Chapter two

Love is family

Wyatt awoke to his mother and father standing next to him with bright be smiles on their faces. He smiled back at them just happy to have the attention. "Morning slugger," Leo whispered. "Happy birthday," Piper added. The four-year-old didn't respond, he just stared up at his parents with his happy smile, and then remembered something that made his smile bigger. "My friends come today?" He asked. Both of his parents nodded to him. Wyatt sat up and Leo helped him climb down the ladder of the bunk bed he and Chris now shared. He attempted to climb onto his brother's bed but his mother told him not to. "Chris is still sleeping, let's leave him alone and go get some breakfast." Leo and Piper both knew to never wake Chris up in the morning if they didn't have to or he'd be in a really grumpy mood and therefore likely to misbehave and cause conflicts with his brother. Wyatt nodded and began walking towards his bedroom door. "Hey, Wyatt," Piper whispered. Wyatt turned around to listen to what his mother had to say. "You have some visitors in the kitchen." Wyatt orbed out of his bedroom.

Victor, Phoebe, Coop, Paige, and Henry were all awaiting the birthday boy in the kitchen. Billie was there as well still in her pajamas. "Happy birthday, big guy," Phoebe said. Wyatt ran over to her for a big hug, Phoebe lifted him up into her arms and told him, "you are getting so heavy." She passed him over to Paige and Wyatt happily wrapped his arms around his favourite aunt for a big hug. He smiled when he spotted his grandfather and Paige passed him over to him. Leo and Piper joined the others in the kitchen as Victor placed the child on a chair at the table. "When are my friends coming?" Wyatt asked excitedly. "This afternoon," Leo answered him. "Is that soon?" Leo nodded in response.

There were a few last things that needed to be done before Wyatt's birthday party could start. (Though magic school had reopened and Chris was now attending it's daycare, Wyatt remained in the mortal daycare. He had started connecting with this boy named Austin and had a few other friends. Plus, he'd only be in daycare for a couple of more months since he'd be starting kindergarten in the fall.) Austin along with Wyatt's other friends from daycare along with his friends from magic camp would be attending the party. However, Leo and Piper had agreed on not having any magical or mortal entertainer. Still, they needed to secure the manor by placing crystals at each entry point to keep bad magic out.

Wyatt was old enough to know not to use his powers around mortals as did his magical friends but Chris was too young to understand this. Leo and Piper didn't want to spell the parents again to see only fake magic as they had done on Chris's birthday. So, Henry offered to take Chris out for the day to keep him out of trouble. Piper had been hesitant as she wasn't sure a mortal could handle caring for a magical child that didn't yet have full control over his magic, but then she realized he had two magical children on the way. With Paige being a witch and a white-lighter, these babies were bound to have at least one power each. After all, Victor was mortal and all three of his witch daughters had powers.

"Are you ready to have fun with uncle Henry?" Piper asked. She was holding Chris in her arms, something she found herself doing less and less since he had turned two. Henry and Paige were both standing across from them. They were all by the front door and it was about two hours before Wyatt's party. Chris nodded his head excitedly and reached his arms out to Henry. Paige's heart warmed and she held one hand on her baby bump as she watched Henry take little Chris into his arms. "How about we go get lunch? I was thinking Mcdonalds?" Chris's face lit up and he nodded his little head. "Then we can go play at the park?" Again, Chris nodded. It never snowed in San Francisco, so he was fine to play in the park in just a spring jacket. "Here, you'll need these unless you want to install his car seat in your car," Piper said. She tossed him her car keys.

"Don't worry so much, Chris will be fine," Paige said after Piper's car rolled away from the manor.

"It's not Chris I'm worried about," Piper replied causing her sister to chuckle.

"You're not worried at all about Henry being a dad to magical twins?"

"To be honest, a little."

