The journey to the laboratory was rather short, or seemingly short because along the way 'Fubuki' ended up falling asleep and resting peacefully in her sisters arms. Or at least that's what Dio had thought had happened, his spatial and time awareness had been rather dulled significantly by his newfound 'youth'. He had gotten tired and fell asleep awfully fast too, was that the result of his little walk and stand use from before? Weak!
He wasn't sure what happened between then and after that. When Dio woke up he was now in a small white room, it was lightly decorated with sone toys, some furniture, and including the small bed he was laying in. The room was plain and boring with nothing in it that made it stand out in any way, although it was still better then anything he ever had in his own childhood, it didn't compare to the lavish bedroom and vast library he had in Egypt.
I suppose I'll just stay here and look around at the walls. It seems that there is little for me to do here other then play with children's toys, how degrading... oh, is that reading material I see?
Noticing a small bookshelf close by Dio picked a book at random and opened it. When it showed him a cartoonish drawing of a cow spelling out words Dio chucked it at the wall, the book only made it a little bit in front of him.
A few minutes later the door opened, revealing yet another white coat. The man silently grabbed his sides and lifted him up to be carried.
Dio contemplated running The Worlds fist through the mans chest and tearing out his spine, but he relented and allowed the man to carry him out the room. It was really quite bothersome having to let such vermin treat him like that, but since his current appearance indicated childishness and innocence Dio decided let such transgressions go. Until his body was a little bit more capable of articulating the manner of murderous rage in which he felt, Dio would simply keep observing the situation. He needed more information until he could properly act out or force them to submit to his will.
He was guided through a hallway into a room with a peculiar machine, it had a chair attached to it alongside complicated looking machinery. Dio wondered if it was some type of elaborate execution device before he heard the scientists mention its purpose in their psychobabble Dio half listened to.
Testing psychic potential? The fact that there's a machine here for that at all implies that such energy can be detected somehow. Although I likely have yet to manifest such psychic powers myself, unlike my sister... Perhaps I could them give a demonstration of something else? Something much stronger then the ability to float objects.
Dio felt the metal helmet placed on his head, he waited to see the results out of curiosity.
"Are you sure this right? I'm not getting anything here." One scientist said confusion.
"Try it again, both me and the director saw it."
No results? A pity, I guess I should demonstrate I'm not as weak as I look then. So come to me! The World!
"Wurld." Dio froze time.
One second passed.
The World drove multiple a fists through the device, tearing off the machines metal covers. He proceeded to rearrange the insides of it beyond recognition, expensive and complicated parts broken instantly with his stands fists.
Two seconds passed.
For a little morbid amusement, Dio grabbed a small bolt from a panel and threw it straight into the forehead of one of the scientists, making a small indentation on her It was a girl perhaps in her early twenties, an intern maybe? Well, her brain matter splattered onto her colleagues should entertain him a little, if anything. The rest of them might be of importance so he'll resign himself to only killing one of them.
Correction, a tragic accident. Who could guessed that the machine would have overloaded and killed someone? Such freak accidents may happen in the pursuit of dangerous research.
Three seconds passed.
Dio pinched himself slightly with The Word, and he felt an awful lot more pain then he would have in his previous adult body after self inflicted harm. Unfortunate, but at least his extra sensitivity should help maintain his cover easier. Dio felt tears stream down his eyes and face, a degrading display but necessary of someone his age.
Time resume...
The yelling and screaming of the scientists was music to his ears. Although due to the minor pain he inflicted on himself his body wasn't unable to contain himself from crying. Of course some scientists ran away while some rushed over to him, a couple others attended to the corpse of the girl.
I should hope that proves how volatile my abilities are, and that they should be careful when putting me into odd looking contraptions. It's dangerous trying to gauge the power of a god-to-be, like trying tomeasure the heat generated by the sun itself. Whendoing such the end result of such curiosity is dangerous.
Dio felt himself slowly and carefully lifted out of the chair. Carried away again to a hallway then new set of rooms, this time it was a different place. Dio glanced around and was pleasantly surprised to see her dear sister Tatsumaki sitting quietly on the floor curled up in a ball. He felt himself placed down in front of her.
"Fubuki!" Naturally, her sister went from her depressive state to an excited one as she went to hug him, again. Dio heard the door close behind them too.
What a touching family reunion... have the scientists analyzed the amount your own psychic power, I wonder? I'll need to get you to show me somehow.
"It's okay sis. I'm here." Tatsumaki whispered into his ear. Dio was unaffected by his sisters attempts at being consoled, because he was perfectly fine, but he decided to humor her actions anyway.
Your real sister has likely perished in the process of my rebirth in her body. There is most likely nothing left of her existence besides her physical appearance and body. Instead of a weak willed child though you have ME now, someone fated to achieve far greater things then either of you ever could of possibly done on your own!
