A/N: Hey there, folks! I never thought I'd get the second chapter done this quickly, but here it is. Lisa's two colleagues arrive to assist her on this amazing discovery within the basement, but little do they know just what horrors are in store for them.

Chapter 2: Hell Breaks Loose

Dr. J and her two assistants unloaded the last of the science equipment into the basement as Lynn Jr and Luna helped Lisa bring the probe down the stairs. It had taken only an hour to unload Dr. J's van with the help of Lisa's sisters and parents. Two large computer stations had been set up on each side of the basement to monitor any activity inside the portal and receive data from Lisa's probe. When Lisa's colleagues arrived at the house just an hour ago, they weren't sure what to expect, but they had their minds blown when Lisa and Lucy showed them the portal in the basement. Dr. J and her assistants were absolutely ecstatic about this amazing discovery and even called it the most amazing event in the history of humanity.

"Man, this things heavy! Good thing lifting weights paid off" Lynn Jr panted as she and Luna made it to the bottom of the stairs with Lisa.

"Easy for you. I'm not as strong" Luna scoffed as she and Lynn set the probe down on the basement floor.

"Excellent work, siblings. I trust getting the probe down here wasn't too difficult?" Lisa asked.

"Nah, it wasn't too hard" Lynn replied.

"This thing looks like a Mars rover" Luna commented.

"That's because I modeled the probe after the Mars rover" Lisa replied.

"Uh, are these weapons of some sort? Lynn asked, pointing to the laser gun turrets attached to the front and back of the probe.

"Yes, they're for defending the probe against any hostile forces that might lurk beyond the portal. My colleagues have also brought along weapons of their own in case something dangerous comes out of the portal while we're studying it" Lisa explained.

"You don't think that'll happen, do you?" Luna asked worriedly.

"There's no way of really knowing since this portal leads into unknown territory, so we have to be prepared for anything" Lisa replied.

"Well, I just hope aliens don't come out of there and eat our brains" Lynn said.

"I doubt that'll happen" Lisa scoffed.

"Hey Lisa, the computer systems all set up! Is the probe ready?" Dr. J asked as she and her two assistants finished plugging in the power cords to the computer systems.

"I'll have it powered up in a few minutes. The probes control system is in my room, so I'll head up there and send the probe through. Once the probes in, it'll transmit live footage of its finding to you three on your computer terminals. I'll observe your activity from my home security cameras in my room" Lisa explained.

"Will we be able to see what the probe sees from your room too, Lisa?" Lynn asked.

"Unfortunately no. The probes' visual and audio recording systems are carried through on another channel, which means I'd have to switch off my security cameras in order to switch channels" Lisa replied.

"So I take it these computer terminals down here will record the footage from the probe?" Luna wondered.

"Yes, and Dr. J and her two assistants will be monitoring all of it. Once the recording is done, I'll call the probe back through the portal. It'll have a very long cable attached to it that goes from down here and all the way up to the computer in my room upstairs. This will allow the probe to receive commands from me beyond our dimension" Lisa replied.

"Ah, so that's what that long black cord thing is I saw running down the stairs and into here" Lynn commented, glancing at the long black cord on the floor going up the stairs and out into the house.

"Yes, and now to plug it in," Lisa picked up the end of the cord and plugged it into a connector in the back of the probe and screwed it in to secure it. "The probe is now connected to the computer upstairs".

"Good! You ready now?" Dr. J asked.

"Yes, I'll just leave you guys these headsets so that you can communicate with me upstairs while I'm in my room piloting the probe. Also, make sure you keep your weapons with you at all times in case something dangerous comes out of the portal" Lisa said, then reached over onto a small shelf with three headsets on it.

They had headphones and microphones on them which would allow Dr. J and her assistants to communicate with Lisa while she was upstairs. Lisa handed them to Dr. J and the two other scientists who put them on.

"We're all set, Lisa. And don't worry, we've got a few handguns with us and extra ammo clips in case something dangerous emerges from the portal" Dr. J informed.

