Volume I: Responsibility

Note: This is the second chapter of Volume I. This will explore the tragedy that will change his life, as well as the lesson he'll learn from his uncle.

"It's been two days since Tony Stark is still currently missing, the local governments of the region are aiding in the search has but so far no luck... In other news, world famous surgeon Dr. Stephen Strange is currently in a hospital after suffering an accident from last night. Our sources have confirmed that he's still alive, though the damage done to his extremities seems to be permanent. What's in store for Dr. Strange now that his hands won't be able to save lives, only time will tell."

Today is August 12, it's been two days since Peter got his powers. He and Ben are watching the news as they heard about misfortune of Tony Stark and Stephen Strange.

"First Tony Stark is missing and now a great doctor has lost his gift to save lives. What's the world coming too?" Ben said.

"I know, can't believe that all this calamity is happening to good people." Peter said.

"I know, if only this world was full of people willingly to do the right thing." Ben said.

The doorbell rang as someone is at the door.

"I'll get it." Peter stands up.

Peter opened the door and sees Mary Jane Watson.

"MJ?" Peter said.

"Hi Peter. I was wondering if you want to come with me to see Gwen?" Mary Jane wonder.

"Yeah." Peter turns to Ben. "Ben! I'm leaving with MJ to see Gwen!"

"Alright, take care!" Ben replied.

Peter walked out of the house and walks with Mary Jane to Gwen's house which is a few blocks from their home.

"How are you doing?" Mary Jane asked.

"I'm doing okay. Listen, I'm sorry about yesterday." Peter said.

"It's okay, I could tell that you're going through something." Mary Jane said.

"How is Flash? His eye and his hand?" Peter wondered.

"Oh, don't worry, nothing permanent. He's still a little pissed but he'll be fine." Mary Jane said.

"That's good." Peter said.

"Yeah... listen Peter, I don't know what's going on with you. But just know that I'm here for you, if you wanted to talk and get something off your chest." Mary Jane said.

"Thanks MJ. But seriously I'm fine." Peter said.

"You know that fine stand for feeling insecure, neurotic and emotional." Mary Jane quoted Peter's words.

"Did you just use my own words?" Peter smiled.

"Wanted to make you feel better." Mary Jane smiled.

"Of course, it's you." Peter smiled.

Peter and Mary Jane arrived at the house of Gwen Stacy. They rang the doorbell as Gwen opened it. Gwen sees Peter Parker and noticed that he's different as he's not wearing his glasses like usual, not to mention that he's good looking.

"Peter?" Gwen said.

"Yeah, it's me." Peter said.

"Wow! Didn't recognize you, you look... great." Gwen smiled.

"Thanks." Peter said.

"Come in." Gwen invited them inside.

Peter and Mary Jane enters the house that Gwen lives. They sees a picture of Gwen as a baby with her parents, George and Helen Stacy. They see Gwen's dad George Stacy walking out.

"Sorry Gwennie, work called me and I have to get going." George Stacy said.

"It's okay dad. Go out and be a hero." Gwen smiled.

"Thanks Gwen, you kids have fun." George Stacy said.

"We will." Mary Jane smiled.

George Stacy walked out of the house to attend his job. He's a Captain of the New York Police Department, he's also a widow since his wife died years ago.

"So now what?" Gwen wonder.

"Pizza and a movie." Mary Jane suggested.

(An hour later)

Peter, Gwen, and Mary Jane are eating pizza watching on the 4K tv of a movie starring Shang-Chi, a martial artist and actor, he stars alongside actor Simon Williams, both playing as cops in the movie. They watched as Shang-Chi is fighting off the bad guys without any weapons as Simon Williams is shooting with his gun.

"Gotta say, Shang-Chi to this day will alway be my favorite action star." Mary Jane stated.

"Not surprising, you always loved martial art films, especially the ones that Shang-Chi stars." Peter said.

"That guy is a master in about two dozen styles, not to mention that he runs a school while he's not busy acting." Mary Jane said.

The movie cut to commercials, one of them is about wrestling.

