Currently former Navy SEAL Jaune Arc had a lot of questions in his mind.
Who tried to have him killed?
What was the mysterious white hallway with all the doors?
Who was that orange dude with the horns?
How did he end up in a forest in the middle of the night with creatures straight out of a kid's nightmare?
These questions would have to be answered later as Jaune was currently fighting for his life against these creatures that look like they were wolves... only they could stand up on two legs like a werewolf!
"Man what did I ever do in a past life to deserve this!"exclaimed Jaune as he avoided one of the creatures claws as the creature tried to swipe his face off.
Jaune acted quickly and pulled out one of his katanas and without a moment of hesitation cut the creatures arm clean off with one swing causing it great pain.
That is when Jaune noticed that instead of the creature bleeding smoke started to come out of its wound.
"Okay I have more questions than answers at this point."said Jaune to himself to make sure he made a mental note of that in case he ever ran into more of those creatures.
The second werewolf creature meanwhile use the opportunity to try to launch at Jaune with it's jaws but the former Navy SEAL simply pulled out his other katana and did a 360 degree motion cutting the creature's head clean off.
This appeared to stop the creature as it's body moved for a few seconds as smoke came out of the wound before it collapsed to the floor still and lifeless.
"Okay so these things still die if you cut on vital places like a normal creature... good to know!"said Jaune as the werewolf like creature whose hand he cut off earlier tried to attack him again.
Jaune wasted no moment and cut the creature in a x shaped pattern cutting its limbs and part of its upper torso clean off.
This stopped the creature in its tracks as it fell to the floor and appeared to die as smoke came out of all the wounds it sustained.
"Man this is crazy first I end up in some hallway with a giant orange dude with horns and now I'm being attacked by creatures of darkness?! I got to find shelter cuz I have a feeling those things are small fries compared to whatever else is out there."said Jaune who began looking around trying to find anything to act a shelter.
"Perhaps I can be of assistance."said a male voice getting Jaune's attention as he turned towards where he heard the sound of the voice.
There standing a few feet away from him was a middle-aged male with long uncut black hair and he appeared to have an eye patch over his right eye. The mysterious man's attire consisted of a white you could tell that look like it has seen it's better days along with a black hakama for pants. He also appear to have a red haori tied around his waist.
"Who are you?"said Jaune as he put away his katanas but kept them at the ready in case the mysterious individual tried something.
"Ah yes how long has it been since I've seen that bloodlust... come European I bet you want to get away from those Grimm before more of them show up."said the mysterious stranger getting Jaune's attention.
"Grimm?"
"That's what I heard they're called with those you just fought being specifically called beowolve's. I also heard that they're dead bodies seem to attract more though I'm not sure about that either way we should get out of here."said mysterious stranger with Jaune letting out a breath of frustration as he knew whoever this was he was technically right.
Jaune decided then and there to reluctantly follow the mysterious stranger as last thing he wanted was more of those creatures showing up as it was already hard enough taking out two of them he can only imagine how hard a whole pack would be.
A short while later Jaune and the mysterious stranger went into a cave which the mysterious stranger closed with a large rock using a rope and some oil to make the rock move easier.
Once they were in complete darkness Jaune instantially went for his katanas until the light of a fire allowed him to see once more.
"What did you think I was going to attack you in the dark I can't exactly see myself in the dark idiot."said the mysterious stranger revealing himself to been the one start the fire by clacking two rocks together until a spark was ignited.
"You still haven't answered my question who are you?!"asked Jaune once more.
"What you haven't heard of me well I guess the exaggeration of my death will do that to people European!"said the mysterious stranger as a grin formed on his face.
"I and the man closest to conquering all of Japan I am Oda Nobunaga!"exclaimed the mysterious man identify him himself as the most famous warlord from Japan.
"Are you crazy! Oda Nobunaga died at the Honno-ji temple in 1587 and that was over four hundred years ago!"said Jaune who had heard the name Oda Nobunaga before in his history class and from his uncle Kenji when he was spending his summers in Japan.
"Four hundred years ago?! But it's only been a few weeks since that traitor Mitsuhide tried to have me killed!"said Nobunaga, shocked by the revelation he has been away from Japan for over four hundred years.
"I will admit you look like the man from the paintings I saw but there's no way you're him!"said Jaune who saw a resemblance but he wouldn't believe that a man who died over four hundred years ago was now sitting in front of him.
"I don't know how it happened kid but I remember it like it was yesterday."said Nobunaga as he began recalling the tale how he ended up here.
[Flashback]
Nobunaga and a few of his most trusted cohorts were running through Honno-ji temple as it was set on fire by Mitsuhide's forces. Nobunaga was running with anything he could carry as he was trying to avoid getting burned alive.
"Mitsuhide you bastard I swear I will make you commit seppuku when I see you again!"yelled Nobunaga as he was running straight into a door not noticing a white light.
Soon you found himself in a hallway with a bunch of different doors with a strange looking orange man with horns telling him something before he was thrown into one of the doors.
[Flashback End]
"And that's how it happened one moment I'm this close to death the next moment I'm in some hallway with an orange man with horns and now I'm here."said Nobunaga as he finished his tail wondering what was going on.
"Wait did you say an orange man with horns?!"asked Jaune making sure he heard him correctly.