"Alright, I'll head up to my room and send the probe through" Lisa replied.

"Nice! I can't wait to see what's on the other side of that portal! This could make us all famous!" Dr. J exclaimed in excitement.

"Hopefully so" Lisa replied, then headed up the stairs with Lynn and Luna following behind her.

"This is gonna be awesome! I wonder what's on the other side" Lynn wondered.

"We'll know soon enough" Luna replied.

The three girls made their way out of the basement, up the stairs, and into Lisa's room where their parents and other siblings were waiting for them. Lily was currently sitting in Lisa's chair where her laptop sat.

"I'll man the helm from here on, youngest sibling" Lisa said, lifting Lily off the chair and onto the floor.

"So how's this gonna work, Lisa? We all gonna see what the probe sees?" Lana asked curiously.

"No, the probe will be transmitting the footage it records to the computer terminals in the basement. We'll be watching the show from the security cameras," Lisa replied. "I simply need to send the probe through the portal, then it'll start transmitting data. Dr. J and her assistants will then inform me what they're seeing".

"You sure this probes not gonna blow up or anything, right?" Rita asked nervously.

"Unless it enters a dimension with severe hazards or any other area with destructive forces, then no. I've modified the probe to handle temperatures below freezing and even up to as hot as a star, so it shouldn't suffer any serious damage" Lisa informed.

"I meant when you power it up" Rita corrected.

"I've already test run it in my room a few hours ago, and it runs smoothly. There's nothing to worry about" Lisa assured Rita.

She then switched the security camera feeds on and selected the camera's in the basement. On the laptop screen, Dr. J and her two assistants could be seen at their computer terminals with their headsets on and awaiting Lisa's instructions. The probe sat in the middle of the basement facing the portal. Lisa then put her own headset on and tapped the microphone to test it.

"Can you hear me, Dr. J? You too, assistants?" Lisa said.

"Yeah, we hear you" the two male scientists replied.

"Same here" Dr. J replied.

"Alright, I'm powering up the probe now" Lisa informed them.

She then tapped a few commands on her laptop, then a set of headlights on the front of the probe turned on.

"The probes all powered up and ready. You should be receiving footage from its camera and microphones now" Lisa reported.

On the security camera footage, the screens on the computer terminals could be seen switching on to show what the probe was seeing.

"Yep, we're receiving a live feed from the probe, and the microphones are working well too" Dr. J informed.

"Alright, then it's time for the moment we've all been waiting for. I'll send the probe through the portal and we'll finally see what lies on the other side. This will hopefully be a moment that will make history" Lisa replied proudly.

"We're ready, Lisa" one of the male scientists replied.

"Then let us begin" Lisa said, then typed in the commands on her laptop.

Lisa, her family, and the scientists all watched as the probe slowly moved towards the portal. As it got closer though, the security camera screen flickered a few times, and Lisa noticed that this appeared to have happened to the computer terminals in the basement as well.

"The screens flickering" Lola pointed out.

"I'm aware. I'm sure it's just radio interference. It should subside once the probes through the portal" Lisa replied.

Everyone watched with intensity as the probe got closer and closer to the portal, but Lucy was a bit more nervous than anyone else. She wasn't scared of course, but slightly unsettled. While Lucy knew that history was probably about to be made, she couldn't shake that gut feeling that told her something very bad was going to happen. Maybe it was her instincts, or just her curiosity of the unknown. It was always said that the unknown was more frightening than anything else, but Lucy had always been used to this, so it would take more than the fear of the unknown to actually scare her. Soon the probe began to enter the portal, the front of it slowly vanishing. The security camera feed was flickering a lot more than before now, but the computer screens on the terminals in the basement were suffering the worst. Once the probe fully entered the portal, the screens on the computer terminals went black, and an error message showed up on them saying the probes visual transmission was offline. The audio feed seemed to be offline as well, because nothing could be heard on the other end.

