The night of the party arrived. The boys did their chores and lines then headed into the kitchen to clean up from dinner before going to their room for bed. They were exhausted but still planned to sneak out to Travis' party. They had to plan their moves very carefully. John and Sam were out on a hunt, so they only had to worry about Dean. After finishing their cleanup and saying goodnight they headed into their bedroom.

"Okay," Said Johnny, "Dad will probably be in the study doing research for Grandpa and Uncle Sam, so we have to be careful not to pass by that window, and we need to be quiet."

"I know how this works Johnny; we've snuck out before." Caden replied.

"Hey, you're the one who said we needed to be careful, I'm just going over the plan."

"Fine, you're right. Quietly out the window, around the back of the house, through the trees and over to Travis'. It's 9:45 now, so we need to be back by midnight."

"Why midnight?"

"Your dad usually goes to bed around 12:30-1 and he might check on us. Plus, we're gonna be up running at six and I'm already tired, we need to get some sleep."

"Fine, midnight it is, but let's get a move on then. Are you ready?"

"Yeah, let's go."

The boys carefully pushed up their window and shimmied out like they had multiple times before. Careful not to cross by the study window they went around the house and headed for the wooded area that stood between their house and Travis'. As they crossed through the forest Caden heard a stick snap behind them.

"What was that?" Caden asked with a jump.

"It's just an animal, calm down. We're almost there." Johnny assured him.

A few minutes later they came out on the other side and walked up the hill to Travis' house. The party was a blast. Most of the kids from their class were there and since they had been grounded since school let out the boys hadn't seen anyone in weeks. Travis' cousin had provided beer for the party. Caden decided one couldn't hurt, and Johnny figured one was good, but five was better. Caden was talking to a few friends from his English class when he checked the time and saw it was quarter to 12. He left the group to find Johnny and head home. He found Johnny in the middle of a beer pong tournament, after the game was over Caden went to his cousin to let him know it was time to go.

"Johnny, let's go. It's already midnight!"

"Whaaat? What's the rush, cuz? I just won my third game in a row, I'm on a roll!"

"I don't care, we need to get back! And how many beers have you had?"

Johnny held up three fingers. "Ummm, 5?" He let out a big belly laugh.

"Ugh, I swear you're gonna be the death of me, Johnny Winchester." Caden said as he grabbed his cousin around the waste and helped him outside.

"Geez, cuz. You're such a party pooper." Johnny said, and then let out a sudden giggle. "Pooper… haha"

Caden rolled his eyes at his cousin's immaturity. "Whatever Johnny, come on. No, this way, towards the trees. Come on."

As they headed toward the woods that separated Travis' house and their own they ran into some kids from the party running from the trees looking frightened.

"Come on, lets go!" One kid yelled to his friends.

"Hey, what's going on?" Caden asked one of the kids running by.

"There's a bear or something in there, I heard it growl." The kid answered as he ran past.

"I swear I saw red eyes!" Another said as he fled.

"A bear?" Caden thought out loud. "There's no bears around here."

"Maybe it's a wolf." Johnny said "Rawrr!" He yelled in Caden's face with a laugh.

"You seriously need to sober up, dude. Here." He handed Johnny a bottle of water from his pocket. "Drink this, and just relax. What kind of a wolf has red eyes? I don't think we should go through the trees, Johnny. Let's just take the long way up the road."

"What are you scared of, man? It's just a bear."

"It's not a bear. There are no bears here. What if it's.." Caden looked around to make sure nobody could hear him. "What if it's supernatural?" He whispered.

"Don't you think our dad's would know if there was something supernatural practically in our backyard?"

"Yeah, maybe. But that doesn't mean they'd tell us. Plus, remember your dad was telling us about a wolf when he was researching last week? I swear he said it had red eyes."

"Just because he mentioned them doesn't mean they're here. You're just paranoid. Come on, let's go." Johnny started pulling his cousin toward the trees.

"No, Johnny." Caden stopped. "I don't think we should. Those kids said they saw-"

"What do they know? They're probably drunk." Johnny said with a laugh.

"Well, what do you know? You're drunk too! Come on, I think we should take the road."

"Fine." Johnny said. He pulled out his silver knife. "Suit yourself!" He turned and ran toward the trees away from his cousin.

"JOHNNY!" Caden yelled after him but Johnny didn't stop or turn around. "Dammit!" He mumbled under his breathe, then ran to catch up to his cousin.

By the time Caden caught up with him Johnny was already well into the trees. Johnny knew how to walk stealthily as to not draw attention to himself, but the beer he had ingested impaired his ability to know when he was being quiet and not. In his head he was acting like a sly hunter, but to Caden he looked like a bumbling fool who was tripping over his own feet.

"Johnny, shut up! You're being so loud!" Caden scolded.

"Relax, I got this!"

"Got what?"

"The wolf, I'll get it!"

"Are you insane? No, we're not hunting right now! We're getting our asses home as quickly and quietly as possible! It's already 12:30, and we are in no way equipped to hunt an unknown monster." Caden yell-whispered to his cousin.

