Chapter 1: Return to the Burrow
When the first light of the dawn reached the roof of number 12 Ardville Road, Liverpool, a violet hair in a dark long plain dress was already awake as she stood in front of the bedroom of her housemate.
"Harry-kun?" Raising her slightly, the violet hair girl knocked on the door three time "Are you in there?"
After a minute, seeing the silence was the answer she received, the girl continued in her usual soft and slightly demure voice.
"Harry-kun," Reaching toward the doorknob, the violet hair gave it a twist to find it unlocked "I'm coming in."
The low creaking sound reached her ears as the door was pushed open, revealing the empty bedroom to her eyes. The bed was already made up and except for a cup on the table and Hedwig's absence, everything else seemed to be in their place.
"Work out early today?" Gingerly picking up the cup on the table, the violet hair girl could smell the faint smell of cocoa from it "... Something's bothered him."
Closing the door behind, the violet hair girl quietly brought the cup back to the kitchen. After finishing cleaning the cup, an apron fell into her dedicated hands before wrapping itself around her lovely slim waist.
"Life is a journey
Feelings of hopelessness"
As the delicious aroma started floating lazily around the kitchen, the girl's mellifluous singing carried a soothing air
"Loneliness, she sweeps them all away
Able…Graceful…"
"Ah, what's a wonderful smell!" The moment the head of the last tenant poked into the kitchen, the music came to a sudden halt "And even great music! If you don't mind me asking, what do we have for breakfast, Yuriko-chan?"
With graceful movement, Yuriko swiftly assembled the dish before putting it in front of the middle-aged dandy gentleman in pyjamas.
"Egg Benedict. And thank you for your compliment, Professor."
As the violet hair girl poured the hollandaise sauce into a warm thermos, the silver man started digging in his perfect poached egg.
"Magnificent taste like always, hahaha! Your cooking skill can easily rival the best chefs back in the days I was still teaching in the university." The old man hummed happily "By the way, where's Harry-kun?"
"He hasn't returned from his routine." After the take-away breakfast box was done, Yuriko took off the apron "I will bring him breakfast."
A long amused sigh escaped the Professor's lip
"Ah, young love. Such a beautiful thing." As Yuriko returned to the kitchen, now had a plain dark red scarf wrapped around her neck, the Professor raised his dish cheerfully "Oh hey Yuriko-chan, can I have a seconds?"
Not even bother to look at the dandy middle-age man, Yuriko picked up the breakfast box and elegantly stroll toward the front door.
"No."
"No? Oh come on, Yuriko-chan!" whined the Professor comically "At least give me some bacon..."
The moment the eyes Yuriko inherited from her father turned to the Professor, the fork in his hand instantly bended into a very scary angle before violently snapped.
"Woah!" yelped the silver hair man in surprise "Okay, no more for me, got it!"
Despite Yuriko's neutral expression, her pointed look toward the Napoleon of Crime was more than enough to tell how she was feeling
"While Harry-kun allowed you to mingle around and 'find more opportunities', that doesn't mean you can do whatever you want..." For a brief moment, her blue eyes adopted a frightening crimson hue "... Am I clear?"
"Crystal clear!"
With a tired sigh, Harry flopped down on a bench. His clothes were drenched with sweat as his muscles started groaning while his stomach was demanding to be filled. Perhaps he pushed himself a little too hard.
Releasing another sigh, Harry massaged the lightning scar on his forehead. Damn that dream. It seemed that snake bastard was plotting something again.
"Nah" Harry snorted "He's more like a cockroach now to be honest."
Two times (three if the time when he had been a baby counted too) Harry killed him. And yet the bastard was still alive.
"Just..." mused Harry aloud after taking a swig from his water bottle "... How?"
"How what, Harry-kun?" the sudden question almost made Harry jumped out his seat and brought out his katana.
Almost
"Yuriko?!" said a surprised Harry as he scooted to the bench's right side "What are you doing here?"
With a modest but gentle smile, Yuriko sat down on the other half of the bench and put the take-away box between the two of them.
"I brought you breakfast." It didn't take her long to set up the dish "Egg Benedict with bacon."
"Wow! Thank you very much!" Even though Hogwarts's cooking was very good, Yuriko's cooking was simply superb. "But how do you I..."
"Regardless of routes you take, you always end up at this bench, where you can have a direct view of Melwood and may even meet Ian-san if you're lucky." Under the dawn, the almost doll-liked beauty Yuriko inherited from her mother looked strangely enchanting "Here's your tea."
"Thank you, Yuriko. Oh, did Moriarty..."