"Lisa, we lost contact with the probe. We're not getting a live feed from the camera's" Dr. J informed.

"Hang on, it's probably a minor error. Let me check the probes status" Lisa replied.

"What happened? Why did the probes camera shut off?" Lincoln wondered.

Lisa checked the probes status and noticed that all of its other systems were still online, all except the camera and audio feeds; they were both red and said "ERROR".

"Hmm, all the other systems are working, so I don't understand why the probe's camera and microphone isn't responding. I'll try adjusting the frequency" Lisa said, then started typing on the laptop's keyboard.

As she adjusted the probes signal frequency, the camera and microphone status changed from red to green, which then said "ONLINE".

"Alright, the camera and microphone should be working now. How's it going for you three down-?" Lisa started, but suddenly stopped when something unexpected happened.

The security camera screen erupted into static and turned black. A message then appeared in the center of the screen that said, "UNKNOWN VISUAL TRANSMISSION ERROR DETECTED. AUDIO AVAILABLE ONLY".

"What the?! What's going on with the security cameras?" Luna exclaimed.

"I'm not sure. I'll to see if I can-" Lisa was suddenly cut off by the sound of blood curdling screams suddenly erupting from the basement, but that wasn't all that could be heard.

There were other horrible sounds coming out of the speakers of the laptop, sounds that definitely weren't human. The screams everyone heard over the security camera's audio feed were of pain, agony, and terror. The screams were so loud that Lisa had to turn the volume on her laptop down along with her headphones to avoid being further assaulted by the horrible ear rape she was receiving. Dr. J and her assistants could suddenly be heard screaming in pure terror as well, and this struck fear into the hearts of the entire Loud family. Even Lucy herself was slightly shaken by it. Never before had any of them heard screams like this before, and they could tell it wasn't just the scientists who were screaming. The screams were coming from the live feed sent from the probe. They sound primal, surreal, and terrifying. The screams were of what sounded like millions of men and women, all screaming and pleading in pure agony. It was like the sound of Hell itself.

"L-Lisa! What the hell is going on?!" Lori literally yelled.

"I don't know! Dr. J, what's going on?! What are you seeing?! Respond!" Lisa called out over her headset.

The only response she got was screaming from the other end, followed by the sound of gunshots ringing out, but that wasn't all. Lisa and the rest of the family heard what sounded like a loud animalistic roar burst out from the speakers, followed by more gunshots. They had no idea what had made that sound, but it was definitely something not of this world.

"NOOO! END THIS! END IT! MAKE IT STOP!" Dr. J screamed in blind primal terror.

Then the sound of flesh slicing and blood splattering could be heard, followed by more screams and gunshots.

"Did something come through the portal?! What the hell's that noise?!" Lynn Sr yelled, now panicking.

Lola and Lana were now huddled in the corner of Lisa's room, whimpering in fear. Lily was sobbing as Rita tried to calm her down, and as for Lucy, she retreated into the vents in fear. Normally, Lucy wouldn't be scared of something like this since she had seen many horror films with similar sounds, but this was far different. She couldn't see what was making those horrible noises on the other side, and those screams sounded more terrifying and primal than Lucy had ever heard in her life. Not being able to see what the source of the screams and the snarling noises made it twice as horrifying. For the first time in her life, Lucy was scared. What horrible curse had she brought upon this house and those innocent scientists? She didn't know, and almost didn't want to find out, but she had to know. Lucy had to know what was going on in the basement, so she began crawling through the vents towards the air duct leading to the basement, scared of what she'd find on the other end.

"P-please! Make it stop, Lisa! This is so frightening!" Luna begged.

"I'm trying! Believe me, I'm trying!" Lisa replied in a tone laced with fear.

As she tapped ruthlessly at the keys on her laptop trying to get the security cameras visual feed back on, the sounds of unintelligible voices could be heard speaking over the audio feed from the cameras. Whoever it was certainly didn't sound like the scientists. The voice was a deep, male voice that sounded very low pitched and almost demonic. No one could make out what the voice was saying. It was definitely not english, and it sounded almost alien. The sounds of loud, echoing moans could now be heard over the screams as well, accompanied by what sounded like a man pleading in a foreign language. To who or what he was pleading to, no one knew.

