On a seemingly endless expanse of blue waters there could be seen a small speck, a little boat floating about.
I didn't have any food or water when I escaped the merchant ship, and it's been two days. Two agonizing, extremely mundane days. Days, in which I had done nothing but lay on hard wood. I groaned weakly, watching a lone cloud slowly move across the sky.
I don't know how many miles away from land I am, I know nothing about navigation and I have no map. Maybe my luck stat will save me? That`s the only thing I can hope for, except a painless death.
Now that I have not a thing to do, I get lost in thought. I imagine all the worlds I could've visited, the power I could have gotten, about being at the very top of all creation. I think about the being that granted me the Gamer, that god must be disappointed in me right now.
I thought about what would happen if I had been thrown into a completely different world, about how many worlds there are, about the journey...
Everything suddenly became darker, I couldn't see the sun. There weren't any clouds in the sky last time I checked, is this...
"L- land?" I said groggily, raising my head slightly. A mountain?
Suddenly I heard a crack, and dull pain followed. I almost got catapulted as the boat hit something. I struggled to stay in it, but I didn't manage and I fell foward.
A rotting carcass.
That was where I landed. The smell was putrid enough that my long-dry eyes watered, my chainmail couldn't stop the disguisting juices soaking into my robes. I quickly stumbled off of it, If I had eaten I'd puke. I tried to clean myself of the flesh bits, but to no avail, a grimace adorned my face.
Should I abandon my armor? It would be way lighter, and some of the smell would be gone. No, that's a bad idea- my armor is my only real defense at the moment, I'd rather be tired than die.
I looked around, I was on a rocky beach, there were some boulders in the water and between them a pile of planks resembling a boat. On my other side there was a tall, stone cliff stretching all the way to the horizon, impassable in my current condition. The animal I landed on probably fell from up there, other than that I don't see anything of note.
I started walking. It was incredibly difficult, as if I was carrying the whole world on my shoulders, but I somehow kept on and I walked for a long time. I was exhausted, starving and extremely thirsty, I thought of nothing but survival.
It was getting dark, and my form could still be seen stumbling on the rocks.
It was a bright night, a full moon was lighting up my way in a silvery gloom. I let out a groan, almost like a zombie.
How long will it be?
W-what? I'm not walking, what's happening? I felt something, I was laying on some soft material, I hear the light crackling of fire. A fireplace, it felt homely. Where am I?
I slowly opened my eyes to see a wooden ceiling, and a spider crafting a web up there.
I heard a soothing hum outside, it was raining. A lot was going on in my mind, mostly questions. "Wh-here am I?" I rasped, my throat immensely dry. "Oh, you woke up" I hear a young voice say, I turn my head to blurilly see a small girl, probably in her early teens next to an older woman, most likely her grandmother. The girl came to me and handed me something, I sat up to see a wooden mug filled with what I assumed to be water. I leaned against a wall, drank the water in four grand gulps and sighed. "ahh..." I was in a state of bliss, any level of comfort after all that is comparable to being high.
"Who are you?" asked the youngling, I looked at her, she was staring at me with a tilted head, waiting till I respond. Quite sudden.
"I'm Voruo"
"And my name's Aaricia", she replied with a bright smile. The girl then ran out of the room, looking for something to play with.
"So," the old lady began "yet another castaway appears on our shore, Aegir bless your suffering soul." she told, with her melancholic expression she was looking at something, like it was far away.
"My boat crashed who knows how far away from this place"
"It doesn't matter now, you're safe"
"And I thank you for that, I am in your debt." Yeah, no. I'll get an interdimensional fortress pretty soon as per my Gamer status, but I need to keep up appearances for a time, I don't know where I am.
Why am I so calm after such a experience? Gamers mind? Yeah, probably that.
The woman smiled warmly "You're most welcome, young man."
Then came the silence, it was not awkward as I had to lay down. I was still tired, I need to rest.
I wonder, if I stayed on Buggy's ship... If I didn't burn my way to the safe, when I think about it, all of this wouldn't have happened if I controlled my greed. My luck saved me, but it is not a thing I can always rely on. I need to think before I act, my sin controlled me back then, in the merchant ship. Luck can't cure stupidity.
