The months went by quickly, too quickly, if Tobirama thought honestly about it. Not only did she hate being pregnant, but she also hated childbirth as well. She had been through so much physical pain in her life, but nothing could even compare to birthing a watermelon sized baby out of her vagina. Her mother always used to tell her, that no man would truly understand pain, unless they had to birth a child.

And she held onto that, even now. She recalled Mito trying to explain what childbirth was like to Hashirama, and the look on Hashirama's face had been comical. Hashirama has seen enough births in his lifetime, but he never did seem to understand why it was so painful to woman. He could be smart, but also a dunce a lot of the time as well.

She was just thankful that Madara never asked her questions like that. He also never bothered to whisper nice things to her as well, just knowing Tobirama did not want to hear bullshit while in labor. She was sure Mito tipped him off to just stay silent.

Which she would always be thankful for.

Kazumi's birthday had come and gone, he was five now, and apart of the academy. Something the boy had been looking forward to for awhile now. And Tobirama could still not believe how fast he was growing up; her father had offhandedly said once that they have grown up too fast as well.

But now she really understood what it meant, to be a parent and sit back and watch as your children grow up, only hope you have done enough to help keep them on the right path going forward.

A small sigh left her lips, to the amusement of Mito.

Tobirama had agreed to Madara's pleas of her staying with Mito when he was not around, with her being so close, the date was sketchy, only going by how far along she had been after missing her first period. So, she could literally have this child any day now.

"You know, Tobi, your thoughts are loud. Why don't you share?" she asked.

Mito was roughly three months, give or take now. She really wondered how her and Hashirama just so conveniently aimed to have their kids around the time she had hers, though these two would only be months apart, unlike Itsuki and Kazumi, who were exactly a year and three months apart. Itsuki would be four in two months.

Tobirama huffed softly. "I was just thinking about how these kids are growing up too fast." She said to her. "It really doesn't feel like it's been five years already..." she sighed. As much as she hated the being pregnant, and giving birth, she loved Kazumi more than anything. She loved kids in general, which was why she had been more than willing to do whatever it took for Hashirama and Madara's dream to come true. It had taken a lot of working, but everything had managed to work itself out in the end. Sure, there was still flaws with a lot of things, her and Madara were not perfect, and they were not perfect parents. She knew that already, but they were trying.

Hashirama and Mito just had natural parental abilities, something that Tobirama envied so much. It was something her and Madara both lacked. And there were times where they had gone wrong with Kazumi. But it was something they had learned from.

She really wished being a parent had a handbook, because it was just something Tobirama was not good with. It did not come natural to her.

"Yes, Kids tend to grow up fast. As my father said, my sisters and I grew up in a blink of an eye." Mito chuckled softly. "But all you can do is hope you have helped them enough along the way." She said with a smile. "You are not a bad mother, Tobirama. As much as you are down on yourself, Kazumi is a well-behaved boy, more so than Itsuki." She said to her. "You are doing fine, and you will do fine with this baby." She chuckled. "I still hope you have a girl, throw those Uchiha for a loop." She hummed.

Tobirama chuckled. "I don't' know… this pregnancy feels similar to when I was pregnant with Kazumi." She said to her.

"Oh, you believe that old wife's tale?" Mito tilted her head.

Tobirama looked over at her. "My mother was correct, with every one of her pregnancies." She said to her. "She said that I was the only one that felt different to her. And she had been right, but then said that Kawarama and Itama had felt the same as Hashirama." She sighed. "So yes, I just have this feeling that it's a boy." She spoke.

Mito hummed. "Well, if you go by that judgment, this pregnancy of mine is nothing like it was with Itsuki." She chuckled. "Huh, maybe Hashirama and I will break the Senju pattern then." She could not help but cackle.

"Hashirama will spoil a girl rotten, Mito, this is a warning now." She smiled. Her had was gently rubbing her stomach. She could feel small pains radiating through her, but it was nothing too serious, they have been coming and going the last few days.