"He's already has his share of breakfast." Said Yuriko tersely, her tone left no room for Harry to question any further "Don't worry."
Harry couldn't help but sigh inwardly
'Just what did you do to make Yuriko mad this time, James Moriarty?'
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, Harry put his box down on the bench with a content sigh. Such a delicious breakfast that could make anyone feel spoiled.
"Harry-kun, what's bothering you?"
The Boy-who-lives did his best to keep his face straight as he took a sip from his tea.
"I don't know what you're talking about..."
"You only drink hot cocoa whenever you're bothered by something..." Yuriko just shook her head lightly "... don't you?"
"Ugh..."
Even though Harry knew Yuriko was way more perceptive than she looked, it still felt somewhat disheartening that the girl beside him could read him so easily like that.
Was this the power of female's intuition, he wondered.
"If you don't want to talk about it now, then I won't push you, Harry-kun." Yuriko's tone was understanding as she refilled Harry's cup "Just remember that whenever you need someone to talk to, I am always here by your side."
Harry couldn't help but let out a surrendering sigh. With Yuriko speaking like that, how could he not tell her.
"Last night, my scar was hurt and I got a strange dream of Voldy..." Harry spoke slowly as he recounted his dream "... Wormtail was with him. It seemed like he was plotting something"
Yuriko tilted her head with a hint of confusion.
"A dream of Voldemort? Then why are you hesitant to talk about it?"
Another sigh escaped Harry's lips.
"As I said, it was a dream, Yuriko. And I don't know if it was a vision or just something my mind made up."
Nodding her head at the messy hair young man's reason, the violet girl continued
"Have your scar ever been hurt like that before?"
"Hurt after dreaming? This was the first time." said Harry with a shrug "The scar does hurt whenever Voldy is close to me if what happened in my first two years in Hogwarts indicate anything."
A thoughtful look momentarily appeared on Yuriko's face before she fired another question
"If that's the case, why don't you consult someone who may possess the knowledge regarding this? Like that Dumb-old-door old man, or your Godfather?"
Harry failed to hold a chuckle after hearing the name Yuriko used to call professor Dumbledore. For some reasons, Yuriko really disliked the Hogwarts's headmaster.
"What should I tell professor Dumbledore? 'Dear Professor Dumbledore, Sorry to bother you, but my scar hurt this morning after a dream of Voldermort. Yours sincerely, Harry Potter.'?..."
Yuriko couldn't help but let out a small elegant laugh. After all, who couldn't after seeing the overdramatic way her housemate described how he would write a letter to his Headmaster.
"... And Sirius, he's on the run and I don't want to make him feel worried. The last thing I want is to force him out of hiding just because of something my mind make up."
"What about aunt Shiki?"
Harry's hand went through his hair. Thanked to the early morning wind, the sweat on his hair was pretty much dried up at this point
"Mother won't reveal anything. After her "negotiation" with professor Dumbledore to have you and professor James stay at Hogwarts this year..." Harry let out an odd chuckle "... mother said that I wouldn't get anymore help from her until my fifth year start."
The revelation made Yuriko bowed her head apologetically
"I'm sorry for indirectly causing such trouble..."
"Don't be. In fact, I am happy that I you can go to Hogwarts with me." Harry just shook his head as his left hand unconsciously reached out and squeezed Yuriko's hand gently "After all, there's a saying, 'You want to go fast? Go alone. But if you want to go far, go together.'."
The sudden affectionate gesture made the violet hair girl smile, albeit a bit shyly. It was a sign showing that he was being more and more comfortable around her.
"So... what are you going to do now, Harry-kun?"
"Nothing for now, unfortunately..." sighed Harry. "I just don't have enough information to act anyway."
Sometimes he really hated being in the dark.
"Then it's no use thinking about it." Yuriko tenderly squeezed "Beside, today we are going to your friend's home for that World Cup Quidditch thing, right? So please cheer up, Harry-kun."
"Yeah, you're right." Harry chuckled lightly "Thank you, Yuriko."
Absent-mindedly, Harry's hand went through his hair one more time before a thought appeared in his mind.
"Hmm, maybe I should get a haircut." mused Harry aloud. His front hair was very close to pass his eyebrows while his hair on his sides has already passed the top his ears.
"I like your current hair. You still keep the contact lens, right?" After receiving a nod of confirmation, Yuriko hummed in wonder "If you want, I think I can do something to tame your hair."
Harry immediately perked up at this. He has been trying to tame his hair down, but to no avail.
"Really?" Still, a question promptly stopped his excitement "Wait, but what does my contact lens have to do with my hair?"