"On August 14, come to the arena and watch the most badass wrestling match where anyone can participate and face off against the undefeated champion, Crusher Hogan. If you can manage to survive for a least three minutes in the ring, then the winner will go home with 3000 dollars in cash, if you're up the challenge!"

"Wrestling? Everyone knows that wrestling is fake. Who in the right mind would go?" Mary Jane said.

Peter then gets an idea about the match.

"Hmm? This might be a great opportunity to use my new gifts to make easy money. Though I might need to make something to conceal my identity. I'd doubt that they'll allow a minor like me to participate in a match against a wrestling champ." Peter said in his thoughts.

Peter got up as he wants to head home.

"I should get going." Peter said.

"You're leaving already?" Gwen said.

"Yeah, I forgot that I'm still working on those photos that I took of the expo." Peter makes a excuse.

"Can't you do that later?" Mary Jane said.

"Ah, no. Sorry to leave so early. Enjoy the rest of the movie." Peter excused himself.

Mary Jane and Gwen watched as Peter left the house for some strange reason.

"What was that all about?" Mary Jane wondered.

Peter made it back home as he's in his room working on a new costume for the match he wants to participate. He looked through the closet to find something that can be used for the new costume.

He picked up a red sweatshirt as it can be useful.

"This will work, though I might need to draw a symbol or something, something that matches me." Peter said.

He thought about the spider that gave him his powers.

"A spider might be a better symbol, in fact it's perfect." Peter smiled.

Sometime later, Peter began to make a symbol of a spider on his sweatshirt. He holds it up in the air and takes a good look at it.

"Perfect." Peter said.

Peter then logged onto the computer and checks out the match that starts in two days, he sees looks over the rules.

"So they allow certain wrestlers to have certain tools, like a chair or a crowbar. I might need to bring a tool or two of my own." Peter said.

Peter then got an idea as he picked up his camera and remembered a picture he took from the expo. He scrolls down the memory and found the picture of the formula for the webbing.

"Bingo." Peter said.

He went to his closet and grabbed a box of his chemistry set, he looked through the box and found the ingredients needed to create webbing.

He took the necessary ingredients and mixed them together to create synthetic webbing. He pulls out the stir stick and sees webs being pulled out.

"You are a genius." Peter smiled.

He succeeded in reverse engineering synthetic webbing, but right now he needs a way of shooting as the webbing become sticky once it's exposed to open air.

He invents a new device that would allow him to store and fire webbing when needed. He loaded a batch into the small cartridges. He works on a firing mechanism, he created one that required two fingers pressed simultaneously to fire.

He strapped on his new invention, he calls them webshooters. He has his computer camera record a test of his new webshooters.

"Okay, these are webshooters MK1 ready for testing." Peter said.

He sees a couple of empty soda cans laying before his eyes for test.

"Let's pray that this works." Peter hopes.

Peter press down his two fingers simultaneously as it triggered the webshooters to fire off webbing at the cans.

Peter laughed. "This is so cool."

He fires off another shot of webbing at the other can, he hit his target.

"I love these." Peter shows off his webshooters.

At Flash's house which is in the same neighborhood as Peter's , Mary Jane's, and Gwen's house. Flash kept looking in the mirror as he sees the black eye he got from the ball that was tossed by Peter. The bedroom door knocked.

"It's open!" Flash said.

The door opened as Liz Allan came in to check on Flash.

"Hi Flash, I wanted to check up on you." Liz wonder.

"I'm fine, though this black eye that Parker gave me isn't going away anytime soon." Flash looking mad.

"Flash, you got to let that go. It was an accident." Liz stated.

"An accident? Look at me Liz! I've never felt so humiliated in front of everyone! Because of Puny Parker!" Flash said angry.

"If I remembered correctly Flash, you started all this when you tossed that ball at Peter, you wanted to hurt him, didn't you?" Liz not looking happy.

"What did you expect I feel? He was trying to flirt with you, and you let him!" Flash said.

"Flash, he was just helping me out since you were too busy playing with the guy not to give a hand." Liz replied.