The sisters walked over to the living room where Phoebe and Leo were sitting. Wyatt was in front of them playing with his cars and Coop had beamed out a while ago having to go to work. "Talking about the twins," Piper said as she and Paige sat down, Piper beside Leo and Paige between her sisters. "You're six months along now. Are you and Henry planning on finding out their genders?" Phoebe looked over at Paige wanting to know the answer too. Leo tuned in as well. "Yes. We have an appointment for next week, but obviously, they're both girls." "you can't know that for sure. I have two boys and this is my first girl," Piper reminded her. Paige shrugged and said, "but the chances of them being boys are so low." Her sister couldn't argue with that. "Life has been so boring lately. Barely any demons, the boys are being well-behaved for the most part. It'll be nice to mix things up with Melinda and later the twins," Piper complained. "Oh no, life's been good to you, better call the cops because this is a crime," Phoebe teased. "Speaking of cops, are Darryl's son's coming to the party?" Paige asked. "Only Darryl junior. Mikey's a little older and he wasn't too interested in coming. Darryl said he's going through a phase where he doesn't want to play with little kids," Piper explained. Phoebe let out a laugh. "He's only eight." Piper shrugged not knowing what to tell her.

Blue balloons taped to the mailbox implying a children's party was happening. Streamers taped to the walls and dangling from lights. A table was placed by the door for presents to be placed. A white banner hung across the entrance to the living room reading "Happy birthday Wyatt" in multiple bright colors. There was a table against the front wall in the living room. It was covered by a light-blue table cloth and contained a pile of paper plates and cups along with plates of delightful surgery snacks like cupcakes with blue frosting and chocolate chip cookies, and few drink options. The driveway and side of the road quickly filled up with cars of multiple colors and shapes. Parents and children emerging from them.

Leo walked over to the front door just as the bell rang. He opened the door and a herd of young kids came rushing in screaming happily and laughing. Their already tired-looking parents followed in after. Wyatt attempted to greet his friends in the living room where children's music was playing through the stereo but got knocked down by his friends as they all rushed past him towards the balloons that lay on the ground. Balloons flew through the air as little feet kicked them around and the parents placed brightly wrapped presents with bows, colourful envelopes, and gift bags sprouting tissue paper on the table next to the front door. Wyatt shrugged it off and got right back up, he received a hug from Austin, and then they were both knocked down by Olivia and Emily, the other kids in the background making as much noise as they possibly could.

(Piper had been worried about Olivia and Emily being at the party knowing they were allowed to use magic whenever they wanted since they lived in the magic realm away from mortals, but even the magic realm kids knew the rule about magic and mortals.) So far they were being normal hyper four-year-old girls. She wasn't worried about Wyatt's other friends from magic camp as they didn't use their powers all willy nilly, and some of them had experience playing with mortal kids.)

A couple of the children were dancing to the wheels on the bus song playing on the stereo. Parents attempted to have conversations but could barely hear each other over the children. A few three-year-old boys from Wyatt's daycare were already smashing their little faces with the cupcakes. Wyatt kept continuously being knocked over but each time wasn't phased and just got back up. Two children from magic camp were arguing over a toy pony they both wanted to play with, and one ended up pushing the other down causing her to cry. The bully's mom yelled at her to behave while the victim's mom scooped up her child and cuddled her. Olivia and Emily along with one mortal girl were laughing as Wyatt chased after them. A little boy came up to Austin and stole his cupcake making him cry. The thief's father grabbed the cupcake from his hand and handed it back to Austin who happily shoved it back into his own mouth. Now the thief was crying and his father threatened to take him straight home if he didn't stop. Wyatt stopped chasing after the girls and was now playing cars with some of the boys and a few girls. They ran the cars up and down the living room mimicking the roaring sound cars make.

Supper came along and the fifteen children gathered at the kiddie's table as their parents served them plates of pizza and glasses of milk, juice, or water. Children were talking with their mouths full, their hands greasy from the pizza. Their parents were gathered around the living room as there hadn't been enough space in the kitchen to fit them as well. Some on the couches and others seated on the floor. Then came the time for cake and the adults all gathered into the kitchen. Leo and Piper took the chocolate cake from the fridge and Paige hit the lights. The room became very silent as the kids awaited the traditional birthday song. Everyone sang it together.

Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Wyatt, happy birthday to you.

Leo and Piper leaned down to hold the cake at his level and Wyatt blew the candles out. The other children cheered for him as they clapped their hands. Wyatt's parents brought the cake over to the counter to cut it into slices and parents lined up with clean plates and forks to get a piece for their child/children. Plates laid down in front of the happy kids who didn't hesitate the dive right into it. Once the kids had been served, the parents got a slice themselves. It was a good thing, Leo had convinced Piper to buy an extra cake.

Since it was starting to get late, Leo announced it was time to open presents and asked that each child retrieve the present they had brought and gather into the living room. The kitchen was left in a state of utter mess. An overflowing garbage can. Plates of half-eaten pizza and cake mixed in with empty dirty plates all over the tables along with plastic forks. Empty juice boxes all over the kids' table and floor. Half drunken water bottles on the table. Food spill, drink spills. Plastic cups with names written on them in black marker. Bits of trash on the floor.

The children sat in a circle, each child aside from Wyatt held the present they had bought. The adults stood around the room hoping Wyatt would like his presents. One present at a time, Wyatt tore off wrapping paper in anticipation or pulled tissue paper out of the bags letting it fly all around him. The children all looked at him excited to see what he had gotten. Each parent looked a tad nervous as Wyatt opened the present their child had brought. Wyatt screamed at each present he unwrapped or took from a bag. He hugged his friends to say thanks and would look at his parents as he held up his gifts for them to see, which in reply his parents would say something like "Ooh look at that."

Wyatt was passed out in his bed by six-thirty. His friends had left only a few minutes after the last present was opened. Chris had still not been returned home and Piper was worried. Leo had ensured her he was probably fine but Piper sent Paige home to go find out what had happened. Paige orbed home at her sister's request to find Henry asleep on the couch with Chris asleep on his chest and stomach. She smiled warmly at the sight and took out of her phone to inform her sister Chris was fine and would be spending the night. She sent a picture too. She then quietly orbed a blanket to herself and tucked them in. She kissed her wonderful husband's lips and her sweet nephew's forehead.

The following week, Piper and Phoebe were both seated in the waiting room at the maternity clinic. They were both pretty sure Paige was having twin daughters but were still excited. Henry and Paige were speaking with their doctor and were going to be finding out the genders any minute now. Piper was uncomfortable in her chair, she was heavily pregnant and found it hard to be comfortable. She had no right to complain knowing Paige was almost twice the size she was now. Piper got up and walked around unable to keep sitting and just a few seconds later, Paige and Henry walked over to her. Phoebe got up and moved herself next to Piper.

"Well?" Piper asked, impatient.

"I was right. They are both girls."

"Congratulations," Piper and Phoebe said together.

"Let's get home and open the baby name book," Piper said.

The three sisters and Henry walked out of the building and saw they were alone, so Paige orbed them to the manor. Henry helped his wife sit down on the couch while Phoebe sat down herself and Piper went to find the baby book full of names. Leo was out running errands, and Wyatt and Chris were at their daycares. Piper returned shortly with the book and Henry helped her sit down before finally sitting down himself. Piper opened the book. "Do you have a first letter in mind?" Piper asked. "I guess I've always liked K names." Piper nodded and flipped through the pages of the girl's section until she reached the names beginning with the letter K. "What about Kacey?" Piper suggested. Paige instantly shook her head. "Reminds me of this really gross nose picker I went to kindie with." "Okay, what about Kadie?" "No, I have a cousin named Kadie, she's not a nice person," Henry shared. "What about Kia?" Henry suggested, taking the book from Piper. "God no!" Phoebe shouted. All eyes turned to her. "That's the name of the shapeshifter Cole used to do things with while she'd take on my appearance." Phoebe almost threw up in her mouth at the memory. "I like this one, Katalina, what do you guys think," Paige said. "I like it," Piper and Phoebe stated. "Hey why don't we call her Kat for short," Henry suggested. "Awe, how adorable," Paige said, the others nodded in agreement.

