Mai was shocked when she settled down on her desk, she thought she'll have a few paperwork to do when she arrived, but that wasn't the case as she found out from Madoka that Oliver refuses to take any cases within those two weeks. She's busy reviewing the folder she brought when she arrived when she heard a familiar call that she hasn't heard in years.

"Taniyama-san, tea!" Ever since Mai called him Professor Davis, he refuses to call her Mai; it is always 'Taniyama-san'. She heads towards Lin and Madoka's office first and knocked; she heard a soft 'come in' before she opened the door.

"Lin-san, Mori-san, I'm going to make tea, would you like one as well?" Both of them gave her a small smile and nodded.

"That would be appreciated, Mai." Madoka replied.

"Coffee for me, Taniyama-san. If it's not a burden." Lin replied, he didn't even bother to hide that he is obviously observing her. But Mai just nodded and went to the kitchen, she gave them what they requested and then she goes to Oliver's office and knocked. She let out a soft sigh when she heard his voice telling her to enter; she didn't realize that she was holding her breath while she was waiting.

She gently laid the teacup on his table "Here you go, Professor." She was about to go out of his office when he called her.

"Taniyama-san, it would be inconvenient for me if you continue to call me that, as I am still undercover."

"I will keep that in mind, Shibuya-san." Before Oliver could reply, Mai already went out.

She directly went to her desk and continued to review the folder she had. This folder contains a certain case that her 'friend' gave to her since that friend of hers is unable to handle it, so she was requested.

There was something paranormal going on with the site but what type of entity is still unknown until further investigation. She wanted to take a look of this case, but she couldn't take a few days off since she just started working and she is not sure if her boss would like to take someone else's case. She's in deep thought on how she will investigate that she did not notice Lin in front of her desk.

"Did Noll take a case, Taniyama-san?" She jumped a little when his deep voice resonates in the room.

"No, this is more like a favor from a friend, since they are unable to investigate it, they passed it to me." She closed the folder and was about to put it inside her drawer.

"I'll show it to Noll, he might be interested."

"Show me what?" They both looked at the man who stood next to his office. Before she could react, Lin took the folder on her hand and gave it to Oliver. She silently watched as Oliver scans the case.

"Do you have plans on telling me about this?" He asked, looking at her calculative.

"No, since it's a favor. It's a personal case, not a professional one. I was planning on handling it on my own." She said nonchalantly, while Lin merely observes the two.

"Not anymore, call the others so that we can brief them about the case."

"Shibuya-san, it's not your call."

"It is my call, Mai." They both froze when Oliver called her by her name, but they regained their composure almost immediately. "Dozens are found heavily injured, in hysterics and some are in the brink of death. What makes you think that I'll let you handle this on your own?"

"I didn't, I did not even think of asking for your help." She said, not looking at his eyes.

"This is SPR's case now, just call the others."

"Very well, Shibuya-san."

It was a total of two days for the SPR members and the client to prepare what was needed, and in those past two days, Oliver and Mai has not spoken more than 5 words to each other. Other than Lin and Madoka, the others have no idea what is going on, but they can feel the heavy tension between the two.

John broke the tension when he suddenly called for Mai who was just done putting the last equipment in the van.

"Mai-san, you should join us in the other van." John asked, obviously a bit nervous and rubbing the back of his neck.

"They asked you to keep an eye on me, didn't they?" John let out a soft chuckle and nodded.

Mai just smiled and nodded "Lead the way." John offered his arm and Mai immediately linked arms with him.

"Mai, where are you going?" They both stopped when they heard Oliver called.

"I'm riding with John in the other van, Shibuya-san. Hara-san can join you in that van." They didn't bother hearing a reply when Mai subtly drag John to the other van. John felt like he is in trouble as he felt Oliver's glare as they walked towards the van.

The ride to the site is a bit long, Mai felt a bit groggy as she didn't get a proper sleep last night. She leaned her head on John's shoulder and slowly fell asleep. When John felt that Mai is already asleep, he slowly adjusted her in a much more comfortable position. John looked up front and saw Yasuhara and Ayako looking at them and Monk in the rearview mirror with a small smile on their faces.

"She hasn't changed, she still sleeps anywhere." John smiled sadly and shook his head.

"She can't help it this time; she probably didn't get much sleep last night." John tucked her stray hair to her ear. The others who are witnessing everything did not question John's actions, other than the fact that he is a priest, they found out that Mai communicated with him more than with anyone for the past four years.

They continued to silently drive until they heard a soft moan through the silence, John panicked slightly when drops of tears flowed down Mai's cheeks.

"Takigawa-san, please stop the car for a moment and someone inform Shibuya-san about our detour." He positions her until she is properly seated, the soft moans and silent tears turned into scrunched face, heavy breathing, and soft painful cries.

Mai opened her eyes just to see darkness, but she doesn't need to see to know that something is restraining her. She tried to move around to free herself, but she stopped when someone shushed her softly next to her ear. Slowly, a silhouette of a huge man formed above her and tightly holding her wrist above her head. She thrashed around when she felt lips on her neck and shoulders, she felt like she's going to be sick when she felt wet trails where the lips were. She continued to resist but she screamed when the shadow about her punched her stomach.

"Be a nice little girl for me, or things will get nasty." The shadow said as he licked her earlobes.

One hand was restraining her wrist and one is on her mouth, she felt so weak and fragile as the shadow about her continued to do one of the most destructive things a man can to someone.

Mai opened her eyes with a harsh shaking and loud voice shouting her name. She immediately saw kind blue eyes on her side, looking at her with worry. She took deep breathes and wiped the tears on her cheeks when John took her handkerchief and wiped something on her chin and the side of her lips. She glanced at it and saw red spots on the cloth, she realized that she was bleeding; she must've bit something in her mouth during the dream.

"Mai-san, is it one of them?" John asked softly, as if afraid of making her remember what she dreamt. Mai immediately forced herself to look calm and answered the blonde priest.

"I think so; I guess I'll find out once I find out more about the place." She saw Monk, Ayako and Yasuhara looked at her, worry fills their eyes.

"I'm fine" She said firmly "We should get going, we can't keep the client waiting." They looked at her hesitant, but Monk start the van and drove off.

When they arrived at the site, they saw Lin, Madoka, Masako and Oliver waiting for them besides the van. Madoka went her way to them as they get off; Mai subtly covered her wrist with the sleeves of the jacket that she wore despite the hot weather.

"What happened?" Madoka asked Ayako.

"John asked us to stop the van when he saw Mai crying in her sleep, the next thing we knew once we stopped is that Mai was intensely crying, and blood dripped out of her mouth." They all looked at Mai who was standing beside John and busy typing on her phone.

"Mai, what happened to you?" Oliver asked.

"Nothing, I just had a dream." Mai replied as she pocketed her phone.

"I need more details, Mai." Oliver demanded.

"Something I can't provide as it is still lacking, Sir." She looked at him straight in the eye "The client said that we should use the side door of the building to get in."
