Author's Note:
Hey, folks. Here is the second chapter and also that disclaimer thing. I don't own anything twilight I'm just playing with it's universe and I own only my OFC Lee.
We could hear everything as we were driving away and Rosalie made a disgusted sound when Carlisle mentioned his "hunt".
I just shook my head and buckled in my seatbelt. I sigiled out a pretty large wooden chest that was filled with 100% pure 100 gram gold bars. I picked up a bar and examined it. It fit in the palm of my hand and I rubbed it with my thumb. One of the first lessons Eranelle taught me was that if I ever needed something; gold, silver and jewels was always the way to go in terms of trading. Plus with being a Hunter and how many caves and super naturals we find the more and more treasures we find too.
"Alice do you happen to know how much money I can get if I sold some of these?"
Alice went still for a few moments and then she blinked and turned back towards me.
"You can sell about a twentieth of what you have just there in that chest and easily become a millionaire. The only problem is we would have to visit a few different pawn shops to not raise any red flags."
I rubbed the back of my neck and looked at her sheepishly.
"Do you guys mind visiting a few extra pawn shops? I don't want to rely just on the family's money. I mined all this gold myself to one day trade."
Alice opened her mouth, "No, we don't mind at all!"
Rosalie just sighed and said, "No, we don't, but your paying for any clothes or shoes we want."
Rosalie looked at me in the rear view mirror with a tight smile and I just gave her a goofy one back.
"Sure thing sis. Today's trip is on me."
Before too long we were at the first pawn shop. Before I could even ask Alice told me to only take out thirty bars as that is the max they would take without being too suspicious.
I just made a noise of agreement then sigiled out a leather pouch to carry it all in. Once I had the bars in the pouch I exited Rosalie's Red Convertible.
Alice led the way in and it took me a second to get my bearings. There was so many things that I haven't seen in so long that it was like looking at it brand new all over again. There was old and new different guns. Sports rings, jerseys, and other paraphernalia. Different knives and swords on display. It was actually Rosalie who snapped me out of it.
"Hey, Lee, do you need us to do it?"
I shook my head, "No, it's not that. I just thought about how I grew up dirt poor and pretty much always have been and now I'm about to be rich."
Rosalie snorted, "Just don't let it get to your head miss rich."
She squeezed my shoulder and followed after Alice. I smiled to myself thinking that Rosalie just reached out to me twice in her own unique way.
I followed after them both and Alice gave me a smile once I reached them. I gave her a fangy smile back and walked up to the person behind the counter.
Their name tag read Greg, and he was an older well dressed man with grey hair. He looked welcoming and when we reached him he said, "Welcome to Pawn's Place. How may I help you today?"
"Hello, I would like to sell some gold bars of mine. Would you take a look and tell me if you're interested?"
Greg shrugged his shoulders, "There is always a market for gold bars. Let me have a look."
I handed him the leather pouch and he opened it up and pulled a bar out. I could see his eyes widen just the slightest as his interest was piqued.
"Well, that's not something you see everyday. 100 gram of 100% pure gold in a bar. Generally, most people come in with bars that are about 75-80% gold. You have thirty of them here. Are you looking to sell all thirty?"
He asked as he brought out a magnifying glass and scale to check each of the bars. I nodded my head yes.
"If you are interested that is, I would like to sell all thirty."
He put the bar down then looked at me, " How much are you hoping to get for each bar?"
I almost panicked as I didn't even think about that, but I didn't have to worry as Alice came to my rescue.
"We were hoping since it was pure gold and not damaged that we could get twelve thousand a piece."
Greg took a second then opened his mouth, "How about nine thousand a piece?"
This time Rosalie cut in and had her patented bitch face on, "eleven thousand."
I could see him sweat a little and I mentally applauded him for trying one more time, "How about ten thousand?"
Alice poked me in the side and I smiled, "I'll sell them for ten thousand."
He let out a sigh of relief and counted all the gold bars. He then proceeded to give me three hundred thousand dollars. I stuffed the money in the leather pouch and once it was in there I sigiled it away. We walked out and I threw my arms over their shoulders and brought them in till their heads were close. I kissed them both on the cheek.
"That was cool Rosalie and Alice! My first experience in a pawn shop and I walked away with an ass ton of money!"
