Andy was looking forward to Sharon Raydor not being around for weeks. Since the mouse incident, she was all he thought of. Dreams of her, night and day, plagued him.
But then Will Pope pulled his little stunt and now she had missed her flight and was moping around the murder room. Apparently the flights going into Salt Lake City were canceled meaning her plans for Christmas were also canceled.
"Lieutenant Flynn," Chief Johnson broke Andy from his thoughts. "Can you do me a favor?"
"Sure, Chief." He nodded. "What's up?"
"Captain Raydor caught a cab here and was supposed to get a police escort to LAX," Chief Johnson set on the edge of his desk. "But now her flight has been canceled and she needs a ride home. Honestly she shouldn't be taking a cab alone this late at night."
"And you want me to take her?" Andy sighed. He could see he wasn't going to rid of his problem so easily.
"If you could," Chief Johnson batted her eyes. "Please?"
"Fine." He rolled his eyes. "Where is she so I can break the news to her?"
"She's out in the RV with my mother." Chief Johnson said irritated.
"I'm sure she'll be thrilled." Andy stood.
Andy headed down to the RV. He passed Willie Ray on her way up with a casserole.
"Do you need help, Mrs. Johnson?" He asked.
"If you could just bring a dish up when you come back that would be great." Willie Ray smiled. Andy pushed the button on the elevator for her to go up.
Andy found Sharon in the RV alone. Her back was to him while she frantically texted someone on her phone. She didn't even hear him come in to the RV.
Andy quietly walked up close behind her.
"Everything okay?" He asked making her jump. She nearly dropped her phone.
"Lieutenant!" Sharon placed a hand over her heart while she turned to face him. "Was that necessary?"
"I just came to tell you I'm your ride home." He grinned. "So just let me know when you're ready."
"Chief Johnson asked you?" She raised a brow.
"I volunteered." He lied then looked around smelling something burning. "Is there something in the oven?"
Sharon cursed. She quickly grabbed an oven mitt. She opened the door pulling the sweet potato casserole out. The marshmallows were a little more brown then they should have been. She placed it on the counter on a towel.
"Damn it. They're ruined." She turned off the oven and set down at the table. Her elbows on her knees And her hands covered her face. "Everything is ruined."
"Hey," Andy placed a hand on her back kneeling beside her. "Everything is fine."
"Everything is not fine." She shook her head and looked at him with tears forming. "Everything is ruined."
"Hey," Andy stood and held out his hand. "Come here."
After much hesitation, Sharon stood and allowed him to wrap his arms around he. Hers came around him and she buried her face against his neck.
"This is the first year," Sharon's voice quivered. "I've ever miss Christmas with my kids."
Andy could feel her lips brush against the skin on his neck. The feeling went straight to his groin.
"They'll understand." He assured her pushing his desires away. "It's not like any of this was your fault. I can tell you're a damn good mother and, as much as we all hate to admit it, you're a damn good cop."
"Thank you." She pulled back to look at him. "That really means a lot."
Andy looked down at her lips just as her tongue wet them.
"You're doing it again." He whispered with a smile looking back into her eyes.
"What?" Sharon furrowed her brows then realized what she'd done. A blush came into her cheeks. "I'm sorry. It's just habit."
"Your habit is driving me crazy." He whispered his lips close to hers. "One of these days, Sharon Raydor, I'm going to kiss you."
"One of these days, Andrew Flynn, I might let you," Her breath was on his lips, but then she stepped back. "But not today."
"When I do kiss you," Andy whispered stepping towards her placing his hands on her hips. "You're not going to want me to stop."
Sharon's hands went to his chest.
"You think every woman wants you," She ran her hand down his tie like she'd done before. "Don't you?
"No," He shook his head then leaned in closer. "But I'm looking at one who does."
"We should get these dishes up to the murder room." Sharon released his tie. Andy let go of her hips as she moved from between him and the table. "They'll get cold."
Andy smiled noticing how she didn't deny wanting him. It was going to be a long ride home.
"Tell me what to take." He offered.