"So this is my fault?" Flash said.

"I'm not trying to blame you. I just wish that you weren't so full of yourself all the time. Because that's you do, you step on everyone not caring what they feel, including Peter." Liz stated.

"Oh... now I see. You feel something for Parker, don't you?" Flash smile.

"That's not what it's about?" Liz said.

"Isn't it? I see the way you look at him. Admit it, you want to throw yourself at him like a sh-" Flash got slapped in face.

Liz Allan just slapped her boyfriend in the face for insulting her.

"You really need to grow up Flash! I don't get what I see in you." Liz teared up.

Liz walked out of the room as she's leaving his house, Flash followed after her.

"Liz! Wait!" Flash pleaded.

"Leave me alone!" Liz walked away.

Flash stopped as he watched Liz walking away, he couldn't help but feeling guilty as he hurt her feelings and insulted her. As angry as Flash is to Liz, he knew deep down that she's right. He's been a bully to everyone in his life, now he's feeling all alone thanks to his actions.

"I'm sorry Liz." Flash said to himself.

Peter stood over the rooftop in Queens as he wants to test his webshooters out in the open. He sees a crane nearby as he gets an idea on how to best use his webbing. He aims at the crane and fires off his webbing at it, it hit and created a line as he grips it. He stands at the edge looking down on the streets.

"Okay... time to take the first step... or swing." Peter said nervously.

He jumps off and swings across the street hanging onto the line. He swings successfully until he sees a building in his path, he decided to uses his other webshooters to fire off a line at another building. He turns and swings again, he fires off another line and swings it too.

"Whoa!!!" Peter yelled.

Peter smiled as he enjoyed the thrill of swinging across town. He's starting to get the hang of this.

The next morning, he got up as earlier than everyone else. He puts on his sweatpants and t shirt. He quietly moved out of the house as he's now outside.

He ran out into the streets as very little people are still asleep. He ran as fast as he can, he moved so fast that his speed surpassed any Olympic athlete.

He continues to run until he reach the park and sees that it's empty in the morning. He runs as he sees a tree and runs up and lands down on a three point stance.

"Let's see what else I can do." Peter said to himself.

He flips back as he did the back flip. He found out that he's more flexible than ever.

"I didn't know that I could do that." Peter smiled.

He does some more running as he sees some logs and trees in his path, he runs and jumps past them without any difficulty.

He stopped as he found a large boulder in the middle of the park. He wants to test out his new strength to see how much he can lift.

He grabbed it and began to lift it up. Unknown to him, a homeless man is camped nearby as he drinks his whiskey and sees a teenager lift a large boulder. He couldn't believe his eyes as the teen lifted it above his head, his eyes widened.

The man thought that it's the alcohol that's messing with his head. He pour it down to the ground.

The next day is August 14, the day the wrestling match will soon begin. Peter pulled out his new mask, a luchador's mask that he bought to hide his identity, it's red with white around the eyes. He dressed up in his new suit that he created for his match, he put a hoodie to hide it while walking out.

He walked out the backdoor until he sees Ben in the garage working on a vehicle, an old dune buggy.

"Still working on that?" Peter said.

"Yeah, whenever I have the time, helps me unwind from work. Want to help out?" Ben said.

"No thanks, maybe another time. I got someplace to be." Peter said.

"Alright, take care." Ben said.

"Sure." Peter walked until he stopped and turned around. "Ben, can I ask you something?"

Ben stopped working and looked at Peter.

"Anything?" Ben said.

"Say that you have a... special 'talent', can you use it to make some money?" Peter said.

"What exactly are we talking about?" Ben wondered.

"Like if you're gifted, should you use them for great things in life?" Peter asked.

"Peter... there are those who uses their power for personal wealth and glory, but I think that your gift should be used for the right reason, not for personal gain. Look at me, I used to work in military police, now I work in construction, it's all I know what to do, but I uses my power to support my family and on occasion help those who can't help themselves. As your grandfather told me and your dad, with great power comes great responsibility." Ben said.