"I can't take this anymore!" Lori stammered, running out of the room in fear.

Leni followed her out of the room as well, looking just as frightened as Lori. As Lisa frantically began trying to restore the visual feed to the security cameras, she heard Dr. J screaming and pleading for her life. She then began yelling various unintelligible pleas at whoever was attacking her, then the sound of gunshots could be heard, followed by what sounded like a roar of agony from some unknown creature. A loud booming crash could be heard, then the house briefly shook violently for a few seconds.

"LISA! MAKE IT STOP! PLEASE! MAKE IT STOP!" Dr. J screamed and pleaded.

"What's happening?! I can't see what's going on! PLEASE RESPOND!" Lisa practically screamed.

"MAKE IT STOP!" Dr. J screamed.

"That's it! I'm calling the probe back!" Lisa yelled, hitting a red button on her laptop.

A few seconds later, the probe quickly returned to the basement and Lisa hit the emergency shut off command button on her laptop. The probes status instantly went to "OFFLINE" and the security cameras visual feed suddenly came back on, showing a view of the basement, but nothing could have prepared the Loud family for what nightmarish sight lay before their very eyes. The basement, looking just normal minutes ago, now looked like a scene right out of a graphic horror film. The floors and some of the walls were covered in blood and pieces of gore, one of the male scientists was missing, and the other one was dead. He had been completely mauled and torn to shreds with the lower part of his body now completely gone with entrails spilled out on the floor. Dr. J was laying against the wall covered in blood, now missing her right leg. She simply stared ahead with an expression completely devoid of all emotion, as if life no longer had any meaning for her.

A handgun lay beside Dr. J, covered in blood. The computer terminals had been knocked over, their screens cracked yet still functional by some miracle. The most noticeable thing that Lisa and her family noticed was the huge hole in the side of the basement wall. It led straight through the cement wall, into the ground and upwards to the outside world. The hole was enormous, almost big enough for a car to fit through, and the family also noticed what looked like large claw marks on the walls and floor. These claw marks were huge and didn't look like they could be made by even the largest jungle cat or bear on Earth. The big question was who made them, and where was the second male scientist? The pentagram on the wall had been untouched and was still glowing bright red like before.

"MY GOD! DR. J!" Lisa cried out in absolute horror.

She quickly threw her headset off, grabbed a laser gun from inside a hidden drawer in her desk and rushed out of the room.

"LISA, NO!" Rita yelled as Lisa ran into the hallway and down the stairs.

"I'm going after her" Lynn Sr said, starting towards the door.

"Are you crazy?! Do you see that basement?! It's a bloodbath down there!" Rita snapped, looking completely panicked.

"But someone has to stop her" Lynn Sr protested frantically.

"YOU FOOL! What if that…. whatever that "thing" that killed those scientists is still there?! You could both be killed" Rita snapped.

"Then I'll go!" Lynn Jr said, rushing out of the room.

"No! Lynn, come back!" Luna yelled.

"LYNN JR, COME BACK HERE, RIGHT NOW!" Rita yelled, but Lynn was already out the door and rushing down the stairs.

Lori and Leni came out of their room upon hearing all the commotion.

"What's going on? What happened?" Lori called out, rushing over to Lisa and Lily's room.

"Yeah, did the screaming stop?" Leni wondered.

