Chapter 2: Demonic Jealousy?

-Kaede's hut- (The village)

Inuyasha was pacing back and forth in the village square muttering something while the other villagers were keeping away from him. It didn't look like he was in the mood to talk. 'He's still here. He's still here. He's still HERE' was what was going through Inuyasha's mind over and over again.

What exactly went through Sesshomaru's mind? Why he did it and when he wanted to? Of this Inuyasha had no idea. He was sure it wasn't just to irk him, Inuyasha till he couldn't take it anymore. Still… he couldn't get that image out of his mind wanting to pull his hair out.

Sesshomaru and Kagome. Kagome and Sesshomaru. Together.

Her-in his bastard brother's arms like…like… she was his damn MATE or something!? Protecting her? Saving her life? His face saying he actually liked her or something-usually he'd be disgusted even touching a human.

Jealousy arose inside of him hating himself for feeling this way. Surely Kagome wouldn't fall for his brother right? And bit his lip stopping for a second and looked up at the sky shaking his hair. No, he was just jumping to false conclusions.

Then there was that whole 'mark' issue that everyone brought up. He sure as hell didn't see Kagome get hurt that bad for her to bleed or receive a scar that wouldn't go away. He'd never let Kagome get injured to such an extent for her to fall to her death or something (conveniently forgetting Kikyo had put a spell on him to 'take care' of business)

Everyone had panicked, Miroku had been angry saying he was a complete idiot. No one had even bothered to ask Kagome about it. How she got it, where and if she was even okay. And come to think of it-really odd that Kagome didn't seem that upset about it either…

GAH! Humans! Really! They were something else! And wanted to pull his pretty silver hair out in frustration.

Sesshomaru. He had literally 'barged' his way into their camp like he was staying or belonged here. Was this like Kikyo payback or something? (Like if he could bring Kikyo then Kagome could bring Sesshomaru?) And he couldn't even kick Sesshomaru out and tell him, Rin and that Jaken to go home. Didn't Sesshomaru have anything better to do? No really…

'…..'

Sesshomaru had gently picked her up-whispered into Kagome's ear and dropped her into the well. She didn't even 'pop' back up the well yelling, 'how dare you drop me in here like I'm baggage'

The hell did he even say to her?! god they were almost within kissing range (a term Kagome used) His inner demon arose wanting to spill Sesshomaru's blood in anger, jealousy and an 'I don't think so and go find your own woman' as his fist tightened wanting to go kill something.

Why was life so complicated?

Good question…

Now he was going to go find Sesshomaru and set him straight! That's right! Nodded and started making plans. A Great idea?

Perhaps not…

-With Miroku- (sitting calmly meditating by a tree)

"Hmm…I do wonder when he'll make a hole in the ground by the way he's pacing. You'd think he's actually missing Kagome. He hurts her feelings then wants her back. Not such a great way to get a woman's attention or affection and tell her you love her." Miroku said watching Inuyasha now safely from far away.

"Then should we all grope woman like you do Houshi to get their affections?" Sango said in a teasing manner.

"Why Sango my love! I only do such naughty things to you!" Miroku said in shock looking horrified in a cute way. Sango chuckled and sat nearby watching their 'beloved hanyou' mutter and pace. This would never change, of that she was sure and sighed biting her lip watching his silver hair go back and forth in the wind.

It wasn't even like they could send both brother's off to 'anger management' class like Kagome had once suggested. The poor teacher/sensei would take off in fear for his life even before day 1 of class.

'When Kagome returns I have to talk to her about getting a mate too-human or demon-in the past or present. Whatever she wants of course. We can't keep having so much tension within the group. Alpha troubles since Sesshomaru is here. Mate issues since Kikyo is here and Inuyasha knows he can't have two wives/mates. Hmm…Sesshomaru and Kagome would look cute together. He is an available bachelor after all.' Sango thought vaguely.

"Err my lady Sango? What's that look on your face?" Miroku asked. He knew this was her 'I'm up to something look' and wondered if this was a good or bad thing.

Women were dangerous creatures….

'…'

-With Kagome- (Future—Her room)

"Ah-Choo!" Kagome sneezed. What was that? Yumi said one sneezed if someone was talking about you (apparently having no idea what Sango was planning for her back in the past)

She'd survived somehow-being human and all- with that black mark on her stomach. Sighing she trudged to the bathroom, brush her teeth and perhaps go to sleep if she could after what had happened muttering she should've asked for more information. Trusting someone was hard these days.