Sleep slowly overcame me, even though I just woke up, this is too comfortable...
When I woke up again, there was noone in the room. I noticed some flatbread near the edge of the bed. Voices could be heard outside, no rain. I got off the bed and noticed I was only wearing a cloth that covered my private parts.
I looked for anything to put on, and I saw my chainmail, it was on the floor, cleaned. On it there was a long sleeved wool shirt, pants and crude leather boots. There was no helmet, did I lose it?
Well, it doesn't matter now.
I got dressed, leaving the chainmail. I truly doubt it will be of use, as I'm probably in some village. I go outdoors, and immediately notice a chicken wandering around on the mostly grassless ground. There are some wooden, viking-like houses built in a chaotic manner. I can see a well in the centre of this plane, some women lining up to get water. There's a high but thin stone tower shadowing the houses from a distance, it has two wooden poles at the top which makes it into a "T". It could be the village chief's house, probably was here before the village. Three kids could be seen playing, running across the scenery.
It's cloudy but no rain, also a little windy. I decided to have a look around, and began strolling across the village. I breathed in deep, this is the first time I got to appreciate the truly clean air, now that I see it, in my old life there was no life.
Beautiful. The birds chirping, clouds rolling across the sky, cold wind blowing... I know I'm chaotic evil, but I can like the feel of this place. Not every villain has to be a 'dislike everything emo'. Normal life could be actually pleasurable, but I need to surpass everything, I won't rest when I know there's something out there that can end me. I want to get stronger. only then will I live a truly enjoyable life. And with the Gamer that is very much possible.
I think I've got to go talk to the village chief if I want to get a house, so I took some turns to get to a path that leads directly to the tower. This one has stone pavement, clearly a main road.
This place doesn't seem like One Piece, even if I know it is. The people look normal, not in the characteristic drawing style, it's pretty unusual, I wonder how some devil fruit abilities would look like.
From the distance I could see that there was a guard standing next to the door of the tower, probably trying not to fall asleep in the soothing atmosphere of this place.
As I neared him he noticed me, but said nothing. "May I enter? I have to speak to the chief, I want to buy property in the village." I said.
"Who are you, why do you think you can afford it? And his proper rank is Earl, you must refer to him as such." He told. I let out a short laugh, before reaching a pocket, summoning some Beri from my inventory in there- making it look like I had the cash in the pocket. When I showed it to the guard, he seemed confused, and let me in.
The inside resembled the Jarl's throne room from Whiterun in Skyrim, but much smaller to fit the tower, and less grand. The one I wanted to speak to could be seen sitting on his throne, a large chair with furs covering it. He was imposing, his scaled armor covered in scratches, underneath it were black furs, one of them coming out of the back to form something akin to a cape, his pants were thick leather with steel plating on knees, thighs and ankles. There were some people inside, three of them in armor, they were eating at twin tables.
The Earl was drinking from a small barrel, not noticing my presence. I walked up to him, and greeted myself as properly as I could, I should make a good impression, just to be safe. A lone, judging eye glanced at me, the other obscured by the barrel. His gulping stopped, before resuming after a few seconds, I waited there standing before him.
Another man, one that was sitting in a corner came to me. "What do you want, younglin'? I speak for him" He then nudged his head at the Earl.
"I wish to buy a settlement here in the village."
He stopped for a while, then said "There's no house for sale." I decided to [Observe] him, something tells me he's lying.

Thoughts about you - An annoyance.
He's got high INT and WIS, his title fits him well.
"Is there really?" I replied, raising a brow. He looks a bit irritated, impatient much...
Ah! I think I understand now, I have to be a resident to buy a house, and in a village of a few hundered people, you can recognize most faces, that's my only explanation of this situation. Then, how do I become one? Is there some kind of paper I've got to sign? An act of kindness maybe? Nah, this isn't skyrim- It's probably the former option.
"Hey, you listening?" the man asked. Oh, he was saying something?
"Oh, sorry. What was it again?"
"You gotta be one of us to make the village a home." Yeah, so he said that. "You gotta have some ale with Adryt" He added.
