SmackDown: 6/4/2000
WWF Thursday Night SmackDown was live at the San Jose Arena in San Jose. The music of Rikishi kicked off SmackDown as the big man challenged Chris Benoit for the Intercontinental Championship. The new champion looked great against the larger Rikishi, defeating him via pinfall after a belly-to-belly suplex. After the match, Rikishi stuck his enormous rear end into Chris Benoit's face.
Shane and Vince McMahon then addressed the capacity crowd. Vince assured everybody in attendance that DX would be there, despite the rumors that they wouldn't be. Vince then called out referee Earl Hebner to clear up the controversy surrounding the final match Monday night on RAW. Earl claimed that The Rock told him to count to three when he was pinning Triple H. Vince threatened to knock Earl on his ass if he ever counted out Triple H in a non sanctioned match again. Vince then called out Lilian Garcia.
He told the ring announcer that pretty faces are a dime a dozen, and threatened to fire her if she made a mistake in her announcements again. Vince then mentioned that J.R. made a similar mistake, however, J.R. never made his way to ringside. Then, Vince announced that tonight's main event will be the Rock vs the Bladewolf with the winner earning the right to face Triple H for the WWF Championship at Backlash!
After this segment, Bladewolf was shown backstage in his locker room with a can of soda in his hands and sipping fromit when someone entered and he looked up to see the Rock, who got a loud reception from the fans as Bladewolf stood.
"Can I help you?" Bladewolf asked, eyebrow raised.
The Rock looked him over. "So, not wearing a mask now?" He asked.
Bladewolf scoffed with a chuckle. "Just because I don't look like some demonic masked monster anymore...doesn't mean I ain't the monster that came here in 1997 and caused destruction, because that side of me will always be around. I just chose to try a different approach in life for once."
"By being human and slightly demonic?" The Rock asked, doing his infamous eyebrow raise.
Bladewolf shrugged. "More human, yeah. But if someone pushes me badly and pisses me off so much...I will let the Demon out again." He got in the Rock's face as the tension in the room could be cut with a knife. "I suppose you saw what Vince had to say."
"Yes." The Rock nodded. "But let the Rock tell you something, it ain't personal. The Rock just wants what Triple H has around his waist, but if going through you gets that...then the Rock is gonna whoop your candy ass tonight and layeth the Smackdown."
Bladewolf just smirked. "Well Rocky, what i do to you in that ring...it ain't personal. We both want what Triple H has, but only one of us can get it. But it won't end with you sprouting your usual bullcrap...it's gonna end with me pinning you after I drop you with a Tombstone."
The two stared each other down as the crowd cheered in the arena. "The Rock will see you later tonight, then." The Rock said and left with Bladewolf watching him go with a glare on his face before he sat back down and watched the show as SmackDown goes to commercial break.
After the commercial break, the fans in attendance got to see T and A, as Test and Albert teamed up to face the Dudley Boyz. Despite a great effort and a beautiful lady at their side, T and A fell victim to the 3D and the Dudley Boys. After the match, Matt and Jeff Hardy attacked the Dudleys. The four Superstars went at each other up until the commercial break.
Perry Saturn and Tazz were scheduled to battle next. However, the match never got under way. Saturn Pearl Harbored Tazz and the match was ruled a no-contest.
Al Snow and Steve Blackman battled the team of Bull Buchanan and Big Boss Man. Boss Man and Bull got the victory when Bull hit Al Snow with a leg drop from the top rope.
In front of the capacity crowd, Eddy Guerrero then asked Chyna why she sided with him on RAW. Chyna answered that she couldn't resist his Latino heat. Chyna then mentioned that Chris Jericho was always jealous of her. Y2J was quick to interrupt Eddy and Chyna's promo. Jericho absolutely destroyed the new couple.
The Light Heavyweight Championship was on the line when Dean Malenko put up the belt against Taka. As expected, the action was fast and furious. On several occasions, Taka nearly upset the Champion. However, Dean was able to pull off the victory after applying a Texas Cloverleaf.