"Yeah a man who was completely orange and had horns brought me here. I'm assuming he's the one who brought you here as well?"inquired Nobunaga.
"Yeah someone tried to kill me and as I was running I ended up in that hallway with all those doors and I saw him. He called me a Drifter and then sent me here."said Jaune as he wondering what the heck was going on.
"Looks like you were in the same boat with me European cuz that's what he called me too."
"Okay I'm not a European I'm an American from the United States of America and I have a name it's Jaune."said Jaune angered that he kept getting called European over and over again when he had a name.
"What's the United States of America?"asked Nobunaga.
"Oh you're from the United States?"asked a voice from the dark side of the cave.
"Oh Soji you know what this guy is talking about?"asked Nobunaga as another male came out of the darkness.
This mail was younger than Nobunaga and he had his hair in a tied in a high ponytail. He was wearing a black you can talk with a grey hakama. His haori was blue with white triangles on the sleeves and around his neck was a checkered scarf wrapped neatly around his neck.
He also had a katana strapped onto his waist.
"Who are you and why are you wearing the uniform of the Shinsengumi?"asked Jaune who recognize that haori as being the uniform of the special police force from Kyoto during the 19th century.
"That's because I am a member of the Shinsengumi. In fact I'm the captain of the first squad Okita Soji."said the man identifying himself as the famous swordsman of the Shinsengumi.
"Oh come on this is getting ridiculous! I mean sure there is no existing photo of Okita Soji but there's no way you're him! After all on july nineteen,1968 in Edo from tuberculosis!"said Jaune who had heard about the famous commander of the first unit of the Shinsengumi and knew everything about him.
"But like you and Nobunaga American I met the mysterious orange man with the horns and ever since I arrived on this planet my tuberculosis feels like it's completely gone."said Soji as he held his chest as his breathing has been easier ever since he arrived on wherever they were.
"Okay clearly something magical is taking place here. I honestly wouldn't believe it if it didn't happen to me first hand."said Jaune as he rubbed his temples.
"Okay I'll give you guys the benefit of the doubt and believe you guys are who you say you are, allow me to introduce myself. I am Jaune Arc and that's spelled JAUNE. I am a former member of the American Navy."said Jaune who decided to politely introduce himself.
"The Navy so you battle the board ships or something?"asked Nobunaga.
"You can say something like that although it's classified."said Jaune who was sworn the secrecy after he retired from the Navy.
"Impressive Jaune I'm really impressed with you and I can tell by the way you use those sores earlier that you're good!"said Soji who was honestly impressed.
"Why are you being so nice to me your group tried to stop Japan from opening its borders."said Jaune.
"Yes but I never hated the Americans at all I have no reason to hate individuals. I only hate the leaders who pushed everything."said Soji who had no reason to hate Jaune just because he was American.
"Wow...Well do you two know where we are and what we're doing here cuz that orange guy with the horns didn't exactly say anything."said Jaune who wanted to know why they were all speaking the same tongue but figured it had something to do with the orange man with horns.
"Well from what I gathered from the travelers that passed through here we're on a planet called Remnant. Apparently there are two humanoid species that call this planet their home. Humans like us and the Faunus, basically humans with animal features and apparently they're discriminated against by the humans."said Nobunaga who recalled everything he could from the travelers who passed through this area.
"So they have animal features so what! I actually know a few guys that would be interested to meet them or more specifically the Faunus girls."said Jaune who knew of fellow Navy SEAL who was a major otaku who especially loved cat girls and bunny girls.
"We also heard that most of the land on this planet is un cultivated thanks to those creatures you faced earlier that are called the Grimm. They apparently come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and no one is sure where they come from. All they know is they only attack humans never attack animals unless provoked."added Soji to the conversation on what he knew.
"So they come in variety of shapes and sizes and they only attack humans... this is troublesome we don't know why we're here but if there's one thing I do know is we can't stay in this cave forever."said Jaune.
"Agreed we can't stay here forever so I suggest tomorrow you give me one of your guns and we start moving out to find the nearest settlement to get some food and supplies and see where we go from there."said Nobunaga as he and Soji were running out of supplies.
"Fine I agree like my grandmother used to say their safety in numbers."said Jaune who knew if these people were who they said they were it was better to be their ally than enemy.
"Let's get some sleep cuz I'm really tired."said Soji as he began yawning.
"Yeah agreed I'm tired too cuz I had a long day."said Jaune as he made his way as far away from the campfire as he comfortably could before he got cold.
Nobunaga just smiled as you could tell that Jaune didn't fully trust them yet which was understandable. He but also tell that this young man had fierce instincts as he could tell from his body and Aura alone that he was a great warrior.
"Alright let's get some sleep and see where we go in the morning."said Nobunaga is he stretched his arms before making himself comfortable on the rocky floor trying to get some sleep.
Jaune looked at the two as they started falling asleep wondering what else was going to surprise him while he was on this planet known as... Remnant.
Hey guys PrimusPilus here with some news.
I was bored so I decided to write this chapter earlier than I plan to as I really had nothing better to do but I'm glad I did it.
I hope you all enjoy it as next chapter Jaune, Nobunaga, and Soji begin their troubles to try to find a nearby settlement for food and supplies.
If they find said settlement what will they find there?
All of these questions will be answered as the story continues but you will have to read the next chapter in order to find out.