What? That caught me off guard, there's nothing to sign? Nothing to do? Unusual tradition, but okay. I guess that's somewhat convenient. My only concern is that they poisoned the drink, but that's unlikely; why would someone go out of their way to poison a 'nobody' like me? "And who's that Adryt?"
"Earl." He replied, on his way back to his seat. When I turned to the village leader, he was holding his drink out for me to get it. I took it and drank some, it burned my mouth but I refrained from spitting it out. I gave it back to him, then bowed slightly.
He grinned slightly,"Welcome. Jus' don't do things you wouldn't want done to you." he told in a deep voice. So that's it, I'm now a resident. "Now that that's out of the way, may I purchase the house?"
"The ruin outside of the walls... Give me a million beri." What? That's ridiclous! That much for something he called a ruin?!
Nah, I've got a lot more than that, besides beri isn't comparable to dollars, it's more like yen, so a million is about $10.000? I guess it's not that expensive after all. I pulled out the money the same way I showed it the guard, and gave it to him. He handed the money to a short old man with a thick book and a quill. The short guy quickly walked out of the room.
"What now?" I asked the Earl.
"Now you wait." Someone behind me answered. I turned my head to only see people dining. Meh, it was probably one of them.
I walked up to a wall and leaned against it. This isn't too bad, I got myself a house; I'll be able to finally start training, I don't feel that bad but I still think I should wait a day or two, it's not possible that I healed so quickly, even with the help of Gamer's body, I think so at least.
...
...It's quite boring to wait, especially when I don't exactly know what I'm waiting for. Presumably it's the midget coming back, but still.

Thoughts about you - A little suspicious
Not far from what I predicted, his stats fit him well, except maybe the wisdom. And luck. His luck stat is abyssmal, no wonder he had to get so strong to survive.
About the thoughts, it's understandable. A homeless guy appears out of nowhere, demands a house and pays for it - doesn't exactly sound credible. Then why did I go with this plan? I have no idea.
Well, I guess it's at least the fact that three to four instant dungeons would probably get me on Earl's level, and my Luck will take care of any major inconveniences.
Then I observed some random things,

Wha..? Game! Why the fuck did you leave me for such a long time?! It's been what, five days? And what are you thanking me for?
I got into a fight with Vingnish.
He earsed my conciousness and I had to reform. Don't worry, we battle all the time.
I thank you for living, I had a bet with him, I win if you survive.
...Let me just ignore that, I don't want to get between the clashes of literal gods.
Now that you're here I just got to heal up, then grinding will begin.
There's no need to 'heal up', your HP regeneration took care of any physical damage before you were found by the locals.
Neat!
Also, I nerfed your luck. Vingnish wanted me not to, but we managed to get to a compromise; the amount is still the same, and it still affects your in game luck like gacha, dungeon loot and the kind, however you no longer get lucky in the world. The devil fruit you found was something your luck stat made possible, just like you landing on a soft animal instead of a rocky beach when you crashed; those types of things will not happen anymore.
Hmm. I saw that coming, I guess I've got to be more careful from now on.
Observing is the only thing I can do right now, so what about this hooded guy?

Hmm, I remembered something.
Coby, he was drafted into her crew. He stayed there for what, a month? I'm not sure. But this is a very good sign, I have at the very least a few weeks till canon starts. I have no idea if Luffy has plot armor in this world, and I'm not willing to test that out. 0.001% Chance to get Luke's Ring - the ring of Vingnish. It grants you infinite Magic, Health, Stamina, access to the Code, the ability to control time/space, to rewrite timelines and to materialize any item.
Thank you so much Game, but isn't this a bit risky? What if I get this 'Luke's Ring'? Wouldn't that grant me the power to kill Vingnish? Does he know about this quest?
He knows about it. You wouldn't even be close to him if you got the ring; he can grant himself an infinite amount of wishes, like Super Shenron from Dragon Ball Super, but without the limitations, and that's one of his weaker powers.
You're not nearly strong enough to even comprehend the vast existence of his being.
I waited for some time, and the midget came back with a small iron key. He walked up to me, said "house" and handed me the key.
"Uh, okay.." I replied, I guess I gotta go check out my new property. I said goodbye to everyone inside, and headed outside. I started walking, then realized I hadn't asked for directions to my new home. Meh, I'll find it, I think Earl said it's outside the village.
