Summary: #day5 - Doorway: How was the saying go with the doors and the new chances?

(Thurday afternoon)

"Hello, sis."

Jazz was just staring at him blankly, blinking rapidly to perceive the picture in front of her, but then as the words sank along with the sight (against the human disguise), the teenager took an unaware step back.

"You-" her voice wasn't terrified, rather confused and… curious?

Dan smirked, a little proud. "So, you remember me, huh?"

"Kinda hard to forget." well, that definitely was a snap now.

"Sure, sure." he nodded, and moved to get inside, but then the girl blocked his way. Dan let out a frustrated sigh but then put it together. "Danny is home too, right?"

There was a momentary silence, but then the red-haired youngster answered, in a low voice, that intended to tell she wasn't sure that voicing the state aloud was the wisest decision. "It's- it's just me."

Dan raised an eyebrow. It was definitely school-time, almost the middle of the day, how on hell- he marked the girl in front of him, looking her up and down, observing, and again, but she didn't seem pale or-

"Are you sick?" he enquired, but that didn't fit, Jazz was never a sick-type, against, well, against him and…

"What?" the question was taken rather in a high voice. "Why are you interested in my health?" Yeah, right, why did he even ask? Fair point. It didn't even count. Not even a bit, but still.

"Then why the hell are you home, alone? It's daytime. And I bet, you are not skipping a class or anything right now, so-" Dan wondered, but then shook his head, realising that even in the long run that hardly was relevant. "You know what? Whatever." he said and stepped closer, but again, she moved, just like him, standing in his way.

Dan tsked, starting to get really annoyed by it, but then licked his lips, and approached the situation from an other angle. "All right, listen to me, let me get this straight for you, because, seemingly you don't understand." he started, facing the teenager. "There are two scenarios. One, you let me in. Two, instead, I'll go after Danny, and believe me, I know where I can find him." Dan cleared for her.

Basically, he didn't want to threaten her, but there wasn't any easy way currently and by those options, once he was inside, the whole situation could be cleared and to tell the truth, she couldn't know either that it was nothing just an empty threat.

There was a long silence, but then the teenager unwillingly moved away a bit and let him in next to her. God, how much he hated using the 'menace' card to reach her, but yet, he didn't have any other choice, and- yeah. Definitely not a good start, but- Dan closed his eyes and forced himself to from now trying everything to solve on a better way.

Suddenly he gazed at his legs, boots on a very familiar floor, with the front door closing behind him, and- Wow, so, he was inside now.

"So, here it starts." he whispered, recognising. He was here, now, and- he had a mission to do. Dan lifted his eyes, spotting the girl walking to the kitchen. Well, Jazz wasn't calculated, but then again, maybe by her kind heart the all could be done easier, getting Danny and…

Suddenly he realised: she let him in, after everything. It felt- so maybe- maybe after everything, the things could turn out good, just as Jazz let him in. It wasn't just about him threatening her, right? No, that had to be more. And even if that was about that, Jazz wasn't yet running down to the lab to get every possible anti-ghost weapon, she was- she was just in the kitchen, marking him. Sure, he should have really moved from the door, before he looked really weird, just standing there, but, still- how was the saying go with the doors and the new chances? Yeah, definitely, he should have appreciated that after all… and now, he even was on to reach something different. By that, he took a step ahead.

A/N: once, there'll be a strict continuation for this (in a similar like this one short-form), to make the whole picture about the missed scene for the first chapter (WTPH), so- I don't know when, but I'll be working on that...
