Okay, so I'm motivated for this story, so here is the second chapter, not as fluffy as the first but it'll be okay, no worries. Everything will be fine. Enjoy!

2. Measure of Loyalty

Lance had decided to have a late brunch at Hunk's restaurant. Hunk had named his restaurant 'Voltron' as a way to pay tribute to their adventures and with the alien diversity such as Shay and Romelle as well as other aliens working there, it was truly fitting. Hunk was out, running another errand for the restaurant so Shay was in charge for now, being his business partner. One of the somewhat newer workers Stacey brought his breakfast meal.

"When will Hunk be back by?" Lance asked her curiously as he sipped his coffee. He wanted to talk to his best friend about Keith's birthday which was coming up so he could book an appointment as it was one of the places his boyfriend was more comfortable at when going out.

"He'll be in here in like 15 minutes," Stacey said, smiling sweetly as she sat down beside him. "But you know, he's not the only one here who wants you to visit more often."

Lance blinked at her, staring, not really understanding why Stacey had sat beside him. Hunk's workers were always friendly, talking but usually keeping a good distance from customers. Still, maybe this was just her way of being friendly.

"Hunk is my best friend," Lance said simply. "Shay is my friend too. The other workers are cool, but I mostly come here for them."

"Are you really that clueless?" Stacey said coyly, twirling a lock of her blonde hair around her fingers as she scooted her chair a little. "Or are you just playing hard to get?"

Lance frowned now, pushing his chair away from hers but Stacey reached over, grabbing his hand, her emerald, green eyes looking at him as if they had latched onto him.

"You should come to visit me more often," Stacey cooed, licking her lips. "I feel so lonely without you."

Lance yanked his hand away from her, voice becoming slightly hard now. If he wasn't worried about the reputation of Hunk's restaurant, he would have snapped at her by now. "Stacey, you're a worker at my best friend's restaurant. In case Hunk hasn't told you, I will. I'm dating someone and we're very happy together." He knew Hunk respected all his workers, so he didn't want to make things hard on his best friend. Maybe he should leave. He left his food, unattended and stood up. "I think I can see Hunk another time."

Stacey frowned at this, looking at the hand he had pulled away from her before a smile filled her face again, an almost soft giggle escaping her. "Such loyalty makes you even more attractive in my eyes, but give me a chance, handsome. No one can please you in the way I can." She moved closer, placing a hand on his thigh, slowly moving her hand further up. "Give me a chance."

Lance pushed her back, causing her to stumble out of the chair. "I said no, Stacey!" Heads turned to stare their way because the shout had been rather loud. "Don't you understand the meaning of the word? I mean it, don't ever touch me again. Or I will tell Hunk."

Stacey felt her cheeks flush red. "Do you honestly think you're loyal to the person you love?" Her hands clenched into fists. "If you had been loyal, you would have pushed me away before this point. You're a hypocrite. You were enjoying my touch, but you want to keep up this act of being noble to the person you love. That's disgusting. At least, I'm more honest than you are." That was all she said before she turned and walked off.

Lance stared after her. Why hadn't he pushed her off before? Was she right about him? No, that wasn't true. He hadn't wanted to be forceful with her because she was a girl and a worker in Hunk's restaurant.

"Lance, are you alright?" Shay's voice interrupted him, and he jumped slightly.

"I'm fine," Lance said quickly. "I have to go." He ran from there, food half-eaten as he rushed out of there, sinking to his knees against a tree. Why was he even letting a silly girl get to him? Keith's been through enough…the last thing I want to do is hurt him, but am I lying to him and myself? Why didn't I push her away sooner? I'm being honest with Keith…aren't I? The sound of his phone buzzing temporarily distracted him from his thoughts, and he bit his lip hard when he saw Keith on the Caller ID, absently pressing 'decline' as he let his phone drop from his hand.