Truly, you have been blessed with a better and more superior sibling Tatsumaki. I guess I'll take it upon myself to remain a doting sister at your side... so long as you prove yourself especially useful to me and nothing less. I am curious as to what your stand... or psychic abilities are, and how they could be utilized. Convenient that we are in just the place to test such things isn't it?
Tatsumaki wiped his self inflicted tears away, and Dio allowed himself to fall against her sister chest to be cradled. Dio strained a smile at her sister, feeling the sensation of being comforted by a little girl as a most detestable situation to be in.
Using The World takes quite a bit more energy out of me then it should... perhaps I'll save primary usage for more life threatening situations. Tatsumaki... do be a sweetheart and protect your sister while she's sleeping, I seem to be running low in loyal subordinates willing to be meat shields. That's the purpose of older brothers and sisters isn't it? To protect their younger siblings with their lives? I could most certainly use another fanatically loyal servant until I regain my strength, and who better to serve me then an older protective sibling?
...
Dio woke up for the third time and was pleased to see his situation hadn't changed. Tatsumaki also seemed to have fallen into slumber. Though instead of the floor they were in her slightly larger bed, curled up within a few soft blankets.
It wouldn't be the first time I've laid with a girl in bed... but most certainly not such an familial way like this. I seem to feel well rested again though, but now I'm bored again. Can you provide me with some entertainment sister?
Dio poked Tatsumaki's chest, her face, her cheek, and her nose. Tatsumaki mumbled something incoherently about sleep, she tried lightly swatting her sisters hand away but in response to that Dio bit her finger.
"Owie!" She woke up. "Ow, are you hungry sis?"
Yes I am a bit famished, a shame I'm no longer a vampire. Your room might look more visually appealing with a few more corpses added to it, drained of their blood sprawled across the ground. I think it would really liven up your room. Unfortunately I'm not so sure you would be able to appreciate my artistic creativity. A pity, I suppose experiencing food for children should be a mildly interesting activity. It should be reminiscent to experience the actual taste as a human once more.
"Let's get you something to eat. I'm kinda hungry too." Tatsumaki rolled out of bed.
Dio allowed his sister to help him off the bed. Tatsumaki attempted to open the door but it was apparently locked.
"Oh. I guess we'll have to wait." Tatsumaki said with disappointment.
Dio flexed the world, and snapped off the doors lock.
"Oh umm, you must really be hungry." Tatsumaki glanced at her sister for moment with a look.
"Okay, Let's go!"
It took a couple minutes for them to run into someone, another man wearing a suit. He didn't seem to recognize them though.
"Hey what are you two doing out of your rooms?" He seemed to say with annoyance.
Noticing their presence, a white coated researcher from a bit away seem to scramble towards the three with a terrified expression.
"S-sir! Procedure D-Five. The new ones."
"...Oh! W-well what do you two misses want?" He crouched down, his tone suddenly became much more friendly.
"Me and my sister are hungry mister, can we get some food?" Tatsumaki asked.
"Right away. This nice man will lead you to the cafeteria."
While they began walking Dio overheard a few others behind them talking, following them, and he listened in.
"What was D5 again?" One whispered to another.
"Highest sentient danger level basically. Powerful human subjects that are emotionally unstable can be risky to punish for uncooperative behavior extensively, so we found it better to bribe and give them more freedom in certain activities. Usually because most of that type are volatile so they're unlikely to leave if they've gotten comfortable here."
"Wouldn't it be a problem if we had a lot of them started acting out at once though?"
"We haven't had too many to begin at once so it hasn't come up, though the director always recommends a mix between persuasive methods and force. There's been one time where we managed to subdue one rebellious D5 with another loyal one a few times... so any issues there with the stronger ones aren't too significant to worry about. Still, it doesn't hurt to be careful."
"Hmm, good to know. So which of them is the new D5? The green girl?"
"The toddler actually. Apparently she broke the psychic testing device, even a single casualty happened from the machine exploding."
"Huh?! What the- so we have a deadly psychic toddler walking around? What do we do if she throws a tantrum? I'm not so sure the usual methods are going to work on someone that young... and if she doesn't have good control... then it would be like a baby snake releasing too much venom, being more likely to kill someone then an adult with control. It might wreck the place."
"That's what some of the upper guys thought too, so to keep her under control they decided that we'd use her sisters presence to calm her for the most part, teach her the ropes of the place. Green hair got some pretty good results herself and she's really timid, so that'll probably help ease both of them into the program."
"Yeah. You think that-
Dio was straining himself using The World to try to hear the two, but the farther away they got the more difficult it had become to hear and eventually he had to recall his stand. At least they were walking slow enough for him to hear the important pieces of that conversation.
So such a display of violence and power warrants further caution and compliance on part of the researchers? Oh how wonderful! Maybe I should postpone my plans to ditch this place in favor of acquiring the lab for myself. If there are other powerful experiments here that may be used to impede me here I should see if I can control or kill them before usurping this so called director. This could be a valuable starting point for a new army and organization.
