Chapter 2:

After roughly 5 minutes of riding on the boat, I then arrived at the plains before I then realized something shocking... I didn't have the proper equipment to hunt for fossils!

"ACK! I don't have a radar OR a pick axe! How am I supposed to hunt for fossils without those?!" I asked in shock as the captain then smirked at me.

"Because I'm supposed to supply them to the newbies. Here, take these," the captain of the ship smiled and I then sighed in relief.

"Whew... thanks, mister. I thought I was doomed," I said as he handed me the radar as well as the pick and I then saw that the radar was actually a fully-upgraded version as opposed to the lesser versions that I would've gotten beforehand. And that made me smile widely.

"And take this, too. This will allow you to store a lot of fossil rocks at the same time, so it'll help you out when you try to search for them. Find as many as you can and then get them back to the fossil center to clean them up and revive them," he said as he gave me a backpack that held a bunch of side pockets as well as a main part inside to put fossil rocks inside of. I then gave him a thumbs-up before then going out into the plains to find some fossil rocks... and of course, whenever I picked them up with my bare hands, the bones stayed intact while the rest of the dirt was eliminated. It even did the same thing with the jewel rocks! I managed to get 3 diamonds, as well as 2 rubies!

"Huh... I'm rich now, I guess," I giggled as I then got a couple more fossils and saw that each of them were of the different dinosaurs you could find in the plains, those being Spinax, Shanshan, V-Raptor, and Goyle. But I also managed to find the head of Tarbo, but that was just out of pure luck. I then got to the bad guy in disguise that would progress the story, him blocking the way to the garbage-filled site behind him.

"Excuse me, what are you doing?" I asked him.

"This area behind me is filled to the brim with rare fossils. I've been hired to make sure that the traffic is controlled. You'll need to give me your Dino Medals before you can go in there, though," he said, me deciding to do something different. Mainly because I hated this guy, Medal Dealer Joe.

"Oh really? And who was the one who told you to take dino medals in order to allow people to go in here?" I asked, that actually making the guy look a bit tongue-tied.

"Uh... um..." he said in confusion before I then simply smirked.

"I may be a newbie to this stuff, but even I know that these Dino Medals are to belong to their original owners and are not allowed to be taken by others. So I suggest you turn yourself in before I beat you to a pulp for your crimes," I said, him then gulping at me as I noticed a face from behind him.

"WAIT A MINUTE!" the pink-haired girl asked in shock, me seeing that Rosie was actually around my age, probably 18, which I didn't expect. But she looked very mad. "You took my Dino Medals in exchange for literal GARBAGE?! Do you know who I am?!" Rosie asked in anger as the guy then simply smirked and lifted his guise, me frowning at him angrily.

"You two know way too much," he said in a sinister manner as he then did something I gawked at. He grabbed Rosie by the arms and actually held her hostage!

"HEY! Let me go! I'm the granddaughter of Richmond Industries!" Rosie shouted... and then I gasped at what happened next. He took his hand and smacked Rosie in the head, her falling unconscious afterwards! And that made me... furious! I growled angrily as I felt some kind of strange power happen inside of me... I had no clue what was going on, but I felt one thing. Protect Rosie. I then rushed Joe and slammed my fist into his groin, him gasping and dropping Rosie in the process before then whimpering when he saw me.

"W-What the fuck?! W-WHAT ARE YOU?!" he asked, me frowning angrily at him as I then grabbed him by the shirt collar... but then I gawked at what I saw... I no longer had 5 fingers! And not only that, but I had... pointed talons? And they were green?! I then gasped as I looked at myself all over and saw I had a stretchy neck... and my body was red?! AND I HAD A TAIL!

"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!" I asked in shock before then seeing that Joe was trying to escape, me growling and slamming my hand into his left leg, him shouting in agony as I saw that I had managed to break his bones... and it was then that I had realized something...

"Wait a friggin' minute! I'm a Zino and I can see perfectly?!..." I asked... but then I remembered. My glasses were on my face! I then sighed as I then tried to calm down, me eventually sighing as I then looked at my hands and was relieved to see that calming down caused me to return to normal... I then simply grabbed Joe and slammed my foot on his head, me spitting on him only after I'd conked him out. "Serves you right, asshole," I frowned as I then got his bag of stolen medals off of him and I then looked at Rosie and saw she had a cell phone on her. And one of the contacts was for 'grandpa'.

"I might as well... she's conked out and I can't get both of 'em back without help," I said as I then simply sat on Joe's stomach so he couldn't move if he woke up. I then called Mr. Richmond on Rosie's phone and eventually got an answer.

