Hey guys, this is the new chapter of the Wolfwalkers and Green Lantern story.
If anyone wondering why the chapter is short, it due to me not wanting to have to deal with a writing block.
So here is the next new chapter. Enjoy.
"Blast those girls! Blast them all in hell!"
Blast them, indeed.
To the belief of their lord, one must think a man is truly mad enough to put fear among those who have high hope for the future.
Well, this man of course is the definition of those thoughts.
And this man was none other than Cromwell.
He awoke, laying on the stone ground as he breathed heavily and slump near the river as his entire body was wet.
Ever since he was chosen to lead his own town, his belief and task were all in the faith of his lord.
A lord that he believes is true.
But this truth never came to him.
After the mystery of Wolfwalker became well known, he was determined to wipe them out, believing they are the cause of fear, not him.
Alas, his claims were mere lies and he never admits it.
As a result, it ended in him falling to his demise from the hand of a Wolfwalker.
Now he is on the ground, fallen from his duty and having nothing to him.
His first thoughts were hatred.
Revenge, probably.
A revenge coming to those Wolfwalkers themselves.
Then his second thought came. What will he do now?
He couldn't return back to the town, nor could he return back to England after what happened.
It would bring shame to him, even guilt.
A guilt against his name of the Lord protector.
Just then, as he opened his eyes and managed to gain some vision, he saw something near him.
A green ring.
Puzzle by it, he got up slowly, feeling the bite mark from his attack on the wolves.
It was on his abdomen, feeling the blood dripping and pain increasing at every step he made.
He reaches out his hand to grab the ring.
He took a closer look, wondering what this ring is laying around for?
But what made him more confused and even, intrigue was the signature on it.
It was like an unknown language he had never heard of.
"What the devil is this?" He mutters, taking a closer look.
He put the ring to his finger, figuring it may possess some power of some sort.
After all, with his encounter with magic wolves anything is possible.
As soon as he puts it on, the wound on him suddenly has a green light covering it.
Startled by it, he fell back to the ground, until eventually it was gone, along with the wound.
This shocked him. Did the ring heal him?
He looked up at it and then back to his supposed wound.
"My wound…it….gone", He uttered, as he got up again, "Whatever blazing hell is this, it surely has….power".
Soon, he felt no longer weak.
He felt healthier, perhaps due to the ring.
Still, it didn't come to him that his thoughts alone made the ring heal him.
Instead, he kept wondering, "But what kind of power I am not sure. Possibly sorcery, maybe. Or perhaps, a ring from the lord".
As soon as he began to take steps, he was stopped by a voice, "Hold!"
He stopped and stood, as he saw two soldiers wearing armor and wielding rifles, aiming at him.
They were no ordinary soldiers. They were his own men. His own army to lead.
And somehow, they are using the weapon given to them by him to point at the supposed protector of them.
"Stay where you are, Cromwell", One of the men said.
"Wha….what going on?" At first he was relieved to see some men, not wolves. But at the same time, he felt confused and outraged, "What is the meaning of this? Lower your weapon, I demand you!"
"We are here to arrest you for using the name of god for your own deeds, sir".
"My own deeds?! Who told you this nonsense?! I am the protector of god itself!"
"You are no protector, Cromwell. We are told by the people of your town. And we are taking you in custody to King Charlie's".
"King Charlie's", Cromwell mutters, "That's bloody bastard".
"Stand down, Cromwell. We do not desire more blood shed".
As the men came closer to him, Cromwell walked back, warning them as he tried to reach something in his pocket.
A knife, as a desperate attempt to fight back, "Stand back. I warn ya! You do not dare touch the lord himself!"
After he spoke, a green axe was thrown at one of the men, whose head was chopped off.
The other soldier screamed as he saw his comrade became a corpse to his own eye.
Even Cromwell was horrified by what he just did.
The soldier aims and fires at him out of fear and anger, only for Cromwell to duck down as a green shield protects him, which also deflect the bullets to hit back at the soldier, who falls on the ground.
He's not dead, not yet.
Cromwell, after standing up and looking down at the two fallen soldiers, his realization hit him.
He glanced at the ring.
His realization came that the ring indeed follows his own thoughts alone, and that he wields a special power that protects him from anything.
As soon as he looked back down at the barely alive soldier, he began to chuckle a little.
The man was choking blood and covering his wound, exclaiming, "What in hell….just….happen?!"
"I don't know", Cromwell replied, "But I do know that God has given me extra power to bring justice to those who denied me. Betray me. And even, humiliated me".
"Wha…..what are you talking about?"
"Hmm, nothing", Cromwell then create a giant, green boulder and lifted it up in the air as he is going to smash the man in pieces, as the man himself saw it and was dearly scare, "Just thinking on how to rid back on those who are against gods, especially those witches".
"No…no! Don't do it! The king will surely hang you or-"
"Oh, I have no concern for that", He said, "Now that I have the power of god, I will not only bring punishment on that town of mines, but also to the Wolfwalkers and King Charlie's himself!"
With one slam, the man was dead.
Cromwell has a new priority in his hand. Revenge and a new task for him to do.
Hope you guys enjoy it.
Sorry it short, but I want to finish the story a bit faster. Not too fast, but to assure a long update won't happen.
And to anyone wondering why Cromwell manage to use the ring, it pretty much the same question as to why Lobo and the Penguin manage to use it.
But anyways, stay tune for more action! As the next chapter will feature Mebh and Robyn meeting Hal.