After his adoption, aunt Da Vinci has gifted him a pair of modified glasses as well as modified contact lens. They could act as a failsafe in case his power somehow went out of his control and activate by itself. And while he had nothing against the contact lens, he just preferred his traditional glasses more.
"It's a secret..." Yuriko laid her index finger on her lips with a rare and almost impish look "... for now."
"I'm home!" said Mr. Weasley as he pushed the kitchen door open. Due to his home didn't have a traditional fireplace, Mr. Weasley had decided to pick him up using his flying car, which now had a charm called Notice-me-not or something added to it.
The charm was brilliant, Harry admitted. As long as no muggle actively tried to find to find the car, the charm could make the muggle ignored the car completely.
"You're back, dear. " the moment he dragged his trunk through the kitchen door (with the help of professor James), he was engulfed in Mrs. Weasley's bone-crushing hug "Harry dear! How are you doing?"
"Hello Mrs. Weasley." Harry tried to make his greeting sound as polite as possible, which was kinda hard given the situation he was in. "I have been doing good."
"Good, good." The moment Mrs. Weasley released Harry, her attention turned toward his two companions "... And these two are...?"
Yuriko, who always chose to stay on the back of his left side, stepped forward slightly
"I'm Fujimaru Yuriko." his violet hair housemate gave a bow to the Weasley matriarch "It's my pleasure to make your acquaintance, Weasley-san."
"Ah, yes, right. Nice to meet you, dear." Mrs. Weasley was seemingly caught off guard by the way Yuriko acted "Harry told me about you once. All good things so no worry."
"Thank you."
Despite Mrs. Weasley's warm reception toward Yuriko, Harry could see a momentary look of disapproval when she laid her eyes on Yuriko's mid-thigh skirt and black pantyhose.
'Generation gap...' thought Harry inwardly 'Nah, more like time gap to be fair...'
Before his thought could go any further, Moriarty stepped forward.
"Hello madam. My name's James Mori. I am tasked with watching over young Harry here by his parents." After giving a courteous bow, Moriarty reached out and kissed the back of Mrs. Weasley's left hand "It's nice to make your acquaintance."
Harry couldn't help but smirk inwardly at Mrs. Weasley's blushing. Comparing to Moriarty, Lockhart was nothing but a mere child when it came to charisma. With Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were busy interacting with Moriarty, two others redhead sitting at the table approached him.
"How're you doing, Harry?"
The moment Harry shook the offered hand, he could easily tell this was Charlie thanked to all the blisters and calluses. And about Bill... Harry must admitted, he was way cooler than the image Harry once had in his mind, fortunately.
Don't get him wrong. Percy, overall, was an okay person. However, the third son of Weasley could be a bit unbearably pompous ever since he had become Head Boy last year. Therefore, Harry would rather not to see another Percy-liked Head Boy.
"Harry!"
Luckily, his reflex allowed him to withstand the impact of his bushy brown hair female friend's hug.
"Hey mate!" Ron's voice quickly followed Hermione's
"Hello Hermione." smiled Harry. It was always nice to see his friend "And you too, Ron."
"Good afternoon."
The moment Yuriko's greeting reached Ron's ears, the youngest Weasley son instantly tried to make himself a bit more presentable. Meanwhile, Hermione immediately released Harry from the hug and turned to the violet girl.
"Oh!... Um... I'm sorry... but who are you? I'm Hermione Granger, by the way"
Out of the corner of his eye, Harry could see Yuriko was gauging Hermione discreetly. For what reason though, he truly had no idea.
"I'm Fujimaru Yuriko." Instead of taking Hermione's hand, Yuriko gave a slight bow "Nice to meet you, Granger-san."
"Oh... Um, right, you're Japanese, I forgot!" After an awkward second, Hermione mirrored Yuriko's bow "Harry told me about you once."
"Thank you."
An unreadable smile appeared briefly on Yuriko's lips as she bow slightly again, just in time to have the calculating look on her face seen by no one.
"Hello Yuriko, I'm Ron..." Steeling himself, Ron tried his best to said a comprehensible sentence. "I... Well, we've met back then... in the summer before Harry's 2nd year, I mean..."
Harry shook his head in mild amusement at the light shade of red on Ron's cheeks. Still, it was impolite of Ron to keep trying to steal a glance at Yuriko's legs.
"Yes, I remember you, Weasley-san."
Ron instantly perked up at Yuriko's response.
"Yes! Ah, I mean... That's great!... And please, just call me Ron..."
Unfortunately for Ron, he was shoved away by the twin before he could finish his sentence
"Harrikins!" Fred fired the first sentence. Or was it George?