"Oh, I know, I am sure he's hoping for a girl, honestly." She said to her. "Having an heir is over, so I feel he doesn't care what the rest of our kids' genders will be." She spoke. She was still amused that Hashirama really wanted a lot of kids.

Tobirama knew that Hashirama had always wanted a big family of his own one day, and she knew that Mito, even if she were skeptical, was not opposed to the idea of having more kids, though she was also aware that Mito would rather have the rest closer together, something about not wanting to be old as dirt when the last of their kids turned eighteen.

She always did forget Mito was older than Hashirama by two years. They had married when Hashirama was eighteen, and Mito had been twenty. The village was created when Madara and Hashirama were twenty-two. She had married Madara when a year later, at twenty one, to prove that the Senju and Uchiha could coexist. They had not actively tried for a baby, because the village was still so young, and they were not so concerned over it. And Hashirama and Mito were not either.

Which is why Mito and Hashirama a little later to the game than her and Madara.

Men did not have to worry about fertility issues like woman did... Mito knew that the older she got, the least likely she will be able to convince, or worse, the higher chances of miscarriages were. That was not something Mito brought up to Hashirama often, but she had recalled a conversation between them once, of Mito mentioning that they had a short window of time for trying, especially seeing as she had to allow her body to heal fully before trying for another baby.

Even Tobirama was aware, that if the two had started trying right when they are younger, they would not have to worry about it as much. But since Mito was in her thirties now, it was a different story. And she knew her brother would not mind if they did not have the number of kids he had envisioned, he was simply happy as it was.

Her train of thought was cut off buy a rather sharp pain running through her, it made her whole-body tense, and Mito noticed.

"Tobi?" she asked her.

"Yeah, I'm okay... I think, just contractions starting... They were dull pains the last few days... But this is the first noticeably painful one." She muttered softly. Well, today was probably going to be the day, she was just grateful that Kazumi was at the academy. That way Mito would not have to worry about watching her own son and Kazumi.

Mito stood. "I am going to send for Madara." She said to her.

Tobirama nodded as she stood, she then went off to the bathroom, the urge to pee was strong-

Well.

She stared down at the ground. That was not pee, not in the slightest. "Mito, I think… Maybe have him meet us at the hospital." She called.

Once Mito sent for Madara to meet them at the hospital, Mito gathered up Itsuki and made sure Tobirama made it to the hospital, where Madara was waiting. Looking even more disheveled than normal. She couldn't blame him; it's been five years since the last time.

The delivery went smoothly, ever since Hashirama had trained others in the art of medical jutsu, its really taken off. Many different clans could use it. And there were a mix of Uchiha, Senju, Nara, Yamanaka, and Hyuuga working in the hospital, and a lot of them were also just nurses and aids.

Tobirama was laying back in bed, mostly exhausted, but watching as Madara was feeding the baby, if there was one thing, seeing Madara hold a small baby was one of the cutest things she has ever seen. Pictures were a new thing now, and Hashirama had made sure to get one of Madara and the baby when he first held it. She almost wished picture had been a thing with Kazumi, but at least Hashirama made sure that they would get a family photo. She supposed it was better than nothing.

"Have you decided on a name?" she asked him. Madara had let her name Kazumi, so she wanted Madara to name their second born.

Madara looked down at the child, a small smile on his lips, his hand had set the bottle off to the side, and he had adjusted the baby for burping. "I have an idea, but I do want to your opinion on it." He said to her. He adjusted the baby again, his hand moving to touch the light white hair, so much like Tobiramas.

"I have a hunch, and yes… I am fine with it, you know that." She said softly.

"Well, Izuna it is then." He said softly.

Tobirama had known that Madara was the oldest of his siblings, but he had been so much closer to Izuna. There was nothing Tobirama could do to bring Izuna back, she regretted her choice every day. But that was years ago now.

A small chuckled left her lips. "Those are some shoes for him to fill." She said lightly. Even she could not deny that Izuna had been strong, she had just gotten the upper hand.

