Ch: 2

As they rode in the elevator Theresa asked, "How's Loren working out on Patrol?"

He replied, "Her TO says she's a natural."

Theresa asked, "Have you met Chelsea's new boyfriend?"

Billy replied, "Ran into them the other night at Molly's as well as Mary Ann and her doc."

At Atwater's questioning look Billy said, "My sister Mary Ann is married to a surgeon named Walt Johnson and my sister Chelsea is dating an ASA named Steve Connors."

Theresa chuckled as she said, "Dad doesn't like him."

Billy grinned as he said, "Course Daddy don't like lawyers; with the exception of Mary Ann.

Theresa laughed as they stepped off the elevators. They saw their brother Matt talking with Dr. Wil Halstead; Billy motioned Atwater to go ahead as he and Theresa walked up and asked, "What's up?"

Mat turned to his older siblings and replied, "We had the ultrasound today."

Both Theresa and Billy were elated. They both knew how hard and how long Matt and is wife Julie had been trying to have children Theresa asked, "Well..."

Julie came walking up and said, "Twins; a boy and a girl."

She pulled her sister-in-law in for a huge hug as Billy hugged his younger brother the they switched. Billy said, "I'm very happy for y'all. Well, I got to go. I'll probably drop by tomorrow night."

Julie that would be great; I'll have dinner prepared say about 7:30. Oh and bring that new girlfriend of yours."

Matt chimed in, "Yea we met her; Nurse April Sexton."

Billy chuckled as he said, "See y'all then."

And with that he and Theresa headed to meet up with Atwater, Jay and Hailey. Along the way they were intercepted by April. He told Theresa to go on while he warmly embraced April. He kissed her then said, "We were invited to dinner tomorrow night at Matt and Julie's."

She was ecstatic as she said, "That's great. I'm off tomorrow."

He grinned at her as he said, "Awesome; so you wanna have a late dinner. I'll probably be done bout 7:00

She gave him one more kiss then said, "Sounds good."

He said as they separated, "I'll see you then; love you darlin'."

She leaned up on her tiptoes and kissed him as she said, "I love you too cowboy."

And with that she walked off.

When he got to the room he said in a soft gentle voice, "My name is Billy What's yours?"

The teenaged girl didn't say anything so Hailey said, "Her name is Brandy."

Billy said, "Hello Brandy; can you tell me what happened?"

Again, Brandy remained quiet so Hailey told him of the three men breaking in and hurting her mom, her dad and took her sister and how the man had hurt her. When he went to ask how Haily motioned to her nether region. Billy shuddered in revulsion as he looked at the bruised and traumatized teenaged girl and he felt a white-hot burning rage overtake him. It turned into an icy ball of fury. He asked, "Did we get descriptions and do we know what they were after?"

Jay said, "They were from the Latin Kings. Her older brother is a member of the G Park Lords. His name is Jayvon Copeland. Apparently, Jayvon killed some Latin Kings in a drive by so the retaliated."

Billy nodded as he said, "I've got an informant I can talk to."

Jay asked, "You have an informant in the Latin Kings?"

Billy nodded as he and Atwater left.

When they got to a pool hall; a known Latin Kings hangout Billy said, "Follow my lead."

Atwater said, Lead on dawg."

And with that they walked into the pool hall. A big fat heavily tattooed gangbanger barred their way. Billy growled, "Move fatboy or 'll move you."

The banger sneered, "Like to see you try Cabron."

A cold smirk twisted Billy's lips and he was about to flatten the fat banger when the leader; Jorge Rivera walked up and smoothly said, "DET Echohawk, my man how ya been essa?"

Billy said, "Jorge Rivera meet DET Kevin Atwater."

Rivera nodded at Atwater as he asked, "What can we do for you holmes?"

Billy grabbed Rivera by the throat and slammed him against the wall. He caught movement out of the corner of his eye and he palmed his 686 eared back the hammer and leveled it at the bangers as he said, "Tell your boys to get back or I'm goin to start makin bodies turn cold."

Rivera knew Billy was deadly serious and would kill his boys. He said, "Everybody settle down; I'm just talking to the detectives."

Billy nodded as he and Atwater drug Rivera outside.

Once they were outside Billy eased the hammer down and holstered his revolver and asked, "Who did you send after Jayvon Copeland's family?"

Rivera replied, "I have no idea what you talkin bout essa."

Billy asked, "Do you really expect me to believe that; come on really?"

Atwater said, "Come on dawg tell us the truth; come correct."

Rivera said, "I have no idea who Jayvon Copeland is. You gotta believe me holmes."

Billy said, "We were told the Latin Kings are war with the G Park Lords and that Copeland and his family were targeted because of a drive by."

Rivera said, I'll check with my boys and back to you."

Billy heaved a heavy sigh as he said, "alright; you do that. If you don't I'll be back and you know you don't want me to come back."

Then he hit him in the stomach with a devastating uppercut and let him drop to the ground. Billy and Atwater got in his car and drove back to the district.