"I see." Peter said.

"Listen Peter, you have a great heart, and your the smartest guy I ever known, you're meant for more in life than just fame and fortune. Stay true to yourself, use your gifts responsibly, not abuse it." Ben explained.

"I won't." Peter said.

"I believe in you Peter." Ben smiled.

"Thanks, for everything." Peter smiled.

Peter walked away as Ben continues to work on the dune buggy. Peter continues to walk down the sidewalk as to think about his uncle's words.

"He's right, I should uses these powers for the right reasons. Maybe I can use them to win that money, to help them out with bills and stuff. Besides, what could go wrong?" Peter said in his thoughts.

Peter continues to walk down the streets as he heads for his match against Crusher Hogan.

In the arena in Queens, the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation, or UCWF for short, is hosting the event, a wrestling match has already begun between Crusher Hogan and Bonesaw McGraw. Peter is looking down watching the two wrestle one another.

Peter walked down to the sign up while wearing his luchador mask.

"Name?"

"Call me... Hombre Arana." Peter uses an alias.

Note: 'Hombre Arana' is Spanish for Spider-Man.

"Hombre Arana? What kind of name is that?"

"It's the one I'm using. Are you gonna sign me in or not?" Peter said.

"Fine, it's your funeral. Hope that you're resilient than you look, or you're gonna be in a cast for months. Head down the hall and good luck... you're gonna need it."

Peter walked down the hall as he's soon to be next. He continues to watch the match between Crusher Hogan and Bonesaw McGraw. Bonesaw proved to be a formidable foe but he got picked up and slammed down hard by Crusher.

"Oh! Looks like Bonesaw got his bones sawed!"

The referee went to countdown and sees Bonesaw is hurt.

"One! Two! Three! Crusher is the winner!"

Everyone cheered as Crusher Hogan still remains undefeated, he roared out to the audiences. The medics came in and wheeled Bonesaw out as Peter sees the pain the poor guy is in.

"Now to the next challenge! We have someone new, he's mysterious, he has no name, give it up for... Hombre Arana!"

Hombre Arana came out to the stage, everyone booed at him, for a wrestler he's not that much muscular than any wrestler, not to mention his average height. Peter continues down to the stage, still wearing his mask to hide his face. Hombre Arana and Crusher came to the referee.

"Alright listen up, you only get three minutes in the ring. If any of you forfeits or gets defeated in three seconds, then you lose the match, are we clear?"

"Yeah!" Hombre Arana said.

"Perfectly." Crusher Hogan said.

"Good luck to you both."

"It's not too late to back out, little man." Crusher Hogan smiled.

"Less talking, more fighting." Hombre Arana said.

The bell rang as the match begins, Crusher came charging in as Hombre Arana jumped over him, he missed.

"What the..?" Crusher Hogan is confused.

"Too slow!" Hombre Arana jokes.

Crusher growled as he charged in again, but Hombre Arana jumped up and wrapped his legs around his neck, he flips him down hard.

"Whoa! This is totally unexpected! Can Crusher fare against this new fighter?"

Everyone in the arena stilled booed but others cheered for Hombre Arana. Among those in the audience, the same mysterious red head that watched Peter these past days is there, she's took a piece of popcorn from the bag and ate it.

Crusher is feeling humiliated as a newcomer is getting the best of him. He picked up a folded chair and tossed it at Hombre Arana. He flips back and kicked the chair up.

"You threw a chair at me!" Hombre Arana mocks.

"Ah! Shut up!" Crusher Hogan yells.

"Come at me then!" Hombre Arana dared him.

Crusher Hogan charges at him again until Hombre Arana flip back and tossed him hard at the ropes. Hombre Arana sees him standing up.

"Time to end this!" Hombre Arana said.

Hombre Arana charges in and does the drop kick, Crusher got kicked off the ring. Everyone is shocking find out that the champion has been knocked out the ring and is still on the ground.

"One! Two! Three! We have a new winners! Ladies and Gentlemen, give it up for Hombre Arana!"

