Chapter 2: Super Fan Activities

One milder third Saturday of May 2021, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri at Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties client Grace Luster's house in Cheswick. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We sat down to eat cobb salad for lunch and cupcakes for dessert. "Angel, you will never guess the cool activities that we have planned for my Angel Kitty sleepover next Saturday," Grace told me. "What are they?" I asked. "First, we will play Body Parts Identifier, then we will play Fill-in-the-Blank with lyrics from your songs, and then have an alphabet scavenger hunt with objects regarding your band," Grace explained. "We also plan to cover some of your music, dance to your music, and make fan art." "Hopefully, I will be able to make a full album and not just an EP song like I did last year," I explained. "I think you should be able to since most restrictions are loosening up from last year," Sarah told me. "Huge crowds won't be a thing of the past now, will they?" I asked. "In that case, you still have to be very careful because not everybody will be vaccinated at the time," Sarah told me. "I still remember the baseball game at my high school, and it was a lot of fun to have Sarah and Angel with me," James stated. "You still didn't mention food yet, Grace," Henri pointed out. "What all will you have to eat?" "Well, we will have a lot of your favorite foods, including pizza with the works from Pizza Care, chicken tenders and potato patch fries, and brownie sundaes for dessert," Grace explained. "Do you want something to drink with that meal?" Henri asked. "How about lemonade like James and I sold on an unseasonably hot spring day?" "Wow, lemonade sounds pretty good, too," Henri stated. I even played my "Summer Fun" album for Grace to hear from the summer of 2019 after the regular playlist was over. "Is this why you guys like Santana so much?" Grace asked. "Yes, this is one of the bands behind Angel Kitty," I explained. "Is that other song I just heard performed by Santana as well? Because I have never heard it at work shifts before." "No, the song before 'Global Ghost' was a song by 98 Degrees entitled 'Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)', and the reason you have never heard it before is because it is a different group's dance anthem." "What is your dance anthem again?" Grace asked. "I forget." "'Into the Night' by Santana and Chad Kroeger," I reminded Grace. "As a matter of fact, I have learned all of the lyrics to the song so I can sing the whole song for you guys." We then headed to Target in Harmarville for everything that we needed for Grace's slumber party. Sarah and I helped shop for ingredients for homemade chicken tenders, as well as index cards for the Fill in the Blank game. James helped shop for ingredients for homemade Potato Patch fries, as well as pictures of my band and a karaoke machine. Henri helped shop for ingredients for Brownie Sundaes, as well as art supplies for the Fan Art. After our shift was over, we traveled across the river to CCAC Boyce Campus to see a play written by senior Natalie Bay about the coronavirus outbreak, and her best friends Erica (alumni), Rebecca (junior), Elizabeth (sophomore), and Jessica (sophomore). We all really enjoyed it. "Yesterday's evening Childhood Chat was a lot of fun," I told my friends. "We didn't know that next month's Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties client also participated in Self-Care Camp week, but the junior version, obviously," Sarah pointed out. "We could have also gone to Mount Lebanon where we made the Rice Krispies treats where Julia participated in a soccer game," James stated. "The recipes for the summer look tasty," Henri pointed out, licking his lips. "I know, Henri," I happily stated. "I will be making the peanut butter and jelly sandwich cake, Sarah will be making the cereal bowl cake, James will be making the giant s'more cake, and Henri will be making the Sicilian pizza cake." "Lauren went to Brighton Heights 2 days before we did," Sarah pointed out. "Only to play bowling." "Yeah, the tai chi lesson and dance party in Brighton Heights was a lot of fun that day," I pointed out. Then, Sarah, James, and Henri dropped me off at my mentor, Jenna's apartment in Point Breeze. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Bye, guys!" "Bye!"