"Hello there, Rosie! How's things going as of right now?" the guy on the other end asked.

"Um... hi. I kind of had to rescue this 'Rosie' girl in Greenhorn Plains," I said, him then gasping on the other end.

"WHAT?! What happened?!" he asked as I then spoke.

"A thief disguised himself as a staff member of the Vivosaur scientists and tried to scam her and me out of our Dino Medals in exchange for access to a place with garbage. He claimed it had great fossils, but it's filled with junk... anyways, when I bluffed him out, he then grabbed onto this pink-haired girl and knocked her out cold. I then attacked the thief and knocked him out while breaking his leg... I'm going to need some assistance to get Rosie looked at... as well as find out how many other people he scammed with stealing Dino Medals so we can return them to their rightful owners," I said, Mister Richmond speaking afterwards.

"I thank you for saving my daughter, miss... I'm going to call for the police to go to Greenhorn Plains to apprehend the criminal. I'm coming too, since I want to meet the heroine in person. What's your name?" he asked me.

"Zina Zori. I'll keep the bad guy pinned in case he tries to escape when he wakes up," I said. "See ya soon," I smirked as we then said goodbyes and then I hung up the phone. I had a bit to wait, but I needed to help Rosie out. I then simply checked her pulse and smiled at how it was still good. I simply had to watch over her while keeping Joe pinned.

"So... what have you found out from your spying, Duna?" asked a very noble-sounding voice.

"The planet isn't filled with Dinaurians... it's filled with something called a human. They're mammalian, not reptilian!" said the voice of a female, who was a bit annoyed at what she'd seen. But she still had to mention one thing that she happened to see. "I did, however, find one strange thing... a single human that piqued my interest." The noble-sounding individual was angered at the fact that there were no Dinaurians on this planet despite their efforts to colonize it all those years ago... but he did find a bit of intrigue in the last statement.

"And what is this human?" he asked.

"She said her name was Zina Zori and she looks very odd... almost like a complete nerd, glasses included. But when she got angered at a bad human, something happened. Out of nowhere, she turned into a Therizinosaurus and attacked him with pinpoint accuracy! And after breaking his leg, she then calmed herself back down, returning her to normal before she then attacked the bad human," Duna said, her boss seeming to be intrigued.

"Hmm... so there is a trait in her that is unlike all other humans, hmm? Traits of Dinaurian appear to be in her blood..." he smirked before Duna spoke.

"Yeah... about that... she seemed to be extremely shocked at her appearance as well as how she was so accurate with the blows. After all, the Therizinosaurus had very poor eyesight and relied on smell to find their prey. I believe it was her very first transformation and that her glasses helped her accuracy... so what is the plan, King Dynal?" Duna asked after relaying the information. The king then hummed as he then looked out at the large planet that they were looking at in orbit.

"It is obvious that we may need some assistance in order to find the Sub-Idolcomps required to assimilate the humans... we're going to need to befriend a group of humans to find them. And I'd like it if you could try to find out if this Zina person can assist us. Befriend her, but keep your mind focused on the greater task," Dynal said as Duna simply nodded and bowed.

"As you wish, your highness," Duna said as she then looked at the radar of the island that held the Sub-Idolcomps and she saw a strange band of thieves wearing purple and that had a whole slew of minions amongst them. "I have an idea on who the main assistance will be. These BB Bandits are a tightly-knit group that steals things for a living. How should I proceed to getting them on our side?" Duna asked as Dynal smirked.

"Tell them the whole story... tell them about how we want to have the world for our own... but tell them that, if they assist us, we will allow them to live. And I will keep my word on that," Dynal said as Duna smiled. Allowing a select few to live on wasn't that bad of an idea.

"And what of Zina Zori?" Duna asked.

"Be more cautious with her... she obviously doesn't seem like one to be on board with bad things happening to innocents. So simply tell her that you can help her find out more on how to use her powers, but don't tell her about you being one of us. She could be either our most powerful ally, or our greatest enemy. You'll need to trick her," Dynal said as Duna simply nodded.

"Understood... I'm going to go down there in my human disguise, now. I will do nothing but the best," Duna said as she then turned into her human disguise before then warping herself back to the island. Her first order of business? Get the BB Bandits on her side. Then she would focus on getting the half-Dinaurian on her side.

I ended up waiting for 10 minutes before the cops showed up, me being relieved internally at how Bullwort wasn't among them, since he was their boss. And I also saw that Mister Richmond arrived a minute after the cops and it was only then that Rosie finally woke up, me keeping the Dino Medals Joe stole so I could show them to her. I had a feeling she should be the first to find her medals.