Meanwhile downstairs, Lisa rushed over to the basement door and slowly opened it, then the horrid stench of blood hit her. Lisa already knew what she was in for after seeing it on the security cameras, but she had to get down there to find out just what happened. Lisa kept her laser gun raised, ready to shoot whatever had attacked Dr. J and the other scientist. She had no idea what she was dealing with, and honestly didn't want to find out, but Lisa wasn't taking any chances. She set the laser guns attack setting to lethal force as she slowly walked down the stairs into the horrible nightmare below. As soon as Lisa reached the bottom of the stairs, she was greeted to the most horrifying, nightmarish sight she had ever seen in her life. Despite already seeing the terrible gory sight on the cameras, seeing the carnage up close was even more terrifying. There was blood all over the basement, and the dead body of the male scientist lay near the wall near the portal, his lower half completely gone. Lisa noticed a few bullet holes in the wall and ceiling as well, and in the far left corner of the basement was the huge hole that she had seen on the security cameras. It went forward several feet underground before heading straight up, dimly lit from the sunlight up above ground.

Lisa then turned to see Dr. J still slumped against the wall with her right leg missing. From what she could tell, it looked as if it had been crudely slashed off above the knee, but who it was behind this was currently unknown. Dr. J had lost a heavy amount of blood and Lisa noticed a few slash marks on her chest which turned her white lab coat red with blood. And just as she had seen in the security cameras, Dr. J simply stared straight ahead as if completely lost in thought. Her expression was completely devoid of all emotion and logic, which scared Lisa quite badly. Just moments ago, Dr. J had been screaming in blind terror and calling for help, and now, she looked like a dead, emotionless husk. Lisa glanced over to the damaged computer terminals and wondered just what it was the scientists had seen that drove them to this level of madness. But several more questions came to mind as well. Where was the third scientist, and just who or what made those claw marks and that hole in the wall? Had something come out of the portal and caused all the carnage once the probe went through? Had it eaten the third scientist? Lisa had no way of knowing, at least not yet. She turned to Dr. J and saw her chest moving up and down slowly, letting her know that she was still alive. Lisa hoped that the female scientist still had the strength to speak, because she was probably the only one who had any answers as to what happened during the time Lisa's security cameras lost visual transmission.

"D-Dr. J?" Lisa stammered, slowly approaching the gravely injured scientist.

Lisa saw Dr. J's eyes move to face her, but she didn't move her body even an inch. It was clear that she was still able to acknowledge Lisa, but she didn't say anything. Lisa tried hiding the fear that had been practically overflowing at this point, but it was almost impossible. Although Lisa had trained herself to control her emotions, this was something that she had never been prepared for. What should have been history in the making had turned into a nightmarish bloodbath, and Lisa had no idea who or what had caused it.

"W-what happened? W-who…. who did this to you?" Lisa stammered, trembling in fear.

As she asked this question, she heard something rattle in the air shaft just under the basement stairs. Lisa glanced in the direction of the noise, then back at Dr. J, who had now slowly turned her head to face Lisa.

"Dr. J?" she said, awaiting a reply.

The female scientist appeared to be trying to say something, but was having a hard time doing so. Lisa felt a deep sorrow for this woman. She couldn't understand what could possibly reduce a bright, intelligent, cheerful scientist to a near dead husk like this. Lisa had to get to the bottom of this.

"What did you see on that screen? What was on the other side of that portal?" Lisa asked in a frantic tone, desperate for answers.

Dr. J still said nothing.

"Please! Say something! Where's the third scientist?! What made that hole in the wall?! PLEASE! SPEAK TO ME!" Lisa practically pleaded, nearly on the verge of a breakdown.

Not having any luck, Lisa decided to check the computer terminals herself to see just what the probe had recorded from the other side of that portal. As she began heading towards the terminal however, Lisa felt a strong grip grab her by the arm, stopping her in her tracks. She spun around and saw that it was Dr. J grabbing her, and her expression was now that of pure terror and fear.

"VOS NON SINUNT PONI IN VISIBILIBUS IN INFERNO, NE TIBI IRAM IN FACIEM SATANAS!" Dr. J screamed in a raspy voice, except not in English.

Lisa felt her heart sink when she heard that. She was well skilled with foreign languages, and Lisa instantly recognized this language to be Latin.

"MY GOD! WHAT HAPPENED IN HERE?!" a terrified voice screamed; it was Lori.