"Nice to see you again!" The other continued
"Just look at him, brother!"
"Yes, yes! He has grown a lot since last summer."
"And look even more mature."
"All thank to our great influence during last year, right George?"
"It's MY influence, brother. And sorry, but I'm Fred, you're George."
"Now you're delusional, brother. We all know I'm Fred."
"Oh no. If you were Fred, you would never mess up..."
While the exchange was entertaining, it was stopped short by the youngest Weasley
"Brothers, please stop. Hello. Harry" Ginny's smile faltered slightly the moment she saw Yuriko standing close to her hero back in her first year "... And you're...?"
Both Fred and George had a smirk on their face now
"Oh, you don't know her."
"Her name's Fujimaru Yuriko."
"She's the girl living with Harrikin!"
"Oh no, not a girl anymore."
"She's grown into a fine lady now!"
"And because we understand your feeling..."
"It saddens us to tell you..."
"That you're already left behind in the competition."
"Therefore..."
After a dramatic pause, the twin simultaneously patted Ginny's shoulders
"Good luck!"
"You're gonna need it!"
With a loud and exuberant laugh, the twin easily evaded the swat from their sister before the voice of an annoyed Percy echoed down
"Fred, George! Can you two keep it down?! I'm trying to work here!"
"... your hair looks silly, dear." said Molly Weasley, fingering her wand lovingly "I wish you'd let me give it a trim..."
"I like it," said Ginny, who was sitting beside Bill. "You're so old-fashioned, Mum. Anyway, it's nowhere near as long as Professor Dumbledore's..."
Shaking her head slightly, Mrs. Weasley moved her gazed around the large dining table. Her husband was chatting with Percy about Ministry works. Hermione looked like she was having an enlightening conversation with Mr. Mori regarding muggle math. Her other sons and Harry were talking spiritedly about the World Cup Quidditch.
And then, there was the girl named Yuriko.
If Molly was honest to herself, the violet hair girl gave her mixed thoughts. The skirt and pantyhose she wore looked like something a scarlet woman would wear, which Molly strongly disproved.
"There's something on your face, Harry-kun." Yuriko, who sat on Harry's left side, wiped away the stain of the sauce on Harry's cheekbone.
Strangely, despite Yuriko's choice of fashion, the girl was quite untalkative, only spoke whenever a question was directed at her. Minus the personal time, she practically always followed Harry on the boy's left side and acted with feminine mannerisms. A perfect image of a conservative wife standing behind her husband.
"Oh, really?" the black hair boy was a bit abashed by Yuriko's action, a light shade of pink could be seen on his cheeks "Thanks, Yuriko."
Ginny's knife met the plate and created a mild clanking sound.
"No need to cut your ham pie that hard, Ginny" chided Bill playfully "It's not like it wrongs you in anyway, you know?"
"Sorry, brother." Ginny just shrugged dismissively "I just used to much force, that's all."
With another unnoticed sigh, Mrs. Weasley waved her wand lazily toward the kitchen as her husband conjured up candles to light up the darkening garden. In a blink, a big strawberry cake appeared on the table and automatically divided itself into equal slices before delivering themselves to everyone. She knew her little girl always had a crush on Harry so she knew it was hard for her daughter to see her target of affection acted like that around another girl, who dressed like a scarlet woman no less!
"... You realize Bertha Jorkins has been missing for over a month now? Went on holiday to Albania and never came back?"
The mention of Bertha Jorkins managed to tore Mrs. Weasley's attention away from her daughter.
"Yes, I was asking Ludo about that," said Mr. Weasley, frowning. "He says Bertha's gotten lost plenty of times before now - though must say, if it was someone in my department, I'd be worried..."
Molly remembered that woman. She didn't seem like a bright woman, which could explain why she kept floating between Departments as well as got lost so many time like that. Absentmindedly, she glanced at her wristwatch only to be reminded by something important.
"Look at the time. You really should be in bed, the whole lot of you'll be up at the crack of dawn to get to the Cup." said Mrs. Weasley as she stood up "Harry, if you leave your school list out, I'll get your things for you tomorrow in Diagon Alley. I'm getting everyone else's. There might not be time after the World Cup, the match went on for five days last time."
"Thank you, Mrs. Weasley." nodded Harry "If you don't mind, could professor Mori tag along? Because he won't go to the World Cup, he could help you since he usually the one help me with getting the school supply."
"Well..." said Molly Weasley as he thought about for a second "... should be no problem I guess."
Thank Merlin that her Apparation skill was quite good so Side-Along Apparation would be no problem.