"Ugh... what happened?" Rosie asked as Mister Richmond then went over and was about to hug her, but Rosie held her hand out with her other on her head. "H-Hey, grandpa... um... I feel very dizzy right now... I'll hug you later..." Rosie said as I then simply held out a bag for her to look through, Rosie being confused as I then had to explain it for her.

"That bad guy is going to jail for stealing Dino Medals from a bunch of other Fossil Fighters, not just you. But I felt that you should find yours first, since you're the closest one," I said, Rosie then looking at me with a smile.

"Thanks, Zina," she said, me being confused at that before she smiled. "And before you ask... I know your name because, when I was unconscious, I could hear everything happen. I'm glad that you beat him to a pulp... and now, I'll get my medals back," Rosie said as she then searched through the bag (it had at least 100 total Dino Medals) before she finally found all 10 of her own medals, me smiling at how hers were all from the different teams she had from game 3 as well as Shanshan and Goyle, since she couldn't have 2 Siamo's yet.

"Thanks for helping out my granddaughter, miss Zina. I'm forever in your debt," Mister Richmond said before he then left and Rosie was about to go with him before she then looked at me.

"Um... before I go, I wanted to ask you something, miss Zina," Rosie said as she then looked at me with a small smile. "I kinda was able to see you turn into that thing before I finally conked out..." she said, me gasping at that. How?! "But don't worry, I promise to keep it a secret, since you saved me and my Vivosaurs... and I'd like it if you could travel back to the town with me. I want to learn a bit about you," she said, me sighing in relief as well as getting a smile on my face at her. I might be able to learn more about her as well. Especially since, even though she had a bit of an attitude at first, she was still one of my favorites in this game.

"I accept. But only if we can be friends," I said, Rosie smirking at me.

"More than friends. Best friends," Rosie smirked as she then held onto my hand. I guess I would be friend-zoned in this world at first by Rosie, but I did want to get her as a girlfriend at some point. We then walked back to the docks and got a different boat than Mister Richmond. It would be our first time alone to each other. I wanted it to be as productive as possible, learning about each other as much as we could.

When we got on the boat, she was the one to ask the first question.

"So... how long have you been able to do that?" Rosie asked as I simply sighed.

"Had a feeling that'd be the first question... and to answer it, I only found out right then and there. I didn't even realize it until after I got him in the nuts... now my turn for a question. Forgive me for asking, but are you 19 or 18?" I asked, her smiling.

"I'm actually 18, but I think I was cursed with small syndrome. I still look like I did when I was 13... so if you don't know when it happened, then how did it happen?" Rosie asked, me shrugging at her question.

"I dunno... well, Tipper can vouch for me, but I'm not really from this world. I suddenly warped to this one out of nowhere and fell into the fountain from the sky. Ask Tipper and she'll say the same thing," I said, Rosie smirking at that.

"I actually saw you fall myself, but I only got the glimpse of you falling into the fountain. I didn't see you fall from that high up," Rosie smirked.

"Anyways... so how are you when it comes to relationships? What are you attracted to?" I asked, her smiling at me.

"Getting a bit personal with these questions, huh? Well, if you must know, I'm open to anyone so long as they're nice to me. Male, female, I don't care, just so long as they're nice... so... why do you ask?" Rosie asked as I simply blushed a bit.

"Well... I kinda think you're pretty and cute... and I wanted to know if you'd be open," I said, her smiling at me.

"Well, how about this? If you can beat the next level-up fight and become a Rank 2 fighter, we can be girlfriends," Rosie said with a giggle. And it was then that we finally got back to the main hub and I then looked at Rosie with a smile.

"Want to see something cool? Like, really cool?" I asked, Rosie smirking at that.

"Cooler than you beating up that thief?" she asked as I nodded.

"I'll show you in the Fossil Center," I said, us then going over there and going to KL-33N, where I then smiled at him.

"Beepeep! Hello there, Zina! How can I assist you? Bszt!" he asked as I simply gave him all of the fossils that I'd retrieved from the Greenhorn Plains and Rosie gawking at how all of them were not only completely cleaned, but also unharmed.

"Um... how did you do that outside of the Fossil Center?" Rosie asked as I simply smiled.

"Well, for some reason, if I come into contact with a fossil rock or a jewel rock, me simply touching them makes all the outside dirt turn to dust. But it only works on fossil rocks, not regular dirt," I said as KL-33N then revived all of the fossils I'd gotten and I then saw that I had four new Vivosaurs on the team. Tarbo, Shanshan, V-Raptor, and Goyle were on my team now and they were converted to Dino Medals before then transferred to the machine nearby.

"So what's this thing?" I asked Rosie.

