tao laughed. Zola stood up and rubbed his forehead. "Nice to see you too Hu" he said as he sighed
" Well since the old turtle isn't here I guess it's time to talk to beidou." he said before hu tao grabbed his shirt" Soooo do you know if…" she said as he looked her apologetically
"Sorry as far as I know she is still in sumeru" he said as Hu tao nodded and walked back into the parlor slamming the door. "Chaka please hurry back before she starts hurting people" he said as he walked to the port.
Lumine looked at him questiongly before he moved his hand up showing he didn't want to get into it. "So are you also part adepti?" paimon asked as he nodded" Yep i'm part a lot of things. I'm basically a science experiment if you would. What would happen if you crossed an illuminated beast with the blood of an Archon and had a human be the incubator, that is me."
he said as both Lumine and Paimon showed their confusion. "Basically i'm a product of that fusion. It was part of some fatui experiment however Ganyu didn't like the thought of me being some super weapon so she took me and escaped back to her home here in liyue. If you want the rest of the story though that will have to wait"
they approached a tall and muscular woman drinking from a flask." Well kid I hope you don't want another trip because your mom would kill me if you were gone that long again." Beidou said as Zola shook his head
"No but they need one to inazuma specifically" he said as Beidou raised an eyebrow. "Oh well I won't question your reasoning but that's a dangerous move" She said as she smiled at Zola
" You know I can pay ok and I don't have a choice considering Anagi is the one who sent them." Zola said, answering before she could ask, causing her to smile "glad to do business with you, so when do you plan to leave." She said as she closed her flask and put it away.
" 3 days please oh and prepare for 3 passengers" Paimon said as Beidou nodded "Easy work. I'll be ready just to let you know I'm not doing return trips." She said as they nodded. "Well that seems settled so I have to hurry to Juyeun Karst to say hello or else granny will lecture more than she is going to." Zola said walking off to the mountains.
Lumine nodded as she walked away smiling. She was finally going to get some answers." Do you really think this is safe I mean if what Dainsleif said actually has something to do with the archons" Paimon said as Lumine nodded" I know but I need to understand what is going on here and why my brother is so hell bent on his mission." Lumine said as she set up camp just outside Liyue Harbor. " I'm going to find out what is going on no matter what"