Madara hummed. "There really is not much expectation for him to fill. Just as long as he grows up strong, that's all that matters." He said lightly.

That was one of the many reasons she loved Madara.

She closed her eyes and hummed. "Hashirama said he would bring Kazumi later." She said softly. She just wanted to sleep for the moment.

Madara nodded. "Sleep, I can deal with it." He said lightly. He could tell how exhausted she was.

Tobirama nodded, she fell asleep not to long after that.

Hashirama brought Kazumi, as he said he would. And Madara smiled a bit as the boy shyly walked over to Madara, he wasn't sure where Kazumi got the shyness from, Hashirama always offhandedly said that Itama had been really shy. So that was a possibly, no of his brothers had been shy at all.

He sat Kazumi on the chair, and went over to pick up Izuna, gently laying the baby in his arms and adjusted them to hold him the right way. "This is your little brother, Izuna." He said to the young boy.

Kazumi adjusted his arms slightly and looked down at the baby, noting the white hair just like their mothers. "He looks like mom." He muttered softly; he had an awe in his eyes. He's never seen a baby so small before, sure some of his friends at the academy had younger siblings, but they were all at least within two years of each other, he's never seen an actual baby before.

Madara hummed softly. "He does." He said to him. He had always wondered what a male Tobirama would have looked like, well he was sure he would get to see now with their son. "What do you think?" he asked the boy.

Kazumi was silent for a moment. "I like him." He spoke.

Madara and Hashirama had to hold in their laughs, as to not wake Tobirama. "Well, I'm glad you like him. You are stuck with him now." He chuckled. Despite the little joke, he could see that Kazumi was very much already bonding with his little brother. There may be five years between them, but he already knew that Kazumi would love and protect Izuna no matter what.

Going home was one of Tobirama's favorite thing, she did not enjoy having to stay in the hospital all that much. She knew it was just precaution, to keep an eye on her and the baby. But she still just liked being able to go home. She was sitting on the couch, feeling Izuna with a bottle, and watching as Kazumi did some homework from the academy, she had been told of what Kazumi said while she had been asleep, and she was truly amused by that.

She wished she had been awake to see it.

But she was able to count on Hashirama getting a picture of that too. She feared that Hashirama would be unstoppable with that bulky camera.

Madara was also home earlier as well, to give her a chance to shower and change. They worked well when it came to baby duty. And it worked well with her not breast feeding either, sure, some of the other woman whispered about it, but her children were fine. And it allowed Madara to bond more with Izuna as well, that was why she never breastfed with Kazumi either. It allowed Madara to be able take up that responsibility as well.

She hummed as Madara came through the door, she could hear the sound of sandals being kicked off, and he was in the room a moment later as well, taking Izuna and the bottle from her so she was able to get up and go tend to herself for a bit as well.

She showered and changed clothing, a lot of the times she just got up and started the day in her pajamas, sending Kazumi off to school, and then lounging around taking care of the baby. She did get a few minutes to herself to clean, but otherwise Izuna was a very demanding baby. Always wanting to be held and hated being sat down unless he was asleep.

Madara had made a comment that his brother had been remarkably similar. So, Tobirama wondered if they ended up with a literal mini Izuna, who just happened to look like her.

She came back out a little later, to see that Kazumi had climbed up by Madara, and was resting his head against his fathers' arm, all while looking at Izuna.

Picking up Kazumi's homework, she noted it was complete, and correct too. This child was way too smart for his own good. But what did she expect? Both her and Madara were smart. She sat the work on the table so he would be able to find it.

"Do you want me to cook? Or should I go get something?" she asked them.

Madara tilted his head back to look at her. "Whatever you want to do." He said, he looked tired yet. She was sure Hashirama was still working Madara a lot.

"Well, I'll go see if I can bring some food home from that new shop the Akimichi opened up." She spoke. "I can assume you are good here?" she asked. Making Madara chuckled.

