Chapter 2

Taking A Stroll

Years later...

It was a nice day in the Whispering Woods. Someone was firing arrows. She was quick on her feet and was very agile. She was hunting down a wild boar. She managed to hit it with one shot.

She went over to examine it but then she heard the cries of Hilichurls. She looks up to see a few of them jump down from a low cliff. Eyeing the Hilichurls, she extended both her arms on either side of her and a spiral of purple Geo Crystals appeared. The crystals hit all the Hilichurls, making them disappear.

The girl went back to her wild boar and cut it up into small portions. She put them in a sack and carried it back home.

She arrived at a small cottage that was made out of the elements of the Earth. She entered to see Shona, the one person who raised her over the years.

"Shona! I'm back!" she said.

"Hello Starlight. Glad you've returned. What did you bring this time?" Shona asks.

Starlight puts down the sack of meat.

"Just some meat. I also ran into some Hilichurls." Starlight said casually.

"You fought them off I assume?" Shona said.

"Yep." Starlight replied.

"Starlight. I think it's time you go see the world." Shona said.

"Why? You told me to always stay here."

"Yes but you've been venturing farther each day and I've seen your powers growing stronger."

"So?"

"So, why don't you go and have a fun adventure." Shona said.

"Alright. I suppose it wouldn't hurt. I guess I'll see you later then." Starlight said as she headed out the door.

"Be careful out there!" Shona called out.

Starlight walks through the Whispering Woods, enjoying the day. Then she heard a voice. Frowning, she follows on where the sound is coming from. She found it coming from a young bard talking to a dragon. The dragon then flies away, creating gusts of wind with his wings.

Starlight looks up at it in awe. "Wow..."

"Oh! Hello there!" said a young voice.

Starlight turns around to see the same young bard looking back at her with kind carefree eyes and a wide smile.

"Oh um hi." Starlight says.

"Don't think I've seen you around here before." he said.

"Oh, I'm not from around here. I came from the Whispering Woods."

"The Whispering Woods? You mean you've been living there your whole life?"

"Pretty much." Starlight said.

"Wow. That's pretty impressive. What's your name?" he asks.

"Starlight." Starlight said.

"Nice to meet you Starlight! I'm Venti the Bard!" Venti introduced.

Starlight gave Venti a confused look. "Bard?"

"You don't know what a bard is?" Venti asks.

Starlight shrugs in a apology. "No. Sorry."

"Let's just say that I play a song for the people of Mondstadt." Venti explained.

"Oh, really? That sounds nice. And where is this Mondstadt?"

"It's not too far from here. I can take you there, if you like." Venti offers.

"Sure." Starlight said.