Alice kissed me on the cheek and Rosalie grumbled, but hip bumped me. We proceeded to do the same thing at several more pawn shops and I really was a millionaire by the end of it. My little high was kinda dampened by shopping. Shopping was never really my thing, but I was still happy to go shopping with my new sisters at least.
We were at a pretty big mall and the first place Alice dragged us to was the under clothes store. I immediately dragged them to the boy shorts because no way was I gonna wear wedgie string undies all day long. I grabbed some emoticon prints and Under Armor breathable sweat wicking undies.
Alice commented on my under wear choice, "Are you sure you don't want any sexy under wear?"
I gave her a dead pan look, "I don't have anyone too look good for nor do I care to look good for someone. Even then, I'm still very much a comfort over looks kinda gal. I mean in no ways am I gonna look like a scrub. Plus, I've been pretty much been in the super natural dark ages were I haven't had such comfy under clothes. Let me have my comfort."
Alice just put her hands up and Rosalie scoffed.
"This is a first for the history books. Alice Cullen backing down on fashion for comfort? My how the world is going to end."
I snorted at that and Rosalie smirked at me.
Alice stuck her nose up and sniffed, "I'll have you know Rosalie, that I choose very comfortable clothes while still looking stylish. You haven't complained once about your clothes."
Rosalie rolled her eyes, "You tell everyone what to wear and have a conniption fit if we all don't look our absolute best when we dress ourselves. You are a clothes Nazi Alice and nobody wants to deal with a Nazi."
This time it was Alice who rolled her eyes and made a whatever hand gesture. I just snickered and told them if they wanted anything to go pick some stuff out since I'm paying. They both immediately went and started picking some things.
Some of the articles of clothing had me blushing as I couldn't help but imagine what they would look like on them. Then I felt mortified and ashamed because these were my siblings now.
I brought a hand up to cover my eyes as I felt my eyes welling up from the amount of shame I was feeling. I felt and smelled Alice before she touched my shoulder and I recoiled before she could touch me.
"Hey, what's the matter Lee?" She asked with concern.
I couldn't even look at her nor Rosalie who had come back when she heard Alice.
"I -uh, am ashamed to admit that I thought about how some of those articles of clothing would look on you both and then I was mortified and ashamed because we are family now and I shouldn't be having those kind of thoughts. Well, regardless of being family I am ashamed to even have those kinds of thoughts at all."
Before I could recoil all the way again I felt cold fingers tug on my hand. I moved my hand and looked down at my feet. Rosalie's hand entered my vision and brought my chin up to look her in the eyes.
"Lee, it's okay. I don't mind. I know what effect I have on people and I'm sure Alice doesn't really care either. We aren't real siblings and you are frozen at sixteen. You will probably always be dealing with your hormones until you find someone you can love and loves you back with everything. Everybody has those kinds of thoughts as long as you don't act out on the thoughts there's no harm. So don't be ashamed of your thoughts."
She wiped my tears away and hugged me. What she said made me want to cry harder, but we were in public so, I gave her a good hard squeeze and thanked her.
"Oh what's this our cousin the ice queen is actually comforting someone? My, my, my what a rare sight!"
I was a little embarrassed that I didn't even catch the scent of other vampires. Rosalie growled too low for the humans to hear and let go of me.
"Believe it or not Irina I'm not a frigid bitch all the time."
Someone else snickered, "Meowwwwww cat fight!"
I heard a thump and then another voice say, "Kate, we don't need to be instigating fights."
My heart was racing a little bit from hearing their voices and I couldn't understand why. Usually vampire thrall doesn't work on me since I'm part vampire. Then I remembered that the Denali sisters were called the Succubi for a reason. Maybe they found out how to intimately use pheromones' and chi. I mentally cursed as that is a deadly ass combination; Vampire and Succubi. Humans definitely didn't stand a chance, then supernaturals would definitely have trouble. I mentally prepped myself to have the mental battle of a life time. I opened my eyes and I could see Alice with a small smile on her face and she gave me a nod.
I turned around, "H-" my breath caught in my throat. Now, the Cullens looked like flawless runway models, but the Denali sisters were akin to goddesses in terms of beauty and I have to admit it may have short circuited my brain for a second.