Everyone cheered for the new wrestler, Peter let's all the fame go to his head as he cheered in victory.

Sometime later after the match, the fight promoter hands him a stack of 3000 dollars.

"Not bad, everyone loves you. Though I gotta ask, who are you really?"

"Sorry, can't say my name or remove my mask, luchador code and all." Hombre Arana said.

"No matter, you got talent, ever thought about competing again in the big leagues?"

"Really?" Hombre Arana said.

"Think about it, you could become a star."

"I'll give it some thought." Hombre Arana said.

Hombre Arana walks out of the office with fame in his mind. As he walked out of the hall, someone passed him by, a shady individual.

Back in the promoter's office as he's about to close the safe, a man barged in and tossed his bag at him.

"Hey, what the hell?"

The man pulled out a gun and aims it at the promoter.

"Shut up and put the money in the bag!" Dennis Carradine demanded.

Sometime later as Hombre Arana reached the elevator, he waits as it opens. He sees someone running down the hall being chased by a security guard.

"Hey you! Stop him!"

Hombre Arana stand aside as he let the man pass by and reached the elevator.

"Thanks!" Dennis Carradine said as the door close.

The security guard reached the elevator but he was too late, as the door is already closed and the man got away.

"What the hell is the matter with you? You let him go!"

"Sorry pal, not in my job description." Hombre Arana stated.

The guard walked away as Hombre Arana decided to take the stairs.

"Why should I stopped him? I'm not a cop, it's not my responsibility. Besides, what could go wrong?" Peter said in his thoughts.

It's nighttime at the Parker Residence in Forest Hills as Ben and May are getting worried for their nephew.

"It's 7 o'clock, he should be home by now. I'm getting worried." May said.

"Yeah, I'm worried too. He's been acting different lately. I thought maybe it's because he's feeling like a teenager not following rules. I can get that, it's normal. But I get the feeling this is something else." Ben said.

"Do you think that Peter is into something and he doesn't want to share with us?" May wonder.

"I hope not, but you and me raised him to do right. All we can do is trust him to make the right decisions." Ben said.

"You're right." May said.

The door broke down as a man intrudes their home.

"Damn it! Cops everywhere, I need a ride." Dennis Carradine is worked up.

He sees the homeowners here.

"Who owns that car outside?" Dennis Carradine said.

"Who do you think you are?" Ben demanded.

Dennis pulled out his gun and aimed it at them.

"Someone who is being hunted. I'll ask again, who owns that car?" Dennis Carradine demanded.

"It's mine, take it easy." Ben said.

"Hand over the keys right now!" Dennis Carradine yelled.

"Okay... take it easy." Ben pulled out his keys.

Ben holds up the keys as he slowly gives it to the man. May slowly pulls out her phone and tries to hit emergency button but the man sees her reaching.

"Don't you dare!" Dennis Carradine yelled.

Ben moved in and grabbed the gun, he and the robber are struggling as Ben tries to disarm him. A shot went off as they both stopped. Ben fell down to the ground with a gunshot on him.

"No! Ben!" May yelled.

The robber grabbed the keys and exits the house. May went up to see Ben bleeding. She grabbed her phone and dialed 911. The car outside has its engine started, it drove off.

"911 emergency?"

"Help! My husband has been shot! A man broke in and took the keys to our car. He shot my husband, he's bleed in and needs an ambulance right now!" May panicked.

"We're on our way."

"Ben, stay with me! You're gonna be okay!" May said.

"May, this is it." Ben is dying.

"Don't say that! Just hang on a little longer." May pleaded.

"I love you and Peter. Tell him that, okay." Ben smiled.

"I will, I promise. I love you too." May cried.

Ben smiled as he closes his eyes and passed away in May's arms.

"Ben? Ben!" May cried out.

May couldn't believe it, her husband just died. Anna and Mary Jane came as soon as they heard the gunshot from her house. They sees May with Ben's body, he just died.

"Oh my god!" Anna is shocked.

Mary Jane couldn't believe that Peter's uncle just died.