"I think I can handle it." He spoke.

With that Tobirama slipped out the door. She did not get out often, and it's been a few weeks since she had Izuna. She took in the late afternoon air and breathed softly. It was nice to finally be able to be out and about again.

She spotted the shop she had been talking about a good couple minutes later. And she was not shocked to see Hashirama there when she opened the door as well.

"Bringing home food for Mito and Itsuki?" she asked him. And she could not hide the amusement when Hashirama jumped.

"oh, Tobi!" he said, the excitement and happiness in his tone was truly infectious. "How are you feeling? Madara has said you are doing better, but I wanted to know for myself." He said lightly. He had been thinking of bringing Itsuki over one day so he could check in on her as well.

"I'm fine, simply happy to be out again. Being stuck at home is one the most annoying parts." She said lightly. She knew staying home and in for the first few months was better for the baby, at least until his immune system was more developed and better. So her and Madara didn't really stick around too many big crowds. And only stayed in close counters with Hashirama and Mito.

Hashirama nodded. "I'm glad to see you up and about." He said as he grabbed his bag of food. "Itsuki has been asking about Kazumi." He started.

"Bring him over the next time you get done early, I'm sure Mito could use a break from you." She teased a bit.

Hashirama huffed and then chuckled. "I'll do that, he's bound and determined that he will be better than Kazumi, even though his cousin has a whole year over him." He chuckled. It almost reminded him of himself and Madara. Just abut more friendlier than they had been.

Tobirama had asked for the meal she wanted and grabbed the bag a moment later.

"Oh, I'm sure. You should see them on the playground, racing all over the place… I almost feel bad for the other kids." She said lightly. She knew that Kazumi had little time to be able to just play around now, but Itsuki was still younger than him. So the younger boy didn't fully grasp that yet.

They walk outside and Hashirama turned to wave. "I'll see you soon, Tobi." He said with a smile, a smile that she loved seeing on her brother's face. It was a far cry from the small smiles and hidden smiles he use to have when they were still all fighting. This village, having all of them here and with him, alive, and together. That was Hashirama's true happiness. And she was more than happy to be able to help with that.

She waved as well. "See you soon, anija." She said with a small smile.

They both turned and went their separate ways. She stayed with Madara in the Uchiha compound, while Hashirama was with the Senju.

But even if they were split up into compounds, they still functioned as a village.

She returned home, slipping her sandals off, and moving to the kitchen. She sat out the plates and started to fill them with food. She placed them on the table, with drinks for them. She then went to relieve Madara of baby duty, she was accustomed to eating and holding Izuna as well.

They all went to sit at the table, Tobirama holding Izuna in her non dominate so she could eat.

it was calm, and simply.

"Mom." Kazumi spoke up, looking up at her.

"Yes?" she asked lightly.

"Do you and dad think I will get the Sharingan?" he asked.

Madara made a choked sound, and Tobirama looked a bit surprised.

"Where did you learn of the sharingan so soon?" She asked lightly. Trying to recover for both herself and Madara.

"Some of the older kids at school mentioned it, they said that since I was half Uchiha I probably won't have it." He said as he looked between his parents. "Is that true?"

Tobirama looked at Madara, who had composed himself.

"Truly, I don't know for sure, Kazumi." Madara said to him. "I don't really know of anyone who married outside of the clan, to have kids with our kekkei genkai, at least not to my knowledge." He said to him.

The Uchiha were very tight lipped about the Sharingan. So they had a lot of control over who married outside of the clan.

Tobirama spoke up. "It won't be a big deal if you never have it, your father and I spoke about this before you were born." She said, taking a small bite of the food again.

"But.. I just doesn't seem like I should be the heir if I don't have it." He said to them. "I get being strong to care for the clan, but… Should I at least be able to have that?" he was obviously bothered by this.

"Kazumi.." Tobirama stated. But the boy shook his head.

"Never mind, forget it." He said lightly. He got up from the table and moved to go back to his room. His food was only half eaten.

