Chapter 2:
Ladybug and Cat Noir finished their treat and started having a random chat. The Black Cat's ears wriggled as he heard a siren.
"Let's get back to duty." He got up and twirled his staff, his lady rose with a new enthusiasm and swung her yo-yo, "Let's not be late. Come on!"
They jumped over the streets and houses and Cat Noir squealed at some springs which made Ladybug give him a silly look. But she did notice how happy he was, his blonde hair dancing with the wind. He spotted the situation and gave the report.
"Looks like we have to jump into the fire." They leapt and put their weapons in their mouths as protection from the smoke. After 10 minutes, they finished their job.
"Pound it!" They fistpumped.
"Catch you tomorrow, milady!"
"See you soon, Kitty!"
thanks again.She thought as she launched her yo-yo.
As she approached her house, she saw her parents on the roof. She had to find another place to detransform and another lie for being out.
She landed under a building parallel her home. She detransformed and peeped to see her parents worried faces.
She waved at them as she came in sight. She ran across the road since there weren't many vehicles at that time of night. Her mom's jaw dropped as she saw Marinette running.
She called,"Marinette! Stop!"
Before she understood, she heard a horn from the incoming truck. Her reflex action made her jump but was hit by the stopping automobile. Her vision blurred as she fell. Last thing she heard was Tikki whispering,"Mari-inette! Marine-tte!"
She fainted after the accident.
Marinette regained consciousness when she rubbed her head. She felt dizzy but then got a sniff of the new environment. She gazed around and found an IV attached to her right hand. She gasped and woke up in a jerk but slight pains in her back and neck stinged her.
Her hair was down, she reached out to ears to find the earrings missing. She freaked out and called for someone. The doctor came in and calmed her down.
"Doctor, where are my parents?" She asked.
"We're here darling." Her parents came in and embraced her with caution. The doctor asked," How are you feeling?"
Marinette: "I'm better, but there is some pain."
Doctor: "Yes you might feel it for a few days. But don't worry, there is a surgery that can fix it. It will take a week."
"A WEEK?!" Marinette shouted, startling everyone in the ward.
Doctor: "Otherwise you will have to roam in a wheelchair for few months."
Marinette considered both options and chose to go with the surgery.
"Are you sure dear?" Sabine asked as she placed a hand on her shoulder. Marinette nodded with confidence in her eyes. Tom Dupain also supported by saying, "Of course my daughter is not afraid of risks!"
The family nodded and the doctor took their decision as final.
"Don't worry, we'll stay right here with you." Sabine assured with a small smile, receiving a 'thanks' from her girl.
"MARINETTE!" Alya dashed and hugged her friend, she looked like as if she saw a dead soul alive. "I was worried that I'd never see you again!"
Behind her stood Nino, Mylene, Rose, Juleka, Alix, Nathaniel,Max and Adrien.
Nino: "Hey Mari dude! You look just fine and you'll get out of here very soon!"
Mylene: "Make sure to relax. It's important for a quick recovery."
Rose: "We'll be at your service whenever you wish."
Juleka: "You can count on me and Luka for some melody."
Max: "I and Marcov can keep you updated about anything or we could play video games anytime."
Alix: "We just hope you get well soon. If you want to share anything, I can lend a ear."
Nathaniel: "You can read our comics if you like."
Marc: "Yeah! We came up with some awesome ideas lately."
Marinette: "Wow that's amazing! I'd love to! Thank you guys."
She gave a warm smile in gratitude. Even though she was happy, she was worried about Tikki and Master Fu. She wanted to meet or call them.
What about Ladybug? What about Paris? What about Cat Noir?