"May, what happened?" Anna asked.

"He took him! He took Ben!" May cried.

Anna hugged May to comfort her.

At the 13th precinct in the city, Captain George Stacy is in charge of the anti-crime unit. An officer came into Stacy's office.

"Captain Stacy!"

"What is it officer?" George Stacy said.

"There was a robbery homicide that happened in Forest Hills."

"Gwen, is she alright?" George Stacy said.

"Don't worry, your daughter is fine. We sent a car to your house."

"Good. But what happened, who is the victim?" George Stacy said.

"Ben Parker."

George is shocked to hear that Ben Parker is the murder victim. He meet him through Gwen's friendship with Peter. He can't believe that a good man like Ben Parker is murdered. He got up and grabbed his gun, he heads out of the office.

Peter is walking down the streets of Forest Hills, having the prize money in his hands.

"Now that I have 3000 dollars, what I'm I gonna do with it? I hate that I had to go behind Ben and May's back about wrestling. Maybe I should tell them about what's happened to me. They at least deserve to know." Peter said.

Peter walked to his house until he sees sirens.

"What's going on here?" Peter is getting worried.

He got in closer and sees squad cars and an ambulance in front of his house.

"That's my house." Peter said.

Peter run up to his house until the officer stopped him from entering.

"Hey, you need to stay back."

"Let me through!" Peter protest.

George's car pulled up front and Captain Stacy got out and sees Peter trying to get in.

"It's alright, let him through!" George Stacy ordered.

Peter and George enters the houses as he see May with Anna Watson, she looks so sad.

"May!" Peter said.

"Peter!" May cried.

Peter and May hugged each other.

"Aunt May, what happened? Where's Uncle Ben?" Peter said.

May looked down at the covers where the body is. Peter sees it too as he got in closer.

"Hey! You can't..."

Peter pulled the cover and sees his Uncle Ben, dead in front of his eyes. Peter became shocked to find out that his uncle had died.

"Uncle Ben! No!" Peter cried out loud.

Peter broke down and cried as May came to him and hugged him.

"Why?" Peter cried.

"A man... he broke in... your uncle tried to stop him... he... got shot... that man took him from us." May cried.

Peter couldn't believe what he's hearing, a man murdered his uncle, a good man who did nothing wrong.

"Peter, May, we're gonna find him, I promise, justice will be served." George Stacy said.

"Captain, a word."

"Excuse me." George Stacy said.

Peter sees Captain Stacy talking with one of the officers.

"What is it officer?" George Stacy asked.

"The car matching the description was spotted at an abandoned building near the bridge."

"Get units to that location and have it lockdown." George Stacy said.

"Yes sir."

George Stacy turns to Peter and May.

"I have to go." George Stacy said.

"Find him. Ben didn't deserve to die." May said.

"I will." George Stacy said.

George leaves the house as Peter went upstairs to his room.

Peter closes the door as he feels nothing but rage. Someone just killed a good man who was like a father to Peter. He wants to avenge Ben by finding the killer. He took off his hoodie and puts on his mask.

(At Watson Residence)

Mary Jane is in her room, she's sad for the loss of Ben Parker. She's worried for Peter since he and Ben were so close. She can understand loss too since her mother died.

She looked out the window and sees someone jumping off Peter's bedroom window wearing a red luchador mask. He's running out of the yard and jumped over the fence. She wonders who this guy could be, since he came from Peter's bedroom.

"Peter... could it be?" Mary Jane wondered.

Meanwhile as the police have barricaded the building that the robber was chased to. Captain Stacy arrive at the scene.

"Is he still in there?" George Stacy said.

"Yeah, but as soon as we try approaching, he starting shooting. But right now, he's cornered, he's not going anywhere."

"Alright, get the riot shields and tasers armed and ready. We're going in." George Stacy ordered.

As the police are preparing to enter, someone in red swings to the rooftop. Peter arrived and found a rooftop access, he enters inside.

(Inside the building)

The robber has his gun ready to shot as he trapped inside the building, figuring out a way to escape.