Lisa glanced up at the basement stairs to see Lori gazing down at the carnage in horror. When Leni followed in behind Lori and saw the bloodbath, she screamed in blind terror and ran out of the basement. Lynn Jr then rushed inside to see Dr. J gripping Lisa tightly.

"Hey, take your hands off her!" Lynn yelled, rushing towards the scientist.

Upon noticing Lynn, Dr. J let go of Lisa and pointed at her, making Lynn stop in confusion.

"Li… Li" Dr. J rasped.

"W-what is it? What are you trying to say?" Lynn demanded, still freaked out by everything that had happened so far.

Dr. J's hand trembled as she inhaled weakly, then spoke in a slow, raspy voice.

"Libera Te… Tutemet… Ex Inferis" the scientist rasped.

"What?! What the hell does that mean?!" Lynn stammered, not understanding a word she just heard.

"LIBERA TE TUTEMET EX INFERIS!" Dr. J suddenly shouted, her body shaking uncontrollably.

She then grabbed her head with both hands, shaking her head and screaming the same Latin phrase again and again, clearly having lost her sanity.

"Lisa, what the hell is she saying?!" Lori yelled.

Lisa was too terrified to even answer. Dr. J repeated the same Latin phrase several more times, then Lisa, Lynn, and Lori watched in horror as the scientist grabbed the gun laying near her, placed it under her chin and blasted her brains out. The loud bang that erupted throughout the basement made the girls ears ring, then a large amount of blood and brain matter splattered all over the wall and ceiling behind Lisa. Some of the blood ended up splattering all over Lisa's hair, shirt, and glasses as well.

Lynn backed away in absolute horror and Lori screamed in terror and ran out of the basement. As for Lisa, she could no longer contain her emotions. What should have been a historic event in the history of science had turned into a nightmarish bloodbath, and now Lisa's three close colleagues were now dead. One of them was missing, the other one had been mauled to pieces by some unknown creature, and Dr. J had just committed suicide right before Lisa's eyes. The basement was now a sight straight out of Hell, and Lisa was terrified beyond belief, terrified by the unknown forces that had brought forth these horrid events. Lisa ran out of the basement faster than ever, screaming in pure blind terror. She had to get out of that basement, out of that hellish sight, but that portal was still open.

"We have to close the portal! Something else might come out! But how do we close it?! Just what the hell are we dealing with?!" Lisa thought in horror as she ran up the stairs and back into her room where her parents and other siblings still were.

"Lisa, what's happening?! You alright?! We heard a gunshot in the basement!" Rita asked frantically as Lisa ran under Lily's crib, trembling violently.

"D-Dr. J… she… she's dead! They're all dead!" Lisa stammered, tears visible in her eyes.

"Dead?!" Lola and Lana exclaimed in horror.

Lori, Lynn Jr, and Leni then rushed into the room, looking absolutely terrified.

"It's horrible! That scientist blew her own brains out after shouting something in another language" Lynn said, panting in fear.

"What? What was she saying?" Lynn Sr asked.

"We have no idea," Lynn Jr replied. "Whatever it was though, I don't wanna know".

Lynn Sr turned to Lisa, who was still trembling and trying to get over the shock of everything that she had witnessed in the basement.

"Lisa, what happened? Who's behind all this?" he asked her, trying not to sound harsh but he was just as scared as everyone else.

"I… I don't k-know. Dr. J didn't say. She just kept saying stuff in Latin and then shot herself," Lisa replied, still shaking. "We… we have to close that portal! Whoever killed those scientists escaped. It's out there somewhere!".

"What?! What's out there?" Luna demanded.

"I don't know! I don't know what it was," Lisa snapped. "But whatever it was, it killed the scientists and dug its way out of the house, and now it's out there somewhere in the public doing God knows what!".

"No! We have to do something about it!" Leni said, even more horrified.

"What could we possibly do, Leni?! We have no idea what that thing is! Hell, we don't even know what it looks like! The camera's visual feed went dead the second Lisa got the probe working again, so all we got was sound recordings of the whole thing!" Lori snapped.