"Those are VMMs, which can help you switch your Dino Medals on hand for different battles. I suggest getting all of them on the 5 different slots on your team," Rosie said, me then doing just that with Goyle being in SZ slot one, Shanshan in SZ slot 2, and Spinax in the AZ slot. Meanwhile V-Raptor and Tarbo were placed in the side team slots, which I smirked at as I then finished up. And just in time to hear the PA systems.

"Attention all Fossil Fighters! It's time for the Level-Up battles! Please register at the Fossil Stadium to rank up!" a girl said on the PA system, me smirking at that as we Rosie then put her Dino Medals into the VMM and then get her team on her afterwards.

"So how come you had 10 of them on standby?" I asked, Rosie smirking at me.

"I'm the granddaughter of the owner of this island. I'm able to have extra protection if I want it," Rosie said with her tongue sticking out, me smiling at her as we then went to the Fossil Stadium to sign up for our level-up fights.

"Hello there, would you both like to participate in a Level-Up fight?" the receptionist asked, me smirking and nodding at her.

"That we would," I smiled.

"So which of you will go first?" she asked.

"How about you go first, Zina? I can take my test after you sign up," Rosie smiled as I then gave my license to her and she smiled at me.

"Ah yes, Zina Zori, Rank 1. From what Doctor Diggins said, you're able to automatically get mint-condition fossils just by touching them, so we're going to require you to wear these gloves when taking your cleaning test, okay?" she asked, me smirking at that as I simply put them on like a good girl. "Now that you're properly prepared, please enter the door to the right to begin your cleaning test. And please don't touch it with any part of your body? Play fair," she said, me smiling at that.

"I promise to do it by the rules," I smiled at her, me then going to take my test alongside the yellow robot in KL-34N. It was time to do the cleaning process.

I managed to clean the fossil with a perfect score without using a single cheat, which made me smile. I'd gotten 100 points out of 100 and the receptionist smiled at me.

"I see you're good at cleaning regardless! Now your level-up battle will commence. Enter the door on the right to face your opponent," she said, me then doing that and smirking at how my foe was going to be Wendy, the one of the few that knew that I was from a different universe.

"Hello there, Zina. For being from a different world, you're pretty talented at being a newbie Fossil Fighter! But now, I'm going to be your opponent. Beat me and you'll be Rank 2. And be warned, I never show mercy on the battlefield," Wendy smirked as we then went out and got our teams together, me deciding my current team was good to face her off. We then started the match and, of course, she had to go first. Wendy had her Goyo use Rock Head on Spinax and had her V-Raptor attack Spinax as well. He was barely fazed. I then had Spinax use its bite attack on Goyo, it being a OHKO, which caused Wendy to get a metric crap of BP. I then ended my turn and she then had her Shanshan attack Spinax with a combo attack. but it did very little. She then had V-Raptor do the same, managing to poison Spinax. When my turn came, I then hit Shanshan with another bit from Spinax, it being a critical kill! Once that was done, I then switched Spinax with Shanshan and had her attack with a combo, it being the end of V-Raptor and netting me the victory!

"YES! I'm the winner!" I smiled as we then went back to the lobby and Wendy then smirked at me.

"Congratulations on your first rank up, Zina. You completely trounced me, haha! Here's your level 2 license. Now you can get more BP during each of your turns as well as more total BP. And you can also start digging at the Knotwood Forest dig site starting tomorrow!" Wendy smiled as she then gave me my promotion and I smiled widely as Rosie then appeared with her grandfather and she smiled at me.

"Well, I failed my cleaning test twice, then I finally passed it, but then I got trounced against my opponent. I'm going to try again!... But before that, congratulations. You're rank 2 and I'm now willing to date you," Rosie smiled as I saw her grandfather simply chuckled.

"You should feel honored, Zina. It takes a lot for Rosie to be attracted to someone else. Treat her good, okay? If you hurt her in any way, I will never forgive you," Mister Richmond said, me nodding at that.

"As one of my favorite video game characters once shouted, 'Nothing is more badass than treating a woman with respect'. I'm going to treat her with the utmost kindness," I said, him smirking at that.

"Well, whoever said that is a good man in my books!" he smirked as I simply giggled. He had no idea how wrong he was. Sure, Mister Torgue was very respectful towards women, but he also made and sold guns that shot explosions and hosted a death tournament. But I didn't want to say that.

"I'm going to get some sleep. I think you should too, Zina," Rosie smiled at me.

"Stay safe, hone," I smiled as she simply giggled and gave me a hug before then walking off with her grandfather. I had to go to bed back at the hotel after such an eventful first day... maybe then I'd finally wake up from this odd dream.