It shouldn't be that hard to find.
Finding my way to the house took longer than I am able to admit, the cursed village had so many passages!
The house wasn't the smallest, it resembled Breezehome from Skyrim, it seemed as if noone lived here for quite a long time, judging by the webs and moss. But it's of higher quality than I expected, Earl told me it's a ruin, it'll be a long time before it would become one, I guess he dislikes this house for some reason.
Well, I guess I'm here now, let's check out the inside.
I opened the door with the key I was given, there were several webs and a ladder to a platform in the corner, on the platform a broken barrel.
"This is good enough for now"I sat on the floor and sighed, a lot has happened in the past days.
Those people, the Earl and his... guards? It's entirely possible he's the capitan of a retired pirate crew. The way he welcomed me to the village by sharing alcohol is a clue, it's the primary greeting of pirates in One Piece. His strength, four question mark titles and very strong guards also lead in that direction.
Oh yeah, I forgot my chainmail, I should go get it.
And so I walked back to the village, now that I somewhat knew what's where it didn't take me too long. I grabbed the chainmail, which was in the old lady's house, and got back to my new place. Some people looked at me, probably beacause I'm a newcomer, but it was mostly eventless.
Now that I have a place to sleep, what should I do? Ah yes, the grinding- my ascent on the mountain of power is finally gonna begin.
With nothing else to do, I said "ID create", and a dark portal opened before me like a crack in reality. It emitted a dim red glow and it hummed low.
Crossing the portal, I stepped on what felt like dirt, then looked around. I was on faded grass, endless hills with dead trees dotting the landscape. There were some castle ruins in the distance, no life in sight. I noticed some skeletons, they were incredibly slow. I Observed one.

Thoughts about you - None, it's a damn skeleton, it has no brain.
Infinite stamina? Well, it's undead, why should it get tired? I summoned a fireball, firing it at the nearest enemy.
Dead in one hit. These skeletons are so weak. Or maybe it's the fact that fire deals a lot of damage?
I waited for the other monsters to come close enough, then I erected a Wall of Flames. They walked into it, seemingly not seeing it. Three fell, one lost a leg and arm. Before the Wall of Flames dispersed I fired a barrage of fireballs into the fire. The fire dissipated, revealing a lone enemy surrounded by a few small bone piles. I neared the last standing, it had a shortsword. I summoned a fire lance in a position ready to strike. I speared it, or so I thought. The skeleton managed to dodge to the right. It swung its sword in a wide arc, I blocked it with the lance, took a step foward, knocked it to the ground with a headbutt and speared it through the head.
Why was it so fast? It's supposed to be a low level enemy. Nevermind that, more are coming.
I spammed fireballs at the group, some died instantly, others burned to ashes and a few survived but there were none unharmed. I waited a minute so my Magic could regenerate and killed the survivors with a new Fire Lance.
I walked to the castle at a slow pace, on the way there I encountered more and more skeletons, they were beginning to annoy me. By the time I reached the castle, I killed more than a hundred of them. The castle was imposing, even though it was in such a bad state. There was no entrance to be seen, so I walked beside th old stone wall.
After a minute I came across a wooden gate, approximetly ten meters in height. I tried to open it, it didn't budge, but the wood seemed to be very weak, as if throwing a rock would make a hole. I shot a fireball at it, it came right through, igniting the wood. I repeated the process until there was enough space for me to get inside, then I waited for it to stop burning, no skeletons appeared when I was before the gate. I wonder why, maybe there's a boss in there?
I summoned two Fire Lances for each of my hands, one can never be too catious.
There was no inside, in the walls there was a large open space, cracked stone floor and a unusual skeleton of some creature on the other end of the walls. So that's the boss, I Observed it right away.

A hippo skeleton? I didn't know their skulls were that scary looking.
It's still not moving? So it's one of these bosses that won't attack until the player deals damage. Well that's convenient, I should think of a plan.
So I'll spear its head with two Fire Lances, hopefully dealing 600 damage, then back away, put down a Wall of Flames in front of it, make it burn with an Ignite Target, so the boss will be getting continuously damaged, then barrage the area with fireballs. When it gets out of there, I'll summon Fire Lances and try to get as many max damage hits as possible.