"Wake up, dear" said Mrs. Weasley as she gently shook her husband
"Ugh..." Mr. Weasley tried to stiff a yawn as he groggily tried wake up "... It's time already?"
"Yes. Now, come on..." the Weasley matriarch smiled slightly "... we have to prepare before I go wake up the children."
Opening the door, Mrs. Weasley quietly exited her bedroom. However, before she could reach the kitchen to prepare a quick breakfast, she was stopped at the living room.
"あなたの香り あなたの話し方
今も身体中に 愛の欠片が残ってるよ"
In the living room, a sleeping Harry was lying on the sofa. His head was on Yuriko's laps, who was clad in a plain long dark dress now, as the violet hair girl was singing in a slow and soothing tone.
"私の願い 私の願いはただ
どうかあなたが幸せで ありますように"
Despite the language barrier, Mrs. Weasley could feel a strange sense of longing in the song. As Yukiko's dedicated hand ran through Harry's untamed black hair lovingly, the Weasley matriarch could see a look of respite on Harry's sleeping face.
"Unlasting world
The course of love
From everything think of you…"
The moment the song came to the end, Yuriko slowly opened her eyes. The moment the violet hair girl noticed the presence of the older woman, she immediately raised her index finger to her lips. A message that Mrs. Weasley understood easily.
"Why is he sleeping here?" Molly lowered her voice as much as she could.
Despite the neutral look in Yuriko's blue eyes, Molly could see there was something more hidden behind that gaze.
"He just has so much in his mind that he has trouble sleeping, that's all." As Yuriko spoke in her usual feminine voice, her hand never stopped brushing Harry's hair "If it's okay, could you please let him sleep a few more minutes, Weasley-san?"
"Of course, of course."
Poor kid, thought Mrs. Weasley. She couldn't understand why fate could be so cruel with such a nice boy like that.
As Mrs. Weasley departed to the kitchen, Yuriko discreetly let out a small sigh before mumbling to herself.
"So Harry-kun's dream was really a vision... If only things could be so simple..."
"You two have fun!" said a cheerful professor as he waved at two of his Master's children "And don't do anything that I think you will do!"
"Well, you lot have a lovely time..." said Mrs. Weasley before she fired another warning at the twin "... and behave yourself!"
Shaking her head disapprovingly at the twin's lack of respond, Mrs. Weasley fumed in annoyance after she and Harry's guardian got back into the house.
"Six months! They spent six months into creating those joke items instead of doing something productive!"
Taking in a few breaths to calm her nerves, Mrs. Weasley turned to the dandy gentleman who just kept a small smile on his face.
"Well, we still have a a few hours until the shops in Diagon Alley open. You can take a short rest if you want, Mr. Mori."
With a charming smile that could put Gilderoy Lockhart to shame, the professor nodded his head
"Please, just call me James. And if you don't mind, I wish to ask a few things."
"Of course."
The middle-aged man fingered his mustache a bit before his voice adopted a hint of curiosity
"Well, in the list there's a request for 'Dress Robe'. What exactly is it, Mrs. Weasley?"
"Ah, that. And please, call me Molly." Molly understood why Harry's guardian wouldn't know. He was a muggle after all. "It's the formal variety of robe for special occasions."
The professor perked up at the information.
"Oh. So that means some kind of special or formal event will be held in Harry's school this year, I presume?"
"I believe so." Mrs. Weasley nodded her head. While she already knew what was going to be held in the Hogwarts thanked to her husband working in the Ministry, she couldn't tell other because it was supposed to be a surprise.
"I see. Well, my next question would be..."
Author's note: A (adopted) son of Void Shiki lived with a daughter of Fujinon while the Napoleon of Crime acted as guardian, what could possible go wrong (for Voldy), right?
Main pairing will be Harry/Yuriko (Fujinon's OC daughter). Maybe more (preferably Fleur or Hermione), I don't know. Writing harem/multi pairings can be quite a hassle after all. No Ginny, though. Because (no offense to Ginny fan), Ginny who? Other than the Chamber of Secret fiasco, she essentially invisible for like 5 books until the Department of Mysteries mess that she suddenly became "important". Seriously, despite all J.K Rowling's talents, her ways of character development can be quite iffy or rushing, pick whichever you like.
Some might complain that this chapter focus a little too much on the OC. In my defense, this chapter is, and probably will be, the only chapter that I can use to flesh out most of the OC's trait before she could be used as a supporting character in my fic.
Regarding the Notice-me-not charm, I know it's a fanon thing (at least in name). However, there're hints in the canon shows that there's charm with similar effect, as long as no muggle actively tried to to find the object under said charm.
Please read and review.
