Next Morning:
"Hi Mon, how was your date with Pete?" Rachel questions her
"It was okay-ish. I didn't feel any spark with him." Monica replies back.
"Oh" Rachel manages to say.
"How are things with Ross?" Monica questions her.
"We spoke yesterday night and sorted everything. We both just spent the night together." Rachel te
"That's good. Okay, I am not supposed to reveal this. Ross wanted to propose to you on your first anniversary in the planetarium and suddenly you had to work late and then blew up the plan" Monica tells her.
"Really? I am seriously touched by the surprise." Rachel suddenly was surprised and felt a twinge of nausea which was common for her condition. She goes into the bathroom to throw up.
"What happened Rach, you had been throwing up since past few days. Are you fine?" Monica asks concerned
" I just don't want to tell anyone. Ross and I are going to have a baby." Rachel tells her.
"That's awesome. I mean you guys are going to have a baby, I get another niece or a nephew and Ben is going to have a brother or a sister." Monica was surprised.
"I know that. Please don't tell anyone. Only you and Ross know about it. We will tell everyone tomorrow and after a couple of days ,we will announce it to our parents and mine also and please don't say a word about this." Rachel tells her.
"Sure. And take care." Monica tells her. Just then Joey enters the apartment
"Monica, do you have some mustard sauce and some juice, I've run out of both." Joey asks her
"Yeah, take it from the fridge." Monica tells him
"Oh hey Joey." Rachel greets him casually.
"Hi Rachel." Joey greets back.
Later the day:
Chandler and Ross have met at a restaurant for some lunch. They both are discussing about their futures with themselves and their good old days
"I wish I didn't break up with Janice man. I know she is a bit annoying but I cannot have a woman in my life. Maybe I should become a monk." Chandler tells him
"Dude, you would find your girl one day. If you were to be a monk, you better go to the Himalayas and stay there and never crack a sarcastic joke after becoming a monk". Ross sarcastically shot back at Chandler.
"Seriously, you have turned into me. Speaking of it, how is it going on with Rachel?" Chandler asks him
"I came to Monica's yesterday night and then we both spoke a lot. Today, I got reservations for Waters Edge Dining Room exclusively. Planning on to propose to her." Ross spills the secret.
"Great going man. I hope just like the last time, it doesn't end with a fight." Chandler tells him.
"I hope that she remembers it." Ross tells him
"I got an offer from Columbia University to be their professor in paleontology department." Ross tells him
"That's great man. You are getting to teach in an ivy league school. Just happy for you." Chandler tells him."What about Chicago? Are you not going to go there?". He asks Ross.
"Not anymore. Teaching in Columbia is a good option. I mean I get to go on some digs or any conferences." Ross tells him
"That's good. " Chandler awed. "You are one heck of a lucky guy. I mean you got the job you are passionate about, the girl whom you have loved since your high school and a beautiful sister whom you always support no matter what." Chandler tells him
"Thanks man. Hey, why don't you do any job which you like. Why are you stuck in a boring dead end job which you loathe?" Ross asks him
"I don't know man. It just pays my bills. I am just hopeful that I may find my calling." Chandler optimistically remarked. " I actually wanted to be a writer. After seeing what my mother does, it just grosses me out.
"Maybe think of something different from your mother's novels. Maybe write about science fiction genre or whatever." Ross suggests him
"Thanks man." Chandler sincerely thanks him
Later:
Rachel is getting ready to meet Ross at Waters Edge Dining Room. She is not understanding what she should wear and she is confused
"Rach, are you not ready yet?" Monica questions her.
"I'm confused. Should I wear red or black?" Rachel asks her.
"I guess this black dress looks very beautiful. Wear it before you don't fit into it anymore." Monica tells her sarcastically
"Haha, very funny." Rachel remarked.
"I guess you are going to give a heart attack to Ross." Monica remarked
"Really? Doesn't look good ?" Rachel was confused.
"No, I mean you really look so beautiful and you are having some kind of a glow in your face. That is showing up because you are pregnant sweetie" Monica complements her
"Thanks Mon." Rachel tells her little flustered.