'Go home, Kagome. You'll know when the time is right to come back. Oh and seal the well from him as well.'

She wondered if it was time to go back to the feudal era now. GAH! But Sesshomaru made absolutely no sense sometimes. On one hand he's trying to protect her from harm and then on the other hand she's, "Not worth this Sesshomaru's time." Kagome said aloud quoting Sesshomaru (with his poker face) then giggled inwardly. That guy really….

Hearing a car then steps to the house she looked at the clock in her room now realizing that she hadn't eaten anything since lunch at school. She was about to open the door when her mother walked into the house carrying groceries.

As she approached the kitchen she saw her mother starting to sort groceries. 'Okay Kags keep it together now.' Kagome thought and took a deep breath. She didn't want her mom to think anything was wrong.

"Hey mom! Your home. So that's why you're later than usual. Groceries." Kagome said trying to sound normal.

"Kagome are you well?" her mother said looking up giving Kagome a concerned look and felt her forehead.

"Of course." Kagome said to her mother. 'Not.' She said inwardly. How could she forget? Mom's knew everything.

Oh yeah like it was easy to say, "Yeah uh…see mom it's like this-Inuyasha decided he wanted to kill me and then I thought I was dead (now flying in the air) but then it was only Inuyasha's brother who saved my life for reasons even unknown to me. Of course it's fine! Happens every day to everyone ne?" Her mom would blow a gasket and keep her under house arrest forever!

Haaa….Life was never easy for one, Kagome Higurashi was it?

"So uhh what'd you get?" Kagome said trying to change the subject. She didn't realize how hungry she was.

-Back in the Feudal era-

'Smack!'

'Bonk!'

'Kick!'

'Bang!'

…..and then a very loud "OWWWW YOU BRAT!"

"Shippo would you please knock it off?! Stop hitting me dammit!" Inuyasha said trying to pry Shippo off of him while trying to rub his now very sore head and glaring at the kit (who wasn't getting scared by this)

"I want my Mama!" Shippo yelled for what seemed like the thousandth time that day. He didn't care who heard him or even if he yelled himself hoarse.

"Mama! Mama! MAMA!" Shippo started to chant. Then like a desperate child he grabbed Inuyasha by the collar and started to shake him saying, "Where is she Inuyasha! I know you know because it's always your fault! She wouldn't just leave me would she?! Oh no! Did I do something bad!? Is she too busy for me?!"

GASP! What if a demon ate her and you're not telling me!? Shippo said panicking- now pointing at him accusingly like he was really hiding something from him.

Shippo was cut off by a cool voice saying, "Kit. Calm yourself." As Sesshomaru approached them.

"SESSHOMARU! IT'S YOU!" Inuyasha said in an animated way knocking poor Shippo off of him and straight to the ground.

Ouch. That must've hurt him….

"Indeed." Sesshomaru said looking bored as he saw Inuyasha pull out his sword and transform it. Wait, it wasn't transforming?

"Are you surprised?" Sesshomaru asked Inuyasha coolly.

"I have a name you know! I would've thought that you'd have learned it by now! Or maybe it's too much information for your brain! Who thought it was a good idea to make you lord of the western lands? Just because you're first born?! I would've done a much better job! After all, father loved me more!" Inuyasha taunted him.

Actually a really bad idea…..

Sesshomaru growled at him—his eyes turning a hue of pink. Shippo gulped and an oblivious Inuyasha was still ranting about whatnot. Sesshomaru chose to ignore him (he would not shed blood in front of a child) and instead said, "Now what is this about your mother kit?" Sesshomaru said looking down at Shippo.

Inuyasha glared at him saying, "Why do you even care? I mean seriously! You actually sound concerned. She is not worth your precious time.."

"….You should just sit on your blasted throne, signing papers, torturing poor soldiers, planning your next war and ordering others to do your bidding!" and Inuyasha sheathed his sword back seeing that no one was paying attention to him.

Before Inuyasha opened his mouth again he noticed Sesshomaru's expression. 'Interesting.' Inuyasha thought smirking inwardly. Oh so he had feelings for Kagome huh? He was going piss Sesshomaru off to no extent now-what fun this would be.

'….'