After the commercial break, Godfather and his ladies competed against Big Show. Show came to the ringside dressed as a pimp. The match ended when one of the Godfather's ladies aided Big Show on his way to the victory. After the match, Big Show and the lady that helped him kissed in the center of the ring.
Kurt Angle and Hardcore Holly teamed up to challenge Edge and Christian for the Tag Team Championship. Unfortunately for Angle fans everywhere, his union with Holly turned out to be unsuccessful, as Edge pinned Holly for the pin after a super-super-plex. After the match, Holly attacked Angle.
Next up was the Rock vs the Bladewolf in the Main Event.
In the arena, Triple H's theme plays as he and DX come to ringside and take seats with Vince and Shane there as well, clearly they wanted a closer look at the action.
"Them being here at ringside may not be a good thing for the Rock and the Bladewolf." Cole said as he watched the group.
Jerry didn't seem to mind. "What's wrong with Stephanie being here?"
"It's not her, it's the men around her actually." Cole retorts as The Rock's theme hits and out comes the People's Champion to a pop from the fans. "And just listen to this crowd! What a ovation for the People's Champion!"
The Rock walks down the ramp and enters the ring, posing on one of the turnbuckles before he stares down Triple H and Vince McMahon, not forgetting what happened at WrestleMania when Vince struck him with a steel chair.
"The Rock has not forgotten what happened at WrestleMania." Cole said. "You can tell he wants to hurt Vince McMahn for that chair shot and hurt Triple H."
"Well he can't because that's his boos and Triple H is the WWF Champion!" Jerry said, sucking up as usual as The Rock gets down from the turnbuckle and points at Triple H and motions to the WWF title.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
Metallica's For Whom the Bell Tolls plays to a loud pop before Bladewolf comes out on his motorcycle.
"And here comes the Demon Wolf!" Cole said.
Bladewolf revs the motorcycle a few times as he stares down the Rock in the ring before he drives down the ramp and circles the ring, giving Triple H and his buddies a glare as he passed them. He parks the motorcycle facing the stage before he gets off, gets onto the ring apron and enters the ring with the same cold expression on his face that gave nothing away to what he was thinking as his theme dies down.
"That is one cold expression on the face of the 2-time WWF Champion." Cole said.
"Yeah, looks scarier without that wolf mask he used to wear." Jerry nodded.
Bladewolf takes off his trench coat and tosses it out the ring, adjusting his elbow referee checks both men for illegal weapons before he calls for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"And here we go." Cole said.
Bladewolf and the Rock walk forward and go eye to eye, staring each other down. "You can cut the tension with a knife, Cole." Jerry joked.
The staredown continued before Bladewolf strikes first by landing a hard right that makes the Rock stumble back before the Rock retaliates with a right of his own and right out of the box, both are slugging it out with a exchange of right fists before the Rock started getting the momentum and upperhand, punching away on Bladewolf until he was in the corner.
"The Rock just unloading!" Cole said.
The Rock then lands a hard right that rocks the Demon Wolf who stumbles away before he whirls around and punches the Rock in the jaw, making him stumble back only to be floored by a clothesline.
"Wow!" Jerry said.
"What a clothesline by the Bladewolf." Cole nodded.
Bladewolf looks over at DX, Vince and Shane who were watching closely. Bladewolf flips his hair back before he turns around and grabs the Rock by the hair, causing the referee to warn him but Bladewolf took a threatening step to the referee who backed off. Bladewolf lands a hard right to the Rock's neck, forcing him to his knees then Bladewolf locks in a headlock tightly, trying to weaken the Rock enough he can barely move.
"Headlock is locked in, Bladewolf trying to weaken the Rock down enough so he's out." Cole said before the fans started chanting. "And listen to these people."
'Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!' The Rock fans chanted, trying to get him back into this. It worked as the Rock started fighting back and trying to fight back to his feet with a surge of strength.