Just on cue, Ross knocks the apartment doors. Monica greets him into the apartment.
"You look wow!" Ross was left awestruck after seeing his girlfriend.
"Thank you. Let's go." Rachel tells him a little bit flustered.
She entwines her arm with him and they both exit the apartment
"What would you like to have sir?" The waiter asks them both
"I would love to have a steak and a lasagna and for the lady." Ross tells the waiter
"Okay sir, And for a drink which one would you prefer."
"Grape juice for the lady and a wine for me." Ross tells him
The waiter leaves and they both talk with each other.
"This really looks beautiful Ross. I like this view" Rachel tells him while admiring the beautiful Manhattan skyline along with the Hudson river.
"I know that.I want to ask you something. Rachel Karen Green?"Ross asks her
"Yes Ross?" She replies
"Will you marry me?" Ross asks her while bent on one knee
"Yes! I will marry you." Rachel puts her hand forward and he places the ring on her finger." Love you Ross"
"Love you too Rach." They both kiss each other have their meal and then leave the place. They both go to Ross's apartment and sit down and discuss about their future plans along with their baby and their wedding
"Ross, I just don't want to look fat in my wedding dress. Let's get married as soon as possible." Rachel tells him
"That's fine sweetie. We will tell everyone tomorrow." Ross assures her and maybe we'll tell our parents after your checkup.
"Aww. Thank you Ross." Rachel tells him
"Thanks sweetie. What do you think your dad and mom would feel about our baby?" Rachel asks him
"I don't know, but they would be happy to hear it and maybe they love you as much as the love Monica. " Ross tells her calmly."What about your parents."
" My mom, I don't know, but I guess she might be happy. With daddy, he might flip out." Rachel tells him
"Whatever comes, we are going to face it together." Ross squeezes her arm gently. "I heard that the ugly naked guy who lives across the street is moving it seems right?" Ross asks her
"Yeah. Why?" Rachel was surprised.
"I guess we will move there. At least, we would be living across the street from Monica or you could go and visit her whenever you are free. And that would be our first home together" Ross tells her
Rachel couldn't help but smile. She was ready to take this step
"Hey, should we get married in April 17th, I mean it would be a good date and maybe by September, we would have our baby." Rachel asks her
"Let's talk with your dad and maybe by April 17th,lets get married." Ross tells her.
"Good." Rachel replies.
"And I am not moving to Chicago. I got an offer from Columbia University to teach in their paleontology department,." Ross tells her
"Really?. That's good. I mean I am just happy for you Ross.I love you so much that I just want to be with you." Rachel tells him
"I know sweetheart and I love you. I don't want to be without you." Ross kisses her on her forehead and wraps her into his arms
They both had a long talk about future and what they wish to have so. They both are lucky to have each other by side and Rachel felt happy about the guy whom she was about get married.
In Monica's apartment , she got up early to have some coffee. As for her, her life was going crappy and she had broken up with Richard. And as far as she is concerned with Pete Becker, she was not interested in that guy as he was very obsessive about doing anything. Just then Ross and Rachel enter the apartment
"Hi Mon, what's up?" Ross casually greets his sister.
"Nothing and why are you and Rachel all smiles about." Monica questioned them noticing them
"We'll wait until everyone come." Rachel tells her.
Just then Chandler and Joey enter to have some breakfast at Monica's apartment and later Phoebe also entered the apartment.
"Guys, Rachel and I have to tell you something." Ross declares
"What is it?" Joey questions him
Ross reassuringly squeezes Rachel's hand. This was the time for big news
"Rachel and I are going to get married and we are going to have a new addition into our gang in next 7 months" Ross tells everyone
"What do you mean?" Chandler was surprised
"Are you getting a dog?" Joey questions him leaving Chandler red faced
"No Joey, Ross and I are going to have a baby." Rachel tells them.
"Congrats man. Good going." Joey congratulates the couple.
"That's awesome. And congrats on becoming a dad for the second time and to you also Rach " Chandler tells them
