When Ryu woke up from his sleep, he got up from his sleeping bag and grabbed his clothes from yesterday and went to change.
Once he was done, He ran into Olette "Oh, hey. Morning." Ryu greeted the girl.
"Morning!" Olette greets her back as she enters the bathroom and changes into some new clothing.
Olette came out later wearing an orange and black vest with a light yellow tank top and orange and black shorts with a black belt and black combat style heel. She also wears a feather neckless.
Ryu stared at her and smiled "You look good." Ryu said as Olette smiles at the compliment.
"Thanks. But we should get going." Olette said as she and Ryu walked to the locker room.
Once in the locker room, Ryu had pulled out his halberd and placed it on his back "So did you make that weapon?" Ryu turns around to see Horus giving him a friendly smile.
Horus was now wearing a black sleeveless turtleneck shirt, white pants with black lining on each side and a black sash around his waits with yellow highlights, black armbands with two gold rings on each of them and white shoes. He also has a scabbard behind his back.
"Yes. My teacher helped me make it." Ryu said as Olette walked up to the two boys.
"Who wouldn't forge a weapon like that. Did you give it a name?" Olette asks.
"Yeah. It's called Shadow's Fury." Ryu said as he looked at Olette's weapon laying on her back.
The weapon was two twin swords that were green and black and were resting next to some color coded arrows.
Ryu then spots Ruby talking to a blonde haired girl and walks to her "Hey, Ruby." Ryu greeted as he walked up to her and the blonde girl.
The blonde girl had violet eyes and was wearing a tan jacket that bares her midriff, with golden brown piping and short, puffy sleeves with black cuffs that feature two gold buttons. Underneath this, she wears a low cut yellow crop top with an emblem on the left breast in black.
"Hey Ryu." Ruby greeted back as the blonde girl smiles at her with Horus and Olette walks to Ryu's side.
"So, who are they, Ruby?" The blonde girl asks.
"These are the nice people i made friends with after you ditched me yesterday, Yang." Ruby said with her voice having a hint of annoyance.
"Is that so? Then it's nice to meet you… um…?"
"I'm Ryu Hong Se. The girl on my left is Olette Sienna and the guy on the right is Horus Nudar." Ryu said as Horus shakes hands with Ruby.
"Well, I hope my little sister hasn't caused you three any problems." Ryu and Olette were confused by that but then it clicked for them.
"You're Ruby's sister?!" Ryu and Olette quickly looked at Ruby and then at Yang.
"I know. It may not look like it at first, but i am indeed Ruby's big sister! I hope you guys get along!" Yang said as she left her sister to her friends.
"I still can't believe you have a sister…" Olette said, looking at Yang walking off "I've always wanted to have a sister…" Olette looked down at the ground with a sad expression when Juane walked up to her.
"Are you okay?" Jaune asks, placing his hand on her shoulder.
"Y-yeah. I'm just… thinking of the past…" Olette said as she left the locker room.
"I wonder what happened?" Horus asks.
"Every girl has their secrets. Let's not pry into it." Ryu walks off and leaves the locker room as well.
"I hope she's okay…" Ruby said.
"Like he said, it's best not to pry into it." A girl with red hair said as the intercom went off.
"Would all first year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation. Again: All first year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately." Glynda's voice said before the intercom chimed again.
"Aw yeah! Time to show that I'm ready for the Huntsman life!" Horus said as he quickly ran out of the locker room.
Once at the cliff, Ryu, Ruby, Olette, Horus and Jaune and the rest of the first year students stand attentively as Ozpin speaks "For years, you have trained to become warriors. And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest." Ozpin said as Glynda steps forward with a tablet in her arms.
"Now i'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates. Today." Glynda said, making Ryu a little nervous and he trained himself to stay cool under pressure.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here, at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone whom you can work well." Ryu and Ruby shared nervous glances at each other "That being said, the first person you make eye contact with will be your teammate for the next four years."
Ruby felt something shattering inside her "Once you're partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die." Ryu took a deep breath and dons a serious expression on his face.
"You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructor will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path, containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff." Horus felt all too eager to just begin right now, but he was someone who liked to hear things out first before diving in.
"We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" Jaune was the only one who raised their hands.