Bladewolf didn't allow this as he quickly releases the Rock, grabs him from behind and hits a German Suplex across the ring. Bladewolf jumped to his feet and flipped his hair back to get it out his face before walking over and grabs the Rock's right ankle, dragging him into the middle of the ring. Bladewolf looks around before he rebounds off the ropes and goes for the leg drop across the throat but the Rock rolls out the way, causing Bladewolf to hit the mat hard. The Rock took advantage as he Irish whips Bladewolf into the corner, runs and lands a clothesline in the corner then unloads on the 2-time WWF Champion in the corner.
"Now the Rock getting the control of the match!" Cole said.
The Rock backs off then grabs Bladewolf and drops him to the mat before wrapping his legs around, looking for the Sharpshooter but Bladewolf fights back as he struggles to keep himself out the move.
"Sharpshooter!" Jerry said.
"Rock's going for the Sharpshooter but Bladewolf ain't making it easy!" Cole added.
Bladewolf is able to twist onto his back and pushes the Rock off him with his feet, sending the Rock onto his back. Both men get up and run at each other only to clothesline each other at the same time and fall down.
"Now both men are down!" Cole said.
The crowd cheered and chanted for both men as they tried recovering from taking each other down. Bladewolf grabs the ropes and uses them to pull himself to his feet, shaking his head.
"Bladewolf making it to his feet first." Cole said as the Rock was in the corner. "King, you know the history between these two men from 1998. These two battled for the Intercontinental Championship."
Jerry nodded. "That's right."
Bladewolf runs and hits a turnbuckle clothesline on the Rock, making him stumble forward and Bladewolf grabs him by the throat and the crowd cheers as Bladewolf looks straight at DX and the McMahon before he goes to lift the Rock up but the Rock jumps out of Bladewolf's hold and he turns around...INTO A SPINEBUSTER!
"Spinebuster!" Cole exclaimed.
"No!" Jerry shouted.
The Rock stood above Bladewolf's head with a familiar look in his eyes as the crowd cheered. The Rock took off an elbow pad and tosses it into the fans.
"It is the most Electrifying move!" Cole said as the Rock rebounds off the ropes, and then...HITS THE PEOPLE'S ELBOW! "People's Elbow!"
Bladewolf stumbles to his feet and turns around into the Rock's grip, is lifted up...AND PLANTED WITH THE ROCK BOTTOM! THE ROCK HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THRE-! TRIPLE H PULLS THE REFEREE OUT THE RING!
"Oh come on!" Cole threw a hand up as the crowd booed the WWF Champion who knocks out the referee with a punch.
The Rock glares at Triple H and was about to go attack him...WHEN ROAD DOGG AND X-PAC ATTACK HIM FROM BEHIND! The two attack the Rock in the corner as Triple H slides in and aids his friends in hurting the Rock, stomping down on him. Vince enters with a steel chair as Bladewolf is in the corner, getting to his feet.
Vince raises the chair to hit the Rock...BUT BLADEWOLF CLOBBERS HIM FROM BEHIND! Triple H runs at Bladewolf but is grabbed by the throat, only to be shoved back when X-Pac runs at Bladewolf who grabs him, lifts him up...AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM! Bladewolf knocks Road Dogg down with a hard right then he grabs Vince and looks at the Rock who recovers from the assault.
Bladewolf looks at Vince before he shoves him to the Rock who grabs Vince, lifts him up...AND PLANTS HIM WITH THE ROCK BOTTOM! The Bladewolf and the Rock stand together as they glare at Triple H who had retreated up the ramp, clutching his WWF Championship. The men stare each other down as SmackDown goes off the air...
And that's it for this chapter folks. I hope you all enjoyed it. I tried to make the match longer, even added commentary in because I'm thinking of stopping the commentary since I'm doing that for Son of the Deadman, but I think it helps space the matches out and makes the text longer between the two 'Ding! Ding! Ding' to signify the start and end of the match.
If anyone wants to help me with writing/typing the matches and making them longer, PM me. But make sure to look at Bladewolf's profile on the first chapter to see his finishers and signatures, so do NOT give him high flying moves because he's not a high flyer.