He then heard noises nearby, he got so nervous.

"Who's there?!" Dennis Carradine demanded.

He see a shadow of a figure and fires off rounds, but so far no luck. He started to freak out as someone is here in the room, he looked around and sees nothing.

He took a few steps backwards until he got a sense that someone is behind him. He turns around and aims his gun, but someone caught his wrist, he started firing off bullets. Peter then twisted his wrist, breaking it and letting go of the gun.

"Ahh!!!" Dennis Carradine yelled in pain.

Peter still his hand on the man's wrist as he executes a push kick. The man got kicked on a crate and broke it. He got injured hard as he tries to move away while in pain.

"Please have mercy!" Dennis Carradine pleaded.

"Did you show mercy to the man you shot? Who's life you've taken?" Peter said in anger.

"That was an accident." Dennis Carradine pleaded.

Peter grabbed his neck and pinned him against the wall, he was choking him.

"Answer me! Why?!" Peter demanded.

Peter pulled the ski mask of the man and saw his face. Peter became shocked to find out that he's the same man from before.

(Flashback to Earlier)

Peter sees a man running with a bag full of money. He let him pass and reached the elevator.

"Thanks." Dennis Carradine said.

(Present)

Peter couldn't believe it, he's the same man who robbed from the arena, the one he let go, one who he could've stopped. He realized that Ben is dead because he chose to let this man go, what happened to Ben is his fault.

"Why? Why did you have to kill him? He was innocent!" Peter yelled.

"It wasn't... supposed to... happen... it was an... accident." Dennis Carradine is choked.

Peter has his hand on his neck holding him as he has his fist ready. He wanted to avenge his uncle and was about to take it.

"With great power comes great responsibility." Ben's words.

Peter couldn't bring himself to take a life, Ben wouldn't wanted to be remembered that way. Peter let him go and spared his life.

"He wouldn't want this. That's why you get to live." Peter said.

Peter then heard noises coming in as he runs out of the building. George Stacy and the police came in and found Dennis Carradine with his wrist broken and bruises on him.

"It's him, take him." George Stacy ordered.

The cops helped Carradine up as George reads his rights.

"Dennis Carradine, you're under arrest for armed robbery, grand theft auto, and murder. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one, one will be provided to you." George Stacy quote the Miranda Rights.

Peter is outside over looking from the rooftop as Dennis Carradine is being taken into police custody. Justice has been served, though it doesn't change the fact that Ben is dead. He knows that deep down that what happened to Ben is his fault too. He blames himself for doing nothing to stop it. His uncle taught about responsibility and he didn't take that lesson to heart.

Back in the Parker residence, May is with Anna Watson as she still processing Ben's death. The doorbell rang as they're in the kitchen.

"I'll get it." Anna stands up.

Anna walked up to the door as she opened it and sees George Stacy with his daughter Gwen.

"Is May still awake?" George Stacy said.

"She's in the kitchen, come in." Anna said.

George and Gwen sees May still in the kitchen.

"George, Gwen." May said.

"I'm here to tell you that we got him. He's going away for a long time." George Stacy said.

"Thank you." May said.

"Where's Peter?" Gwen said.

"He's upstairs, Mary Jane is with him." May said.

"I'm gonna see him." Gwen said.

"Of course, he's gonna need you more than ever." George Stacy said.

Gwen left the kitchen and walked upstairs. She opened the door and sees Mary Jane with Peter.

"Peter." Gwen said.

Peter looked up and sees Gwen here.

"Gwen." Peter teared.

"I'm so sorry this happened to you." Gwen said.

Peter got up and walked towards Gwen. She hugged him as he cried out some more.

"Let it out." Gwen teared up.

Mary Jane got up and hugged him too, she began to tear up too. Peter cried out some more as the man who was like a father to him is taken from this world. Gwen and Mary Jane both understands loss, Gwen lost her mother at a very early age, Mary Jane's mother died from cancer. Seeing Peter experiencing loss of a loved one brought out old wounds they still carry to this day.
