You know… while I may be somewhat of an introvert, that doesn't mean I dislike going out. It's just that the idea usually doesn't occur to me.
Just like now, going through the countryside always relaxes someone, especially if they've been living in the city for long.
Only problem was that I had no friggin' idea of where I was or a place to fall back to all while carrying a chair.
Damn ROBs!
While my newfounded unnatural strength allows me to carry it like a feather, it doesn't mean it is weightless: fatigue still builds up in the muscles and I have to make frequent rests. At least, it was a good idea to bring it.
Imagine it, a hobo sitting on a wheelchair (the office type) in the wild. Only needed a stick with colorful underwear and it would be perfect.
Anyways, I used those breaks to test the Driver's other function: weapon summoning. In the show, even untransformed people were able to use Rider weapons against Guardians and the Smash in somewhat equal terms. Given that those were military robots and superhuman monsters they were being used at, their power was what I needed until I was able to transform.
It works!
From the Drill Crusher to the Fullbottle Buster, I had all of Build's arsenal including Cross-Z's Beat Closer sword. Those three especially were able to use the Fullbottles power for finishers. Though I don't think I can unleash the full potential like the Hawk Gatlinger or the 4Koma Ninpoutou without their respective bottles.
At least they work, too! My first try with the Drill Crusher was spent with me trying to make a hole with the now realistically rotating sci-fi drill with no special effects and blowing up some trees and rocks with the gun function.
And I have to say, the results were pretty good… and terrifying in retrospect. With the drill, apart from flying dirt into my body, it broke through the ground like a hot knife through butter, without jamming or getting loose of my arm. And the gunshots made huge holes in wood as well as broke the rocks into thousand pieces like nothing.
I've been watching videos about swords and ballistics and these are nothing compared to the destructive power I've seen and used from the Drill Crusher.
If I remember well, the Drill Crusher was used by untransformed Riders to take on Guardians, robot mooks that normal soldiers even had problems with as well as damage Smashes to a minimum extent. While the initial batches of those two were very easy for Riders to take on, they're still superhuman compared to everyone else. And those weapons I have access to now were actually designed for transformed Riders to take on their equally if not stronger adversaries.
In short, they are very OP compared to Earth's military anti-personnel technology who doesn't have access to physics-defying tech, not to say not having human sized adversaries that would take tanks or missiles at minimum to defeat.
Forget about the Rider system! If Namba or any organization were to mass-produce these easily (comparatively speaking) reproducible weapons instead of making transformation devices that only a few can use, they wouldn't have any competitors! Or worse, equipping Hard Guardians, which can compete with Riders in strength, with them.
I… think I won't have any problems defending myself unless something far above street-level appears. Hahaha.
Though I would prefer if nothing that would kill me appeared. Not only I never killed anyone but I have an aversion towards real-image gore. Even if it wasn't a person, killing an animal with those would be very repulsive.
Brr! Oh God… Let's hope I don't encounter giant bugs. I hate that absurd phobia. Sure, it may have diminished with time but I still don't think I can be near them. How worse? I can't kill a cockroach because I would find its corpse, intact or not, terror inducing.
Granted, cockroaches are already awful, though if I'm really in another world…
Jeez, I think I need to relax. I decided to take my break, sit back, eat fruit that I found and listen to some bit of music. Gotta use all those days of offline Spotify left until I'm only able to play from my own saved music.
What, you think it's stupid to just stop to listen music in an unknown forest? Bite me. I'm trying to cope all I can in this situation. Music helps with that.
Besides, I have the Cross-Z Dragon, upgraded to Great with the Great Dragon Evolbottle, as look-out not to talk about the arsenal of superpowered guns, swords and knuckles I have access to.
The Build Phone also has the Lion Fullbottle that transforms it into a bike, though that is useless for me due to my dislike of two-wheeled vehicles discouraging me from learning to drive a motorbike safely without a high-tech power armor.
I seriously need to raise my Hazard Level… maybe I should do daily training with the Fullbottles opened?
I chose to play a randomized song from Amalee. Oh, Cruel Angel Thesis, nice.

Bandit hunting, bandit hunting. Another day of grinding E-X-P!
Aaaaaaaah, after surviving that damned labyrinth, Mother and the Demon Lord, grinding the heck out of this improvised Peninsula of Power while improving my Evil Eye skills feels soooo cathartic. Besides, I'm helping reduce the crime rate as a Japanese role-model citizen!