"Yeah, um, Sir-"
"Good. Now, take your positions." Ozpin said as everyone stands on the grey platforms.
"Uh sir… I've, um, got… a question." Jaune said as Weiss was the first one to be launched into the air, with the second one being Horus "So this landing strategy… What is it? Like, dropping us off or something?" He asks Ozpin.
"No. You will be falling." He answers simply.
"Oh. I see… So, like… Did you hand out parachutes for us?" Jaune asks again as the next students to be launched into the air is Olette and the girl with the black ribbon.
"No. You will be using your own landing strategy." Yang and Ryu were the last of the students to be launched into the air.
"Uh-huh…" Jaune then looked to see Ruby being launched into the air "So, um, what exactly is a landing…" Before Jaune knew it, he was the last one to be launched into the air "Strategy?!" He shouted as he fell into the forest.
A bird was flying carelessly in the wind when Ruby crashed into it "Birdie no!" Ruby then pulled out her weapon, which looked to be a red sniper rifle, and shot at the ground to slow down her descent.
Ryu ended up doing the same by pulling out Shadow's Fury in its shotgun form and he began to shoot at the ground to slow his descent and he then turned Shadow's Fury into its halberd form and uses it to swirl down a tree when Ryu touches the ground.
"Made it." Ryu looks around and starts to walk through the forest "I wonder how Ruby's doing…" Ryu said when he heard twigs snapping "Who's there?" Ryu asks as he looks around and dodged out of the way of the monster that was stalking him.
"A Beowolf? I was hoping something a little more challenging." Ryu said as he uses Shadow's Fury to block the Beowolf's next attack, making its claws slide off the pole of the halberd and Ryu flipping backwards and then turning his weapon into its gun form and he shoots it.
"And that's how I roll." Ryu said as he begins to walk the opposite way but when he turned around, he was almost attacked by another Beowolf… if not for something in the shadows saving him at the last second.
The Beowolf was killed by a single arrow to the chest, which was then knocked back by an explosion from the arrow "...You look like you needed some help." Olette said from the tree, smiling.
"You're right. I think I chipped a nail back there." Ryu replied.
"You stick with the brooding, I'll handle the wise cracks." Olette then jumps off the tree "Shall we get going?" Olette said as she and Ryu starts walking through the forest.
Horus was walking through the forest when his orange eyes glowed yellow for a split second "Nice try, Grimm." The Beowolves lunge at the Faunus, only for them to get split in half by one quick move of his sword.
"Good slash." Horus turns around to see the guy from last night.
The young man had white messy hair with red eyes. He was wearing black shirt with a silver pendant and grey cargo pants with its suspenders on the sides and black boots. He was also wearing his weapons, two black claw-like gauntlets with both of them having color coded gems on them.
"Thanks." Horus said with a smile as he walks through the forest but was stopped by the white hair young man.
"Wait." The young man then sniffs the air, much to Horus's confusion.
"What are you-?" Before Horus can ask what the young man was doing, a bear Grimm rushed out of the bushes and tried to attack the two.
"There's your answer!" The young man said as he lunges at the Grimm.
"Let me help you!" Horus takes his sword off of his back and turns it into an orange colored sniper rifle.
"Don't! I got this!" The young man yelled as his gauntlet became engulfed by flames and he ended up punching the Grimm, blowing a hole into it, leaving Horus in shock.
"That was…!"
"I know. That's how my gauntlets work." The young man said as he and Horus continued to walk through the forest.
Glynda had just seen Horus and the young man teaming up as she walked up to Ozpin "Our last pair has been formed, sir. Horus Nudar and Riley Blackwood. Poor boy… He hasn't got a clue who and what he's partnered up with." She then saw a footage with Olette and Ryu "At least I can't say the same for my darling daughter. At least she can work well with Mr. Himura." She then saw the footage of the red haired girl and Jaune.
"At least they're better off than Ms. Nikos. I don't care what the transcript papers say, this Jaune fellow is not suited for this level of combat." She then looks at Ozpin "Regardless, they should be reaching the temple in just a few minutes at their current pace. Which reminds me, what did you use for relics this year?" Ozpin didn't respond, making Glynda curious "Professor Ozpin?"
When Olette and Ryu make it to a patch in the forest, they see a ruined temple with gold chest pieces on the stone petals tools "Is this the place?" Olette asks.