I hope that strategy will work. I walked up to the skeleton, when I was an arm's reach from it I summoned fire lances for each of my hands. I leaped to attack, before noticing it wasn't there. I turned around to see the skeleton galloping towards me fast, I had just enough time to jump out of the way. The boss rammed its head on the stone, it had no way of slowing down. It slowly got itself out of the hole, leaving a sizable dent. Fuck, I should've attacked that moment!
It turned towards me, and charged. I ran full speed at the hippo. Just as it was about to strike me, I jumped as high as I could, throwing both my lances blindly under me. I landed behind the boss, it shrieked as it struggled to move. One lance pierced its cheek, the other missed, but it got stuck in the ground between its bones. I immediately used Ignite Target, and threw as many fireballs as I could. It broke free a second later, but I was able to grab a good chunk of its HP. I think.
The boss ran, I chased and neared the distance quickly, I summoned two more lances. I was nearing the boss when it suddenly stopped, did a 180 turn and chopped my left hand off.
I screamed in pain for seconds that seemed like millenia. I screamed, then Gamer's Body took effect, stopping the agony. I am in shock, frozen. My body hits the hard ground, the boss must've striked me a few more times, I was too distracted to notice. I feel the numerous emotions running through my body.
But I know one thing, I'm not letting this little shit kill me.
I got up, my teeth clenched, I summoned one lance, then cast Ignite Target on the lance as many times as my magic reserves allowed me. The lance became white from the intensity of the flames, it looked more like a lightning bolt Zeus would use.
As I gripped it tightly, the boss eyed my weapon with caution, if that's possible for a skeleton, then started running around me with a speed unmatched by any living animal. I wanted to keep my eyes on it, but spinning myself was a terrible idea, so my vision of the boss was restricted. I outstretched my arms, and roared as I shot countless fireballs in random directions. None hit, I knew because the blur didn't stop or slow down. Suddenly it appeared right in front of me, with its jaw open. I managed to barely evade decapitation by ducking under it. I was under the boss, I used this opportunity to spear its head. The skull cracked in half and fell from the body, the lance disintegrated in a fiery explosion.
Finally! That boss was hard, how the fuck was I able to dodge it? Huh, my hand is healed already, I guess I gotta thank gamer's body. Wait... the bones didn't fall apart? Second phase? Oh fuck, I've got to be ready!
I retreated to the furthest point from the unmoving skeleton, I had lances ready to strike. It moved, and it started running, this time at a managable pace. I tensed, watching its movements closely. As I was about to start attacking it, it ran into a wall, half its body penetrated it so there was basically a skeletal rear sticking out.
I froze, then started laughing, it has no head, it can't see. Not like it could with it, as it was without eyes, but whatever. The scene was comic.
I came up to the hippo, before spearing it until the rest of the health was gone. Well that was fun, except the pain part of course.
A chest appeared in the middle of the battlefield, loot! I walked up to it, it was a fairly large container, about a meter wide and half as high
I opened it, inside there was...
Nothing? Is this a glitch or something?
Just as I thought that, the popups appeared.

I'm a min-max damage dealer mage build, I should put 10 into INT and WIS, but I don't want to be one-hit kill by enemies like that boss. I dealt a lot of damage, but it almost killed me a few times, I guess I'm not going to be a complete glass cannon.
And how the fuck was I able to dodge it if it had, one second, what's my DEX?
DEX - 12
Yeah, it had more than twice my dexterity, how?
You have the Acrobatics subclass, your backstory mentioned that you are a good acrobat.
Oh, thanks game. By the way, what are these subclasses?
Subclasses are hidden, they are classes not mentioned in the six main classes, [Elementalist], [Illusionist], [Druid], [Necromancer], [Summoner] and [Enchanter]. Other subclasses include dishwashing, walking, even masturbating. You have a few hundered of them - they are not worth showing, however if you really want to use an EXP Crystal on one of them, name it and it'll probably be there.
Thanks again.