I coughed, "Excuse me. Hello, my name is Lee. I'm actually the newest addition to the Cullen family as of today."
I stuck my hand out and Kate was the first to shake my hand. She had a shit eating grin on her face and I felt the shock in my hand.
"The name's Kate Denali, and I'm shockingly always awesome."
I noted that her hand was calloused from fighting with a weapon for a long time or at least in her human years. I resisted the urge to turn her hand over and run my fingers over the callouses that no doubt reflected some of my own. I had to force out a laugh, not that anybody knew.
"That's a terrible pun and nice little shock there." I let go of her hand and grasped Irina's.
"I'm Irina and unlike my sister I don't generally do horrible puns."
She gave me a smile that could make my heart stutter. Lucky hearts don't actually do that as I'm pretty sure they would be able to hear it. I tried really hard not to let a goofy ass smile take over my face. This terrible combo was already making me aggravated with myself and uncomfortable with the situation in general.
Instead I gave her a quirk of my lips, "Terrible puns have their place and one liners do too."
When she let go I had to resist grasping her hand again and just rubbing my face against it. That would be super creepy. I am not about to be a creeper to anybody. I mentally sighed, "Just one more Lee just one more."
Before my hand even finished going towards Tanya she grasped my hand and brought it up to her face and placed a light kiss on the back of it. I couldn't help but meet her eyes and when our eyes met everything else kinda fell away. Her eyes were black and smoldering and I couldn't help but be sucked into them. I didn't even care that I could feel the blush on my cheeks. I moved my other hand to grab the back of her neck and before it could get past my waist level Alice had grabbed my arm. I almost roared at her but I remembered we were at a mall so, I just hummed and stepped back. Tanya made a sound of discontent in the back of her throat when we were no longer touching.
"Thank you, Alice. I don't know what came over me, my apologies."
She squeezed my hand, but didn't let go of it. I was really thankful because she was the only thing grounding me from running on instinct and that made me extremely dangerous to everyone in a 3 mile radius.
"Don't worry about it Lee. Our cousins tend to leave a lasting impression on everyone." Alice said looking over at the three of them with a frown.
"Later Alice," Tanya said dismissively waving her hand while still looking at me.
I frowned at that because I felt like I was involved, but I wasn't going to pry nor was I going to read her mind as I felt it wasn't overtly important.
"Right, while you'd all like to keep your secrets. Lee still needs a whole new wardrobe. So, let's get moving before the mall closes. You three can either join or move along." Rosalie said tossing her hair over her shoulder while taking her things up to the counter.
The rest of the shopping was interesting to say the least. Or rather frustrating to me in my opinion. Rosalie and Irina bickered I think playfully back and forth through most of it. I would tell her not to bicker too much with my big sister and she would smile at me and I swear my heart would go a flutter.
Kate on the other hand, made many inappropriate comments and got a little handsy. Also maybe a little too into my personal space at some points and it was driving me nuts. I didn't know if I wanted to pull her closer or toss her as hard and far away as possible. To be quite frank; it was making me pissed off having these mixed emotions.
Then there was Tanya. Something in her gaze just made me want to stand straight be alert, puff out my chest and preen all at once. Now, I've definitely been thoroughly humbled by the Ancients and my Master so this is different. She is making me feel the same when I was inducted and made a Novice Hunter.
My only saving grace really was Alice. She ran a lot of interference and snapped my attention back to reality. She definitely deserved the MVP award of the night because she really was keeping all these humans safe from this... I don't even know what to call this. My maybe losing my shit tonight because of three abnormal vampires? Fuck the outliers man. Sorry, I take that back world. Don't give me no bad karma.
Anyways, we ended it at the food court and I just whispered for my siblings to order a slushy each and I'll just have theirs on the way back home.
The Denali sisters left with Tanya saying to Alice, "Let Carlisle know I'll be calling soon."
Alice nodded her head, "It'll work out in the end Tanya. Remember this no matter what."
We put the last of our purchases in the trunk then got into Rosalie's car.
Author'sAfter Note:
So, this chapter didn't go Alice shop-aholic crazy like I thought because I forgot that I was going to also introduce the Denali sisters during the mall chapter. I didn't want the chapter to drag on mindlessly; about clothes appearance when I would just describe what clothes she would wear later.