"It must be, if we're the first ones here." Ryu said as they heard the bushes rustling and saw Yang and the girl in black.
"Whoo! That was fun." Yang said with a smile.
"That was your definition of fun?" The girl asks.
"Yang?" Ryu called out.
"Oh. Hey, Ryu!" Yang greeted with the same smile "Come and meet Blake!"
"I think i'm good." Ryu said as he went up to the 'Relics' and took one of them from the altar when all of a sudden an Ursa appeared from the forest only for it to fall flat on it's stomach and reveal that a short orange haired girl was riding it.
"Aww… It's broken." The girl said as a young man walked out, looking exhausted from running.
"Nora! Please… don't ever do that again…" The young man then saw that she was not near the Ursa but now near the 'Relics'.
"Ooooo…" She then grabs the tower and starts to sing "I'm queen of the castle~! I'm queen of the castle~!"
"NORA!" The young man yelled and the girl giggles.
"Coming Ren!" She said as she walked over to him.
"Did-did that girl come here riding on an Ursa?" Olette asks, clearly still in shock.
"I-" Before Ryu or Yang could say anything, they saw Horus using his wings and carrying Riley.
"Sorry it took us so long. Those Grimm just won't leave us alone." Horus explained as he and Riley both took a 'Relic'.
"I guess that makes sense…" Ryu said when he heard the shriek of a giant bird Grimm and saw Ruby and Weiss falling from the sky.
"Look out below!" Ruby shouted as she and Weiss were caught by Horus before they hit the ground.
"Did you seriously ride on giant Nevermore to get here?" Horus asks as Weiss got up and straightened out her dress.
"It was her idea!" Weiss said as Ruby took the 'Relics' and turned to the others.
"We were lost. And I had no better ideas." Ruby admitted.
"Well, i have to admire your ambition." Riley said as they heard crashing trees.
"Oh, what now!?" Ryu asks as Jaune and the red haired girl were running away from something. A giant scorpion Grimm.
"A Deathstalker!? You gotta be kidding me!" Horus yells as Riley charges at the Deathstalker.
"What are you doing!?" Yang shouted as Riley's gauntlets became engulfed by flames and punched the Deathstalker with all the force he had, sending it flying towards some boulders that had crushed it when they had fallen.
"There's your answer…" The Nevermore was circling around them, with Ryu thinking of a strategy that might be able to save them.
"That Nevermore is circling back! What do we do?!" Jaune asks.
"Look, there's no sense in dillydallying. Our objective is right in front of us." Weiss said as Ruby steps up in front of them.
"She's right. Our mission is to grab the artifact and make it back to the cliff." This makes Ryu and Weiss smile "There's no point in fighting these things." Ruby explained as Jaune smiles.
"Run and live? Now, that's a plan I can get behind!" Everyone quickly grabbed the 'Relics' and run towards where the cliffs were.
Once they have run towards a ruined temple, the giant Nevermore sits upon the tower as the others hide behind the pillars "What do we do?" Jaune asks as Ren turns Nora.
"Nora, distract him!" Nora nods as Horus joins her.
"Need some help?" Horus smiles as the Nevermore shoots its quills at the two, with Horus flying in the air, turning his sword into a sniper rifle and his eyes glowed again.
"Nora, look out!" A quill was zooming straight for her, when Ryu pushed Nora out of the way.
"Thanks! How did you…?"
"I'll explain everything later!" Ryu then pulls Shadow's Fury in its Shotgun form and shoots lightning from its barrels, knocking it back with Nora joining in by shooting with her rocket launcher.
"Yang!" Riley shouted as he gave the blonde a leg up and sent her up to the Nevermore.
"Can you do that for me?" Blake asks as Riley sends her up to the Nevermore and Blake wasted no time in attacking it by using quick slashes on its head and it's fur with Yang sending bullets into its mouth.
"I. Hope. Your. Hungry!" Yang said with each shot when Ryu and Ren runs up the temple's tower and shoots at the Nevermore.
"Let's hit it with everything we got!" Ryu said as Ren nods and the two saw Olette running up with them.
"How did you get here?!" Ryu asks as they reached the top.
"It's my semblance. I can teleport." Olette quickly explained.