Back to the topic, I think I'll be better off being fast than strong, this class could benefit me a lot, fire works more with speed rather than endurance, plus the knuckles have the potential to be a very good defense, my punches are weak, but if something strikes the knuckles all force will be absorbed, and I need speed and precision to operate them correctly, which are closely related to DEX. Well then, I want 5 points to WIS, 7 points to INT, 6 points to DEX and the last two points to END. Even if I'm faster, I still might get hit sometimes.
"Status"
Voruo
Level - 5
Class - Pyromancer - LVL 3 [14%]
Race - High Elf
Rank - Mortal
Allignment - Chaotic Evil
HP - 130 [26 per minute]
MP - 3900 [576 per minute]
SP - 130 [26 per minute]
STR - 7
END - 13
DEX - 18
INT - 65 (+10X4 (LVLUP X4))
WIS - 36 (+5X4 (LVLUP X4))
CHA - 17
LUK - 286
MP Regen = WIS X 16
MP = INT X 60 (30 X 2 - Greater Magic Pool)
SP/Health Regen = END X 2
SP/HP = END X 10
Looks like STR will be my dump stat, I guess it's not that important for a mage.
And how did my hand regenerate so fast if my HP regen rate is not even one fifth per minute?
Is a hand 1/5 of your body?
Yeah, I guess that works. Now how do I get out of this place? There doesn't seem to be any door other than the one I came through.
Say "ID Escape"
"ID Escape"
Everything circled around me, and suddenly I was where I entered the dungeon, the empty inside of my new home. I walked outside, deciding to scout the surrounding area, get a better grasp at where's what.
The forest looked like one that you would find in Scandinavia, the howling of wind could be heard, but most of it dispersed in the trees. I wandered around the outskirts of the village, there doesn't seem to be nothing abnormal, except maybe the unusually sharp change from deep forest to the hill on which the village was situated, but that was probably the result of chopping wood for houses. So the village is new, it's possible that Earl witnessed as it grew around him. The settlement is located a few dozen meters away from the sea, the same cliff and beach I was walking on, it seems. There were wooden stairs that lead down, they seemed more like a ladder though. I guess it makes it easier to bring it up when tide comes.
I wonder how far from here did I crash? It could be a short walk from here, and it could be a day's worth of running, I guess I'll never know. I gazed at the ocean, this is One Piece. It's still hard to comprehend that I am in a fictional world, on the same planet as all the characters I remembered from the anime.
I came back to the forest as it was starting to get dark, how long have I been in the ID? Maybe I woke up late? Does time move differently in ID?
As I was nearing my house, I heard something inside, was someone in there? I came up to my door, then carefully opened it, ready to conjure a Spear. I heard quiet squeaking, a rat ran out of the door. Ah, so I was being paranoid- however this could've been a real break in, if I got to choose another class, I'd get runecrafter if such thing exists in this Game.
Yes, that would be Linguakinesis, it counts under Enchanter magic- control over words, it's like the programming language of the real world.
Thanks for help Game, what would I do without you?
Probably die.
Programming language of the real world, hmm? When I max out Pyromancer I'm gonna go for runecrafting, it seems incredibly useful judging by what game told me.
Should I go do another ID today? No. I'm tired after the first one, and my defeat of the boss could be just luck, acrobatics isn't that great when your opponent is twice as fast.Maybe tomorrow, I'll see.
I found a relatively clean spot on the floor, before laying on there. It was nearly as uncomfortable as the boat, but there was no saltwater splashing on my face, no sun and no movement, so I guess it's a little better.
I wasn't exactly tired, but is there anything worth doing right now? Yeah, I should get some sleep. The coming weeks are going to be hard training.
Slowly, but surely it came, to my thoughts, I fell asleep.
A/N: This is not going to change into a Thorgal AU, nor a Skyrim AU crossover, if you have any concerns about where I put Voruo. (it's also not a regular AU)
Don't worry about the protagonist killing quest being too OP, it's not like he's gonna kill protags on a daily basis- more like 1 per 30 chapters (+ it's not like I'm gonna grant him everything in there for his first one killed).
And if you still think he's becoming too OP, I can just use the dragon ball philosophy thingy- the stronger you get, the stronger your opponents become. (If Goku from DBS appeared in the start of DBZ, he would be ridiclously overpowered, and yet in DBS doesn't feel like he is.)