-Present time (Kagome's home)-

"Kagome, thanks for helping me with out with the groceries. You know you haven't been to that feudal era of yours for quite some time now. I bet that good-looking, gold-eyed demon would like this yummy Ramen I bought ne?" her mother said holding up the ramen. It was Inuyasha's favorite kind. Kagome's eyes started to water but she sucked it in and shook her head.

"You're right mom…why didn't I think of that now? It has been a while right?" Kagome said.

"Yes. He does get impatient sometimes and drags you back to that era ne?" Kagome's mother said softly and said she should eat before she went to sleep. Kagome nodded.

"Go home, Kagome. You'll know when the time is right to come back…. Oh and seal the well from him as well."

'Hmm. Sesshomaru…is now the right time for me to come back?' Kagome thought about to go through the fridge and groceries having no idea what drama was unfolding back in the feudal era.

-Feudal era- (with Miroku and Sango)

They watched the brother's confrontation from behind a bush silently like a tennis match. They would NEVER get along and that both knew for a fact. Sesshomaru was the ice and Inuyasha was the fire sighing as they heard them fighting each other. Inuyasha always made it his business to get angry for no reason.

'SESSHOMARU! IT'S YOU!'

'Indeed Hanyou.'

'I have a name Ya' know! I would' a thought that you'd learned it by now! Or maybe it's too hard and too much information for your brain! Who was stupid enough to make you lord of the western lands when you don't even know my freakin' name!

'I want my mama!'

'Why do you even care? I mean seriously! You sound concerned. She's a human. Not worth your precious time where you sit on your blasted throne, signing papers, torturing poor soldiers, planning your next war and ordering others to do your bidding?!'

Sango laughed behind her sleeve even Miroku looked amused. The 'dogs' were having a 'cat-fight.'

"Houshi-sama where do you think Kagome is? Could she have gone back home? Inuyasha hasn't been to the well for a while so I don't know if he can even go through-maybe Kagome has sealed him off?" Sango said worried for her little sister. Kagome had never been gone for this long.

"Do not worry Sango. I do believe that Kagome-sama will return to us in due time." Miroku said in a calm voice. He looked at both brother's thoughtfully who were still 'at it' Geez like an old married couple.

Almost like they enjoyed it. Having a 'brotherly fight' or maybe this was a hello of sorts?

'….'

-Back to the Present- (With Kagome)

She slowly walked back to her room feeling a bit guilty. She didn't exactly lie to her mother….she just...hmmm...err

She just didn't tell her because it was only going to upset her mother after all! Yes, what would a mother say if she heard that 'the demon her daughter has been traveling with for two years now wants to send her to the world of the no longer living just because a dead girl told him to?'

The only thing Kagome wanted to know, however, was did he do it on his own or was he under some spell? He'd been under countless spells of Kikyo's before.

-Sota- (While Kagome was in the bathroom)

He stood outside her room wondering whether he should knock and talk to her. A moping sister didn't sit well with him. Even if mother hadn't noticed Kagome's strange behavior he sure did. Why would she avoid Inuyasha? And even if she wasn't then why didn't Inuyasha come to the future to spend time with him (Sota) anymore?

Why didn't she go and at least see her 'son' (Sota knew Shippo was her adopted son) once in a while? He was sure Shippo was really missing her.

It wasn't like him to go and snoop in his sister's room and seeing a familiar face? Hey was that Inuyasha? He went over and picked it up. Red stripes, armor, different ears, white clothes. Definitely Male and a demon. Nope this wasn't Inuyasha but maybe he was related to him? Then Sota remembered something Kagome said the last time she came home.

-Flashback-

Kagome sat at the dinner table and sighed in exasperation. "Oh god that Sesshomaru! If only he dropped that cold demeanor of his. The only thing him and his half- brother Inuyasha somewhat share are their hair and their eyes. I swear that if he hadn't tried to kill me twice and didn't hate humans so much then I would've fallen for him rather than Inuyasha!"

-End Flashback-

Sota looked at the picture again and frowned. If so, then why did she keep a picture of him? Was Kagome attracted to him? That could turn out to be a bad habit….

-Feudal era- (with the Inu-tachi and Sesshomaru)

So Kagome was mated to someone? And this was her child? 'Hn.' He thought.

'You really think she'd wait for you to change your mind? You are very late my friend!' his conscious said.

'…'

'We shall find and kill him! No one will take away our future mate!' his beast said, eager to spill blood.

