Escape for the Children
As Bane made his way down the hall of inmates he started to unlock the doors and pass out keys to let the other inmates out. It wasn't long before the indoor recreational area was swarming with inmates. As Bane walked calmly through, It was a site of pure chaos. One inmate had started eating a guard's face, another was seen repeatedly stabbing a guard before carving a tally mark into his skin. Suddenly Bane saw a projectile coming at him in his peripherals. Wasting no time he simply leaned back a little and watched as a stream of red liquid flew past his face. But it didn't entirely miss, the tail nicked Bane on the tip of his nose. His nostrils flared as he took a smell, then stuck his tongue out and licked it off of his nose. His head snapped to the left where the liquid had come from.
"Condiment King!" Bane shouted
"I-i-i'm sorry Bane I didn't mean to. I swear, you know I wouldn't sauce you Bane'' Condiment King cowered before Bane on his knees. But it wasn't long before a man with a makeshift wingsuit flew in and planted both his feet into Condiment King's face.
"Kite Man! Hell yeah! Oh, Bane?! Exit's over there please don't hit me!" Kite Man pointed to a door across the room that was closed. "There are only a few guards who have the key to that door and I don't think they were in here, but you know if we could make it to the top of this building and build two ki-" Bane started walking towards the door again before Kite Man could finish telling his plan.
Once he got to the door he waited behind it and watched as the inmates, with no guards to fight, had now started fighting amongst themselves. The fools. So much potential wasted on pointless fighting. When the oppressed are fighting each other, they can not fight the oppressors. If they were to all join together the rest of the guards would stand no chance, but instead.
Bane stepped to the side of the door just before it burst open and they came pouring in with riot shields and started shooting tear gas into the crowd. As the last guard came through the door Bane jumped over the top and slipped through behind them unnoticed.
Out of nowhere, someone hit bane from the back with their whole body, sending them both tumbling to the ground. There was a loud clang when the heavy metal door closed behind them. Bane stood up first and turned around grabbing the man by the throat and lifting him into the air.
"Agh. Kite. Man. Help." He managed to sputter. "Don't. Kill. please." Bane dropped Kite Man and he hit the ground like a sack of potatoes with a gasp for air. "Hell yeah," he said with a wheeze. "Thank you so much for not killing me, and you know to pay you back I'll help you once we get out of here. You know me, always glad to… You know. What are we doing again?"
Bane just started walking away. "I am going to save the children." he said with emphasis on the I
"Oh sweet, there's nothing I love more than children" Bane stopped in his tracks and turned his head fast enough to give someone whiplash. "Woah, not like that big guy! You know this doesn't seem like you, a big bad guy doing something nice for the kids. Shouldn't you be trying to break Batman or take over Gotham or something?"
Bane started climbing up a ladder leading up into a tower. "Were you once a child?" was all bane said.
"I guess, but… You know whatever you're doing I am in it with you, let's go be good guys! Oh by the way there's an exit to the roof on your second right, can't miss it. We could get the flag from the top of the building, and I can make a makeshift kite to fly us out of here!" Bane kept silent as they made their way up the ladder to the second floor they could get to. "That other ladder at the end of this hall will take us to the rooftop."
Bane led the way up the ladder to a platform with a door. "Did you grab a key from one of those guards that came at the last second?" Bane put a foot against the wall, and two hands on the handle of the door. "I know you're strong and all, but you don't even have your venom and this is a pretty thick door. Maybe we shou-"
"I do not need venom!" Bane shouted. You could see every muscle in his body tense up as he ripped the door from its hinges and threw it down the ladder. The loud banging of the door drew attention, a guard looked up the ladder just to be crushed.
"Oof, ok buddy. Do, not, need, venom. Got it. Also do not look up ladders." Kite man said while pretending to write in a notebook. "Hey look up there the flag!" he said as he ran off towards a Gotham flag that was flying. Bane looked around at the surroundings, then followed Kite Man to the flag. He already had the kite down and looked to be making some folds on the cloth. "If only I had scissors! This is going to be a pain" He said as he started biting the edge of the flag.
Bane grabbed the flag and ripped it where he was trying to bite through. "Ha who needs scissors when Bane's around, am I right?" Bane just glared at Kite Man. "Got it, making kite." he said timidly as he started putting the cloth together. "Ok so this is technically a wingsuit, but we're going to call it a kite for the sake of my name. I need to get as high as possible to glide us out of here" Kite Man started to attempt climbing the flagpole but not with much success.
While Kite Man was up a few feet on the pole Bane stuck his head between his legs so he was piggyback riding Bane. Then Bane started to climb the pole with ease. "Now see this is why I should do pilates or something, look at you go. Alright, I think this is high enou-" Kite Man felt a hand around his ankle as he was pulled down from Bane's shoulders. The next thing he knew he was upside down, and then swinging back around. It was Bane! He grabbed Kite Man by the ankle and threw him up into the air. "Ahhhh!" Kite Man screamed as he flew up, but once he peaked he gained his sense of direction.
"Oh yeah hold on to your muscles big guy we're going for a ride!" He spiraled down and grabbed Bane off the top of the flagpole. They soared over the prison grounds below, the moon casting an odd shadow over the building. "And I swear. By the moon and the stars in the sk-oof!" Bane gave him a light punch to the leg. "Got it, no singing either. It is a beautif-oof. Shutting up" And with that, they glided to a patch of woods just outside of the prison where they made a rough landing.