Ok, maybe I'm not that good a role-model. I don't think too many would see with good eyes someone butchering people left and right even if they're criminals. Unless they're terrorists, of course, which I think the bandits and their conspiracy elf bosses are. Besides, bringing people to justice non-lethally is something for superheroes, which I'm not.
Would I still count as Japanese when I'm a Spider born in a dungeon from another world?
Bah, who cares. I'm still me and that's all it counts. Well, me and my other two Parallel Minds. You know what I'm talking about!
Anyway, here I was, beginning another new day, using my Panoptic Vision in case some bandit camp appeared overnight, when I found something completely unexpected.
In the forest that I made into a temporary home, I found someone.
A redhead around my age, well at least the age my body had in my previous life, which looked Westerner, like the humans I've found so far in this world.
What was unlike the other humans of this world was that he's wearing modern clothes. Bringing around a modern office wheeled chair. And having a mini-robot dragon flying around him?
Strangely enough, I found the chair to be the most bizarre thing there. I mean, really, a chair. Wouldn't that be out of context!?
Not only that, I've seen him putting on some kind of bizarre belt with a lever and summoning weapons from tubes that generated from the belt itself!
Hmm, I have a feeling I've seen something like that belt somewhere before. Thing is, I don't remember when.
In short, there's a person that looked like he came out of Earth or some sci-fi setting. In a medieval fantasy world.
No way.
That's… incredibly suspicious actually. That Administrator, D, said that only my class (except her) were reincarnated here (by her, why not). However, her behavior reminds me of something I've read about in fanfics and Internet forums: Random Omnipotent Being or ROB. Sometimes Bastard is added ending up with BROB, which I wholeheartedly agree D is one.
*snicker*
Wait, she can read my mind. Does that mean she took offense to that?! I mean, she said I was interesting and may be observing me even now, that stalker!
Brrr.
But I can't do anything. I'm just a spider while she is a god. A G-O-D, I tell you! A GOD!
If she can pluck out the souls of the dead from my world to this one and being in charge of a RPG System that rules, why cannot she physically transport anyone else?
Let's just Appraise him!
Error. Unable to Appraise
What?!
Impossible!
Ms. Appraisal never failed once! And the only times she did it was due to the Skill level.
Wait, I've encountered someone that I couldn't Appraise before. That black armored man… Is he like that guy?
It requires more investigation. The hard-boiled way!
Uh. Why did I think about tokusatsu right now?
Here are the results!
Thanks to Wisdom, I was able to hear when talked for himself or his dragon. Fortunately, he talked in Spanish as well as English, languages I can speak as well as further proof that he's from Earth, or at least an alternate Earth.
You know about the belt, the robo dragon and the weapons? Apparently they're Kamen Rider items! And they're real!
Kamen Rider. The Japanese masked superheroes that deliver justice with their kicks and motorcycles at the shout of HENSHIN!
I can't believe they're real! My innocent toku fangirl is squealing in joy!
Though something is still not right. Why would there be a Kamen Rider here? In a world where the System exists. Come to think of it, is he in the System? If not, that would explain why I couldn't Appraise him. And I don't think D would let anyone not playing by her rules, much less let a Rider here. Everyone knows Kamen Riders will not stand by when evil lurks and with that Evil God around, they'd probably try to bring down the System, I guess.
I don't know, okay? It's just a hypothesis!
If D were not the one to transport him here, there could be only one other suspect…
… I swear, if that pink jerkass was behind all this, I'll curse him!
And the other thing I'm confused about. I don't recognize the Driver, neither the other Rider things, to be sure. He called it the Build Driver, the collectible transformation trinkets Fullbottles and the Rider he's supposed to be Cross-Z, however, it seemed like those weren't really his, naming some Banjo guy as being the owner.
Apparently, this Rider System depends on something called Hazard Levels that need to be high enough to work and that it can be raised thanks to something called Nebula Gas inside those bottles as well as strong emotions.
I'm pretty sure I watched, read and heard every piece of Rider media possible but I haven't heard of a Rider like that. The most recent Kamen Rider series right now was Drive.
Maybe he comes from a world with other KR series or probably the future?
Though I have to comment, that guy sure talks a lot. I mean, yeah he has a toy dragon that can understand and answer him but most of the time he's talking to himself.
Seriously, who talks to oneself like that? No way. You must be either crazy or lonely to do that. Right, girls?
[Yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!]
See? Even my Parallel Minds think the same.
Nevertheless, I gained a ridiculous amount of information.
However, that leaves one final question: should I make contact?
