Awareness snapped back to the Lone Wanderer in an instant and yet her usually razor sharp mind was slow to process what she was seeing. The scenery had changed completely from where she had been, no longer was she in the virulent underchambers of the Dunwich building, now, instead she was in what looked like the centre of D.C; yet it was not the crumbling ruins of what had once been the capital of the United States of America that she was use too.

Racking her brain trying to remember what had happened before she had woken up here. She could recall sneaking through the ferals of the Dunwich building, thankfully avoiding all most most all of the combat thanks to her reinforced Chinese assault stealth suit she started using as her primary armour after she'd earned it from the Brotherhood outcasts; she'd then reached the very bottom of that haunted place and encountered the ghoulish revenant of Jaime Palabras.

Sloanes' memories became hazy once she remembered pressing the Krivbeknih to the obelisk, all she could recall was an inhuman monster in darkness followed by what seemed to be another presence, this one glowed like radiation and the Lone Wanderer could recall it talking either to her or about her. The only words she could remember were:

'I release your soul, and by my glow, guide thee'

The kid from 101 shook the memories from her mind, took several deep breaths and climbed to her feet.

Looking around and taking in her new surroundings, it seemed as though she was in a dead-end alley; 'maybe it's another vision' she thought to herself, and yet her eyesight wasn't blurred like it

had been when she'd seen the glowing one look like a man from before the great War.

Sloane continued to look around the alleyway she found herself in until she spotted her unique AER12 laser rifle, the Metal Blaster, a weapon she had earned with blood, sweat and steel during her 'stay' in the Pitt.

In a flash Sloane scooped up the Metal Blaster from where it lay and with a well practiced hand she checked that her rifle was still in working order, first by engaging the safety followed by removing and reinstalling the microfusion cell, the young woman was delightedly rewarded with the laser gently humming to life.

Content that her primary weapon was still in a decent condition she slung it across her back and started checking the rest of her equipment. First she checked her her combat vest, Sloane experienced a wave of relief as she found that she still had a total of ten fully charged MF cells. The Lone Wanderer then opened the bag that hung from her left thigh and counted her collection of stimpacks, rad-away and a bottle of aqua pura water, satisfied that she still had a decently stocked emergency kit. The last items she checked were the Electro Suppressor baton holster on her right hip and the Ritual Knife strapped onto the outside of her right shin.

Satisfied with the rest of her gear, the Lone Wanderer unslung her rifle and activated her suits stealth field; Sloane had learned a long time ago that the best way to avoid a fight was not to be seen, and began sneaking out of the alleyway. In less than a minute Sloane had reached the exit of the alleyway, the Lone Wanderer was surprised to see a road in perfect condition, especially compared to the roads she'd walk for the last couple years.

Looking left then right, the street seemed to be deserted, so she decided that the best thing to do to find out where she was was to find someone to question. The Vault dweller looked straight across from her current location and saw a store that seemed to be occupied.

Aiming her rife at the front of the shop, the kid from 101 looked to the sign above the door that read 'From Dust till Dawn'. Before the Lone Wanderer could even think about heading towards the store a body crashed through the window followed by a smaller figure that landed a short distance from the first. The small black and red kid, quickly got to their feet and removed a large box like object from their back and with a spin it unfolded into a large scythe like contraption, with a final twirl the kid slammed the weapon into the ground.

More people followed the first two outside of the store, two dressed like the first and one wearing a white suit that seemed to be the man in charge.

"Okayyy" the man in white said to his remaining henchmen "get her!"

Unfortunately for the goons the Lone Wanderer, with her rifle already aimed at them and acting on instinct, squeezed the trigger once - twice - three times and hit each of the black suits center mass with multiple laser beams from the Metal Blaster. The first two dropped to the ground like sacks of rocks, the third wasn't as lucky, as the beam struck him he disintegrated to ash.

The girl in black and red stood frozen in place, in either shock or awe the Wanderer didn't care which, as the man in white raised his cane and seemed to search for the source of the sneak attack on his henchmen.

Sloane shifted her aim to the ring leader and squeezed the trigger again, to her dismay nothing happened as the MF cell was out of charge. Quickly the Lone Wanderer ejected the spent cell and smoothly retrieved a fresh one and loaded it into the Metal Blaster. Before she could once again take aim at the man, he fired a ball of orange light from his cane, desperately she tried to move away from the line of fire but unfortunately the light moved faster than she could.

In what seemed like an instant, the glowing ball of light struck her in the chest and The Lone Wanderer was thrown into the air. The feeling of weightlessness lasted only a second and then she stopped suddenly, obviously hitting something harder than she was, the pain was over quickly as her vision went black and unconsciousness claimed the kid from the Vault.

A/N

So the Lone Wanderer first meeting is a fight, who'd of thunk it, not sure when I'll continue with this, so stay vigilant.