"Well, whatever that "thing" is, I don't wanna know what it looks like" Lincoln said.

Lola and Lana, still huddled in the corner of the room, glanced around in confusion.

"Hey, where's Lucy?" Lana asked in confusion.

"Yeah, did she run out of the room?" Lola wondered, looking around the room.

"Lucy gone?" Lily asked, once again sitting in Lisa's computer chair.

She had been minding her own business and not paying attention to most of the drama going on, but when she heard the twins mentioning the absence of their goth sibling, this had gotten Lily's attention. Rita and Lynn Sr looked around and realized Lucy was indeed not in the room, then Lori noticed the air vent to Lisa and Lily's room was open.

"Guys? I think Lucy went into the vents" Lori pointed out.

Upon hearing that, Lisa's eyes widened in shock. She remembered that when she was still in the basement, she had heard the air shaft rattling right before Dr. J had gone crazy. Lisa hadn't been sure as to what had made the noise in the vents at the time, but upon hearing Lori mentioning her vent open, she realized just who had made that noise in the basement vents.

"Oh no," Lisa exclaimed in horror, climbing out from under Lily's crib. "I heard the vents rattling when I was in the basement. I think… I think it might have been…".

Everyone in the room exchanged looks of shock, realizing what Lisa was implying.

"Oh god, no!" Rita gasped in shock.

Lynn Sr started towards the door, but Rita stopped him.

"No! It's too dangerous! What if whatever that thing was that killed those scientists is still there!" she scolded harshly.

"It wasn't there when Lisa, Lynn, Lori, and Leni went down there" Lynn Sr protested.

"It might have decided to return after they left the basement" Rita shot back.

"Aren't the security cameras still on? We can just check those" Leni pointed out.

Lisa walked over to her laptop and remembered that she had closed the security camera footage app by mistake upon running down into the basement earlier. Upon moving Lily out of her chair, Lisa checked the app and noticed that she hadn't actually closed it; it had been minimized. She opened the app and was once again greeted to that horrible grisly scene in the basement, only this time, no one was alive. Dr. J was now laying on the floor, completely lifeless with a large bullet hole in the top of her head, and the probe was now covered in her blood. No one else seemed to be there, and thankfully, whatever had killed the scientists hadn't returned either.

"No one's there, everyone…. everyone's dead," Lisa said sorrowfully. "I'll go down there myself and see if Lucy's alright".

"I'll go with her," Lynn Jr offered. "Lucy's my roommate, so it's only natural that I should help out too".

Lynn Sr and Rita glanced at each, then nodded.

"Just be careful. We don't know what we're dealing with, and I'm so afraid that something else might come through that portal" Rita said nervously.

"We'll keep our guard up for anything unusual" Lisa assured, clutching her laser gun tightly.

The two siblings then rushed out of Lisa's room, down the stairs, and towards the basement stairs.

"I really didn't want to have to go back down there, but if Lucy's in trouble, someone's gotta do it" Lynn said in an unsettled tone.

"Just keep your eyes open for any activity from the portal. We don't know what else might come out of it" Lisa warned as the two of them descended the stairs.

They soon reemerged in the blood covered basement, the dead bodies of Dr. J and the other scientist still present. The portal was still there as well, glowing bright red. Lisa and Lynn made sure to stay as far away from it as they could, not wanting to risk getting dragged in by something from the other side. The probe still sat parked in the middle of the basement, seemingly undamaged, except for being covered in blood. Lisa wondered just what it was the probe had seen on the other side of that portal, and she wondered just what sort of creature was responsible for the carnage all over the basement. That was also something that began to ebb at Lisa's mind. She realized that the security cameras had lost all visual contact the second she had rebooted the probe's audio and visual transmissions, and in that time the probe had been recording whatever was on the other side of the portal, all Hell had broken loose in the basement. Lisa found it odd that the probe hadn't been damaged, not so much as even a scratch, except for the blood splattered on it.