Madara sighed. "I suppose I am going to have to talk to him." He said lightly.

"I didn't think he would be this bothered over the idea of not having the sharingan, and we don't even know for sure if he will or not. That's the issue.." she sighed, gently rocking Izuna when he started to fuss.

Madara rubbed his head a little bit. "I'm sure it was older Uchiha children he heard this from." He sighed. He was also going to have to have a talk with their parents as well. Kids could be cruel sometimes. He finished his food and went off to speak with Kazumi.

_Line 3

Madara knocked at the boys door before he opened. "We need to talk, Kazumi." He said to him. He noted that he was playing around with a kunai… He didn't even want to know where he got it from, Tobirama would have a fit…

He closed the door behind him and went to sit down on the bed by him.

Kazumi sighed. "It's not fair, dad…" he muttered.

Madara moved to grab the kunai from him. "Where did you even hear of it from, who?" he asked him.

Kazumi looked down. "Satoshi said that his cousin, Kagami had awakened when he was nine…" he said lightly.

'Satoshi.. figures.' He sighed softy to himself. "And Kagami lost his parents, the Sharingan awakens when feel a strong, emotional pain. And Kagami lost both his parents when he was eight, so of course his awakened." He said to him. "Your mother and I are not saying you won't have it, we just don't know if it is possible." He said to him. "You could surprise us, and end up with it later on.. but to sit and hope for it now… It's just not realistic now." He said to him.

"When did you first awaken yours?" he asked lightly.

"Well, the first time on of my younger brothers died.." he said lightly. "I was around eleven, and he was six… Back in my time, we were made to fight when we were old enough to hold one of these." He said as he held up the kunai. "Back then we were at war with the Senju, and a bunch of other clans as well. So each clan had a group called the child killers, they were sent out to try and take out kids, the less kids there were, the most likely a clan would fall. My youngest brother was killed by this group." He said to him.

"That is why your uncle Hashirama, and I, came up with this dream, this village, so children would no longer have to fight, and they wouldn't have to die… I'm sure you know, but you mother and uncle had two other brothers who were killed in this war as well, and my four younger brothers all perished as well." He said.

Kazumi nodded. "Uncle has mentioned Kawarama and Itama before." He said to him. "Though you just now mentioned your own brothers…" he said, tilting his head.

Madara huffed a soft chuckle. "Yeah, well.. Your little brother is named after one of my brothers." He said to him. "I'll talk about my brothers when you are older." He said to him. He ruffled Kazumis hair. He was not ready yet to mention them. "So don't think too hard on the Sharingan, okay? You are still a little young yet, and this village is to hope you kids don't have to experience pain so soon.." he had felt very bad for Kagami, his parents mission was not supposed to turn out like it did.

Kazumi nodded. "Okay… Thanks, dad." He said to him.

Madara smiled, he pressed a soft kiss to Kazumi's forehead before standing up. "Get some rest, okay?" he said to him. He then moved to leave the good.

_ Line 4

Madara went to his and Tobirama's room, noticing that she had managed to put Izuna down long enough to clean and put everything away. He moved over to change, and then climbed in bed with her, his arm moving to wrap around her waist.

"How did that go?" she asked him.

"It could have been worse, but Kagami's cousin had been bragging about how Kagami had awakened the sharingan when he was eight, but also failed to mention that Kagami had lost his parents." He sighed, pressing his forehead against the back of her shoulder.

Tobirama huffed. "I am sure that Kagami won't be too pleased about that." She sighed. Kagami was not even really her student, but they seemed to show up whenever she was training her team, so they had all been just added in.

"No, I know he won't." Madara sighed, closing his eyes.

"rest, I know you have an early day." She said softly to him.

Madara nodded and slowly fell asleep. It was not hard to sleep next to her at this point.

Tobirama hummed softly. She knew she would only get a few hours before Izuna's crying would wake her up. So she closed her eyes and tried to gather as much sleep as she could.