I mean, sure, I can invest Skill Points in Telepathy like I'm doing right now. Uh, 100 points, that's cheap. And I know the languages he's speaking. Also, he's someone from Earth and a Kamen Rider to boot. Well, at least supposed to be a Rider.
Due to us being Earthlings in a hostile world, we should make an alliance. With my spider skills and his Rider powers, we could possibly take on the Demon Lord! And maybe the Administrators!
But… here's the problem.
I'm a spider monster.
Do you know how many spider monsters the Kamen Riders made explode? A lot! They're some of the most common enemies for the Riders. Especially at the beginning of the series!
Wait, wasn't this Rider unable to transform at this moment? That's perfect! He now doesn't have a chance against me, not even with Rider weaponry. Muahahahaha!
Should I even conspire against a possible ally of Justice that could (and will) help me survive this insane world? Especially a rookie player that just entered the game?
Bwah! As long as he doesn't attack me everything will be okay and no one will be killed!
… Um, even if he isn't hostile… how do I speak to him?
No, seriously.
I'm not accustomed to people, in fact, I'm left paralyzed with huge crowds or physical contact. I was lucky to be able to go to school with how many people go there.
Though I was always on my own, never joining up cliques. Heck, I rarely chatted in online games and never joined parties or guilds.
And I was bullied, too. Though it wasn't very intense. Just some drinks spilled on me and my things and a few insults and that's it. While annoying, I always thought dealing with it to be a waste of time, so it didn't affect me as much as expected.
Come on, me. He's just a person. Not a whole baseball stadium audience. And he looks Western. I heard they are much more lax than the Japanese, no need to conform to strict Japanese etiquette customs!
… I can't do it. I think I'll continue observing from afar. Maybe in another time, I would… wait, is that a smartphone?
And is that Cruel Angel Thesis?! Even if it's in English, I can still recognize that melody and understand the lyrics as if they were in my mother tongue.
Screw it! Consequences be damned! I need that smartphone! Abstinence syndrome is hitting in full! Let's just say hello and figure out the rest. That good fellow may need a Senpai in order to not be killed until he becomes able to Henshin by himself. Not that I would need his password or anything.
At the end, he allowed me to use his phone as well as form an alliance of sorts, though thinking it back, mayyyyyyyybe we should have thought about some of the problems that would happen in our 'relationship'.
AN: Cliffhanger! Just to be clear, the next scene may be the most awkward conversation ever between a hikikomori spider girl with social phobias and an arachnophobe boy who isn't exactly a social butterfly though at least has more social skills than Kumoko at least. The only thing that could salvage it may be their otaku tendencies and that may not be very effective at all.
If we were to compare SI's strength right now, he has Ryuga Banjo's physical prowess from the beginning of Build, you know, the strength necessary to punch military robots. While that's impressive and completely superhuman, especially for someone who was deaged to his midteens and only did exercise at school, for our world's standards, he's still extremely weak for Kamen Rider and Kumo Desu standards: he would be equivalent to an average human adventurer/soldier in strength, and those aren't exactly very strong. Sure, he may be able to take on a small army of Elroe's Upper Layer low-level monsters with only Rider weapons though lack of experience as well as other factors may see him killed very soon if he acted reckless. Heck, without Rider armor, he's weaker than G3 Mild!
As for his Rider forms, well, KR and Kumo Desu have different power scaling systems as well as very distinct feats on each side. For now, Cross-Z base form when unlocked would be as strong as a Greater Taratect/high-leveled Wyrm/low-ranking Dragon. Stronger than most elite humans and demons though still insignificant to many other brutally stronger foes that exist on that world, until he raises up Hazard Levels and unlocks superior forms, that is.
I decided on giving him Build's weapons apart from Banjo's to give him some advantage: while his potential and growth are high, he doesn't possess the many abilities Sento and the System users have, and neither has the martial skill of Banjo. My character will have to create a completely different fighting style to take on the challenges that he will take on though it will also have a bit of Sento and Banjo due to possessing their tech.
And yeah, he's not in the System, which would make for some interesting reactions, like the lack of magic attacks and use of completely alien and equally physics/biology defying Nebula Gas to compensate. Hehehe.
And in case no one took notice, yes, Kumoko was the POV of the second part of this chapter, she's one of the protagonists or deuteragonist of this story. Her interactions with Cross-Z are very relevant here, you'll see. And no, it's not trashy romance, despite what shippers, in and out of universe would think of, it's something much more complicated than that.
So no, Grandma Loli Demon Lord, you'll not have great-grandchildren even if you're joking. That's not gonna happen.