Johnny was still skulking around like he was on a great hunt while Caden tried to drag him home by the arm. Suddenly, they heard a grown behind them, Caden slowly turned and saw two glowing red eyes mere feet from where they were standing.

"Johnny, don't move." Caden whispered, trying to remain calm.

The creature simply looked at them for a moment, then it stood up on it's hind legs and Caden saw that it was nearly 8 feet tall. It let out a monstrous roar and charged toward the boys. Caden grabbed his cousin's hand and yanked him behind a tree. All he had on him was his knife, even if he knew it would kill the creature, he couldn't get close enough to stab it without getting his head ripped off. They're only hope was to run. He bolted toward the house with his cousins arm still in his grip, it was then that he realized this wolf was ridiculously fast. Suddenly, it was in front of them and they had nowhere else to go. Johnny was either too shocked or too drunk to react, he just stared, terrified at the monstrous creature in front of them. Both boys held out their knives in front of them, knowing it wouldn't do any good but not sure what else to do.

'This is it, this is how we're gonna die. From a giant wolf, just yards from their front door.' He closed his eyes, preparing for the end when he heard a familiar voice call out.

"GET DOWN!"

Both boys instantly dropped to the forest floor. A loud shot rang out, then another, then another. They heard the creature shriek as more shots fired through the air. Finally, they heard the creature fall. Was it dead? They didn't know but they didn't dare move from where they were laying on the cold, hard earth. After what seemed like an eternity they heard heavy footsteps coming toward them.

"Hey, are you ok?" Caden knew that voice. He felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned over and was face to face with his father.

"Caden?" Sam's facial expression turned to one of shock, fear, and anger. "What- what the hell are you doing here?"

"D-dad? Is it dead?"

"Is it-? Yes, it's dead." As the shock wore off some Sam's voice became angrier. "What the hell are you doing here?"

Caden just stared wide eyed at his father, too full of fear to speak.

John walked up to the other boy and picked him up. "You boys better have one hell of an explanation."

Johnny was still frozen with fear. "We- uhm…"

"We don't have time for this now." John interrupted. "Sam, take the boys home, then come back here and help me get rid of this thing. Go! Now!"

Sam grabbed one boy in each arm and swiftly marched them toward the house. Sam was so angry he couldn't speak, and the boys didn't know what to say anyway. When they got to the front door Sam turned the knob and walked them inside. Dean was just coming out of the kitchen with a pot of coffee and three mugs. "Hey, I heard the shots, did you get-" He paused as he saw his brother standing there with his son and nephew. "Wha- what's going on?" He asked, confused.

"The G-wolf almost killed these two, that's what's going on. They were literally seconds away from death when dad and I got there."

Dean looked from one boy to the other. "What the hell?" He asked, still confused.

Sam let go of their arms and pushed them toward their room. "Go to bed, NOW! We'll talk about this in the morning." The boys quickly ran to their room. "I have to go help dad with the body, we'll be back soon. I'm too angry to deal with them tonight."

The shock still hadn't worn off Dean who thought the boys were asleep in their beds all night. "Okay… I'll have the coffee ready." He said, forgetting the coffee was already in his hand.

After Sam left the house to help John, Dean stood there for another minute letting what he just heard sink in. His son and nephew were almost killed. He felt a lump in his throat the size of a golf ball. He took a breathe, headed into the kitchen and poured himself a large shot of whisky. He gulped it down before pouring himself a second one. When he was done, he sat down at the table and took a deep breath. He wanted to check on the boys, but he knew even seeing them would make him too angry, he needed to wait until morning to deal with them. He decided he needed some air, so he went to the front porch to wait for his dad and brother to come back. He sat in the old rocking chair, closed his eyes, and breathed in the crisp evening air. After about half an hour he heard two sets of footsteps coming toward the porch. He opened his eyes to see his dad and brother returning home.

John came up the steps first. "Great job babysitting tonight, son." John said, giving his son a light punch on the shoulder.

"Funny." Dean replied seriously. "What the hell happened tonight?"

"I don't know why the boys were there." Sam answered while heading into the house behind his dad. Dean followed. "All I know is I saw two kids about to be ripped to shreds so I emptied my gun into the thing. When we got him down and ran up to the body, we found the boys. One thing I do know," Sam added, "They were drinking tonight. They reeked of sweat and beer… You didn't know they were missing?"

Dean looked annoyed at this question. "Of course, I didn't know they were missing! You think if I knew they were missing I would have been hanging around here making coffee?"

"I can't believe you let them pull one over on you." Sam smirked trying to lighten the mood a little bit.

"Oh yeah, cause they've never snuck out on you before… I don't even know what to think." Dean said, pouring himself a large cup of coffee.

"I think," John chimed in, "that you got boys exactly like yourselves." He smiled.

"Funny, dad." Sam cut in. "We never did anything that stupid."

"Oh please, I remember you two thinking you could take on a hunt or two by yourselves when you were younger. I'm not saying that makes it ok, but tonight they're safe so just relax. Here," He poured three cups of coffee, "have a cup of joe and take a breath. We'll deal with them in the morning."

Sam took one cup and handed one to Dean who was downing another shot of whisky. The three men sat down and finished their coffee before heading to bed.