Dio considered his current physical age the most significant hurdle to overcome when trying to make others his servants. And unfortunately he found the time frame of when he'd be able to do such a thing versus building up contacts on his own accord and exploring the world difficult to decide.
It shouldn't be too difficult to escape in perhaps... a few years. Once I can walk and talk at the bare minimum necessary for complex communication and learn all there is about this place I can probably just go to the director and calmly explain my situation. Whatever his plans for this place are, I'm sure a few violent deaths and demonstrating my power should be enough gentle persuasion to show who has the real power...
Dio glanced back for a moment narrowed his eyes at the two scientists far back, they seemed to be still conversing.
Using my sickeningly passive and shy sister to 'teach me the ropes' huh? That isn't too bad of an idea for subtle manipulation tactics, however that girl Tatsumaki belongs to ME now. So in light of this discovery of your opinions I'll make sure to eventually show you two the ropes, that is, a rope around your necks strangling you to death for insinuating that my sister would be my role model.
I guess by their words that also means this is an entirely different organization, after all someone allied to the Joestars wouldn't be taking away children for research purposes... I might've done that myself if the opportunity arose... although if that was the case the Speedwagon Foundation was engaging in immoral research that would be hilarious!
Dio took in the smells as he entered the new room. Again he was reminded that his senses had been dulled to human levels, and less so as a tiny child. He eyed the area and saw it wasn't particularly large, and most people eating were various scientists, save for a couple peculiar looking individuals, most younger then the adults. Dio suspected they were fellow D5's.
Ah yes special treatment, at least the food doesn't look too bad. It doesn't compare to the occasional euphoric feeling of drinking fresh blood, seems I'll need to get used to normal food again. Another disappointment that humans cannot consume blood in a healthy manner.
He and his sister were seated at a nearby table and handed a lunch bag, inside were a pair of sandwiches.
Bread, meat, cheese. lettuce, tomato. This should be sufficient nutrients. A tad complicated to eat with my mouths smaller size.
Some more time passed as he and his sister finished eating quietly. Dio overheard a couple of the researchers speaking while Tatsumaki was distracted by the sight of another person, a younger person coming to the table.
"Should we proceed now?" One researcher whispered to another.
"We should wait just a moment. The other D5 just came, he should be able to introduce Fubuki's sister to the hierarchy we have here."
Dio slowly felt his killing intent slowly rise back up, and he looked back over to Tatsumaki and the potential threat. A young boy that was similar to Tatsumaki's age, but a bit bulkier and with dirty blonde hair.
"Haven't seen you around here before." He leaned on the table.
"Yeah. Me and sister got here yesterday."
Has it been that long already?
"Newbies huh? We'll you can me Reno, I'm something of a big deal around here."
Are you know? If you hold yourself so high why are you still here in a gilded cage?
"Oh, uh. Nice to meet you." Tatsumaki extended a hand. "I'm- ah!" He slapped away her hand.
"Don't care. Just follow the lab guys orders and we won't have any problems. You've eaten, so you should be going somewhere for testing now, yeah? He motioned to a research close by.
"O-okay..." Tatsumaki glanced over at Fubuki for a moment as she was guided away.
"Let's go now." Another researcher attempted to grab Fubuki, but his hand was swatted away by The World.
Dio watched someone led his sister away, and he narrowed his eyes at Reno.
Reno glanced at Fubuki. "Something wrong runt?"
Ordering around my future thrall is unforgivable! I'll show you for messing with a gods property!
He waited until Tatsumaki was guided out of the room before The World phased into reality, invisible to all in the room but Fubuki. Dio slammed a foot against the kids shin and leg, crushing and tearing it off completely.
As Reno was about to scream Dio put a hand into his mouth, lifted him up into the air and with that hand inside The World ripped his off jaw completely.
Dio felt the blood splashed all over his small body, the moment was beautifully reminiscent of one very fun bloody night he had in England. Though one key difference from then and now was that bloods coppery taste wasn't particularly satisfying now.
Dio gagged as he swallowed a bit of it, and in rage at the pleasure of blood consumption being taken away he tore the child's body in half and threw the newly made corpse and its entrails across the room into a table. Terribly startling the people there.
The various lab workers on break in the room and others around him promptly ran away screaming, while a couple familiar faces closest oddly seemed to stay near.
"Doc! Get her sister-
Dio raised a hand to stop him, and he quickly tripped the 'doc' running away with his stand.
"Di- eh- " Dio scrunched his face in frustration of his voice.
"Decter now. No sister."
"You want to speak to the director."
Dio nodded. His fierce bloodstained face contrasting with his cute appearance.
The suited man glanced at the scientist rapidly nodding his head. "V-very well, I understand."
Having to deal obstructive vermin is quite annoying. I'll have to seize control sooner then I expected.