"Okay, one name picked one more to go," Henry remarked. "I think a name starting a T would be nice," he added. Phoebe took the book from Piper and flipped through the pages until they had come across the T names for girls. "How about Tabitha?" Piper suggested. "Like in bewitched?" Phoebe commented. Piper shrugged and looked at Paige and Henry who both shook their heads. "Talia?" Phoebe suggested. "No, I knew a big bully named Tahlia," Henry said. "How about Taylor?" Coop suggested having just beamed in a few seconds ago unnoticed. He planted a kiss on Phoebe's lips. "No, I know way too many Taylor's," Paige replied. "Talina maybe?" Coop suggested. "No, just doesn't seem right," Henry said. "How about Tammy?" Wyatt suggested. "That's cute honey but I don't think… wait a minute! What are you doing home?" Paige asked him sternly. Wyatt giggled and orbed back to daycare before he could be yelled at. "I do like this one," Henry said. "Tamora, I like that," Paige agreed.

It was a little later in the day. The sisters had gone baby shopping for Melinda and the twins. Leo had just brought home Wyatt and Chris from their daycares. Henry and Coop were both there too. "Ok I'll show how it's done, head and shoulders knees and toes, knees and toes, knees and toes, head and shoulders knees and toes, eyes ears mouth and nose," Leo explained. "OK so first you put your hand on your head, yeah like that good job, now put them on your shoulders, yes good, now on your knees, these are your knees, good job, ok not put them on your toes, great job" Henry taught. "Ok now put them back on your knees, good now back on your toes, good job, of put your hands on your knees again, good ow back on your toes, good job" Coop continued. "OK now put them on your head, now on your shoulders, great job, on your knees, now your toes, ok now put them on your eyes, good now on your ears, great job, ok not on your mouth, and on your nose, great" Leo finished

"Ok, are you ready to try it with us?" Henry asked

"Yes" Wyatt and Chris answered together

"Ok follow what we do"

Paige then orbed to the manor and orbed everyone back to her place. "Ok everyone, we need to set up this nursery, Piper Phoebe and I made a bet, they think I can't do this without magic, I'm going to prove them wrong but I need help, so let's get to it," Paige said. Paige and the guys put together the nursery while Piper and Phoebe watched with the boys. Paige was very tempted to use magic since her back was killing her due to her pregnancy but she remained strong.

That night Phoebe and coop started packing since they were going on their honeymoon the next day. After packing everything they needed Phoebe went into her living room and placed three white candles in a circle. She then attempted to summon Prue with a spell she had written herself.

"I call out to my sister Prue, may her spirit come to me, let her spirit come through, the great design"

In a sparkle of white light, Prue's Spirit stood before Phoebe. Unlike the other times Pure didn't leave the circle she stayed in her spirit form.

"Great spell, but why did you summon me?" Prue asked her

"You said to look forward to March, I was hoping you could tell me why"

"You know I can't tell you that" Prue replied

"Ok then answer me this, was it caused by something that happened on my honeymoon"

"Yes, that's all I can say, I must be going now," Prue said then disappeared in a sparkle of white light.

Early the next morning, everyone said bye to Phoebe and Coop before they left for their honeymoon. Once all the goodbyes were said Paige orbed them to their honeymoon location and then orbed back to the manor, where she said bye to everyone too and orbed Henry home and the orbed herself to her white lighter work.

"Emma please tell me you didn't come looking for the demon," Paige said

"I did, I'm sorry"

"Ok let's get you home, we'll talk about this at our meeting on Friday," Paige said and orbed Emma home.