"Why wasn't the probe damaged like the other equipment in the basement? If something from the other side of the portal came through, why didn't it destroy the probe?" Lisa thought.

She had no answers to any of her theories, at least not yet. Lisa planned to get to the bottom of all this after finding Lucy. She hoped Lucy hadn't been hurt by whatever killed the scientists, but she wouldn't know for sure until she found her.

"This is so messed up," Lynn said, visibly sick. "Just what do you suppose did all this?".

"I have no answers to your question," Lisa replied. "But I intend to get to the bottom of all this once we find Lucy".

The two sisters then heard what sounded like whimpering coming from the basement vent under the stairs. Lisa and Lynn quickly rushed over to the vent and pulled it open, and what they found shocked them to their cores.

"Good God! Lucy!" Lisa gasped in shock.

"Sis!" Lynn exclaimed, just as shocked as Lisa.

Inside the vent, Lucy lay on her side in a fetal position, her skin as white as a sheep's wool. She was whimpering softly and trembling like crazy, but that wasn't all Lisa and Lynn saw. They saw what looked like vomit all over Lucy's black shirt, and she had clearly soiled herself from seeing whatever had gone down in the basement. This was a sight almost just as disturbing as the gruesome scene in the basement. Never in their lives had Lisa and Lynn seen Lucy this terrified before. Trying to scare Lucy was almost impossible under normal circumstances, but this was far different. Lisa and Lynn realized that Lucy must have witnessed everything that had gone done in the basement, which meant she'd be their only hope of finding out just what had happened. The security cameras had gone dark once the probes camera came online, so there was no way for anyone to know what exactly happened in the basement.

"Lucy! You alright? Say something" Lynn begged, reaching her hand into the vent to pull Lucy out.

However, Lucy aggressively slapped her hand away and glared at Lynn in a threatening manner. Her hair had also parted enough to where her eyes were visible, and they were bloodshot with what Lisa and Lynn could only describe as an expression of pure terror and insanity. They also noticed that Lucy was actually crying blood, and this horrified them. Streaks of bloody tears ran down Lucy's face as she trembled and whimpered, while still glaring at Lynn.

"My God! Lucy, what's happened to you?!" Lynn exclaimed in absolute horror, backing away from the vent.

Lucy didn't respond. She just continued to tremble as Lisa tried reaching in to try and comfort the frightened goth sibling.

"Lucy, you need to come out of there. You need help," Lisa urged, reaching into the vent. "Please, come out".

Like before however, Lucy reached out and violently pushed Lisa's hand away, but Lisa didn't relent.

"Lucy, why are you doing that? We're trying to help," Lisa questioned worriedly. "It's not safe down here".

Lucy clenched her teeth and growled aggressively as Lisa reached back into the vent, this time scratching Lisa's hand. Lisa cried out in pain as Lucy scratched her, breaking skin and drawing blood.

"NO ONE IS SAFE, YOU FOOLS!" Lucy suddenly shouted.

"What the?!" Lynn exclaimed in horror.

"Lucy, what are you saying?! Just what's going on?! You've got to tell me, please!" Lisa pleaded.

Lisa backed away in fright at Lucy's sudden outburst, clenching the back of her hand that had been scratched. Lucy then pointed a trembling finger at the portal, glaring at it with those insane bloodshot eyes.

"Aperientur portae inferi. Omnes viae hominum patent modo per Diabolus est misericordiae!" Lucy hissed in Latin.

"What the hell? What does that mean? It sounds like gibberish" Lynn inquired.

"No," Lisa replied, now shaking with fear. "It's not. She was speaking in Latin, just like Dr. J".

"Latin? I had no idea Lucy knew that language," Lynn said. "Do you have any idea what she was saying?".

Lisa nodded fearfully, then said, "I don't know if I'm right, but if what I heard is accurate, I believe what she said translates to, "The gates of Hell have been opened. Humans are now at the devil's mercy!".