There was complete silence for a while and it was grating on Inuyasha's nerves. Miroku looked between the both and then, by god! Didn't even notice his hand inching closer to Sango's derriere. Suddenly….(SMACK!) and a red handprint appeared on his cheek and Miroku was all swirly-eyed. How had she known?! He hadn't even touched her!

Women were dangerous creatures indeed!

'…'

"I always keep my guard up when I'm near you Houshi!" Sango hissed.

'Oh.' he thought. Well then….

Sango was watching Sesshomaru and she could bet only she had seen it-Sesshomaru was jealous and his beast wanted to spill blood. She was a demon-slayer after all, and she could read demons, so to speak. How adorable….She'd never thought him to fall in love with a human.

'I wouldn't go that far Sango…' her conscious warned her.

Shippo looked up from where he had been 'dropped' and then wondered why Sesshomaru cared. Hmm…did he perhaps wonder or assume that he (Shippo) was Kagome's real biological son? And even if so…huh?

"HA-HA! Who would've thought?! That the GREAT SESSHOMARU would be jealous of all things? How the mighty have fallen! Human lover! Oi you! I'm talking to you baka!" Inuyasha yelled.

Yes, Inuyasha might be getting himself killed today…..

'…..'

-Kagome- (by the bone-eater's well in the future)

It was night-time but she needed to go back and set things straight and also before her mom started to ask questions that she didn't want to answer-released the seal and jumped in. She'd come back for her things and inwardly wondered what she'd find when she got to the feudal era.

Then she heard a loud yell from near Inuyasha's forest but she didn't yell a 'sit' nor did she sigh in exasperation and pulled pepper spray from her pocket. Hey a girl needed to be prepared for anything.

She heard Inuyasha yell and very rudely insult Sesshomaru. So Sesshomaru was here? Huh…Speak of the devil. Then Kagome blushed red and shook her head. Why was she thinking about him like that?

'Where's my mama?!' (A yell from Shippo)

Kagome smiled. Of course her baby missed her. Shippo probably thought that Inuyasha did something bad to her.

'Eh?' Kagome felt a dangerous and angry aura from Sesshomaru feeling her 'Miko senses' rise at the feel of demon danger. Why in the seven hells should he of all people be concerned for her well-being and her safety? Life just grew weirder in the feudal era by the second.

And on top of all that? Sesshomaru and Inuyasha needed a time-out…..

"I will kill you now, you insect." Sesshomaru said flexing his claws.

"Not if I kill you first!" Inuyasha yelled and then charged at Sesshomaru who looked damn right amused as hell. This would never get old….

"Now that is quite enough children!" Kagome said loudly-now entering the clearing- hands on her hips. Both stopped and turned to look at Kagome. Inuyasha looked confused then scared at a very angry fuming Kagome whose eyes were blazing with fire.

Eh gads…. There would be hell to pay now. Kagome looked up to see Sesshomaru giving her a contemplating look. Of course her yell hadn't affected him at all. He wasn't one to be pushed over so easily.

"Honestly you two! You both need to go back to kindergarten!" she said like she'd march them straight there.

"What is this 'kinder-gartaan' you speak of? Is it dangerous?" Inuyasha asked.

'...'

"Hm perhaps it is a weapon. Or a hell humans torture each other in?" Miroku said nodding then noticed something in Kagome's hands.

Kagome had a weird looking gadget in her hand. Was that perhaps from the future? Miroku thought curiously-only to notice her in a purple shirt with straps and short pants (Capri's) Very revealing. Typical Miroku.

Suddenly Sango looked to where he was looking and then muttered, "Hentai!" and bonked him with her boomerang.

(BONK!)

"MAMA!" Shippo exclaimed happily and jumped into her arms. He snuggled into her arms as Kagome smiled and Sango sighed happily. Everything was okay now right?

"You're back." Sesshomaru said in an indifferent voice, eyebrow raise at her 'choice' of outfit.

'You know you're happy.' his beast grumbled then disappearing.

"Sesshomaru." Kagome said (feeling relieved and comforted by his presence) and a smirk only seen by Kagome appeared on Sesshomaru's face whose feeling was mutual.

It wasn't very comforting to know she was 500 years into the future. Who knew when and if that broken well would be destroyed? She would never be able to return here.

It shouldn't have bothered him but it did as he approached closer to her.