"Then can you teleport us to the Nevermore?" Ren asks.
"Yeah. Hold on tight." Olette said as she teleports to the back of the Nevermore.
"Go!" Ren uses his guns' grapples and ties its legs with Olette and Ryu shooting at the back of the giant Grimm, causing it to hit its head into the cliff on top of the Temple.
"Now everyone!" Ryu said as Weiss jumps into the temple's entrance and froze it, keeping the Nevermore from flying away.
"Let's do this!" Ruby yells as Riley and Nora pins the Nevermore into the cliff and the Red haired girl shoots at it to keep it from struggling too much so it can escape while Blake sends her ribbon weapon to Yang and Ruby stretches it with her scythe and Weiss uses her glyphs to hold Ruby back.
"Of course you would come up with this idea." Weiss remarks as Ruby grins when Weiss launches her at the Nevermore and uses her scythe to grab it by the neck as she runs up the cliff and chops its head off, finally killing it.
"Finally…" Olette said as she kneels down.
"Wow… Just… Wow…" Jaune said in awe.
"Well… That was a thing." Yang said as Ryu nods in agreement.
At the ceremony, Ozpin was revealing the teams to the whole school "Russel Thrush, Cardin Winchester, Dove Bronzewing, Sky Lark. The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together… as Team CRDL, led by Cardin Winchester." Ozpin said as Team CRDL leaves the stage as Ryu walks onto the stage with his new teammates.
"Horus Nudar, Olette Sienna, Ryu Himura, Riley Blackwood. The four of you retrieved the white king pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as… Team HORR, led by Horus Nudar." The three teens looks at Horus who nods at them with a smile before turning to Ozpin in shock.
"Wait, what!?" Horus exclaimed in a shocked tone.
"Congratulations, young man." Horus didn't know how to respond as Riley pulled him aside and left the stage with Ryu and Olette as Jaune's group walks onto the stage.
"Jaune Arc, Lie Ren, Pyrrha Nikos, Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the White Rook pieces. From this day forward, you will work together… as Team JNPR, led by Jaune Arc." Ozpin announces.
"Huh?" Jaune gasps.
"Congratulations, Mr. Arc." Pyrrha then punches Jaune on the shoulder playfully but accidently knocked him down and then Team JNPR leaves the stage.
"And finally… Blake Belladonna, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Yang Xiao Long. You have retrieved the White Knight pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as… Team RWBY. Led by… Ruby Rose." Yang was swelling up with pride and hugs her little sister.
"I'm so proud of you!" Yang said as Glynda stands next to Ozpin's side.
"Looks like things are shaping up to be an… interesting year." Ozpin said as Ryu smiles and looks at the cracked moon.
At the dorms, Ryu and his new teammates were settling in okay as they were putting their things away… Well, everyone except Horus, who was still in shock "Leader… me… Leader…"
"Okay, he's been like this for the past hour." Olette said in an annoyed voice.
"Can someone do something to get him to wake up?" Ryu said as he continues to put his things away when Riley roars, scaring Horus back into reality.
"You're welcome." Riley said as he lands on his bed.
"What the hell…?" Olette was now curious of Riley but puts that behind her mind and focus on putting her things away when a knock on the door caught their attention.
"Sorry for interrupting, but i wanted to see how you're settling in." Glynda said.
"We're doing good, Mom." Olette said, now catching the ears of her teammates.
"She's your mom?!" Horus asks.
"Do you have a problem with that, Mr. Nudar?" Glynda asks.
"Nonono! I was just surprised." Horus exclaimed.
"Well, i'm glad you're settling in okay, Olette." Glynda said as she leaves.
"Okay… Well, let's get some sleep." Ryu said as he closes their dorm room and puts on his pajamas.
"Are you seriously changing in front of us?" Horus asks, covering his eyes.
"That's how we did so back in my village." Ryu explained.
"Well, as long as you don't go nude, then we're good." Olette said as she begins to change herself when Horus saw her bra and he instantly closed them.
"It's okay, Horus. As long as you boys don't try any funny business, we're good." Olette explained as she put on her pink heart pajamas.
"Well, i'm already in my pajamas, so i'm going to bed." Horus said as he pulled the red blankets up to his chest.
"G'night." Ryu said as he turned the lights off.
